Reviews for Hotel Villa Bonera

Review 1:The place had seen better days, it was very run down. However, it was clean and bed and linens were comfortable. Also lots of parking albeit your vehicle had to fit through the brick archway entrance.

Review 2:Close to the highway. We needed somewhere close to the highway as we had a long drive the next day.

Review 3:I booked a single room. I was allocated room 1 which resembled somewhere between a monk's and a prison cell. Tiny bed, low ceiling, dark, scruffy bathroom with miniscule basin and shower. Ramshackle windows. Hot and claustrophobic.

Review 4:Friendly staff

Review 5:The bidet in the room was dirty and the sink was leaking. We didn't complain about it, since we only stayed for one night and this hotel was the cheapest option in the area. We didn't regret our choice.

Review 6:The hotel is in a good location, close to the sea (5min walk). The staff was very friendly and the linen was clean. The Villa Bonera is a historical building with beautiful frescoes on the ceilings. Breakfast was tasty and served in the garden.

Review 7:It could do with a little more TLC, sofas are quite old, furniture and bathrooms are far from cosy;and please do something to restore those beautiful frescos!! No WiFi in my room (top floor.

Review 8:It is situated quite nicely if rather close to the trains, at least on one side. The architecture is stunning, the single room I had was fine.Breakfast was amazing!

Review 9:It is advertised that staff speak Italian, English and Spanish. There was only one person on staff while I stayed that spoke any English or Spanish, and he was only there on Friday. No one else spoke any English or Spanish, the languages I speak, which made it quite impossible to communicate.

Review 10:I loved the location and the building was quite charming. The airport lost my luggage and so the wifi was really helpful.

Review 11:Old run down , the two staff we spoke to had very little or no English and had no comprehension of "booking.com" we didn't stay . When I indicated that we were not staying and requested my documents back the man through it over the desk and sounded unfriendly . I recommend you take this property off booking.com. Every other stay we have booked via booking.com has been on the better side, and I am still using it as my first choice for accomodation

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:At present can't think of a thing!

Review 14:Outstanding breakfast and dinner options. Wonderful staff, and terrace. You felt you were in a movie. Great town with many restaurants. Wonderful site to catch a boat to travel along to coast South.

Review 15:Nice historic building

Review 16:Lovely building if a little faded

Review 17:This building was very interesting for us. A bit of history

Review 18:Historical Building! Plenty of architectural details :) good location

Review 19:Gracious staff, gorgeous building, beautiful views.

Review 20:The shower cabin was mouldy.

Review 21:A very special house nicely situated.

Review 22:The beds were uncomfortable and there was thick dust under the beds.

Review 23:The original features.

Review 24:The hotel is old world

Review 25:I liked everything.

Review 26:Great location - very close to the seashore and the scenic walk, quiet, easy parking, the room was clean, the bathroom a bit old but everything functioned. A character building - be ready for an adventure and surprise, not for travellers looking for perfection. Good breakfast.

Review 27:Hard lumpy pillows!

Review 28:Good car park once you've squeezed your car through the gates! Some way outside the centre of Genoa, it was a short walk to the bus stop (No 14) which takes you into the centre of Genoa. Lots of restaurants close by. Friendly, helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast.

Review 29:The hotel was TIRED and was an old house full of character ruined by a bad conversion to an hotel. Ancient bathroom fittings, poor shower. The breakfast was terrible - rotten fruit in a basket straight out of the fridge that no-one had looked at closely enough. Surly waitress at breakfast, other staff seemed pleasant. Not value for money. Not a good experience, really.

Review 30:Nothing much.

Review 31:Not a real 2 star, more like a cheap hostel Bad mantained Bathroom is ajoke (no bathroom or awful) Hard to access with a big car Dirty Old in abad way Personel unfriendly Bad odor Tiny elevator Internet pictures anddescription are deceiving dont go under any circunstance

Review 32:This lovely old slightly dilapidated mansion is special. The rooms aren't for the perfectionist. This place is for people wanting a bit of soul on their journey. Hopefully a zillionaire will never buy it and turn it into a 5 star hotel. Enjoy the difference.

Review 33:breakfast

Review 34:just a few hundred meters away from coast, The building is ancient but well organized. Spacious rooms and also ideal for backpackers. free parking is nice too.

Review 35:People have to be aware that this is an old fashioned hotel with old mattresses, small bathrooms, and no a/c. It is not for those who are used to modern hotels.

Review 36:It is a classic OLD hotel in a nice town with great views. The breakfast was great.

Review 37:The towels are really unacceptable

Review 38:The hotel is located in a quiet and beautiful suburb, has a genuine renaissance atmosphere, decent and clean rooms and a good breakfast

Review 39:Just was unable to control the temperature of the room. It just seemedto be a bit cool. The large room is hard to keep warm, but lookingforward to having a cool room during the summertime.

Review 40:I love the location where it was close to the coastline. I enjoyed theproximity of shops and dining area. Enjoyed the large room.

Review 41:really a nice place, well located, old mansion, a bit decadent...good breakfast on the terrasse, under beautiful trees.:)

Review 48:The location in Genoa and to the sea.

Review 49:It was hard to find but well worth the effort!

Review 50:We liked the fact that it was so close to the boardwalk along the sea. Fantastic photos!
