Reviews for Falkensteiner Family Hotel Diadora
Review 1:everything was perfect
Review 2:MY family had an amazing adventure , this hotel is super kid friendly but also very relaxing for the adults and the food was amazing
Review 3:As all inclusive we would not expect to have to pay additionally for drinks, ice creams etc in between set mealtimes.
Review 4:It was really family friendly. The hotel offered everything we wanted to make it a really relaxing enjoyable week
Review 5:We are really disappointed, this hotel is not any more what it was before and there is a big problem with cleaning rooms, in generally hotel and property in restaurant (dirty plates, glasses etc.).
Review 6:Room did never get 100% hoovered. Wifi was practically non existent.
Review 7:Good facilities for children, great food selection. The children loved the animation. Made perfect birthday for oir child.
Review 8:I gave "trinkgelt" for cleaning room to cleaning lady and this day was not realised tiil 18 oo we went tell to reception. We have find each day dirthy plates and glases , water for drink was nos good- has chmical smelt- we have to buy in the supermarket Last two day my wife receiced vomiting and diarhoea and then also 6 years soon and I.
Review 9:Slower wifi but that's expected due to high season Also getting food for snacks during the day was difficult because there's no where to purchase that after the buffet meals provided. They need to accommodate for those wanting to eat I between meals especially with children
Review 10:I liked how accommodating it was for babies
Review 11:Everything! The staff, were friendly and helpful. They always had something to do for the kids. The food was great. Beer and wine on tap for the buffet. Beds were comfy. Clean beach.
Review 12:Big hotel with lots of rooms and lots of guests, the pools and the beach can be quite crowded.
Review 13:Perfect location for a family holiday. The food buffet is definately a plus.
Review 14:The hotel location is about a 20 minute drive from Zadar. It's only a negative if you'd like to be closer to the town.
Review 15:The resort is definitely 4 star quality! The family rooms are modern & spacious. Full board option made it very easy for meals and selection of food was plentiful. Lots of activities to keep your kids entertained while the parents relax by the pool or beautiful sea. We'd go back to this hotel again!
Review 16:This is a really good location and resort for families, the Diadora is completely family orientated, with the option of beach or pool/s along with playgrounds and tons of activities.
Review 17:WIFI was not strong enough in the rooms at the end of the corridor. Car park a couple of mins walk from the hotel and costs 10EUR/day.
Review 18:Big car-free resort with great facilities. Organised activities and playroom are better suited for toddlers, but were also fine for smaller school children. Food (selection and quality) was exceptionally good.
Review 19:A bit difficult to navigate inside the hotel to find different places (pool, restaurant, etc) Garage is relatively far from entrance and not incl. in the price.
Review 20:Room is large enough for families, great food full pansion. Excellent pools, both inside and outside. Exceptional playrooms and programs for children. Neat and clean beach nearby the hotel.
Review 21:Very bad wifi!! It was a very clean room, but we occasionally spotted some ants in the room.
Review 22:The relaxed atmosphere starts with the check-in procedure and never stops! The facilities for the kids (falkyland) was very good. The food in the buffet restaurant is always fresh and has a lot of variation. Fantastic swimming pools and a giant waterslide
Review 23:- children playgrounds can get very full when hotel is full
Review 24:- bar near to playground - children swimming pools, very warm space - timing of vacation - not to crowded - hospitality of the personel
Review 25:Outdoor showers beside the pools were freezing. One morning the staff cooking fried eggs in the morning used the same utensils for cooking ham, when she picked up an egg for me it had a piece of ham on it, as a vegetarian I couldn't eat it.
Review 26:The food was lovely and there was lots of choice, staff were so friendly and fluent in English and German. There were loads of pools for choice, the kids disco was great for kids 3-7 years my daughter loved it, the falky mascot came to the lunch and dinner to see all the kids which was lovely. The rooms were sound proof, I never heard a child crying or any noise. Definitely the nicest hotel we ever stayed at. All the staff were very child friendly. We will definitely go back.
Review 27:No chance to find one...
Review 28:Light and warm rooms Kind and professional personnel Delicious meals Good sporting facilites Best toys, Playstation, movies... Everything possible that is forbidden at home :-)
Review 29:Mostly German speaking at kids activities. Beds a bit too firm. Ask for for extra pillows.
Review 30:Soft play, nursery, kids club, pools and little beach. Also little farm/zoo for kids. Spa. Great all inclusive restaurant food. Bar, terrace. Very well managed and organised. Staff very helpful. Nice views all around. Not noisy at night.
Review 31:Great hotel for family with children. Lots of things to do even if it is bed weather. Nice sand beach. Meals are plentiful and very tasty, everyone can find something for themselves to eat. We really enjoy stay in this hotel and we will return again.
Review 32:Food was great!! Accommodation perfect, clean and lot of space, morethan helpful staff and lot of activities for children - this is probablythe best family hote on Croatian Adriatic coast
Review 33:Sea is not good for small children who can't swim. There is only one tiny sand beach. Pools are all 1.4m deep, so children can't reach the bottom and should swim always in west jackets.
Review 34:Lots of activities and animation for children. Lots of pools. There is own small zoo with ponies, rabbits, geese and others. Excellent food! Always different fish and seafood
Review 35:We are Big trevellers, but Never have Been in a so cheap quality hotel. The Roms Are to small, the beds are unconfortable. The meals are unhealthy and terrible, no fresh juices...etc You feel Every moment they just want your money but give nothing. The sea was very dirthy, and small, so we didn't go in. And the "Sea view" means if You seat the corner of Your terrace You can See 2 meter from the Sea. The Programm for children have also Not a Big niveau.
Review 36:Small and not well designed rooms. Lack of necessary equipment in rooms such as electric kettle.
Review 37:Excellent facilities for families with children! Best in class. Excellent and friendly staff understanding needs of young customers.
Review 38:1. WiFi. No WiFi. It will not work (may be few minutes a day with extremelly slow connection) 2. Location. Far from Zadar. Only taxi/own car. 3. It's hotel for kids, but there would be cigarette smokers everywhere. So if you like to breath a smoke - that's a hotel for you. 4. Food. Food is OK, but not more than that. Nothing special. Conclusion? For 300EUR per day - that's not a best or even good choice. Skip this hotel if possible.
Review 39:Housekeeping is not of a high class resort. Never once did they clean the balcony. Floor wasn't wet cleaned. In general room was always dusty. Pools are big but not of a highest level of cleanness. Water is clear but small litter that stood aside the pool hasn't been taken away for days. Also, playroom for kids is too small.
Review 40:When i asked my daughter would she come here again, she said yes. We went there strickly cause of her. So it's satisfactory from her point of view. If you ask us parents...Food was absolutely great! Turns out we were eating all day long. Staff in the restaraunt quick and kind. Animators on the pool very dinamic and do their job properly. Animators in general devoted to small guests and guests in general. Our room was a falky room and was satisfied with the space.
Review 41:My son was sick in the middle of the night and there was no housekeeping staff working. I'm sure that in a hotel that caters to families with children, there are bound to be some accidents. I would have thought that there would be one housekeeping person on night shift.
Review 42:The staff was wonderful! Starting with the check-in staff, they were very helpful. Marino was always friendly. There is so much for the kids to do and the food was quite enjoyable. Special thanks to the animation staff. All the ladies were great with the kids and Marin and Damir always made time for the guests. Also, Sina made the days enjoyable and he was very helpful!! Overall, this was a great experience.
Review 43:Location
Review 44:Food was amazing. Diner could run til 9:30 or 10 for adults not 9. Coffee should be available at all times Kids beds should be more comfortable
Review 45:The general conditions of the hotel are deteriorating year by year. It needs a complete renewal.
Review 46:EVERYTHING !!! 5+ STARS.
Review 47:Very good food, nice staff
Review 48:Room with sea view initially offerd was th result of typical approach
Review 49:My daughther smile after several experiences
Review 50:Lunch and Dinner had no main course variety!
Review 51:everything was good.
Review 52:everything, room clean, a lot of activity for children, the best food!!!
Review 53:Room is slightly too small
Review 54:Very friendly staff, good food, very clean, well organised.
Review 55:Excellent service greatfriendly staff awesome fun for kids
Review 56:Wifi isnot working!
Review 57:Food is fantastic! Animation team and program for kids is great, a lot of different programs! Vefy nice hotel stuff.
Review 58:comfortable room, great food, perfect kids entertainment
Review 59:The food was very good, a stuff was very kindly.
Review 60:high beds for children in Family room (if they fall down from the bed)
Review 61:- good food and wine
Review 62:kindness everywhere, the children are really taken care of, very friendly staff, excellent animation team, great food,
Review 63:Wine Lots of people (yet we went during high season)
Review 64:Staff Children's facilities Modern rooms Food
Review 65:Wifi is not working in the room.
Review 66:Please fix the go-karts / remove the banner from the beach
Review 67:Location is great, food is great
Review 68:Costly but perfect !
Review 69:food is excellent, swimmingpools are ok
Review 70:Pool bar open at 12?! Only 4 tables on outside cafe terrace, bad choice of wine (they lose opportunity to make more money by not offering enough services). SPA: massage service below average. Diadora looks much nicer but Borik is better in terms of service and animation.
Review 71:great service, animation team, overall Falkensteiner approach: I have been around in 5 different Falky's in 3 countries.
Review 72:An extremelly well fitted hotel for the needs of small, 3-7 y'old children, with a highly active and positive staff and abundance of child-related facilities. I was there with my wife and 2.5y son in May 2014 and found our stay very satisfying. Seriously recommending this hotel to anyone with a small child. You will get some rest (this time).
Review 73:Staff members are only occasionally friendly. On two occasions I witnessed sun beds collapsing on guests while staff members were close by or walking by. No one was interested to help. Meals are buffet style, but used plates are very rarely cleared from the tables so you can easily wind up having a table stacked up with dirty plates. Family rooms are not that spacious so make sure you get a suite. Parking is paid, no adequate free alternatives.
Review 74:Great for kids. I'd say 3-6 yo is the sweet spot. Dinners are great, breakfasts good, but lunches less than awesome. Great selection of activities for kids, especially if they are German speaking. I don't remember having to wait long for anything, anywhere.
Review 75:The pricing is not completely clear on the website, especially with respect to additional costs for babysitting.
Review 76:The attention to detail especially for the children. The wide range of activities. The sauna for adults.
Review 77:Fantastic Resort Family Hotel. 6 No. swimming pools, gym, disco, bar, beach...very nice and friendly crew ... Excellent location - on seaside close to Zadar...and food: Buy all inclusive and enjoy fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highly recommended.
Review 78:Better specification of specific food during the breakfast (for exp. meat). Price of parking place – too high. Beach - definitely needs improvements.
Review 79:Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Hotel staff is too polite and available in every moment. Kids program is very well organized and fun. Food – excellent! In general, hotel poses a very good and stable standard, which is improving continuously. My family and me, are visiting Hotel „Diadora“ for already a couple of years, and we are more than satisfied. This Hotel will be definitely our choice again in the future as a destination for a good vocation.
Review 80:We love this hotel !! This was our third time and I am sure it was not our last. The staff is great . Nice helpful and really make you feel welcome . The rooms are very nice and big and the hotel is clean . The food was great and the activities both for children and adults was teriffic. The best summer vacation a family can ask for !!
Review 81:This is not really a negative comment, but this is really a great hotel for families with younger children. If you have older children, there are not so many activities to grab their attention, except for the pool!
Review 82:A lovely hotel - extremely family friendly. The food in the restaurant was very good, with a varied choice every day. Very friendly, helpful staff.
Review 83:- drinks from automat at lunch and dinner seemed dilluted
Review 84:- good for kids - very nice staff - lots of things to do (playroom, mini zoo, swimming pools, playground)
Review 85:Sleeping. Mattresses in beds are uncomfortable, worn out. The duvets were too hot for the season.
Review 86:The Falky's animation group. These guys are doing amazing job with kids. The wellness and spa area.
Review 87:Since our daughter is older (9), we would never want to be there in high season with a ton of screaming small children. There are of course a lot more programs available in high season, but we don't like that type of of experience (super crowded). Do not come here if you do not have children!! We did see some tour buses of older adults, but they went off all day on group tours and had a special reserved section of the dining room away from the families (hotel was not crowded). The location is also a bit remote. Without a car there is really nothing to do within walking distance. However, the hotel was extremely helpful in organizing taxis and a rental car. If you want an experience where you get up and explore a new location every day, this is not your hotel. If you want a relaxing experience with amazing food and with every possible whim of your children catered to, this is a great experience. It is do-able to explore a bit, you just can't walk. Do be aware of the amount of loud and small children, it is after all a 'family' hotel.
Review 88:Without a doubt, the most friendly, helpful and kind staff I have ever seen at any hotel, even the fancy ones. Everybody from the housekeepers to the kitchen help was warm and welcoming. Everybody also spoke English very well, and often it was the common language for a movie or something if everybody was from all over. While not a fancy hotel, it is exactly what I expected and was practicle and had everything you could ever want. I also don't think they promote themselves as a luxory hotel though. Every possible need or desire was taken care of for the children. If you have very small children, it would be great as you have to bring nothing. For older kids, the staff was fantastic and our daughter often wanted eat and play with the staff of the kid`s club. There were not a lot of older kids around when we were there, but my daughter managed to make great friends every day who kept her busy. Exceptional staff at the kid`s club. I was amazed. I also thought the design of the rooms was extremely clever. Our daughter loved having her own space, and the doors could be left open or closed. Since we went off-season, we got an amazing deal and the hotel was not at all crowded. The food was excellent, way above what I would expect from mass catering. Not gourmet, but way better than I expected. I think in the summer they do more themes, entertainment, etc. We knew this when booking though. I think in the summer the hotel gets very crowded with a lot of small children, so do be sure you want this type of experience if you go in high season. I really want to compliment all of the staff on taking care of us so well and being just so...NICE. We also lucked out that there were not a lot of people so we were able to get extra attention.
Review 89:They charge 9.5 eur for garage per day. For the price you pay for your stay garage should be free of charge. The door to hotel by the pool should be automatic. They charge for everything additionally!
Review 90:I expected a more throughout room cleaning in a 5star hotel - like daily vacuum cleaning or rubbish emptying
Review 91:vast choice of food, which were delicious lots of playground for children, pool for children
Review 92:The entertainment was not good at all. But this did not matter, as weentertained our Grandson. Could do with a better standard of adultentertainment, no not pole dancing ha-ha Regards Tom
Review 93:The food was exceptional and the staff great. The location was lovely
Review 94:Location, too crowded, the food was fast prepared and often not cooked enough.
Review 95:Very clean new hotel, good service , excelent for children, the room was perfect.
Review 96:Great hotel. My only suggestion: extend the lunch hour later. Since the hotel price includes three meals, I was planning to eat lunch at the hotel daily, but because lunch ends on the early side, there is almost a 5-hour break between lunch and dinner so our family always missed the included lunch and then had to pay extra for our own late lunch.
Review 97:The facilities are very nice and child-friendly. Staff is great. Food was alos quite good. Location is perfect, close to the beach but only 15 minute drove from old town Zadar.
Review 98:Location is not close to Zadar. You need a car to get there, it is approximately 15km away. Pillows could be better. Also, there is not any map available of the area, if you want to take a walk or bike ride. At the hotel they did not have any map material available. Parking garage is 200m away from the hotel, and there is extra charge at the end of the holiday. Why is this not included in the price?
Review 99:Rooms are spacious and roomy, which is great if you have small children. Also, seperate room for children for sleeping withing the room is great idea. There are some nicely solved interior architectual solutions - TV to be used either in living or sleeping area, toilet and shower door in one, shower and bath tube available in bathroom... Also, if you have small children you have small stepper available, kid's toilette chair... all very thoughtful, children oriented... Food was really excellent, if you are a pasta lover you will not be disappointed. All pasta dishes I have tried were top, not to mention other dishes... In addition there is a kid's corner available , where there is additional selection of dishes suitable for children...
Review 100:fantastic family room, nice view, very helpful and kind staff, super facilities for kids, nice interiors, very good buffet choice and quality of meals,
Review 101:I missed trees (pines) so usual for that area in Croatia. So territorycould be more "green", and sea promenade easier to walk with buggies.Sandy beach is too small for qty of people. But this is really peanutscomparing general great benefits of the hotel.
Review 102:Very very baby friendly! Hotel facilities, staff, food is just perfect, especially for babies 0+.I would for sure come again to some of falkensteiner hotels
Review 103:Poor menu for the kids. No porridge for breakfast, which is the easiest thing to cook, and too many fried food (almost like in McDonald's), no fruits in kid's restaurant.
Review 104:Very nice hotel, especially for a family holiday. Well-equiped rooms, friendly stuff and many possibilities for children's activities, even in the bar there is kid's corner.
Review 105:To our taste, the (at times quite noisy) entertainment program could have ended earlier in the evenings; also, we felt that linen should be changed automatically after one week at the latest.
Review 106:Very professional, friendly and helpful staff; separate mini-bedoroom for children within the room; quality of the food (buffet). All in all, a well thought-out concept targeted at families with children.
Review 107:not so good looking especially rooms like on the pictures, overcrowded
Review 108:generally good but only good,.but excellent facilities for children too expensive hotel for such quality food excellent
Review 109:Quite far from ''civilization'',rooms are not so big for a familly of 4,air condition could do better.
Review 110:Very good quality family hotel with exellent food and animation and kidcare program.
Review 111:The only issue we had was the first night. There wasn't anti mosquitosprotection in the room and our son was attacked well during the night.
Review 112:We like the beach, especially good for very young children ( we werewith our 13 months old son). The choice and quality of the food alsovery good. The whole area is excellent, close to Zadar (only 10 km) butvery calm. Easily you can go to Zadar every evening. Especially goodhotel for 5-10 years old children. The staff also very helpful.
Review 113:One thing is a bit a sad issue... The beds are a little bit to firm. They have very thick mattresses and even foam toppers, but the comfortis to firm.
Review 114:We got to know "Falkensteiner" for the first time during this yearsholiday... We loved all of it : the hotel, the way they think aboutchildren, the readiness of the staff, the kitchen crew and what theyserved... I am on a diet now !This was a perfect holiday : THANK YOU GUYS ! We will see you again...
Review 115:We liked everything...
Review 116:Everything...great place for families with kids, it is wonderful...we had a problem with my parents room and the staff was very responsive and fixed. Great trip for 4 days...
Review 117:Overpriced an crowded. 400 eur/day for 2 adults and 2 children 4,7 forlow season is to much for this hotel. Good food, large beach, butnothing special...
Review 118:I missed coffee on lunch and dinner. Coffee was only available at breakfast.
Review 119:Diadora was really made for families with kids. Everything was thought with kids in mind. We had a good time there using different pools and playgrounds.
Review 120:Nothing.Just wish they also had coffee (decaf too) during lunch and dinner. Just a small pot somewhere at the buffet. They have coffee available at the bar but you have to pay for it.
Review 121:We loved loved loved it. A++++One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in (as long as you have children). Very detail-oriented and thoughtful. From the minute we walked in (we were quite tired from the plane ride with 2 toddlers), we were sweetly greeted by two ladies at reception who immediately gave the kiddies balloons, gummies and a coloring kit. Then we were offered welcome drinks. Ahhh... Room: The room was clean, spacious and had a wonderful view of the pools and sea. There were two welcome bags with towels and water. You can also request a "baby phone" which phones your handy if the kiddie cry. Restaurant: The food was scrumptious and varied. They also had a kid buffet corner for more appealing options. I usually don't like buffets but this one was excellent. My fav meals were breakfast and dinner. Faulky Land: Any parent's dream. We would let our kids eat and then drop them off here for a peaceful meal. They were so excited! Bar: No joke but there was a kid/baby padded corner in the bar. Beach: Small but enough for family enjoyment. Indoor pools: Perfect for a cool or rainy day. A great surprise for the kids. The swimming lesson were great too! I recommend. Gets the kids tired for a nice nap. Outdoor pools: The pirate ship was the highlight of my kids day. They also have a mini playground area and other pools. Sauna: Sweet retreat! Staff: Everyone everyone everyone was super sweet and nice. I couldn't believe how superb the service was. A relief for stressed-out parents! They even offered us bottled water on our way out!
Review 122:Parking garage was far from the hotel, and this resort is actually not in Zadar but on the border of the town
Review 123:Internet worked well in room, staff was super frienldly, loved that the children had their own sleep area separate from ours. Food was excellent, dining room well decorated, kid zone was amazing. Hotel aslo had indoor and outdoor accomadation for children and adult
