Reviews for Archontiko Art Hotel

Review 1:Very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was very nice, with differential traditional pies and home made jams. Nice location of the hotel, close both to center of the town and to the port. Room was Nice and clean with excellent central heating, towels changed everyday.

Review 2:The property is nicely decorated and clean. It is perfectly situated in the beautiful seaside village of Galaxidi. The owner is very helpful and she will do everything to accommodate your needs.

Review 3:The hotel was beautifully decorated with local and traditional art. Each room is unique. The view from our room was amazing. The hotel is located close to the beach and to the center in a quiet neighbour. The beakfast is full of greek traditional products. Very hospitable owner.

Review 4:The fact that smoking was permitted at breakfast.

Review 5:The free upgrade to a Superior room. The friendly staff and the fact that the owner made us feel very welcome.

Review 6:Water on the bathroom floor - Shower curtain in a small shower area.

Review 7:Interesting decor, very comfortable beds, excellent buffet breakfast, good friendly service.

Review 8:The owner is very welcoming, and all rooms have amazing decoration. The breakfast was outstanding with lots of homemade delicacies. Very picturesque and quite village. By far the best hotel during our vacation in Greece.

Review 9:Was little hard to find the first time

Review 10:The breakfast is amazing, beautiful home cooked traditional food. The hosts are very warm and friendly. The rooms are unique and all different. Ours had a lovely 4 poster bed and opened to a balcony with a sea view. Beautiful setting and garden. Very peaceful and quiet. We could walk to all the restaurants etc.

Review 11:Our shower was faulty and could not be repaired during our two-day stay.

Review 12:Attention to detail in the decor; excellent (and authentically Greek) breakfast

Review 13:First off, we didn't get the room with a sea view we reserved through booking since it apparently was given to another couple instead, so this review relates to a different category. We were offered a room next to the reception (but had to pay the price of the reserved room). If we had not agreed to the room we would have had to look for another hotel in town, said the owner. So, we agreed to the room and were instantly disappointed by the super-thin walls where we heard guests (loudly coming in and out of the hotel every now and then) as well as every drop of water running through the building. It was somewhat frustrating at night when we couldn't get much sleep.

Review 14:Galaxidi is a great town and great visit. We would definitely go back to this scenic town any time. The hotel is a short walk away from the main harbour yet far away enough to remain a quiet surrounding. The breakfast Archontiko Art Hotel was original and really delicious with different homemade marmelades and pies. The wifi had excellent reception and bandwidth.

Review 15:We were initially put in a room with a glimpse of the sea, not the "sea view" for which we were paying. We asked to move to the top floor and were told first that it was fully booked and then that the rooms were more expensive. Finally we were moved to a room for three upstairs, which meant no "super king sized bed" as advertised but we did at least have a sea view. The other two rooms on this floor that would have qualified as having sea views, which had super king beds and are featured on the website, remained unoccupied for the duration of our stay. This appeared to be a ploy that we have encountered around the world where the best rooms are kept for last minute bookings and more will be charged for them.

Review 16:The room had dual aspect so it was possible to get a breeze and the bathroom had a window too. It was in a quiet location.

Review 17:Helpful owner. Great breakfast in nice terraced garden. Very quiet location but within easy reach of harbour and tavernas. Nice that most other guests were Greek.

Review 18:Impeccable place, with attention to detail, beautifully decorated, with all the amenities including free WiFi, refrigerator, comfortable bedding, etc, very clean and well maintained. The owner was friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was unbelievable: home-made cakes, pies and marmalade (apple/ginger and other unique tastes) among other delicious options. All included in a very competitive price for the midst of the summer season. Delphi's incredible ancient site is less than 30min away and Galaxidi is terrific. We are certainly coming back. Very highly recommended!

Review 19:Nothing comes to mind; it's just a good, nice place.

Review 20:This place makes an effort to be friendly, comfortable and pretty, and it manages magnifically.

Review 21:A very cozy little hotel, beautiful rooms, outstanding Greek breakfast, very friendly and helpful personnel. Ihana kodikas pikkuhotelli kävelymatkan päässä kylän keskustasta. Erinomainen kreikkalainen aamiainen ja loistava henkilökunta!

Review 22:The location, nice spot, most of the tourists are greeks, little gem at the sea, not far from Delphi. Breakfasts are great, all home made. The lady is very helpful. Nice little beach nearby.

Review 23:Nothing.

Review 24:The eclectic decor, the friendly welcome, helpful staff and great breakfast. While a little distance from the restaurants ( 10 minutes walk), it is a lovely neighbourhood and some rooms have a great sea view.

Review 25:Galaxidi is beautiful with many things to see, do and eat. Breakfast of Archondiko is top with home made products. Owners are very polite and friendly. I will be going again!

Review 26:The breakfast was great with lots of home made choices served in a lovely room with log fire. The family couldn't have been nicer, helpful, friendly. The views from the rooms were delightful. The location is in a peaceful setting near to the old harbour and a little way from restaurants and bars but not too far and the walk into the main part of town was lovely either along the seafront or through the delightful streets. Once near the old harbour the hotel is well signposted

Review 27:The only negative thing was that we didn't have the chance to stay for more days and prolong the pleasure of this accommodation!

Review 28:Archontiko Art hotel is a very well maintained building, with spacious and specially decorated interiors reminding of captains that probably inhibited it long ago. The room reserved for us had a touch of a fairy tale for pirates and lost treasures, and it overlooked at the sea and a very picturesque garden. It was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was marvellous, including home made pastries and pies traditionally baked. On top of all these, the hostess really made you feel unique and offered enlightening advice on the whereabouts of Galaxidi. We definitely enjoyed our stay and not onloy are we visiting it again, but we also suggest it to friends and future visitors of Galaxidi.

Review 29:The shower, I would have preferred a shower screen rather than the flimsy shower curtain which was useless.

Review 30:Very friendly staff. The room was very nicely decorated and bed very comfortable & the breakfast was very good.

Review 31:Everything was fine

Review 32:We were met in GAlaxidi by the owner of the hotel when we got lost, and she found us a restaurant. She was so helpful and absolutely charming. The hotel is highly recommended with a delicious breakfast. Mr and Mrs McKerrell

Review 33:The shower could be better.

Review 34:Excellent, well-presented room with a lovely view from balcony. Only a relaxing 10 minute walk to the main harbour and restaurants. Staff very attentive and helpful.

Review 35:Archontiko Art Hotel is a beautifully decorated guesthouse with a wonder garden, and is located on the quieter end of Galaxidi. The breakfasts are excellent. It was worth staying here and driving a little further to get to Delphi. We stayed in the classic double room with a balcony (garden view) and the bed was narrower than we were expecting for 2 people. I would suggest this room for only 1 person unless you are used to such a narrow bed.

Review 36:nothing

Review 37:We liked everything. Friendly staff could not do enough to help us. very enjoyable stay. Nice veranda and good sea view. Hotel could cater for all individuals from young family to old families. The decor suggests good for young couples on honeymoon or looking for a romantic weekend,

Review 38:We stayed at the Archontiko in September 2014. The lady that runs it is lovely and very helpful. The hotel was extremely clean and homely! The room was big enough and the balcony in the room had an amazing view to the sea! Highly recommend this hotel!

Review 39:The spelling on the bookings.com is Archontiko. In Greek, on the signs it is Arxontiko Seaview. It was a little confusing.

Review 40:I thought it was a wonderful hotel and enjoyed everything about it, once we found it. Finding it was a bit challenging.

Review 41:Beautiful place. Very friendly owners, help us organize our hiking tour of Lucious gorge Greeting with lovely homemade cherry liquor and cake. Clean and spacious rooms.Great place to relax.

Review 42:Nothing to complain about.

Review 43:Breakfast was excellent both in variety and quality. The service was warm and attentive. The hosts went out their way to meet our needs. They deserve an 11 out of 10 in this area. The hotel is tucked back into narrow streets but our GPS found it without much problem and if you rent a room in Galaxidi there is very little way to avoid being tucked back somewhere. That being said, the hotel is a 100 meters from the sea and convenient to the town. The decor of the hotel is unique and fun, just what it says an art hotel. We only spent one night here but seriously thought about revising our schedule just so we could relax here one more day. This is a great spot.

Review 44:The hotel is right at the end of town and a bit tricky to drive to, and a longer walk home at night, but then again it is also very peaceful as a result. The strange Greek obsession with flimsy damp shower curtains rather than glass/plastic cubicles also endures.

Review 45:A very friendly welcome and a pomegranate for luck as we left, in this charmingly idiosyncratic hotel with individually designed rooms, all with balconies and a sea view. The home made breakfast of baked eggs, creamy yoghurt, pies, home made jams etc, was the nicest we had in Greece.

Review 46:The breakfast was comprised of high quality homemade cakes and jams. The room was thematically decorated and with a stunning view of the sea. Hospitality wise, you could not wish for better service. The owner went to great lengths to ensure that everything was in order. The room was spacious and very clean.

Review 47:Location, small coves nearby for morning and evening swims, feel of a real neighborhood, easy parking, out of center but you can walk in less than 10 minutes and its a loveley walk! Breakfast was wonderful with diverse home-made pastries and pies every morning, numerous local made preserves - lovely parting gift of a bag of freshly-made cookies, that I ate while driving. (within 30 minutes of departure)

Review 48:We had a very nice stay, the hotel was very nicely decorated, the room was spacious, and the staff was very kind. The breakfast was amazing, with all the homemade jams and local products.

Review 49:The garden surroundings need some more attention, lots of useless things are just laying around.

Review 50:Very nice staff and cosy, well-maintained building. Good advises for the local taverns.

Review 51:The view was disappointing and not what was expected from the photos advertised; the location was disappointing as it was too far from restaurants and main part of the village

Review 52:The room was very comfortable and the decor reflected the location and style of area - very nicely fitted out

Review 53:The best greek breakfast we got in the whole trip. All done with fresh products and it was delicious!! The owner was a lovely person that always help us with a smile. Each room is decorated in a diferent way but all of them are very beautiful! The bathroom was big and the bed confortable.

Review 87:Nice and quiet. Large, clean rooms, good breakfast, 5mins from beach and local town. Quiet and away from bars in town. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

Review 88:A simpler, higher quality breakfast would've made it flawless

Review 89:Fantastic room, big four poster. Lovely view. Very cheap considering.. Rula couldn't do enough for us. Recommend +++++

Review 90:Excellent breakfast, attentive owner, she was extremely keen to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Beware of the delicious but explosive homemade cakes (they are covered in icing sugar!) :)

Review 91:It's a great hotel and each room has a different decoration. The owner is lovely and the breakfast she makes is wonderful. We loved the decoration, the atmosphere, it felt like home. We would have loved to stay longer. I would like to go again soon.

Review 92:Very nice and friendly staff. Since it was low-season, we got upgraded to a superior room for free. Rich buffet breakfast. Well decorated rooms. Good wifi. Good location.

Review 93:Lovely place with a very refined decoration! The host is very kind, and will welcome you with a lot of joy. The quality of the breakfast is very high: a lot of home-made products.

Review 94:Would have liked to have a screen on the patio door so we could have left he door open during the night without letting bugs in. Other than that...the experience was great and we would stay there again.

Review 95:The location and the staff were great. The breakfast was also amazing. All locally sourced items. The room comfortable and the design was interesting.

Review 96:difficult to find depending where you arrive from

Review 97:very friendly host; wonderful breakfast; well decorated rooms; very quiet and charming, Galaxidi is very nice

Review 98:There is nothing really important to mention.

Review 99:Galaxidi is a beautiful, romantic small costal town, highly recommended as a hub for organizing trips to Delphi, Arachova, narby monastiries etc. Archontico Art Hotel is very well located, although not really in the center of Galaxidi, but just around 10 minutes walk away from the port. We enjoyed sitting on the small balcony with amazing sea view. Excellent brekfast was served in the garden. Parking next to the hotel. Extremely friendly and helpful Owner and stuff.

Review 100:We liked absolutely everything!! Amazing place to stay. Highly recommend! Little family hotel, very friendly owner, amazing atmosphere of old fisherman's house in the modern building. Homemade food for breakfast. Stayed in dozen of other hotels in Greece, some of which were twice as expensive, but this place beats them all by far! Will stay there for longer next time we are in Greece.

Review 101:Nothing to report.

Review 102:A gem of a hotel! All rooms decorated differently. We were the only ones staying so we could choose. Sea view, very very comfortable bed, nice bathroom. The following morning we had the most amazing breakfast with lovely homemade bread, cake, jams etc. wish we could have stayed longer. Wifi very good. Quiet tucked away hotel. Easy to walk to the town.
