Reviews for Hotel Kolovare
Review 1:Worth the money for what was paid - about 110euros per night.
Review 2:Conveniently located - 15 min walk from zadar old town and 5 min walk from main bus station. Helpful staff. Clean room. Breakfast that was included was decent
Review 3:Absolutely no complaints
Review 4:Second stay here. Proximity: easy 10 min walk to old city, nice pool and sitting area, easy parking, good/ very good breakfast, nce sitting out area at back of hotel. Local beach clean accessible and relatively uncrowded (This was September), good wifi, 20 mins from airport
Review 5:we need some help with renting a car and the attendant was very kind to helpping us. When we arrived in the apartment, there was a wellcome note, in my name, writting by hand. The people working in this hotel is very kind. To get to the beach you need just to across a street and it takes 10 minutes walking to the old town, what is ok. And the wifii is free and it Works from the swimming poll.
Review 6:The forgot to fill up the minibar with water every day and one day they missed to clean the room. Otherwise everything was great.
Review 7:Great location. Close both to the beach and to the old town.
Review 8:Maybe too expensive for Zadar standards. But i guess it is because it was high season and this is one of the very few hotels with stars in town.
Review 9:Location - i was looking for a quiet place after being one night in a very noisy street in downtown. They gave me a quiet room as i requested. So i had very nice holidays in Zadar afterall!
Review 10:The approach to the hotel needs a complete make-over. It is virtually invisible to a stranger to the city, travelling alone and concentrating on the road. The presence of the boom gates gives the impression this is a security facility - not an hotel. The hotel's name is not readily visible from inside the car and there is NOTHING welcoming about the approach. Once through the boom gate, there is nothing to guide the driver to the actual parking area. I had to go to reception and then exit the car part and go around again with all the traffic hassles that involved. The dining room concierge could use some lessons about making guest feel welcome – even if they are in the wrong place!
Review 11:Reception staff were second to none after a very trying and exhausting day. They went out of their way to help.
Review 12:The style and the atmosphere of this hotel reminded us about the socialist era. Some members of the staff were rigid and rigorous. The breakfast and the dinner were poor, there wasn't much of a selection of dishes. Comparing with other 4 stars hotels I would give this hotel only 3 stars.
Review 13:The hotel is not far from the old town (15 min walk) and close to the beach. The young members of the staff were professional and kind.
Review 14:Hotel about 15 minute walk to the old town. Hotel was very quiet in the evenings. This was good for a relaxing stay. No entertainment available in the hotel at night time.
Review 15:Room was nice and very comfortable. Pool area was excellent. Very clean and not too busy. Ample sun loungers, poolside bar serving food and drinks. close to shops and some small cafe/restaurants.
Review 16:Beware of theft.
Review 17:A typical resort hotel, big and a bit old school, but affordable. Restorants and bars are in the building. 10 minutes walk to the old town entrance.
Review 18:It excellent hotel, I really liked all.
Review 19:Fantastic place, big room, good food, very nice beach and near Zadar city center. It excellent hotel, we are recommended for everyone.
Review 20:A good walk to the old Zadar tourist centre & no public transport. The new ferry terminal is even further in the opposite direction.
Review 21:What is expected of a four star Hotel. Good for beach enthusiasts.
Review 22:Staff was not particularly friendly
Review 23:Good location close adjacent to old town; comfortable and spacious room; nice pool area; across the street from the beach
Review 24:If you are expecting normal 4 star standard, this hotel will disappoint. There was a strange grill across most of our balcony restricting the view down to the swimming pool below.
Review 25:However we enjoyed the experience of former eastern block style and atmosphere. The hotel lobby was vast and empty, our room was spacious and comfortable. The location was good, it was just a 15 minute walk to the town. Breakfast provided a limited range but with polite and smiling attendants.
Review 26:Absolutely everything! Fabulous hotel facility and staff. Location is excellent whether interested in spending time on the beach, by the salt water pool, or sightseeing in the ancient city center.
Review 27:The only thing bad about this trip was the weather. We'll definitely be back.
Review 28:Food and customer service in Zadar was amazing; both at the hotel and in town.
Review 29:The hotel (exterior and interior) is outdated. The room seemed clean at first, but when the we moved the chair there was a lot of dirt underneath as well as on the sides of it, and in the bathroom. Carpets in the hallways are also quite dirty. Staff at the reception desk wasn't helpful with issuing an invoice to be paid by the company direct, and we got conflicting information. Staff at breakfast was not prompt in replacing the food, taking the plates away-to busy chatting. All in all not a 4 star hotel by any standard.
Review 30:- location - wi-fi
Review 31:We were within easy walking distance to the facilities of Zadar and main tourist area. Although a busy hotel staff were friendly and found time to assist with our needs. Great place to stay with excellent views and beach across the road.
Review 32:I don't usually post reviews, but I found this hotel to be so awful, I felt it was necessary. So... The tub is actually a safety hazard! In order to get into the shower/bathtub, it is necessary to climb over a very tall tub wall. It is not an exaggeration to say it would be easy to slip going in or coming out. I'm surprised so few reviews have mentioned it. My friends and I each rented rooms and had the same dangerous climb. #2. The room was dirty. I'm not a princess who expects perfection, but I do expect to feel that there is at least an attempt at basic hygiene but there was black mold growing in the mini refrigerator and it was clearly a long-standing issue. The coverlets on both beds were dirty. I felt dirty just sleeping there. It is nowhere near worth the rate charged. This is not even close to a 4*. At best, I would rate it a 2*.
Review 33:The location is good. It is 15-20 minute walk into old town Zadar. It is close to the bus station as well.
Review 34:The room was a bit small. The location is ok and close to the beach, but it's a bit of a hike to the old town and there isn't much else of interest nearby
Review 35:Comfortable and clean rooms. Good facilities. Staff is very helpful.
Review 36:though the barman could be a bit more chatty.
Review 37:the fact that they had a hairdresser on site, hotel spotless, reception staff excellent,, very good English very good advice from them on choice of restaurants etc. taxi drivers also very friendly and helpful pool and surrounding area very clean and well kept.. definetly go back to this hotel
Review 38:Breakfast not up to 4 star standard, limited selection. Hotel need to be painted over, it looks dated.
Review 39:Comfy bed, nice bathroom and balcony. Pool with a sea water - was much better than sweet water pools with chemicals. Staff was very helpful.
Review 40:Other people staying would put their towel around the pool to secure a sun bed and then go off and leave it there all day whether they were there or not. Located a fair walk from the old town, sea organs etc
Review 41:We liked the pool for an afternoon swim to cool off. The girls at check in were very helpful and friendly
Review 42:There are cobbles on the beach but the hotel is not to blame for it. :-)
Review 43:A very nice hotel, friendly personnel, nice food. I enjoyed my stay there and would like to return.
Review 44:Everything was wonderful!
Review 45:Great location, a short 10 minute walk to the main part of the city. The beach in is your backyard. Great breakfast. The view of the ocean is fantastic. We liked it so much that we stayed there twice on our 2 week visit to Croatia. Easy parking for free.
Review 46:good location, near old town
Review 47:For 4 stars hotel, breakfast should be better with more different food and more fruit and nicer presentation
Review 48:Staff, cleanliness good, slept very well
Review 49:Nothing.
Review 50:Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was what you would expect from a four star and was immaculate. free parking was a bonus.
Review 51:beds where not so comfortable
Review 52:Bit of a walk to old town.
Review 53:Right on beach.
Review 54:Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly - above and beyond Good breakfast - varied options. Short walk to old town of Zadar
Review 55:Great location, comfortable and great staff
Review 56:The bed, it was way too hard and seemed pretty old. The hotel could also use some updating.
Review 57:It was nice that they had a pool.
Review 58:Location close to city of zadar, easy on site parking
Review 59:Old furniture, old hotel. Needs utlrgent redecoration
Review 60:Close to old city. 10min walk.
Review 61:Old hotel. Stay away from it if you look for something cozy
Review 62:Decent rooms. Nothing special. Not worth 4 starts in my opinion.
Review 63:Small room
Review 64:Location
Review 65:Coffee at breakfast, English communication,
Review 66:WIFI, pool outside and close beach.
Review 67:No gym.
Review 68:Location.
Review 69:Staff friendly and professional 24 hr desk as we flew in late and it's easy to find. Rooms were fine.
Review 70:Room maids very loud early in the morning. Check in/out too long.
Review 71:Location. Reception staff.
Review 72:hotel itself indluding staff
Review 73:close to the airport
Review 74:The price was almost as high as the near by all inclusive hotell. But Kolovare didint have anything extra.
Review 75:Near the Beach. Near the city
Review 76:The bed xtremely uncomfortable.
Review 77:Great location. Good parking, nice rooms.
Review 78:Room a bit outdated. There were renovations going on at the time.
Review 79:Location, quiet.
Review 80:The only complain i can have about it, is that they didnt give directions on how to get there.
Review 81:There is no one to help you with luggage!
Review 82:Good surroundings and swinming pool area!
Review 83:It was close to the beach, easy access to the beach and back to the hotel and easy walking distance to the town centre
Review 84:Breakfast is quiet poor
Review 85:Nice rooms
Review 86:Breakfast choices were limited & room was way overpriced.
Review 87:Pool & location was good
Review 88:Faded interior, mould stained bathroom with furry 10mm deep mould patch on ceiling.
Review 89:Old fashioned rooms
Review 90:Location was great and so were the staff.
Review 91:Wi-Fi signal could be better in the rooms.
Review 92:Somewhat institutional architecture. Strange heavy screen blocking view from balcony. Looks OK from outside but very heavy from inside. Should change to lighter screen and transform the balconies. Overall good place.
Review 93:Good location, nice pool area with good service and nice food. Good views of the sea.
Review 94:We didn't like stepping up into the shower and tub. It seemed like it was about a two feet climb into the tub. My mother who is a senior did not feel comfortable. There may be wheelchair assessible rooms to request.
Review 95:Full Service large hotel in a great location. Breakfast was included in our rate and our flight left before the cafeteria was open. They provided a box breakfast to go. I recommend this property and would return again some day.
Review 96:About a 15 minute walk from the old town. The pool was cold (but it was still only May) and looked dirty.
Review 97:Rooms, the breakfast, the restaurant area, check-in and check-out, the pool area.
Review 98:Comfortable,nice bad and bathroom, cleanliness is great and staff is great..... Nice view, air condition is working properly. Breakfast is also great.
Review 99:Heating controls not working. Fridge buzzing all night. Brickwork on the balcony blocking veiws. Totally impersonal hotel. Travel lodge standard at four times the price.
Review 100:Convenient to old town
Review 101:The breakfast was disappointing. Fresh fruits and vegetables were very limited. All was self served, no fresh made eggs, pancakes, and orange juice was from concentrate.
Review 102:Zadar was a surprisingly nice, historical city and the hotel location was perfect. The room was nice and bed was comfortable.
Review 103:Nothing bad to report on at all.
Review 104:Great location. The hotel offers more than enough free parking andit's only a 10 min walk from the city center (old town) and the seaorgan which can't be missed. A beach is with-in 200 yards of theback of the hotel and the rooms are very clean and modern and veryefficient a/C. Oh and the beds are a dream to lay on.I don't understand any of the negative reviews about this hotel being dated, it couldn't be anymore 21st century if it tried.
Review 105:apart from the staff the administration of the hotel is also extremely unprofessional, when first called to book they said there were no vacancies so I had to go through booking.
Review 106:The hotel is certainly wearing off, as so many customers here noticed. It is more like you are staying in the 90-s museum - with chipping bathroom ceiling, not working pedal bin basket, CRT TV, and very very unconmfortable pillows. Not all the staff at the reception desk understands English, though they would pretend that they understand, but they don´t. Also be careful if you happened to modify your booking - the staff does not keep record of that and causes chaos when checking out.
Review 107:The hotel is situated approx. 15 minutes walk from the old city centre. Rooms are relatively soundproof - but the airconditioning and refrigerator are so noisy that it actually does not matter. Breakfast was good, but for a 4 star hotel you certainly expect more variety and better quality - in and of everything, not only the food. It was a big dissapointment.
Review 108:A little overpriced...
Review 109:Clean, nice room, just what you would expect from a 4* hotel. (We were on the sea-side). Front-desk staff very friendly, speaking English well Ideal location if you want to be next to the beach and the beautiful sea in a peaceful area, but still close (15 min walk along the coast) to the Old town
Review 110:Very nosy in the evening, especially when there was a wedding saturday night. Extremely loud music untill 4 o'clock and nobody seemed to do anything to stop it. Breakfast was quite sad.
Review 111:Nice pool area and beach (small)
Review 112:Very strict timetables. At 10 o'clock sharp closed restaurant.
Review 113:A very comfortable old hotel, needing some refurbishment update, but with a good pool and a private beach.
Review 114:Electricity is pretty bizarre. One has to use the nowadays classical card to have electricity in the room: anyway, once the card was inserted, there were lights which could not be switched on; once the card was removed, there were lights still on and, most bizarre of all else, even without the card there were lights switching on and off all by their own...fortunately this went on only up to midnight or such, so that we could sleep without being awakened by lights turning strangely on...moreover, at 7.30 am we got awakened by someone entering our room (maybe someone of the staff, bu we couldn't see anybody when we woke up and went out of the room)...this is all pretty amazing for a 4 star hotel and for the price we pay (which is maybe higher than we expected, but this seems to be normal in the area of Zadar)
Review 115:The postion is really nice, next to the sea, ten minutes by walk to the center of Zadar, and it is not so difficult to get there by car. The room was clean, well equipped, maybe one can enjoy it better by spending there more then only one night as we did
Review 116:Smokey smell; average food at breakfast buffet; outdated decor
Review 117:Had a great location by the beach with easy walk to the bus station or into the old town
Review 118:Signs to fire escape from my room did not point towards nearestemergency exit (a wall mounted ladder) but towards main staircase whichwas fairly far away. Sufficient but unexciting breakfast. Bathroom ingood condition but in my room with insufficient or faulty ventilationcausing high humidity and some mould.
Review 119:Great location within reasonable walking distance from old town (15-20minutes). All rooms have balcony and minisafe. Large free parking. Freeinternet connection with acceptable speed (at least for my smartphone).Pool (for cooling down, not so much for swimming) and separate wadingpool for small children on premises, public beach across the street.Helpful staff with generally acceptable knowledge of English.
Review 120:The price could be lower compared with other hotels. But I guess they can that is why.
Review 121:The swimming pool The Breakfast was perfect for me unlike all the negative I had read before
Review 122:What a joke, back to the seventies!, old and run down. No fitness area, I asked and was told to go running outside (30 degrees?!), only small single beds I wouldn't fit in.Breakfast was poor.Worst hotel I stayed in in a long time, 4 stars? you need a very large imagination.
Review 123:They had availibility
Review 124:The covered metal waste basket in the bathroom with the push pedal that didn't work, which made me kneel down to open by hand every time I needed to throw away something. Hotels need to stop using these archaic waste baskets:(
Review 125:Good location. Short walk to old town and adjacent to the water. The breakfast buffet was very good.
Review 126:Neck breaking pillows were a minus and no other choices available. Bathroom sinks would not close and shower attachments were very loose. Poor TV selection and reception.
Review 127:Location on the water to promenade to the old city was excellent - 15 minutes. Hotel check in and out was without problems and the breakfast very enjoyable.
Review 128:Price for what was offered eg in comparison to what i paid in Radisson in Dubrovnik. Food poor. Probably good value for those on tours but not for someone booking for himself
Review 129:Location, staff, clean
Review 130:I didn't like the high price that wasn't matched With offered. In example, I stayed in Split in a hotel that offered far more for less money, had a better view, better equipped rooms etc. The hotel is old and is ready for renovation, redesign.
Review 131:I liked the location of the hotel.
Review 132:Hotel Kolovare is nice but getting dated a little. Nothing to be concerned with.
Review 133:We liked the room with balcony of the Adriatic Sea. A little bit of a walk but no problem getting to old town. Also, you can walk to hotel from bus station. Breakfast was very good.
Review 134:The staff just ok. The facilities are closed when it's not high season, no buffet although it's offered when you book. Really old-fashioned. It's too expensive for what it offers. The breakfast is quite poor as well.
Review 135:The location is good, just a short walk by the sea to the city center. 15min taxi to the Zadar airport. Nice viewsights to the sea if you have the right room. Reception 24/7
