Reviews for Amalia Hotel Delphi

Review 1:The rooms would be better to be renovated (quite old building).

Review 2:The location was perfect.excellent view! The kindness of the staff, whenever you need them! The breakfast was delicious!!!

Review 3:Perfect location, nice clean rooms, amazing lobby! Ideal for those who seek a calm place to stay after a ski ride, avoiding all the buzz of Arachova.....

Review 4:No be provided by double bed instead of previously asked for this. No parking space available for all the clients-overcrowed-very difficult to park my car

Review 5:Location

Review 6:The hotel building and personel feels a bit "tired" and is in need of a general lifting, the breakfast is rich but of a very poor quality.

Review 7:Perfect location, private parking, spacious rooms, great view from the room and the general design of the hotel rooms and common spaces.

Review 8:Bed was a little hard. Hotel seemed a little tired - could do with some paint and a garden uplift.

Review 9:Excellent location/ stunning views from balcony.

Review 10:We used Delphi as a stop over between Athens and Lefkada. The hotel is comfortable, the restaurant's buffet dinner excellent (a large selection of tasty food) and the staff friendly and helpful.

Review 11:This is a fantastic classic hotel from the 60's. For architectural design buffs this ranks with the best. Well maintained, furnished with its original furnishings and staffed with delightful people.

Review 12:No air conditioning. They have central air, which for me, as a brit is pathetic. I could not sleep, it was simply too hot. They need air con units in each room that are user adjustable. The central air fan of inadequate cool air was quite simply pathetic.

Review 13:Very attractive, modern, clean

Review 14:The swimming pool hours seemed short; we arrived at 8:30 p.m. after a long hot drive, and the pool had closed at 8:00 p.m.

Review 15:The decor reflects the hotel administration's respect for its 1964 vintage. Beautifully maintained.

Review 16:Pool area needs more attention.

Review 17:Delphi well worth a day. Hotel with a60's/early 70's decor was great for us. Pool a bonus after sites but needed a weed and bartender! There was only us in it... Buffet simple but not exciting and breakfast very ordinary. Would recommend the hotel though as views and staff were great.

Review 18:Nothing not to like

Review 19:The staff were very helpful and polite, my query regarding the AC was dealt with immediately. The location is superb, rooms are large and well equipped.

Review 20:Love the sliding wooden screens that let the breeze through. The view of the Gulf of Corinth from our balcony is spectacular. Welcoming fruit bowl and bottles of water. Great swimming pool. Be sure to ask for a room with a view. It is on the opposite end of the town so you need to drive to the archeological site.

Review 21:Picky point....hard bed :(

Review 22:The style of the building, the friendliness of staff. The location and stunning views, being surrounded by mountains. Lovely gardens and wonderful pool.

Review 23:This hotel definitely caters to tour groups (as indicated by the 'reserved for x' signs they had stacked up in the dining room. There were at least 4 buses while I was there off season. It wasn't too noisy while I was there, but people should be aware large tour groups are the main clientele of this hotel.

Review 24:I booked this hotel because of the private parking (I did not want to try and find street parking as I would have with other hotels). The hotel was clean and if you are lucky enough to get a sea view room, the view is fantastic!

Review 25:Out of season the restaurant doesn't offer a full menu, just the snack menu. Adequate, but disappointing.

Review 26:Retro style of hotel, great location with parking, log fire in the lobby (we stayed in March)

Review 27:The breakfast was below average

Review 28:Spacious public places and room. At its prime time, that hotel should have been luxurious. Now it is a clean vintage hotel, very conveniently located to explore the region.

Review 29:Is not modern - is 30-40 years old. Not Flat TV . Room is dirty. Windows not close good.I ask. But nobody do nothing. Just lie to tourists. We pay for 2 nights. But stay only 1

Review 30:Large hotel that suits organized groups. There are many nice hotels suitable for tourists searching for some privacy and personal attention.

Review 31:Good breakfast

Review 32:Totally impersonal, an impression reinforced by the brutalist architecture and décor. Evening dinner was a buffet - not a proper restaurant - though, to be fair, the food was reasonable.

Review 33:Great views from the room, and very reasonable rates

Review 34:Evening buffet very disappointing they cater for Large tour groups and made little effort to keep food warm. Eat in the town where there is more options.

Review 35:Big room Nice Pool Close to Site and Town. Good facilities in Hotel

Review 36:The food was could only be described as 'adequate' or 'nothing special'. I got the impression that the chef or person in charge of the food was just 'going through the motions' of providing food that was OK but not trying very hard at all.

Review 37:location, views, hotel design, large well appointed rooms, easy parking, friendly & accommodating staff. The swimming pool and its setting was first class.

Review 38:Even though breakfast was supposed to finish at 10am by 9am they were clearing and laying for lunch so service was inattentive.

Review 39:Lovely hotel with spectacular views from bedroom (best requested in advance to ensure you get a room with a view!)

Review 40:We are not accustomed to stay at hotels with that many tourists travelling in groups. We counted at least 8 busses. The dining room was packed with people and we hardly found a table left for individually travelling guests. (Nevertheless, quality of food and service were excellent.)

Review 41:We were an individually travelling couple while the majority of the other guests were travelling in groups organized by travel agencies. Nevertheless, the very kind staff of the hotel paid attention to us and provided an excellent service. The building and the facilities were well maintained and in a good shape. Our room was spacious and had a fantastic view.

Review 42:Smell outside our room

Review 43:Timeless Design by Nikos Valsamakis; location high up on Mount Parnassus with spectacular views; proximity to Delphi site, a lovely walk

Review 44:The staff is just not kind of warm. They are friendly enough but something was missing. I didn't like the boss and believe it's because of him.

Review 45:Probably the best hotel in the area if you're interested in design and architecture. It's wonderful.

Review 46:Room was acceptable, but not great. Furniture was a bit worn, bathroom in desperate need of remodeling.

Review 47:location, location, location! The lounge is brand new with nice 60s vibe and breathtaking view.

Review 48:The situation at the pool area: lack of available sunbeds around the pool and not a beach bar there (though a polite waiteress did serve drinks from the hotel's restaurant). This spoiled the relaxation for the weekend i was looking for, because i settled for lying on the grass and having the sun directly over my head.

Review 49:Nice location, easy parking, modern and clean rooms, with perfect climate inside, comfortable bed. A variety of tasty and plentiful breakfast.

Review 50:We loved everything about the hotel - the staff, the facilities, the cleanliness, the very spacious rooms. It's unbeatable for the price, especially considering the swimming pool. It's within walking distance to all historical sites. Best value for the money.

Review 51:Weak central air conditioning for hot summer months, limited menu selections for dining in the hotel

Review 52:Location with free parking, modern and minimalist style decore, great views from room and reception area, good breakfast, friendly staff, spacious and clean rooms, nice and very clean swimming pool and good wi-fi connection.

Review 53:The hotel parking space is insufficient, therefore if you arrive late you will have to park your car somewhere else. The room was quite clean but the bathroom curtain was really dirty. The policy of the hotel is not visitor friendly.

Review 54:The room had a nice view. The breakfast buffet was quite rich.

Review 55:The hotel looks a bit dates in the common areas

Review 56:Good Amelia hotel Nice breakfast Great location close to the center of Delphi Good free parking Nice rooms with superb views Very nice pool area Good service

Review 57:In peak season the pool was rather crowded (but still better to have than not).

Review 58:We really liked the modernist and minimalist style of the hotel, the best of 1960s design, which makes it feel simultaneously relaxed and sophisticated. The position is excellent - on the edge of the town but it's very easy to walk in. The stunning view over the Gulf of Corinth was one of the best views from a hotel bedroom I have ever had. There is a good bar with a friendly barman. Would have liked to stay longer.

Review 59:The view, breakfast, pool (big enough to do laps) and everything about Delphi is well worth a stay of at least two nights. Most people do a day trip from Athens, I highly recommend staying in Delphi you won't be disappointed.

Review 60:I was very unhappy with this stay because the hotel is much older that how it's presented on the pictures. The hotel was maybe nice 20 years ago but since then no renovation was done... Staff is also not very friendly..

Review 61:Swimming pool

Review 62:Restaurant had a small choice and food was average.

Review 63:Nicely decorated hotel with amazing views. Very nice pool. We had a great stay and will certainly come back here when we are in Delfi.

Review 64:Breakfast was ok but could be improved; would have been great to see more yogurt and fresh fruit.

Review 65:Very spacious, clean, decent sized rooms, wide corridors. We had a triple room as we have a 10 year old child with view to the coastline. Beds are a bit hard but that's our preference anyway. Beds are a good length, my husband is tall (1.93m) and that's often a problem with Greek hotels. It was also good to have a small fridge in the room. We had a car but walked to the village for dinner. Staff we're very helpful, professional, pleasant, polite and very attentive. The pool was a hit with my son. Would love to stay here again.

Review 66:The room was pleasant, but it could use some refurbishment.

Review 67:Excelent location and view, beautiful building in good condition. Quiet but close to the village. Firendly staff. Decent breakfast. Close proximity to the Delphi Cultural Centre.

Review 68:An incident where the receptionist was extremely rude to my daughter-in law.

Review 69:The location being at the end of town but still at walking distance from the center, the amazing view from our room, the spacious room and lounge, the clean sheets and towels, the restaurant etc., the breakfast buffet, and the swimming pool.

Review 70:The pool was full of dead wasps - Live wasps had taken over one side of the pool. The other side smelt of something rather bad. Once we cleared the pool of wasps swimming was not so bad - but sun soaking was a touch offensive to the nose. Asked for a double and got two single beds pushed together. Hotel is another one which used to be grand in its day but is rather run down. Bed was hard and breakfast so-so. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Review 71:Location is walkable into Delphi without having the hustle and noise of the main streets. The pool is cool and wet - We booked this place because of pool.

Review 72:could renovate some bathrooms

Review 73:the superb location and view, spacious hotel with a sixties style. Very convenient for families

Review 74:old furniture

Review 75:very clean,great view,great breakfast

Review 76:Noise in the rooms

Review 77:Easy location

Review 78:Front desk , breakfast

Review 79:Staff professionalism and friendliness Location Cleanliness Ease of Parking Relaxing and discrete environment

Review 80:Rooms need refurbish. Old bed and chairs, TV set was 15 years old !!

Review 81:Helpful and kind service

Review 82:On the hill, the view is good.

Review 83:lack of night-light in the room, lack of amenities for small children

Review 84:view, location, breakfast, free wi-fi, friendliness of staff, value for money

Review 85:The restaurant is geared to large groups on coaches not independent travellers.

Review 86:The position of the hotel and the excellent views.

Review 87:Nothing

Review 88:Everything was great! Room, breakfast, view, nature.

Review 89:TV in the room was small without satellite TV

Review 90:Limited pool hours.

Review 91:Good location, good breakfast.

Review 92:we both got sick from the buffet dinner

Review 93:easy drive from Delphi site grand view..same as from the top of the theater at Delphi

Review 94:nice view, nice pool, everything is good

Review 95:Location is out of the way, but still very close to main town. Plenty of parking available. Friendly, helpful staff.

Review 96:Hotel in an amazing location with a great view from the rooms.

Review 97:Nothing.

Review 98:Groovy 70s style, felt like a throw back to another era.

Review 99:Such a beautiful hotel and location. We wish we could have stayed longer. Truly relaxing.

Review 100:great value for money; gorgious view from bedroom; fantastic family room; super friendly staff;

Review 101:The view, the pool

Review 102:Wi-Fi was slow at times

Review 103:location, cleanliness, great staff, pool, free breakfast

Review 104:Hotel needs a face lift. A little outdated.

Review 105:The pool, the views and the location. There was also parking available.

Review 106:Everything was to hard for the staff

Review 107:Excellent parking, bed, breakfast, pool, and close walk to downtown.

Review 108:dinner

Review 109:ambience, bar, terrace, view, location, breakfast

Review 110:Rather surly bar staff in the evening

Review 111:Excellent location and view.

Review 112:Tv programs needs improvments. Almost no cartoons programs for kids at TV.

Review 113:The breakfast was dull and the atmosphere was like being in a big sports center..

Review 114:The staff were always kind and helpful.

Review 115:Room was cold

Review 116:Internet reception.

Review 117:View. Bed. Room.

Review 118:Maybe a bit dated, but reassuringly comfortable spacious and easy.

Review 119:Get a room with a view, its great. Eat out, as the hotel has bus loads of visitors.

Review 120:Large well run hotel with high quality room, bed and service.

Review 121:Too many crowds of coach tour parties

Review 122:Functional and modern but tastefully appointed

Review 123:Excellent location - convenient and lovely view. All facilities excellent and we enjoyed our stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 124:aircon was not very good. Breakfast was cold

Review 125:great location, easy to find
