Reviews for Boutique Hostel Forum

Review 1:Easy to locate - Bus #2 takes you from its terminal at Autobusni Kolodvor to its other terminal outside the old city gate just 200 meters from the hotel. It is located on the main street (Siroka Ulica) of the old city, across from St Donatus church. Can't miss it although I did because the hotel sign was so small. There is a large café just below the hotel. Breakfast was fantastic - mix of warm and cold food - omelette, sausages, bacon, cereals, fruits, apple strudel, breads (baby croissants were delicious!). All the staff, especially Ivan, are helpful with information on restaurants, sights etc. Hotel is also uniquely designed with the distinctive creativity of Croatians. You'll love it. Value for money. I stayed 2 nights even though there wasn't much to see or do in Zadar in Dec. But the hotel was so inviting and restful, I felt it was a place to rest my weary bones for a bit. For a rather jaded traveller, to give a 10 rating doesn't come easy.

Review 2:Good location, in the centre of centre. Good access from airport - bus stop with 5...10 min walking distance. Nice view from the window. Sufficient breakfast including omlet, bacon and hot sausages. Breakfast-box provided if you have to leave early. Helpful staff,

Review 3:1. The room is too small and a bit complicate to use. And that's it. I'd really enjoyed staying there.

Review 4:1. Staff was very kind. Thanks for your all help. 2. Location was good. 3. Very clean. 4. Bed was very comfortable.

Review 5:No, it's very good.

Review 6:Great location (inside old town and easy to find). The facility is really great, and room is confortable and chic. The breakfast is also nice.

Review 7:There was nothing we didn't like about this accommodation

Review 8:Absolutely everything is positive about this Hostel, I can't recommend it highly enough. We stayed for a seven day break in late September 2015. All the staff are so friendly and polite, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was beautiful, and the rooms are not only immaculately clean but have stunning views of the old town, many with sea views. The lacation in the centre couldn't be mre convenient for all the fantastic bars and restaurants this town has to offer. I've stayed in five star hotels that haven't reached the high standards this accommodation offers.

Review 9:I would prefer having an option for female only rooms as a solo traveller, however I didn't actually feel uncomfortable here. The rooms are well designed, but lacking in any floor space which made the room seem crowded very quickly, but a minor issue as I wasn't isn't in the room much except to sleep.

Review 10:I loved the little pods to sleep in, with own light and electric plugs, made it much more comfortable and private. Was also great having the locked draw under the bed. And having a separate toilet and shower in the room was useful. Was also very clean, and perfect location right in the middle of the action.

Review 11:The shared rooms are pleasant and quite cozy (for a hostel). The bathroom was clean and the everyone were super friendly. I would highly recommend this place!

Review 12:We stayed at the luxury double room and the concept is quite interesting. Although very well equipped and full of surprises, the room was tiny and the bed a bit hard to access if you are not young or agile.

Review 13:Perfect location, good WiFi, fair breakfast. We stayed here after being in other places and the despite of being in the city centre, the windows isolate noisy and light very effectively.

Review 14:No kitchen to cook if i remembered correctly.

Review 15:The location is right in the city centre! Everywhere is convenient. You can also walk to the sea organ, not that far. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm, it had its own toilet and showering facilities and there is a common area too.

Review 16:No elevator No parking (and no close access by car)

Review 17:Perfect location to explore the city Bed overlooking the old town square Knowledgeable front desk person

Review 18:The hotel is in the old center of the city so no access by car. The difficult is that in Zadar we didn't find any park in which leave the car and pay when you go back. So it's a little be tricky every day find coins for parking.

Review 19:The place, the room, the view from the bed!

Review 20:Breakfast was just ok, cooked well & large choice but not the best quality products.

Review 21:Friendly staff, great location, nicely furnished room, amazing view.

Review 22:We booked 8 beds few weeks in advance asking whether it could be possible to have two private rooms only for our group or otherwise we would prefer to cancel the booking. We never got any response from the hostel and they split us in three different rooms during our stay. The metal stairs and handle to get to the top bunk beds are sharp and dangerous. No comfortable at all.

Review 23:Location and privet bathroom in the room

Review 24:The structure of the room was interesting but a bit uncomfortable because it is slant and small.

Review 25:The location of this hotel was the best. At night, I could see the vivid people enjoying the night life at the outdoor cafe on the bed in my room. And in the morning, when I drew aside curtains, I was able to see the blue sea through the window, which made me anticipate another exciting day.

Review 26:Shower facility. Toilet and shower room is apart. Quite uncomfy. Water flow is very slow.

Review 27:Unforgettable view from the bed. You can see the fantastic view lying on the bed. Very unique interior. Cheerful and kind staffs Wonderful memory in zadar all thanks to this hostel.

Review 28:It was a bit loud at night by our room since we were on the main square, the bathrooms were really small and a bit old, not the most social hostel

Review 29:Great location right by the main stretch, the take away breakfast was so convenient, was very nice that the beds had shades on them

Review 30:Small cubicals to sleep in in the dorms. The compact living gave me a bit of a claustrofobic feeling, but maybe you can't expect any more based on the price.

Review 31:Friendly staff. Good price. Wi-Fi worked fine.

Review 32:Difficult to find and park but no more so than any other city centre hotel these days. Breakfast is nice but dining room is too small

Review 33:Quirky but very pleasant city centre hotel

Review 34:It took us a while to find it even though we'd walked right past a couple of times!

Review 35:Superior double room was amazing and very unique. Great view from the bed! Staff very helpful.

Review 36:Friendly and welcoming staff at reception. Great location in the city, right in front of the Forum, close to everything. I actually saw the Forum from the room. I like the modern decor of the place.

Review 37:Bathroom got a bit dirty during my stay - not sure if these are cleaned on a daily basis? Our flush wasn't great either

Review 38:Great vibe, everything you need as a traveller. Excellent location and really friendly staff. Loved my stay here!

Review 39:A bit far from the bus station...took me 25-30 mins walk with my heavy backpack.

Review 40:Staffs are polite and helpful. Love the view from my room. Love there style.

Review 41:The wi-fi didn't work in the rooms. The ladder to the top bunk was horrible to climb up and down

Review 42:The breakfast to go was adorable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy, view was amazing!

Review 43:Being right on the square, and the rooms not being soundproof, some noise from outside as well as from the hallway did come through. When many people on the floor are using water the waterpressure drops and then the shower and toilet barely have water -- we experienced this on the Friday night but Saturday during the day there were no problems.

Review 44:The rooms are really cool, the staff at the front desk and at the breakfast room were friendly and helpful, the location is right in the middle of the old town. There is a small courtyard garden which is great and an entertainment room with a pool table, projector and some books.

Review 45:this place was a real cool place to spend my last night . bang in the centre of the old town of zadar . the staff were great . they had a very cool chill out room and let me check out a few hours later free of charge which was really great of them . i woke up to have a ready make breakfast with snacks in a bag with was a real nice touch, was worth the money !

Review 46:nothing,could not find any faults.

Review 47:great helpful staff, very clean well run,we owned two big hostels in Ireland.,Icould not fault it except for the price.great location.

Review 48:Bedroom style not everyone's taste but we were there 1 night and it was fun

Review 49:Location right in centre of town with a sea view. Clean, good accommodation. Funky decor. Shower and toilet in room.

Review 50:Would recommend you use this place as a 1/2 night stop as it is small but very reasonable for what you're paying. And although breakfast is free which I'm not complaining about, it's probably worth your while eating out somewhere.

Review 51:Simple and basic for what we needed for 1 night in Zadar. Helpful staff, clean room and close to everything.

Review 52:Expensive for what it is. Thought the weird position of an elevated bed that could only be accessed via a slippery slope was unsafe and stupid.

Review 53:Great location

Review 54:WiFi connection could be better and the breakfast room bigger but these are minor details that didn't bother me.

Review 55:I love the layout and design of the individual rooms but if you don't like mirrors stay away hahaha but the winner is the view of the old church and sea.

Review 56:Nice, helpful Staff, the best location in Zadar - in the Heart of the Old Town, the "black mirrored room" and its view was simply amazing, great value for money. Book it asap! ;)

Review 57:Very little space to put a big bag

Review 58:Best hostel I've ever stayed at! I've never had a better nights sleep in a hostel. Staff were incredibly helpful and sweet. Truly felt boutique. The room set up is odd, but smart and chic. Futuristic lockers. They have thought of everything, all the little details were covered. Exceptional!!

Review 59:Shower is a bit small. Noisy dorm mates.

Review 60:Unexpected complimentary mini breakfast (too small to replace a proper breakfast but still appreciated). Excellent location.

Review 61:Wifi not very strong

Review 62:Great double room with a view! Loved climbing up into the bed and looking at the view from there - great location close to everything.

Review 63:No discounts with the caffe bar forum even though same company; was facing the inside of the tower so I had to keep curtains closed

Review 64:Walking distance to everything in the old town; Great breakfast was included with double room; easy to find

Review 65:nope~

Review 66:great location!!!! soooooo great!! Juse in the center of the old town. near beach, and I can see the forum from window. The room is tidy and with a great sense of design!~

Review 67:Shower got a bit cold when it gets late at nite. Mebbe out of hot water. But not a big deal.

Review 68:Many things to luv: - Bed design is unique, provides 100% privacy & with a sea view!! Definitely a real boutique hostel. - Recep(Ivan) was extremely friendly & helpful. (& cute too :) - Perfect location rite in d center of old town zadar. -

Review 69:One tiny issue would be that it can get pretty cramped in the dorm rooms if it's full and everyone has luggage - as the lockers are not big enough to store suitcases/back packs

Review 70:Everything! - You couldn't have a more central location! I was apprehensive thinking it would be really noisy because the hostel is right in the middle of everything, but was pleasantly surprised that you actually can't hear any outside noise at all so a good night's sleep is guaranteed! - I stayed in a 4 bed dorm and thought it was probably the best dorm i've ever stayed in! The beds have blinds to pull down on each side for total privacy - which virtually no other dorm room offers! - The mattress and pillows were so comfy! - The receptionist was so lovely and friendly, happy to help with anything - Staying in the dorm I didn't expect to have breakfast included, but actually you receive a little bag of 'breakfast to go' items which was really lovely!

Review 71:the bed was too dusty. I can see much of dust in room. It effects my sore throat getting worse. But it doesnt mean bed is dirty.

Review 72:I was staying double room. It was ok to stay. And easy to find from anywhere. Very modern design. Friendly staff and amazing view from the window.

Review 73:As far as I know, there is no recycling within the hostel...I did ask. WIFI signal was poor. It could have been my device though.

Review 74:Great location. Tidy rooms. Small Garden. Common area. Nice breakfast. Clean.

Review 75:locker was a little small to put the 20' carrier.

Review 76:best location, nice security, bed was clean and nearly individual room itself.breakfast bag was delicious.they put it infront of your bed about 8am..

Review 77:Weak wifi. The staffs are not that kind.

Review 78:The location was center of the city and close to the bus stop. (not bus terminal!) The room and the toilet are clean.

Review 79:We loved everything about this hostel. The hostel looks great, modern, unique. We stayed at superior double room and enjoyed it very much. The room is small, but the interior design is done in a great way to make it look and feel just perfect (we especially liked dark mirrors on the walls). The bed is placed right next to the window and the view is spectacular. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was small, but excellent. There are very good seafood restaurants close to the hostel.

Review 80:Located right on the Callelarga. Beds have lamps, sockets, and curtains. So comfortable. The staff are extremely accomodating (I got locked in a museum, and they called the manager to let me out; don't know how many hostels would do that for a guest), and the entire hostel is perfect for both socializing and privacy.

Review 81:I really really hated the fact I had to shorten my stay… but reception was great and made no issue about it. Yet, I wish I could have stayed longer… :-/

Review 82:If you are booking a room for two, spend few extra bucks for the luxury rooms - the morning view and the bed experience are worth it. :)

Review 83:The rooms are to small. If you have lots of luggage you might have a problem. The shower room is extremely small and uncomfortable. I've stayed there for two nights and paid for night+breakfast but didn't get any althought my roommates did. So I guess that you need to have the luck with that. It's not a problem at all, but I don't like that kind of behavior. Also, the cleaning lady took my towel after first night and didn't left another. So, bring your own! I'm lucky that I had one.

Review 84:Great design of the hotel and the best location in town. The view is spectacular, Too bad that it was raining so we couldn't enjoy beautiful terrace in the backyard. There's all facilities that you need, wi-fi and possibility to watch movies in common room. And privacy in your own bed and locked drawer beneath the bed are great plus. And i really appreciate the possibility to leave the luggage in hostel after check out. I was leaving Zadar in the evening so that was big favor to me.

Review 85:The location, friendliness of desk staff and maintenance staff, colour scheme, breakfast in the bag, privacy provisions in dorm room, cleanliness........all helped to make this a great stay.

Review 86:Quite tight space but all the essentials.

Review 87:Very helpful staff who willingly carried our bags up the stairs. Very central location. Room was bright with unusual set up to make most efficient use of small space. Ample breakfast with choices.

Review 88:Room ultra-compact; breakfast at best average. Needs proper towel rails, not just little pegs.

Review 89:Terrific view from large window. A very new modishly-styled hostel, professionally designed and competently managed. Location overlooking ancient Roman forum could not be better.

Review 90:Stark communist era building, tiny rooms, too minimalist. Can barely move in bathroom or room. Had to have blinds down all the time or you were completely visible in all parts of the room from the cafe across the street. Town felt tired and dirty. Would not go to Zadar or this hotel ever again.

Review 91:Not much. Breakfast was good but room lacked any ambience.

Review 92:Everything was great!

Review 93:I liked the clever design and my big so clean comfortable bed overlooking the Forum and the ocean. I loved the pretty friendly young ladies on reception - they were the most helpful quirky smiling folks I met during my travel through Croatia. Breakfast was great too. I wish I had several days to spend in the Boutique Hostel. I loved it.

Review 94:The only tiny downside were the bells from the cathedral opposite. The rooms are pretty soundproof from the outside noise, and there's nothing the hotel can do to stop the bells, but just be aware, especially if you're a light sleeper!

Review 95:Location Facilities Staff Price

Review 96:The man on reception who greeted us did not seem particularly pushed about giving us information on what we could do or what he would recommend. This can make it a bit difficult when you just land in a town you don't know.

Review 97:The rooms were small but very well planned and not cramped. It was right in the centre of Zadar so it was easy to stop off during the day if we needed things.

Review 98:Nothing! Perfect place!

Review 99:Very stylish and smart design and facilities! Even very clean! Location was perfect! Staff was so kind and smiley that I felt warm welcome. The roller blind in each bed and two entrances were very good ideas!

Review 100:There was nothing about Zadar & the Boutique Hostel Forum that we didn't like. It's perfect for a short break.

Review 101:Zadar is perfect for a short and relaxing break. The Boutique Hostel Forum is really friendly & perfectly located with welcoming staff, fabulous views from bedroom windows & a hearty breakfast.

Review 102:A lift would have been the icing on the cake. Sleep slightly disturbed by the church bells (no fault of the Hostel).

Review 103:Location and views fantastic. Staff and facilities brilliant. A wonderful place to stay. We hope to return

Review 104:Not for elderly or handicapped people. No elevator. Uneven risers of steps. Required climbing a steep carpeted ramp to get into bed. Once there the view was magnificent

Review 105:Superb breakfast, view and Location.

Review 106:People with movement limitations will find this challenging. Steep stairs, high beds with steeply sloping floors.

Review 107:Location and fantastic view from room over the Roman forum and the sea. Cheerful helpful staff. Very comfortable room, although compact to say the least it was extremely functional with everything fitted in.. just like the boat cabin theme..

Review 108:Our room was on 3rd floor which is 4 floors of climbing up the stairs with your luggage. No elevator I should have known better. The bathroom sink and toilet is on one side of room and shower on other side. Its very tiny. The mirrors have an effect to make the room lot bigger than it is. This is my first experience in hostel so i did not know what to expect, my fault. If you are looking for convenient place to sleep this is perfect for you at reasonable price. The bed is very high but clean white sheets and comfortable. Btw, I booked the largest room and I still thought it was tiny.

Review 109:Excellent location. Easy walking access to everything within town. It was nice to receive youtube video illustrating where to park and directions to hostel ahead of time. I left some personal items in safe and forgot to remove it before checkout. I emailed later on requesting for them to hold it until I pick it up and they responded promptly that it will be at reception. What a relief.

Review 110:Couldn't fault it. No complaints at all!

Review 111:The staff were friendly and cheerful as well as being extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms were immaculate and very well thought out and the breakfast was fantastic! Perfect central location with all the sights on the doorstep. Excellent value for money...we couldn't have asked for anything more!

Review 112:Considering it was a hostel, nothing especially.

Review 113:although rooms are small, they are cleverly designed so that you have more privacy than usual in a hostel. Friendly staff, especially the smiley helpful cleaning staff. Rare in Croatia! Breakfast pack to go a nice surprise. They looked after my bicycle for a few days while i was away.

Review 114:Like the rooms set up but can get a little tight. Showers could be a little bigger or with some sort of shelf to put your things.

Review 115:Excellent location, rooms are clean, you get fresh towels everyday , view from my room was great, big lockers, internet works everywhere, staff is great and helpful, finally a shower that doesn't flood.

Review 116:The room was rather small and the wi-fi pretty bad.

Review 117:Location is excellent, does not get better than this. Staff waa helpful and the design of the hostel is interesting. The restaurant next door (Groppo) was excellent as well.

Review 118:Just need a bit of brass next time.

Review 119:The hostel was in an ace location, the bed setup was siiiiick, and there was a funking dead fit chick behind the reception.

Review 120:We missed a place to relax in the hotel. The rooms are quite small and you have to go out. We like to go out. But sometimes also to relax in a lobby or so..

Review 121:We liked the location in the middle of the old town, nice rooms with nice (sea) view. close to very nice restaurants and terraces.

Review 122:WiFi, so poor..... Even i stayed in the reception hall, i can't connect the internet. When i finally get it, it always disconnected, it made me crazy......

Review 123:Everything i liked~especially the comfortable bed, i really really like it~

Review 124:The price is too high for a hostel. Difficult to find parking for our car. The breakfast room is small, it would be better if the guests could eat outside on a terrace.

Review 125:The hostel is in the center of Zadar (we had a lovely view on the forum) and they have modern rooms.

Review 126:Overpriced . Wifi never worked at all during our whole stay . The rooms are too small / claustrophobic as a shared 4 bed room . No warning regarding when our other tenants would be moving in, consequently leading to us being woken up by loud , selfish boarders at 4 in the morning , who consequently went on to show no disregard for our belongings - breaking numerous things in the bathroom that belonged to us .

Review 127:Building itself was in a perfect location and furnished to a high standard .

Review 128:third floor without lift no help for carrying suitcases in the room no parking place available nearby small rooms almost no place for unpacking your luggage poor breakfast very noisy untill past midnight

Review 129:located in the city centre nice view

Review 130:The decor is horrible and made me feel a little dizzy and ill. The rooms are not so much rooms as they are bunk beds along a corridor. It is super cramped. My main problem was the noise and the fact that there was no attempt to quieten down the drunk and screaming people at 2am. It was terribly loud even with earplugs.

Review 131:The position of the hotel is perfect and the little bunk beds quite cosy and comfortable. I think the idea of having a TV/chill out room is nice. Having a small breakfast included in the price was nice. Perhaps an option if you looking for something cheap and clean and not planning on much sleep.

Review 132:Parking cost, very few power outlets in the room, but most frustration goes to the Wi-Fi: when it's accessible, it's very slow ; quality also seems to depend on the location in the hostel, I also wonder if the people at the reception don't take most of the bandwith

Review 133:The bells in the belfry tower will do the job at 7 am sharp, but hey this way you make most of your summer day. Excellent bed and small but nice breakfast, perfect location into town

Review 134:Very poor Wi-Fi connection in the end of July 2014

Review 135:Could not be any more central - right in front of forum palace. The "cubicle " dorm beds were amazing for privacy, and interior very sleek and stylish. You get mini breakfast takeaway, also espresso in vending machine only 2kn!

Review 136:The wifi connection was super annoying- iPhones have to be connected at reception and even when you did this u had to go through the hostel website each time!! Whilst the breakfast was good, a nice piece of fruit would have been good to change it around. The Kitchenet was not very equipped for cooking.

Review 137:This hostel is very well designed and clean and right in the heart of Zadar. Beds are comfy and you can put your blinds down to keep out light and have some privacy. The little included breakfast is a nice touch.

Review 138:I didn't like left the places

Review 139:Location, wifi, staff, rooms, design, breakfast, activities, excursions, cleaning, but the most the staff, the Martina's and tge new guy working on the nigh always friendly when I was coming back after the party. Amazing place where I will back after my 10 nights here.

Review 140:nothing - it was fantastic. I stayed here twice I loved it so much!

Review 141:The location of this hostel is superb, right in the centre of old town. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful and there is someone on hand 24 hours a day. The rooms are clean and the clever design means even in a 4 man dorm you have complete privacy. Every room has its own toilet and shower. There is a small communal kitchen, and you get given a light breakfast every morning delivered to your room. The outdoor garden is a really great place to chillax
