Reviews for Ganimede Hotel

Review 1:The bed was a little creaky so beware if you are on your honeymoon or are a light sleeper.

Review 2:I feel like a broken record but breakfast was amazing. And the staff recommendation for dinner was excellent too. It was the best we ate hands down. The rooms were the largest we encountered our entire trip. We were in the original house. I might ask for the ground floor next time just because my husband had knee surgery and the stairs were tough on him. Try and stay Thursday morning, it is the local "fruit market" which really means farmers market and it is outstanding. The little touches, welcome wine, gifts of jam and an orientation of the town were greatly appreciated.

Review 3:They had upgraded us to a suite without any extra charge because the suite was available. The hotel is very charming. The breakfast is a homemade dream. I'd come back just for the breakfast

Review 4:We were greeted with homemade liquor and cake , both absolutely delicious!!. We loved the outstanding breakfast, each morning, with homemade jams, chutneys (my favorite), baked goods, eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice and many more delicious items. The room was very comfortable with a large bathroom. Our stay was very pleasant and we were extremely happy we had chose this charming hotel! I've included photos of the homemade liquor [in the making], and a beautiful bougainvillea plant in the village. Enjoy!

Review 5:The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. The ambiance was relaxing and beautiful. The breakfasts were a special treat. Galaxidi is a picturesque town with excellent restaurants and tavernas. There is also hiking.

Review 6:We opted to stay overnight in Galaxidi because it would be an easy drive from there to Delphi the next morning, because small ports are fun etc. etc. Both the town and the hotel were backed by strong recommendations - in the event, both turned out to be absolute gems that far exceeded our expectations. The Hotel Ganimede is definitely my sort of place - a building of some genuine age and character, in this case prettily decorated with a variety of nautical details (and very tastefully done). I had emphasised when booking that I was travelling with my grown-up son, and that we would need to be appropriately accommodated. This was duly noted, and prior to our arrival we had already been given a free upgrade to the suite, which has a separate bedroom area on an upper level. The room was outstandingly spacious and comfortable, and attractively furnished. The facilities - shower, air-conditioning, wi-fi, were all of excellent quality, as was the kitchenette (which, unfortunately, we were not around long enough to make real use of), which included a splendidly large and very cold 'fridge. The generous breakfasts are, most deservedly, famous far and wide, and I'm sure many reviews will pinpoint a range of culinary details. I shall restrain myself to mentioning the particular deliciousness of the yoghurt (and its special texture) and the wonderful home-made preserves. All was served and set out with grace and friendliness.Chrisoula was very helpful about parking our car when we arrived. The hotel doesn't have a private parking area, and I suppose that there might at times be difficulties about finding a place in the street, but we fitted in, and were no distance at all from the hotel entrance. There are more than enough good restaurants within less than five minutes walk from the hotel, and the hotel staff were most helpful with recommendations.

Review 7:the bed wasn't the best.

Review 8:the location is very good. the hospitality of the staff was excellent. the breakfast was one of the best in our trip and it is so nice to finish such a good trip with kind of this hotel.

Review 9:Wonderful courtyard ambience and the breakfast. The variety of local foods served with great preserves, fresh bread and the best eggs I have ever had.

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:Very nice breakfast. Clean, specious, very nicely and traditionaly decorated rooms. The yard is excellent place to enjoy your breakfast/coffee or lunch. Very friendly and polite stuff.

Review 12:It was really comfortable and in such a special building full of character, staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing - perfect way to start the day!

Review 13:absolutely really nothing

Review 14:the hospitality of the host and personnel is absolutely stunning. We had a great time - unfortunately not long enough. The award winning breaksfast is breathtaking! We continue to think back about the great time experienced at the Ganimede hotel.

Review 15:Welcoming staff. Wonderful breakfast served in front of a fire. Beautiful gardens. Excellent jams and remarkably creative baked goods. The room is well designed, comfortable beds.

Review 16:Fantastic location, great court yard, super nice owner who makes the best breakfast with their home made bread, jams and chutney. The owner brought us a candle for ambiance and wine glasses for our cocktails on our balcony. Very thoughtful.

Review 17:Room was small

Review 18:Homey atmosphere. Excellent breakfast. Galaxidi is great place to visit and we wish we would have had time to spend more than one night. We enjoyed the maritime museum and walking along the waterfront.

Review 19:Nothing - its perfect!

Review 20:The staff and the owner's warmth Hospitality and professional travel Advice and arrangements The lovely garden Magnificent breakfast Charming rooms Five minutes from the waterfront

Review 21:Can't think of anything we did not like.

Review 22:We appreciated everything about Gamimede. Our room was quite large with a sitting area and loft. There was a small kitchen facility which we did not use. The grounds are pretty shade trees which was very much appreciated in hot July. The breakfast is outstanding with wonderful pastries, eggs as you like them, juices, etc. we would return in a heartbeat.

Review 23:The fly screen on the balcony door didn't work.

Review 24:Very welcoming - complementary fruit served in courtyard on arrival, very helpful staff. Great breakfast!! The courtyard is a lovely place to hang out and drink a beer.

Review 25:Tiny bathroom with the tiniest shower but very clean. Simple sheets but very clean. Kids beds were just matteraces on the floor which they were not impressed with.

Review 26:Very nice owners. Good setting for breakfast. Excellent breakfast. Very clean.

Review 27:Breakfast is to die for! Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 28:Nothing.

Review 29:The room, the staff, and the "pantagrüelico" (plentiful) breakfast. The best I've ever had.

Review 30:Sumptuous, award winning, breakfast and large comfortable room.

Review 31:Cozy rooms with a lot of character. Also a great breakfast, where the owner/cook experiments with a large variety of jams/preserves.

Review 32:Amazing amazing breakfast and occasional afternoon snacks. Incredibly nice people.

Review 33:Bed was very stiff

Review 34:Lovely family run business.

Review 35:Lovely owners & staff, beautiful breakfast including Christo's wonderful pies and lovely rooms - the scent of Jasmine as u sit in the garden

Review 36:That did not have the te to stay longer, but I intend to repair that

Review 37:Everything, but specially the frienlimess and efficiency of the owner

Review 38:the atmosphere, the warm welcome, the personal touch from the staff till the owner. only good impressions!

Review 39:Lovely old house and courtyard garden. Wonderful breakfasts with home-made jams etc and fresh baking.

Review 40:Warm hospitality and fabulous served breakfast with daily changes, also the delightful courtyard in which breakfast was served. Home made lemonade on arrival and surprise afternoon snacks left in our room we're an added thoughtful bonus. Hostess putting great effort into caring for her guests made for a very enjoyable stay. Would recommend the Ganimede and Galixidi.

Review 41:The internet was slow in the room. Not that I minded much, it was good to not look at emails for a day!

Review 42:Their breakfast is truly exceptional! Krisoula, the owner was there herself making the breakfast. They make the jams and marmalades in house and we bought 4 jars to bring back. It was a spacious 2 room suite. They even brought hot milk at night for the kids. We felt we were treated like family. Awesome experience.

Review 43:The bathrooms are quite basic and there are no phones in the rooms, but these are minor inconveniences and not unreasonable in a hotel of this grade.

Review 44:Very helpful and friendly staff who gave meaningful assistance, such as checking opening hours for attractions and local business (especially helpful in the off-season), without having to be asked. The breakfast - all homemade, traditional Greek fare - is the kind of authentic experience that distinguishes traveling from mere tourism: delicious and served with flare by owner Chrisoula. Room was bright, quiet, attractively furnished, spacious and comfortable with a private balcony. The garden courtyard filled with flowers and birds is a delight to relax in. Galaxidi itself is lovely in a stunning seaside setting within a 35 min drive of Delphi.

Review 45:On a characterless street with no harbour view

Review 46:Welcoming and helpful Large room and good facilities Courtyard served good breakfast Quiet location / peaceful Easy parking

Review 47:That we only stayed 2 nights!

Review 48:Friendliness, wonderful breakfast, clean of rooms. The Ganimede is a great hotel to stay in and visit Delphi. Galaxidi is a more relaxing and less touristy than staying in Delphi

Review 49:The staff was really helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was served and not on a buffet style. We stayed there only for a night but you could easily stay in Ganimede for a few days.

Review 50:The quite, charm and hospitality. All of the staff were more thanpleasant. The coutyard offered a cool and green place place to sit andrelax from the heat. This was the highlight of all the hotels we stayedin during our ten-day visit to Greece.

Review 51:- Chrisoula the owner treated us as if we were guest in her personal home! Very warm, and passionate to ensure we were totally comfortable. - Incredible breakfast , with homemade ... Just about everything! - beautiful and spacious room, great value for room rate. - beautiful courtyard to relax in morning for breakfast and the afternoon for cocktails. - convenient location. - of all our Europe travels and stays, we wish we could bottle the Ganimede and have it be our Europe wide boutique option for ALL our stays!

Review 52:Nothing!!

Review 53:The breakfasts are probably the best I have had. Everything was home made and delicious. The room was simple but lovely, and the facilities are wonderful. Chrisoula recommended wonderful restaurants (delicious food), an amazing tour guide, and souvenir shop (for Delphi). Overall one of the most enjoyable stays I have had anywhere.

Review 54:nothing!

Review 55:Superb situation in a delightful town. Tastefully decorated, and probably the nicest place I've stayed in 35 years of travelling in Greece. Amazing breakfasts!

Review 56:We loved staying at the Ganimede and would definitely return but wewould ask for a room on the first floor, because we did have some rathernoisy guests staying above us. We hate to say anything at all negativeabout this lovely hotel and do recommend it most highly but feel thatlight sleepers would appreciate this information.

Review 57:Galaxidi is the most beautiful, unspoilt waterside town in Greece, andthe Ganimede, with its historic character and homely family ambience isexactly the place to stay which corresponds in spirit with that of thetown. We stayed in December and so couldn't enjoy sitting in thelovely courtyard, but the open fire which warmed us while we enjoyed thefabulous breakfast spread was unforgettable, as was the welcome.

Review 58:breakfast friendly and helpful personal quiet surroundings good restaurantts walking distance

Review 59:Room excellent. Nice people. Great Breakfast. Lovely Stay. If you get chance this IS a place to stay and relax for a while.

Review 60:The garden, the old Greek house.

Review 61:Breakfast in the inner court yard was wonderful - both from the location aand the exceptional quality of the mostly home made food served.

Review 62:The personal attention of the owners in every detail
