Reviews for Hotel Villa Belvedere
Review 1:1. Don't visit this hotel without car. It locate as stand alone group of buildings at the road. 2. It is very cold at the rooms 3. restaurant was close for dinner (but should be open according to the schedule and at the reception) and it is difficult to find another places to eat at the evening (8 p.m.) 4. dining room as too small for all visitors (just 4-5 tables) 5. uncomfortable bathroom - no shell to put soap or shampoo at the shower.
Review 2:nice territory, authentic old hotel, good dog:), not big price.
Review 3:- if you are going outside (e.g., to the nearest town), you should leave the keys. it can be a problem, if you'll return at the eve - in our case there was only dog at the reception, so you should find someone to get the keys from the room
Review 4:- bar zone is perfect - dog guard is smart and very nice - rooms are cozy - good breakfast
Review 5:breakfast oke, maybe an egg, some more bread and cheese instead of biscuits would make it perfectly!! But cappuccinos served individually is great!! To visit the village you have to take the car, walking is to far!
Review 6:The hotel is fine, good location near highway!! Every day clean towels! The hotel is an beautifull old villa with characteristic rooms and and vertrekken! The pool is lovely! Staff very friendly and taking good care of you! Also the dog "Pongo" is great!!
Review 7:Would be better if we had air conditionning but even without it it was OK when you open the window and just let in the nice toscanian air
Review 8:Nice historical villa near Siena and San Gimigliano with a pool available at nearly every hour of a day
Review 9:The staff is very friendly and nice. The pool large and clean. The breakfast is fresh and plentiful. Have to more? No! This is a perfect place!!! Mille grazie!!!
Review 10:Bathroom is terrible. Small, old fashioned.
Review 11:Staff is kind and helpful. There is a pool in the garden which is great after a long and tiring day. Breakfast is a little bit plastic but when we asked for egg we got that.
Review 12:the staff not do nice. The breakfast was just cookies and sweets. Not for us!
Review 13:Good location near San Gimingano and Volterra. Don't miss the restaurant in colle di val d'elsa alto named L'officina.
Review 14:Review for Villa BelvedereWe have previously stayed at this hotel in 1990 and May 2012, having found the hotel in 1990 by chance. The hotel is a previously the holiday home of Count Ceramelli a Florentine noble. The rooms have beautifully painted ceilings and the family owners were utterly delightful.Time has not been entirely kind to the position of the villa with industrialization replacing the vineyards which surrounded it in 1990, but it remains in an excellent place for day trips to other parts of Tuscany. However major changes have occurred in the hotel since two years ago. The lovely family we looked forwarded to meeting again have moved to Siena and the hotel seems to be run by several young staff of limited competence and absolutely no interest. We were shown to a superior room which had recently been refurbished and was charming. It was spotlessly clean, but there were no plugs in the basin, bath or bidet and it was FREEZING - indeed far colder than the rest of the villa or even outside. Despite turning on the heating, at our request, it seemed very intermittent and we spent a cold night. Worse we had lunch and dinner which was just adequate in quality, but served by a waiter who was at best disinterested and more accurately described as rude. The sight of one of the kitchen staff smelling the meat and wrinkling their nose before cooking it did not increase our confidence for future meals. The bar had been depleted by a Halloween party the night before our arrival with no attempt to restock it over 48 hours. We had booked for a week, but with great sadness, on account of our previous lovely experiences, abandoned our stay on the second afternoon as we had become convinced that we would remain cold and uncomfortable and continue to be treatedas a nuisance to the staff (we seemed to be the only guests).
Review 15:Two previous stays in this hotel in 1990 and May 2012. Lovely family who used to own and run the hotel. Position for touring Tuscany Leaving after 24 hours although we had originally booked for a week
Review 16:Great restaurant Breakfast: A lots of food, fresh home made cakes, scramble eggs ..you can eat for luch as well:-) etc.. Location amazing, staff very nice, friendly, villa from 1700 with very beautiful rooms, very clean, big garden, pool, you canvisit places like Siena, San Gimignano etc. Free wifi in room! de Definitely we are coming back!!
Review 17:This hotel is ideally located for places like Siena. Had a real family feel to it. The home made pasta and other bites in the restaurant were excellent.
Review 18:Not a lot
Review 19:The staff, the food, the atmosphere. We have gone to Belevedere 6 times in the last 10 years. We love it! It retires my soul. Since Manuella has taken over, it's even better!
Review 20:The location was ideal, the hotel charming and the dog was the cutest.
Review 21:Very good in between everything. Super Nice hotel manager. Great place
Review 22:It is not comfortable. It is a kind of spooky because it looks like an old church/castle...
Review 23:it would be okay if its free of charge or less
Review 24:well located , quiet , must order breakfast in advance , large rooms - minimally equipped
Review 25:Overall: Dilapidated! Room... needs a TOTAL RENOVATIONS, starting with the bathroom (unspeakable!) - totally ridiculous the shower stall (and even dangerous - one may skid on the wet floor and then...)!!! The staff was nice and cooperative, but... to reach one's room one has to do two to four flights of stairs: the lift/elevator would be mandatory to start with: what about disabled people!? Tiotally impervious to seniors or disabled people.
Review 26:Location: Excellent. Restaurant: Very good. Very Romantic.
Review 27:no airco and no fan
Review 28:the neighboor was good and the owners are very gentle it was a very nice hotel very romantic and the t bone steak was super!!!! All the food was super
Review 29:Breakfast was weak, and relatively expensive, room was noisy (just on the highway), no minibar (hot wheather), water of the swimming pool was questionable a little bit, staff was almost not visible.
Review 30:It's a nice old building, witha nice atmosphere, very clean bathroom, beautiful plants and trees in the old garden, and really close to the highway from availability perspective. Practical for a short stay.
Review 31:Everything is old. No airco in room. Shower is kind of puzzle in bathroom, strange construction. Price breakfast is a little bit high.
Review 32:Location. Friendly staff
Review 33:Although it is a very old building that is fading a bit around the edges the Villa Belvedere is a characterul location. The pool area is basic but good and the restaurant offered good local cuisine. A cost effective basic hotel not too far from Siena.
Review 34:Was not well signposted coming from Colle Val D'Elsa direction.
Review 35:Good sized rooms with original décor (old fashioned country house) and helpful staff. Bus stop outside gate with buses to Siena and San Gimignano. Good restaurant and swimming pool. Peaceful.
Review 36:Hotel and garden is a bit run down and dilapidated. Restaurant was uninspired.
Review 37:Convenient for visiting Siena and other areas of Tuscany, if you have a car. Room was clean and quiet. Staff was friendly.
Review 38:Could not shave due to missing plug for bathroom sink. Dripping bathroomtaps. Fridge in room was not working upon arrival. Food in on siterestaurant was 'average' at best. All in all, we felt the hoteland facilities were over priced
Review 39:The villa has very big and nice garden, which needs to be maintained.
Review 40:We booked this hotel during our trip in Tuscany. We choose it because it is a typical villa for this region, and our expectations was covered. Nice and clean.
Review 41:A small portion of the staff were not very helpful Not exactly a problem of the hotel, but the restaurant is under the average of the area.
Review 42:It is at the center of every place you need to visit in Tuscany (Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Chianti, Val d'Orcia) It has the biggest double room in Italy! Classic decoration
Review 43:The bed was very uncomfortable. I asked for a queen bed and got two twins.. The showers are an adventure and really hazardous if you are not careful. The staff was very nice and the place is filled with history. It is perfect for a 1 night to a max of two nights stay not more than that. Lastly, you could hear other guest making out since the walls are paper thin ;)
Review 44:Is close to all major cities in Tuscany
Review 45:Beautiful house and gardens - a very relaxing atmosphere pervades the grounds. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was v. good. Not far from Sienna. Value for money... OUTSTANDING!
Review 46:The villa is very easy to find, located near the highway, in the middle of Tuscany, very close to Florence, Siena, San Gomignano, Colle Val d'Elsa etc. it offers large free parking, free wi-fi and a beautiful pool. The villa is old, but well kept and the room and bathroom were spacious and very clean! The receptionist, Manuela, was very friendly an helpful. She suggested us many places to visit and restaurants to eat and told us many things about that area that one can't find in any tour guide. All in all, the villa was a good choice ;)
Review 47:Pool needed a quick sweep through - apart from that lovely and clean.
Review 48:Lovely old Italian villa that has seen slightly better days, but adds tothe charm. Everywhere was very clean. Pool was a lovely. Despite beingnear a very main road, it was very quiet.
Review 49:Poor equipment in the room -no table, no chairs, only tv, bedsand fridge
Review 50:Nice hotel close to highway Firenze-Siena, nice swimming pool open 24/H.very good restaurant (delicious steeks) and nice staff. Wi-Fi in theroom is available:) I recomend this place
Review 51:we spent two nights at the Hotel Villa Belvedere because a friend was getting married nearby. So this hotel mainly because of the location, as it is quite close to Siena, Monteriggioni, Abbadia a Isola, etc. However, we really enjoyed our stay to the point that we basically never left the Hotel (and the nice outdoor pool) except to go to our friend's wedding. The staff is friendly and fluently speaks several languages, the food served at lunch is good (we decided to go for the "buffet antipasto" twice, as it is a great value for what you pay), the rooms are clean, quiet and with nice decor, the pool is really great to cool down in the hot "estate toscana". The wifi (though not always flawless) is a plus!
Review 52:It is a charming old-fashioned villa with a superb location, central position for visiting the most beautiful places of Tuscany. We were a little afraid to see that it is next to an industrial area but once we entered the gate abd saw the beautiful garden and the building, we forgot everything else. Although it is next to the main road we could not hear the traffic noise from our room. The furniture is old, the rooms and the place has a genuine style. The owner family is very nice and helpful. We arrived to the hotel after visiting Siena, we were quite tired and happily jumped into the large pool immediately. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was also OK. We got very good value for our money.
Review 53:We liked it all.
Review 54:The location was wonderful-quiet and peaceful, yet close to Siena. The staff were most helpful-made phonecalls to search times for church services for us.The meal at the restaurant was of good quality. And the building - true Tuscany! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 55:There are few things that could be changed and hotel would be much better...
Review 56:The location is great to explore that part of Toscany, hotel is more sutable for summer due to lack of heating....
Review 57:I didn't like the towels - unabsorbent and fusty, although certainlyclean. It is quite far away from the town entre - 15 euro in a taxi- and this was not made clear in the accommodation information priorto booking.
Review 58:I loved the old-fashioned decor and furniture, although it was not whatI expected from the photos - you should make more of this, as peoplewould visit here for this purpose. The rooms were massive, and yourconcierge was incredibly polite, hospitable and helpful.
Review 59:There's no elevator, so if you have heavy bags be aware of it. Be verycareful in the shower, its slippery and has no rubber grips. We tried touse google maps to find the hotel and google maps gives a completelydifferent location (there are just private villas there), from where thehotel actually is. Buffet was cold, albeit delicious, and the chef toldus the pizza was leftovers from lunch. Not only that, we got the sameleftover pizza and cheese from dinner for breakfast again (for which wepaid 7euro 50). So, just order coffee as the half breakfast.
Review 60:The hotel was set in a beautiful typical Tuscan villa with a stunninggarden and grounds. The rooms were beautiful, and rustic and therestaurant featured mouth watering food. We had the buffet featuringtypical Tuscan cuisine, and you could sample everything they had tooffer. The staff was extremely friendly and sweet. Parking was ample andperfect for continuing onto Sienna and San Gimianno.
Review 61:The dated bathroom facilities. Still acceptable.
Review 62:The staff, the cappuccino, the breakfast and the dinner in the restaurant were excellent. Q

Review 64:Very charming place. Beautiful view. Good food at reasonable prices.
Review 65:The building and the garden needs restauration
Review 66:It's a hystorical building very interesting
Review 67:Internet didn't work, room was nicely but over furnished so there wasn't any room to even open the entrance door.
Review 68:Nice views.
Review 69:The hotel's restaurant is excellent, the bed is quite big.
Review 70:A very accomodating small hotel. Well located for the Tuscany area. comfortable and clean.
Review 71:Very romantic old Tuscany villa. Good location for trips by car.
Review 72:It's dated and old, but clean.
Review 73:price/quality and the swimming pool! For backpackers and people who stayed one night, it's perfect.
Review 74:Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Excellent location if you are driving from which to visit Sienna and Florence. If you go, do not miss Poggibonsi
Review 75:Huge bedroom and bathroom. Great breakfast.
Review 76:Nothing
Review 77:The attention, the meats, the price
Review 78:The ancient building
