Reviews for Hotel Sabrina

Review 1:With only a tiny window and poor lighting, our room on the third floor was dark and gloomy. The sloping roof and enormous beams were a head hitting hazard both in the bedroom and bathroom. If you are over 5'3" ask for a room on the lower floors which look much higher and lighter.

Review 2:The location was very convenient for the town centre and the many, varied and popular restaurants .

Review 3:Unable to park right at hotel and many many steps to our room. Hard with luggage although staff did help.

Review 4:Very quaint. In the old town close to everything. Very clean. Lovely view from little balcony.

Review 5:Cortona is amazing, the most beautiful town in Tuscany...hotel is in a great location, beautifully decorated rooms, couple of them with a breathtaking view...

Review 6:The bed was similar to sleeping on the floor, that hard. If your room faces the street, prepare for sleeping late. The street noice is a constant. But because of the bed I could never return.

Review 7:Overall, the hotel was great. The room was big. The staff was the best. The location was perfect.

Review 8:Absolutely nothing!

Review 9:Sabrina is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Everything was perfect: the cosy and clean room, tasty breakfast, very helpful and friendly hosts (just fell in love with them). Nothing could be better! And of course Cortona is a such beautiful town.

Review 10:The hotel doesn't have a lift so I would recommend if stairs are a problem to ask for a first floor room. It would be good to have a fan in the room for stuffy warm nights.

Review 11:The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great near to the main street and attractions. The breakfast area is a good way to meet people who are staying at the hotel

Review 12:The only thing I did not like is having to leave...

Review 13:Staff and owner are wonderful, location is awesome, comfortable clean facility, great breakfast! Cannot be beat!

Review 14:The only criticism I could give is that that detergent they used on the linens was super strong smelling. Something with a little less scent would be nicer.

Review 15:This was a charming little place, well situated, with wonderful, friendly staff. I found it very comfortable with rustic Tuscan charm.

Review 16:nothing.

Review 17:It was a nice little hotel with a good location to the town square. We stumbled onto the annual joust festival which was a bonus. Helpful staff both at check in and check out. They even directed us to St. Francis Celle which is a must see.

Review 18:We found the rooms cool during the day, but during the evening and nighttime the temperature was fine. Our room was up three flights of stairs which was fine for us but may be a problem for anyone with mobility issues.

Review 19:The staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the cosy atmosphere and the clean rooms. Location was great, very close to the square and all the action. Every morning at breakfast it was great to see Sergio's friendly face to start our day right!

Review 20:Very small, no lounge area, no place to sit in a comfortable chair and relax, breakfast served in the reception, no view at all from the small window in my room

Review 21:Very good location in the centre of the old town, very serviceminded staff, good breakfast, very clean.

Review 22:Fire hazard. Plastic utensils for breakfast.Stale bread.Rationed breakfast,4 slices of meat per 2 persons.plastic disposable cup for packeted orange juice with plastic spoon for cereal. Quaint for adults. Excessive noise throughout night.4 stories up,no lift. No fire escape. I would rather sleep in my car. We were in the attic. It is a disgrace that this "hotel" has a 3 star rating. None of our group would stay in this hotel again. The pictures on booking.com web site do not reflect what we saw and experienced. I am not surprised pets can stay free, it is only fit for pets.

Review 23:Nothing.the breakfast dining table accommodated 4 persons. I expect we would have had to queue if anybody was at breakfast before us.

Review 24:The staff at Hotel Sabrina went above and beyond assisting us with taxis, laundry facilities, recommendations and directions. Located in the heart of the city, within walking distance to many of the townsites and shops. We fell in love with Cortona, and would not hesitate to stay at Hotel Sabrina again!

Review 25:A bit dated, but, then if it wasn't it would cost more and defeat the value for money aspect

Review 26:Clean, friendly, central location, good value for money

Review 27:Very accommodating when I had to delay a day due to my passport being stolen. Traditional room and breakfast, unfortunately I wasn't there longer. Cortona is a gorgeous place, and Sabrina is good place to stay

Review 28:We had an amazing time here. The staff was very helpful and kind, they walked to a restaurant to make us a reservation! Clean, close to center and to free parking!

Review 29:no lift. but it is common in italy.

Review 30:stuff was so kind to introduce the place to us and recommended a very nice restaurant. they have a tiny but beautiful balcony on the top floor. the boss has driven us to the station the day we left which impressed us so much. Thank you!

Review 31:Very nice and helpful host, lovely house and room. The location is good just a couple walks to the center. And the restaurant recommend are very good too.

Review 32:My room is at the inner side. It is a litter bit lack of natural light.

Review 33:The bottle water is provided free of charge and the good location in Cortona. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Review 34:The only thing not to like is the day you have to leave Cortona.

Review 35:Love the location. The property is so charming, staff and owner really friendly and helpful. I had the Audrey Hepburn room and my friend had the room just above me, both were wonderful. I will most definitely return to this hotel.

Review 36:The fact that I could only stay one night.

Review 37:In a grossly overpriced and not always friendly town, where one is held captive via lack of public transport and difficult accessibility, this hotel is a gem! Sweet rooms, incredible hospitality, sparkling clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is good. Do not be put off by the lack of air conditioning. In buildings this old, it is really not necessary; the fan was more than adequate.

Review 38:Nothing. Everything was wondeefull.

Review 39:They came to pick us up at the station and dropped us off again. Very helpull staff. Gave us a map and directions of where to find the best restaurants etc. Also gave us complimentary water and a "Hotel Sabrina" pen.

Review 40:the bed

Review 41:Unfortunately there were bed bugs

Review 42:Location was great

Review 43:Very nice location with beautiful rooms.

Review 44:Lots of steps to carry heavy suitcases

Review 45:Excellent staff who were very helpful

Review 46:Central location, good breakfast, kindly staff, authentic furnitures

Review 47:Staff very friendly and helpful. Great value for price.

Review 48:Good value for money in good location

Review 49:The city and the room

Review 50:The view is not what I expected, but you are a minute from the centre of town for compensation.

Review 51:Plenty of breakfast, good sleep. Kind hosts.

Review 52:Bed and the noise

Review 53:Breakfast all toghether like family

Review 54:Friendly people, staff and very clean.

Review 55:Very clean and maintained through my stay. Wonderful breakfast and cappuccinos. Attentive and helpful staff.

Review 56:Rooms were dated Breakfast was very basic

Review 57:Location Staff were very helpful Price was really good

Review 58:the location was excellent. beautiful view from the top floor.

Review 59:Clean, comfortable and staff was ver accommodating and helpful. Full breakfast included was wonderful.

Review 60:The hotel is in a good location, could be not easy to find at once, but it is not a problem at all. The owner is very kind and helpul person.

Review 61:Very tricky to find with a car, and parking is at foot of steep hill, however it is an ancient town not built for cars! Don't rely on sat nav as we ended up lost in a maze of narrow alleys.. No lift so fourth floor so only for the fitter visitors

Review 62:Nice staff very friendly . We had large room on top floor with view over rooftops to Tuscan countryside. I think this must be the best view in the hotel. The hotel has character , I think built early 1700's however it is one to remember.

Review 63:This hotel is in a great location and has a lot of character. There is free parking just a few steps away. The room is large and well appointed. Breakfast was simple but adequate. We booked only about 3 days ahead so did not have a room choice and overlooked a street leading out of one of the main gates of town. There was a lot of traffic noise but ear plugs helped. The guy at the desk readily pointed out the essentials to see as we arrived about 3 pm and planned to leave by 10 am. Most important here are the views so we walked up to the Fortezza Medicea di Girifalco, which is about as high as you can get in Cortona. There is staff at the desk despite other reviews stating the need to pre-arrange arrival time and the owner was very pleasant and helpful.

Review 64:Sergio was the perfect host, picking me up from Camucia on my night of arrival. The breakfast was huge and the wifi among the best I've experienced in Italy.

Review 65:We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Sabrina! Sergio was so helpful and friendly, we really enjoyed talking with him! The room was great, city parking was easy (and free), location was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend staying here, and might just have to return ourselves!

Review 66:Sergio as front man made our stay special. Not only collecting and dropping us off at the train station, but ensuring we knew every place that we need to see to fall in love with Cortona. The end result is I suspect we will be back

Review 67:Nothing.

Review 68:Sergio was a great host, emailing me prior to my arrival, then picked me up and dropped me back to the train station (buses and taxis are rare). Hotel was right in Cortona, rooms big and wifi was excellent.

Review 69:Not that I "didn't like it", but the room was a bit cold (it was cold outside), and the breakfast was basic. Just sharing ...

Review 70:The staff was excellent, and the location was perfect.

Review 71:Not one thing!

Review 72:The location was perfect. Just a brief walk to the main piazza and our favorite restaurant. The old world quaintness precious. Sancho was an accommodating host. He made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was tasty and adequate. Our room--excellent! The view of the tiled rooftops and Tuscan valley--ahhh. We loved this place and hope to return.

Review 73:To stay there only two nights (smile)

Review 74:We stayed (Phillipi) in a Hotel Italia in Cortona, and the staff was perfect, helpfull and friendlly. The Breakfast was unbelieveble in the last floor! It's a nice place to stay in Cortona, Close to the old city and the treatment are so nice! When i come back to Cortona certainlly we will stay there again!

Review 75:Bed was hard

Review 76:Sergio was most helpful - even drove us in his car to pickup luggage from our rental in lot outside the walled city. Close to everything in Cortona.

Review 77:The shower was a bit temperamental. I can imagine if you had a room next to the road it could be very noisy - as it is a road which is one of the main exits out of the town.

Review 78:Sergio was a fabulous host, who couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. There were a few rooms available as we were staying in the middle of the week and he gave us a choice of rooms. We had an amazing quiet room with a view at the top of the hotel. The location is great - a short walk to the town centre and to the free car park outside the town walls. You are offered free bottles of water to take whenever needed, which in the heat was a lovely touch.

Review 79:You could hear even the slightest noise from neighbors at night (thankfully there weren't many) and the room was a bit "claustrophobic" with just a small window looking at a wall. Not so cheap for what it is

Review 80:Good location, friendly and attentive stuff, clean.

Review 81:There was no elevator, so it could be inconvenient with heavy luggage.

Review 82:The owner was so nice, and we were picked up from the Camucia-Cortona station. Room was spacious, the location is convenient in the town and the breakfast was very good.

Review 83:Tutto era perfetto!

Review 84:The family suite was great with 2 good sized bedrooms. Our host was very helpful in recommending restaurants to go to and things to see. We had also booked a babysitter through the hotel which gave my husband and I the chance to have a meal together in beautiful Cortona on our own!

Review 85:No elevator (I forgot to ask) room had no a/c(very hot when there(85-89) ,stairs were a challenge because I use a cane

Review 86:Location is good . People who own were very grascious nice breakfast.

Review 87:The walls in the hotel are really thin, so you just have to watch yournoise level, but not a big deal.

Review 88:Great location. The owner, Sergio, gave us a map and told us how to getto certain places. We had a beautiful view of Tuscany from our windows. All together, a great weekend.

Review 89:The staff were extremely helpful; we were even picked up from Camucia station. It was spotlessly clean and the decor was very nice and new. The Internet was fast.

Review 90:Well....it didn't quite promise what it offered on the website. It's more an old palazzo with some nice but dated rooms which had the feel of a backpackers hostel rather than a purportedly three star hotel. The hotel fronts onto Via Roma which is the major route out of town so quite noisy in the morning. Breakfast is interesting and is "served" on a couple of tables in front of reception. Frankly it was ghastly, though interestingly it did get better on our last day when an Italian couple and child were also having breakfast....it's okay but overpriced

Review 91:Good location, 200 yards inside the gate with plentiful parking outside. 150 yards uphill to the main square (Piazza della Republica). Good restaurants within easy walking, the trattoria/pizzeria uphill before the arch into the square is good, fufluns pizzeria opposite Hotel Italia was very good and La Buccaria ristorante was also very good though pricier and the owner/Maitre d' was somewhat draconian to his staff and over effusive to the clientele, still each to their own.....

Review 92:Absolutely everything

Review 93:Staff was friendly and made us feel at home. Just a lovely place and great location.

Review 94:Very helpful host - went out of his way to make us comfortable and kindly stored our bags until we arranged onward travel

Review 95:Could not stay longer

Review 96:great staff and wonderful place to visit to enjoy the real Italy:0

Review 97:No extras, just basic hotel.

Review 98:Location and friendly proprietor.

Review 99:The hotel is central and the staff is very friendly, the breakfast was good.

Review 100:Spacious room! Good location and friendly staff. Very nice hotel

Review 101:Good location and beautiful hotel wish I stay more days in it.

Review 102:Shower

Review 103:Nice location, kind staff, historic building

Review 104:Absence of a lift Poor breakfast Main door closed during the day

Review 105:Friendliness of the staff Location Cleanliness Value for money

Review 106:The location is superb and the owners were delightful. Fabulous views from the 4th floor room!

Review 107:- Niente

Review 108:- Owner was extremely helpful and kind - Very central - Easy to park - Big rooms

Review 109:Just never felt squire comfortable there. Paper thin walls.

Review 110:Centrally located and accommodating
