Review 1：perfect location directly at the seaside with beautiful view from balcony, wide selection in breakfast and dinner buffet, cordial staff, it is worth to visit again
Review 2：Rooms and facilities need refurbishing. Dripping tap in bathroom that wasn't fixed despite several complaints. Bathroom not cleaned upon arrival, used ear cleaning bud and hair on the floor that was never cleaned up during the entire stay. This is unacceptable at any price point let alone the high rate they charge in peak season.

Review 10：At the very beginning, the reception manager rejected our booking via Bookingcom. They plan to provide us with another room, not acceptable for us. At departure, the reception manager did try to receive more money as compared with the price indicated in the Bookingcom, 159 euro per day instead of 139. Tricky hotel management!

Review 13：For all travelers to this hotel: Please be aware that there is not air-condition in any room in this hotel! The private beach of the hotel is rocky with concrete, not really worthy! The hotel is on old building not renovated. It is really overpriced! Additionally you to have to pay around 10 Eur per day for the parking.

Review 18：This unique and special establishment has a prime location in Lovran and the rooms facing the sea are treat, with balconies and beautiful views of the surrounding. The hotel staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful and a relaxed atmosphere blends well in this spacious and historic space, with soul and charme, waiting to be restored to the glamour it deserves (former Hotel Excelsior built in 1912).

Review 20：Yes, some elements of the hotel are a bit dated but it wasn't as tired as some of the other reviews had let me to believe. The hotel has actually retained its classic charm quite well. We had a spacious sea view corner room, which had high ceilings, a big balcony with stunning views, classic furniture but updated bathroom. The staff are all very friendly, especially the girls at reception. We spent 2 nights here, then came back for another 3. Loved it.

We paid extra fora sea view (room 315), which was the only nice thing about the room.Dirty, old, and falling apart, the room was so bad that we consideredleaving as soon as we arrived. There were chunks missing from the walls,missing light fixtures, and rust and dust everywhere. The hallway on the3rd floor also smelled terrible. Furthermore, in the shower, there was alarge amount of mould and cracked enamel - everything needed replacing.

Review 28：Our problem was that we arrived and were told there was a problem with our room, so we were given the villa behind the hotel. Nothing wrong with the villa but the fact was that we purposely booked the hotel for the view. We complained and got a chance to change, but by then it was too late and we were tired (we carried bags ourselves). IT would be nice to be advised of the hotel problem before arriving and given the choice before setting in the room.

Review 37：The rooms not facing the see are old and desperately in need of renovation (the floor is not straight – holes in the floor, shower is almost not usable, hair dryer was falling apart by simple touching it). Also an issue is the cleanness of the room. I was disappointed and don’t recommend the hotel unless you get one of the best rooms facing the see. I plead to the owner Liburnia hotels to renovate this hotel, since it is taking a too good location to be treated this way.

Review 45：Changes in the uses of the terrace and green areas plateau above the beach, which is now reserved only for guests of part of the hotel which are located in the apartment (renovated house), so you should think about expanding the hotel beach , which is possible. In recent years the organization of using the beach was much better

(Just have in mind: surrounding gardens, and 'Lungomare promenade' will bring the shadow on beach after 6PM.) 'Price-performance'+location just great!!

The bathing facilities are terrible with just a rather grotty concrete patch to swim from, a shame as there is so much space there where a wonderful swimming area could be created. Lovran is a bit down at heel although there is a pretty old town.

It is now getting some problematic lifting (and apparently there will be more of it) but it still has a charm. Excellent view over the bay of Kvarner, with the city of Rijeka lights across the bay. Demand a balcony room with a sea view, everything less is worthless...
