Reviews for Carnegie Court Hotel
Review 1:I had continental breakfast, the basket for croissant/pastry was empty when I went in, still not refilled when I left, despite asking for it to be refilled. At the end, staff brought out some pastry to me, the apple on the pastry I picked was cold. Bathroom needed an update. No top sheet (did not feel comfortable wondering how often they wash the double duvet cover).
Review 2:near to the company I was visiting. good wifi signal.
Review 3:Will not be returning to this hotel again. Have stayed on numerous occasions and never had any issues. Was extremely insulted to be asked for a 100€ cash deposit as well as the money for the room. Another young couple had checked in before us and weren't asked for a deposit. Absolutely furious over it and will make sure I never stay here again. Talk about being completely singled out!!!!!!!
Review 4:Rooms were very cold! Reception were rude as we were a young group of friends that travelled up. Staff looked at us as if we had two heads and we were in the wrong hotel!! Snobiness is not a good trait in a hotel! Also demanded 100 euro deposit from each of us that I doubt any other people would have had to paid such an amount! Definetely will not be returning.
Review 5:The location was good for a night at the Wright venue!
Review 6:No bad comments.
Review 7:Staff are very helpful and friendly. Had honeymoon suite which was a stunning room loved it the four poster bed is beautiful and very comfy. Loved everything about the hotel.
Review 8:Can't fault a thing, it ticked all the boxes for us!
Review 9:perfect for a weekend break, would have loved to stay another night!the hotel is warm & welcoming, the staff were really friendly, helped book taxis and reserved us a table in their restaurant (which was great) hotel is just a 2 minute walk from the main street, plenty to do and see but with the bar and restaurant on site you have everything you need.breakfast was just what the doctor ordered, plenty to choose from & we weren't rushed out when we finishedb which is a big plus for me!will definitely be back, thanks guys
Review 10:Manager in restaurant was just very rude , the place was under staffed, and there was a different price for the same drink everytime I went tothe bar, the rooms were only half cleaned as there was rubbish from thelast quest still in the bed room, will never go back to this hotel
Review 11:When we arrived we were told we would have to pay a €100 deposit, this was not stated upon booking. Water pressure of cold water was broken leading to a shower of pure scalding water. Went for a few drinks in the local town and when we arrived back we were locked out and there was a sign telling us to call the night porter and his phone number. My phone was dead so we knocked for 15 minutes to no avail. Luckily the petrol station across the road is open 24hr and luckily the guy had a suitable charger otherwise we would have been locked out in the cold October night for a lot longer. Really took the joy out of our stay.
Review 12:Check-in and out staff were very friendly.
Review 13:I did not like it when I extended the stay for one more day and they raised the Price by 60 euro. If I knew they would do it, I would have checked out. They never informed me the price would be 35 percent higher than the rate I was already given.
Review 14:I like that I booked a fair price on Booking.com for 4 days
Review 15:The hotel was a short taxi ride away from the airport and cheaper than the big airport hotels. The restaurant was very nice, frequented by a few local dubliners on date nights
Review 16:Booked hotel after working a 30 hr shift. The hotel charged 176 euro forone night single occupancy. When I arrived the shower was not working. There was no one available to fix the shower. I was given a pliers touse in order to have a shower. When I complained the following morning Iwas told "I will let the manager know. Thanks for staying". Iheard " we have got your money so good bye". Will not bestaying there again.
Review 17:The noise from the DJ at the bar kept us awake for several hours. Would definitely stay again, but would request rooms as far from the bar as possible.
Review 18:The staff was excellent, the hotel was very clean & inviting, & the food from the restaurant/bar was really good.
Review 19:The early bird special evening meal was not good. I would not have it again. The veg were raw and the beef was very tough.
Review 20:Great venue. Friendly staff and comfortable bedrooms.
Review 21:The room and location were fine, dinner was good, the restaurant staff was quirky but pleasant. The desk clerk processed my credit card in US dollars at a ridiculous exchange rate that cost me an extra $ 5.
Review 22:It was ridiculously overpriced at 280 euros for the night . The room was tiny , smelled of mold and had four twin beds crammed into it . It's advertised as A hotel and it is not . It's just a B&B with a few rooms .
Review 23:Staff were nice and the place was pretty central !
Review 24:Noisy party until 3am either side of room. Staff moving tables in rooms at 5am. Broken chair in room. Badly stained towel.
Review 25:Within easy reach of airport. 24hr reception.
Review 26:We got the last room which happened to be the Bridal suite and it was amazing. We had to drive for three hours to get here. The restaurant was also excellent.
Review 27:Standard of room very poor and bed was uncomfortable. Rooms need refurbished. Rooms too small.
Review 28:Good atmosphere and entertainment in bar. Staff excellent.
Review 29:I felt the bedroom was drab in decor. My beds headboard was loose so squeaked every time I moved. My sidelight did not work. Did report my faults to reception on check out.
Review 30:Location ideal for access to airport. Good restaurants in area so not confined to eating in hotel.
Review 31:To have a breakfast, you have to order it. Menu said: "Smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, choice of bread, etc". I order it as "Salmon, please" pointing to the row in the menu. The waitress said "very well" and brought me just salmon, nothing besides it.
Review 32:Excellent room, especially the bed. Tea set is very useful! Very friendly concierges.
Review 33:I have stayed at this hotel before and the room was fine....this time the room and bathroom was smaller...also warm night and left window open....was woken up with the sound of saws cutting metal outside at 6:30 am!
Review 34:Reasonable distance to the airport....has a nice restaurant on site. Friendly staff.
Review 35:Breakfast, not worth the money and my details were not what the hotel had so i jad to pay more for the rooms.
Review 36:Good for a one night stay, breakfast not worth the value for the money. No ice buckets in the rooms, also make sure to call the hotel directly once you have confirmed your room to make sure all your requirements are as you expect them or you will pay for the extras.
Review 37:Breakfast was not great - some fresh fruit and real Orange juice would be a big improvement.
Review 38:Receptionist was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
Review 39:Close to the airport but but not at the airport. Swords is a great little town with lots of great food, pubs, etc. and it's all walkable. ***if you are catching a cab from the airport to Swords pick it up at arrivals, as opposed to departures. The cabbies will get pissed if you pull them out of the arrivals line for such a short trip. But the cabbies at departures just dropped someone off so they don't mind making the short trip.
Review 40:Why the night staff would not stop young people in and out of each others rooms in the early hours of the morning, these people had to be in the residents bar until about 2.30 p.m. then they came upstairs and talked at the top of their voices, and carried on, why the night porter would not say to them when they entered the lifts please do not disturb other residents is beyond me.
Review 41:Everything was good, the staff friendly, hotel clear. Bed comfortable. We had no problem with anything
Review 42:Small town feel of hotel and welcoming reception staff. As a single woman traveling, I felt quite secure staying at this hotel. I wish I could have stayed longer to explore the village. Highly recommend this property!
Review 43:We stayed here for 1 night between flights out of dublin. It is a $10 cab ride to the Dublin Airport and is located close to lots of restaurants and convenience stores. Shower wasnt too good and took minutes to heat up but other than that it was a nice hotel
Review 44:We loved the friendliness of the staff. They work hard and were always busy but found time to chat and help us...from the maid service in the rooms to the check-in, bar, and restaurant staff...all good people.
Review 45:The room was very nice, my only issue was the bed. Was the saggiest King-size bed I've ever slept on.
Review 46:Nice location, 12pm check out, good WiFi signal.
Review 47:Bed was a little soft for our liking but was not by any means anything to complain about.
Review 48:Nice location, food was excellent and staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 49:The night porter was rude.
Review 50:Bar food is great carvery is excellent, reception staff are lovely. We were upgraded to bridal suite as it was my birthday very impressed.
Review 51:I booked through Booking.com only minutes before my arrival yet the room had just been assigned and was ready for me, great service.. Fast WiFi all over the hotel also which is essential these days..
Review 52:I just stayed at the Carnegie Court for 8 nights while home visiting my dad. The staff were lovely from the moment I arrived. The room was spotless and cleaned every day no matter what time I left and came back. The Harp pub attached was great and has very good food.
Review 53:Rooms very basic. Looking tired and needing a refurb. Lighting very dark, and air-con insanely loud. Bathrooms need some attention. Quality of breakfast could be improved.
Review 54:Excellent wifi strength.
Review 55:furniture, carpets, curtains, bedding, walls, pictures etc all ancient, carpet grubby looking, needs a total revamp for price charged
Review 56:bed was old but comfortable and bedding in need of update, was clean. bathroom area modern enough.
Review 57:no smoking rooms
Review 58:room was beautiful as well as the hotel, great service for the night it was and lovely staff.. would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Review 59:The lighting in the room, very dark, and the air conditioning very loud
Review 60:The staff were extremely helpfull, gave assistance with ordering taxis, and as we were having difficulty foodwise, due to allergies, looked after us .
Review 61:On arrival the receptionist was not very friendly. However, the receptionist on the following morning made up for it - very pleasant to deal with
Review 62:Very comfortable hotel - nice, cosy atmosphere
Review 63:We were a large group and most families had trouble with heating system. My own parents were freezin and had to sit in reception as their room was so cold and my nephews slept in their clothes for heat. The main issue was the next day when we complained the receptionist was very defensive and not at all apologetic
Review 64:The hotel rooms are dated and in need of modernising.
Review 65:Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location suited our purpose well. Free parking is a plus. While we didn't eat there the menu was very inviting and good value.
Review 66:We were kept awake most off the night by music the lift open and closen basically could here everything that was going on around us it was early hours of the morning and we getting to sleep.
Review 67:I enjoyed my stay it was clean and the reception were very nice and helpful.
Review 68:Checking out.
Review 69:The Space in the building was amazing, and there was something different in every bar, 11 in total, the food in the main Resturaunt was good value for money and very tasty.
Review 70:staff very helpful and accomodating. i requested early check in and got it . this is rarely ever given in dublin. would definately return to this hotel.
Review 71:Can think of nothing I didn't like.
Review 72:Very good restaurant, plus five bars in the hotel. Good staff. Hotel was clean and our section was quiet, not sure about all the rooms.
Review 73:Weren't warned about noise from nightclub at check in but when we commented on it the next morning the response was excellent. Very professional and friendly
Review 74:Good location, lovely hotel and bar. Excellent staff
Review 75:Freezing cold No hot water for shower
Review 76:The room was large and spacious It was so cold though and no hot water for a shower The heater in the room only heated the carpet underneath and there was no radiator in the bathroom Needs updating
Review 77:The staff was great. When we needed to request a new room because the non-smoking room had an overpowering smell indicating it had been used for smoking, the staff found us another room that worked well.
Review 78:My credit card didn't go through. Receptionist was happy to process manually. As she was doing so I pointed out she had input the expiry date incorrectly. I got a bit of a 'shut up know it all' look and was told that 'it shouldn't matter'. Obviously the card declined and she said she would 'try it my way'. When the transaction went through with a surprised 'looks like you were right' I was left pondering what I could have done with those extra 4 minutes of my life. Ooh, write this review?
Review 79:Clean. Modern decor and rooms didn't look like they were last updated in the 70s (like Bewleys). Everything was in order.
Review 80:I arrived at the hotel to find there was a debs organised for the night. I was expecting lots of noise and a terrible night sleep - but the hotel staff ensured it went off without a hitch and I got a great nights sleep in a lovely room! Very impressed.
Review 81:location was very convenient. staff was hospitable and efficient. breakfast was good enough, not too good. access to out city trip is very good. nice room.
Review 82:Hotel overbooked and 2 of our group had no room available even though our booking was in the system. We had to accommodate the 2 ladies in our room until 8 pm. We were asked to move to another hotel at our own expense. When we declined they suddenly had a room free. After a night of excessive noise pollution from a night club and 21st birthday party till 4 am we realised why they hadn't originally let this room. It was not fit for human habitation due to the noise of the function room directly below. Noise started again at 8 am from young residents who had been at the party. No staff intervened- it was a horrific night and no apology was offered upon check out until I complained very forcefully. The whole situation was handled very badly by the management. We were looking forward to a nice night away and we were stressed from the minute we arrived until the minute we left.
Review 83:Not a big choice of food in the bar, no draught beer. Nowhere quiet to sit and drink
Review 84:Proximity to airport for early morning departure, clean comfortable, quiet room.
Review 85:Nothing
Review 86:From the beginning of the reception to the end, the Hotel Manager/Wedding Planner ensured that everything went to plan She was excellent as was all of the staff Full marks to all involved The meals and food in general was lovely I cannot say enough about this Hotel and will certainly recommend it Five Stars*****
Review 87:It would be helpful to have printed directions with map to car rental returns and airport. Also, for those going to airport early, it would be nice to have small breakfast available. I would have liked to have a blanket instead of thick comforter.
Review 88:This was a very comfortable hotel with upscale feel. Staff was very helpful.
Review 89:a bit pricey without breakfast included but possibly reflects Dublin prices and the area
Review 90:nice reception and outdoor seating areas breakfast tasty and served to you at table room very comfortable and clean very quiet despite late night music staff pleasant and courteous close to good shopping centre
Review 91:only complaint was shower not good but reported to reception and they said they would look into this.
Review 92:very nice first impression, reception very welcome and staff very nice, room good value very clean and comfortable. Bar good food excellent and staff very friendly.

Review 94:Its location , close to the airport yet far enough away that planes arent shaking the foundations and a stroll in swords village is nice with all the shops etc .... The harp bar was very nice and food was excellent .
Review 95:no complaints
Review 96:For shopping and eating out Swords is excellent and this hotel is within walking distance of anything you need. A great weekend away. An active bar and lovely comfortable rooms. It has everything.
Review 97:Very difficult to sleep due to pub playing loud music downstairs until 3am. Not ideal when we had to get up at 4am for our flight!
Review 98:Decent sized room and bathroom Friendly staff
Review 99:Limited room service menu, business travel so wifi was necessary but apparently did not work at the end of the hotel I was at. Needed to print but document had to be emailed to receptionist which meant privileged documentation was being made accessible, an area for business clients would be suggested and a fee would be no problem. No gluten free safe option available on room service menu. Bar was very loud. Just constructive criticism overall good experience.
Review 100:Staff friendly and very obliging. Clean. Great parking. Spacious rooms.
Review 101:The receptionist could not find my name on their system, I showed her the email confirmation. Later, she showed me an email from booking.com confirming my arrival. After almost 20 minutes, I had to plead with her to give me a room as I was getting really stressed up after a day at work, and leaving my home in London at 5.15am. I got to the hotel around 6pm on 28th July. The receptionist did not really apologise for the incovenience.
Review 102:€30 taxi ride from Dublin if you want to go to city centre. No airconditioning. Wake up call came half hour too late on airport day.
Review 103:Bar was fantastic. Huge with lots of options...pub, night club, sports bar all in one. Outside roof terrace for restaurant.Close to airport. €3.05 bus ride to city centre bus stop at hotel.
Review 104:The hotel location meant that we had easy access to the motorway which made our trips out much easier. The hotel room was large and comfortable. The staff at reception, in the restaurant and bar were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good in the morning.
Review 105:There were two weddings on the two nights and music played until the early hours of the morning not much sleep unfortunately
Review 106:It was convenient to town centre
Review 107:Went into bar for meal was ignored by first staff member and then asked other staff member for meal details but she must have had a date on later as she seemed to be in another planet so we went into restaurant which was excellent.
Review 108:Everything hotel decor covered in beautiful flower baskets nice room reception staff very helpful food was of a very high standard
