Only 150 feet from the beach and the 7.5 miles long seaside promenade, Villa Eugenia is located in the centre of the mediaeval Lovran, on the Opatija Riviera. It offers a spa area and a restaurant with international dishes and a wide selection of wines.
Built in 1910 in the Secessionist style, the villa consists of accommodation units with air conditioning, internet connection, a TV, minibar and a safe. A private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries is also provided in each unit. Some room types feature a balcony and sea view.

Review 4：This was my second stay in, I have to say - very cosy Hotel Villa Eugenia. The fact I returned here for holidays speaks for itself. Two years ago I was extremely satisfied and recommended this hotel to all of my friends.But.Honestly, I was thinking whether to write this review or not - since staff seemed very concerned about problems I had during past few days. But - after having good night sleep (which I lacked due to some weird problem with AC or power or card reader or whatever) - I'm sure they haven't try their best to solve this issue.What happened - I made reservation for "deluxe room", which was smaller then cheaper room I had two years ago, but... whatever, room was nice with sea view. Knowing that AC is a bit noisy I switched it off during the night. Which released the hell. Power was switching on and off (like in episode of Haunted House) - which means - you're trying to get some sleep, and than - all of the sudden, all lights go on, as well as noisy AC, just to go off again in a couple of minutes while you are still in your bad and having no clue what the hell is going on. I assumed it might have something with card reader - since card didn't fit properly and you needed to pull it and push it in order to turn electricity on.In the morning, I made complain at the reception and they promised that house keeping guy will repair the issue.When we were back in our room, we found champagne and letter from General manager, which was very nice, and I was about to forget last night.But, electricity went crazy again around 11 p.m. We went straight to reception and girl came back with us to see by herself what's going on, even changed the card - but problem continued during the night, and we decided to cancel our stay in Villa. Since problem looked weird, I made video with my mobile and shown it to hotel people.

Review 5：Attic room facing the road (sea) not a best choice during hot summer days since A/C had problems to cool it down, opening the windows means noise from the road. I believe other rooms are much better choice.

Review 7：It has been a wonderful stay at a very nice hotel.Although we have arrived about 1 AM, we were welcomed by a bottle of a sparkling wine, and our dog received its own bowls and personal bed from the hotel. The room was spacey and comfortable. The breakfast is good, especially pancakes with chocolate :) There was some additional facilities like sauna, but we didn't use it. The parking was always available even for our quite big car (the only point is that it was not covered from the sun, so getting in the black car was a challenge; still it was OK). The hotel itself is quite small and private, still location is about perfect, except for the road right in front of it. Across the road is a nice small park, and the sea is just 50 meters away. The dog beach is 6 minutes away to the left, and the old town with all the infrastructure is 6 minutes to the right. At a glance, the stay was just wonderful, and we'd like to thank all the staff. Lovran itself is a very nice town, still peaceful enough compared to the nearby Opatia. And we went to many Istrian towns we haven't visited previously like Rovin, Porech, Hum, Buje, Riekka, Opatia, Krk, Bashka, Lim bay and Plivitsa lake - the roads are good, and the location allows to reach all of them at ease.

Review 8：The bed linen didn't fit the bed and didn't give a comfortable nights sleep.

Review 12：Our Garmin had a hard time finding the hotel. It would have been nice to know that it was not on the sea side of the road so we could have concentrated our looking in just one direction. There is a park across the street, so the view is not compromised and thus from the website photos, I thought the Villa was waterside.

Review 13：We thought the restored Villa was very nice. Our room with balcony was HUGE and very clean. Loved the big bathroom and large tub. The fruit basket was very appreciated. Breakfast was delicious. Front desk made a nice dinner recommendation. Louvran is an interesting spot - one can really imagine what it was like at the turn of the century.

Review 14：Only problem was the busy road with no crossing outside the hotel. A pedestrian crossing at that location would have been very helpful.

Review 16：Unfortunately these coffee is not worthy of the name. I don't understand why must use Dowe Egberts instant coffe if they have a good big espresso machine plus the excellent Hausbrandt coffe. (Sorry I am a coffee junkie.)

Review 17：The hotel is very comfortable with private parking. Location is good, close to the beach, 5-10 minutes to Lovran downtown. It is close to a noisy street, but it has good soundproofing. Large light room with a spacious balcony and view of the sea. Room spotlessly clean, very comfortable with effective air conditioner and fast, reliable wifi. The separated seating area, a sofa and an armchair plus the writing table was very useful. The staff is extremely helpful, friendly. The ordinary breakfast was fine in outdoor.

Review 49：As previously said, the hotel is to be recommended, but the resort is definately not. There is a main road running along the coast on which most of the hotels are situated. In many places, there is not a pavement! Louvran has no beach - just a few rocks with no sunloungers etc. The restaurant situation is even worse. We found five, and ate in two: the first had no tonic for gin and tonic and no shrimp cocktail. The second attempted a short change of 100 kuna having been given two 200 kuna notes for a bill of 276 kuna. Altogether, a miserable experience, and we left there after 3 days and went to the Markarska Riviera - an area which we would fully recommend

The exit of the hotel is life-threatening what was written by many hotel guests. The hotel by thedescription in Booking.com is located 50 meters away from the sea, whichof course is not true (300 m). Exit from the hotel is straight to theheavily trafficked road - main road Opatija - Pula. The road isextremely noisy, almost night and day. The description from Booking.comabout this problem, of course, not a single word. But this is not allthat creates noise. If you are lucky enough to get traffic calms downthen you will not be put to sleep from huge ac unit which during thenight producing noises like an airplane before take-off, ... Alsoalready written by some guests, do not wish any cold drinks from themini bar in the room. You will not get it. Mini bar is hidden in a smallcabinet in the middle of the room?!. Cabinet is without openings forventilations which is necessary for the normal functioning of therefrigerator. Actually it is a heater in the middle of the room andcreate a great chance of overheating and fire at final. Reasonably Isuppose that the hotel has no maintainer, since no one succeeded inthree days to replace the batteries in our safe in the room. Also, donot be surprised if your cell phone will not be able to fill becausesome outlets in hotel rooms does not work. Breakfast is very basic witha bunch of stuff from local discount shops. Coffee is not worthy of thename, bread looked poor, sausage without mustard, they even offeredBelgian waffles, which they were not at all alike.

Review 74：Unfortunately they were not expecting 8 thirsty people and the beer was not chilled and there was not much choice at the bar. This was turned around quite quickly and beer put on ice. The car park although very useful is quite tricky to negotiate and our cars being very low had trouble with the exit, however staff were helpful and let us out of the entrance to overcome this. This hotel is described as in the centre of a medieval town, I imagined you would step out of the door into the town, this is not the case, it is a 10 minute walk away.

Review 75：Excellent food, excellent staff, email communication was very good from Marina and Katrina. Petra was fantastic as was the chef. Car parking was the reason we chose this hotel, it would be difficult without it.

Review 77：We stayed in hotel Eugenia in the first week of October. The hotel is nicely renovated villa with comfortable, modern rooms. The hotel is close to the beach and downtown of Lovran. Rich breakfast is served in the winter garden and you can eat outside although it is a bit noisy as the garden is close to the main road.

Review 81：The hotel is located almost in the centre of Lovran. Only 3 minutes walkto the sea, 1 minute to the bus stop and the closest restaurant. To thevery centre - 5 minutes walk. The hotel is very clean, there are only4-5 rooms on each floor, so if you wish to have your vacation quiet, westrongly recommend this hotel. The rooms are big (at least the one wewere living in), with own bathroom, comfortabely equipped with a bigbed, tv, air-condition (which is essential in summer). Hostel cleaningstaff working very good and is almost unnoticed. Reception staff helpfuland very kind. Very big advantage - the parking place in the backyard ofthe hotel (there is a big shortage of parking places in the city becauseof it's location on the hillside). The parking is available for hotelguests and it is free fro them. No problems with both card and cashpayment. Thank you once again for great vacation!

Review 86：The water pressure in the bathroom was not good at times when otherguests were likely to be using their bathrooms too - which is very oddfor a hotel! In fact, the water stopped completely for 3-4min when mydaughter was in the shower! The hair dryer was broken and didnot work.

Review 87：We had a very comfortable 1 night stay at this hotel. We had the topfloor with a beautiful view of the sea. The room and bathroom were veryspacious and immaculately clean. Bathrobe and slippers in the bathroomwas a nice touch. The lady at the reception was very helpful withrestaurant recommendations in Lovran, Vlosko (wonderful restaurantsthere) and Opatija. Easy, free car parking. The beach is a 2 min walkdown a slope and some stairs. Like most Croatian beaches, it was rockyand had some big boulders inside, so beach shoes are a must. However,the water was very clear/clean and calm - safe for even my 8 yr old toswim in the sea. There is a small non-cemented beach area but it doesnot get crowded even in the afternoon. Breakfast was very good as theyprepare fresh eggs (in any style) and pancakes without extra charges, inaddition to the buffet.

Review 89：The hotel is situated in an old and very tastefully new renovated villa,very comfortable and private. A long seaside walk is just a few stepsaway. We loved the part of the beach that is natural, rocky and shadedby great old oak trees - it was not too crowded at the time of our stay(end of June).
