Reviews for Olympic Hotel

Review 1:Great and silent hotel. We enjoyed the wonderful balcony with the exciting view on the bay of Itea. The breakfeast was rich in variety. Very recommendable!

Review 2:Nil. Bed could be more comfortable but not bad.

Review 3:Great location with unbeatable view. Met on arrival as walking down street. Put into room without fuss. Very homely feel.also rooms are clean and nice.

Review 4:Easy walking distance to the ancient site and restaurants. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Fantastic view from the rooms. All pretty basic - but you get what you pay for ....so no grumbles.

Review 5:Given the current situation in Greece, as a precaution, we wrote to booking.com about a week in advance to enquire about payment method. booking.com then got in touch with the hotel and I received an email confirming we could pay with credit card. However, when we checked in, the staff insisted we pay with cash. It was a small amount so it didn't matter so much but we felt the hotel should have made it clear when booking.com contacted them or changed the form of payment to cash only in the terms & conditions page on booking.com. Parking can be a challenge in Delphi, especially if you are not good with parallel parking on narrow streets.

Review 6:The rooms with the mountain view only equipped with two separate beds instead of one double. The internet is quite slow. And the hot water is not always ready to use.

Review 7:The view is so fascinating!

Review 8:Very convenient location, nice little room, free WIFI, helpful front desk, good breakfast. We walked to the city center and to the archeological site and museum. It was no problem to find a parking on the street.

Review 9:This hotel is well located with rooms that overlook a stunning panorama. Slightly strange is the fact that the rooms have balconies but only a window onto them - anyway, views were stunning... Our room was clean but a little small for our family of four. The single Beds were a little too small for our kids and we're all fairly short. A little bit of a blast from the past in decor but that was fun. Breakfast was very good.

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:Located near the entrance to the town, this is a pleasant small hotel with friendly staff. All rooms have balconies with the jaw dropping room down the hills to the sea. Breakfast was basic but good and there is parking on the street outside. A 15 minute walk through the town will get you to the museum and historical site - plenty of places to eat , drink and shop. This town can be very crowded during July/August.

Review 12:The staff were unresponsive. The room was stuffy with no air unless you left balcony door open. Owner was upset that we asked for the remote for the AC. WIFI free but could not use in the room. Generally hotel was a bit run down. Needs a make over.

Review 13:We had a sea view room and the view was beautiful. Nice walk from hotel to the ruins.

Review 14:In the price of the room the breakfast was included. But coffee and bread might to be of more quality. The refriderator could be better cleaned. (green fungi)

Review 15:a quiet place in a touristic place

Review 16:nothing

Review 17:room is really lovely, very homey and comfortable. the house itself is what I like the most as well. the living room and the family are really friendly. great view from the balcony too.

Review 18:This small hotel is quiet, but on the main street with a great view to the sea. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was good. We stayed here with our 2 year old and had a very good experience. The owner was very friendly and accommodating to our 2 year old.

Review 19:Great location with many restaurants nearby. The archaeological site is just 20 minutes walk away. Staff were very nice. WIFI was good. Breakfast was good. I would absolutely stay here again.

Review 20:fridge in room didn't work. there was s loud hum noise when key was put in to turn on power. had to turn power off at night to be able to sleep

Review 21:view was great. staff friendly

Review 22:The staff suggested us twice without even asking to go to a restaurant, the result was that we chose one different as we didn't like this. If you ask you suggest but if you don't you cannot keep insisting on it Breakfast was quite poor and the living room was all but friendly with the owners the whole time there watching greek tv

Review 23:The location is great in the center of the Delphi and the room had a stunning sea view even if we had not paid for that (it was very calm the hotel) Rooms were very clean

Review 24:Some kind of chemical sweet scent in the hallway. Small flying bugs in the bathroom.

Review 25:Great and new queen bed. Very comfortable. Free wifi. Good location. E

Review 26:Very friendly & helpful staff. Lovely breakfast, rooms on backside have an amazing view. Located in the main street of Delphi at walking distance from the museum and archeological site.

Review 27:Nothing.

Review 28:Amazing hotel! Super friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Majestic views from the rooms! Was perhaps my favorite lodging in Greece, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Delphi.

Review 29:The staff was helpful and kind. They went out of their way to work with me and my schedule changes. The room was beautiful and the view from my balcony was amazing! The breakfast was very good.

Review 30:Stunning views, nice rooms, helpful staff. Walk to everywhere.

Review 31:Smell of cigarette smoke coming into bathroom from outside.

Review 32:Excellent views from the balcony. Friendly family run hotel

Review 33:Excellent location and staff

Review 34:the breakfast was not good

Review 35:Limited parking on the street.

Review 36:Location good. Breakfast very good. Owners very helpful and friendly. View was great.

Review 37:Excellentes vistas

Review 38:Only 2 TV channels in Greek and hard beds.

Review 39:Wonderful view and well situated in Delphi town. Aircon worked well during a heat wave.

Review 40:Out of date rooms

Review 41:Good location

Review 42:Good value for money, great location.

Review 43:the owner was very friendly and helpful (spoke English too). the view was stunning from the balcony of the room

Review 44:Had to switch rooms as the WIFI doesn't work on lower floor. Smoking in foyer area.

Review 45:View and quiet room.

Review 46:Location in the lovely Delphi village. Very clean & tidy, friendly family run hotel. Nice breakfast.

Review 47:Everything!

Review 48:Very nice hosts and the view from room 32 was amazing.

Review 49:Card machine for payment not working Small shower

Review 50:Location

Review 51:twins beds, hard as rocks!

Review 52:breakfast

Review 53:Breakfast room was a bit dreary.

Review 54:Gorgeous view from the room. Room was quiet.

Review 55:it is a good hotel with not friendly host, gave us some bad menmory of the beautiful delphi.

Review 56:Great outlook to wonderful Greece nature from balcony, many good taverns, nearby the grandiose historical places.

Review 57:Rooms, location, service, staff, breakfast....everything was excellent.

Review 58:No criticisms

Review 59:Amazing views, nice room, pleasant people, great deal.

Review 60:Owner was very friendly and helpful. Balcony had a wonderful view. Easy walk to delphi sights.

Review 61:> big terrace > big and clean rooms

Review 62:Two of the four beds were too short for a teenager. A very tiny bathroom.

Review 63:Location in the center.

Review 64:concerned staff, excellent location in walking distance to the archeological site.

Review 65:Internet was spotty

Review 66:The view, the breakfast, the staff. the location to sites

Review 67:It is a bit far from the site (on another far end of the road from the site) , however, it is not a big deal. It is still in a walking distance from the site (ten to fifteen minutes) since the city itself is very small and it is nice to have an opportunity to see all shops all along the road when you walk back to the hotel!!!

Review 68:It was a nice stay. The room is comfortable with a big balcony. Breakfast is good. The owners are very kind and helpful. They can't speak much English but there was no big problem in communication. They might look a bit unfriendly at first sight but then you know that they are nice. The male owner even gave me a ride to the museum and the taberna on his motorcycle. In sum, I like it and will go back again.

Review 69:Phone in room had a sticker indicating it could be used for toll free and international collect calls. I attempted to do so after one of the desk staff said, "Just dial '0' to get an outside line". I was later presented with a very large fee for "847 units of phone time". I had no way to dispute the charge, and had to pay. The owner then came into the room and removed the sticker from the phone. A very expensive lesson in not believing information about the phone calls unless you get it in writing.

Review 70:Location was great. Close enough to walk to the Ancient Delphi site and also close to many good restaurants.

Review 71:Owner reluctant to provide commonly expected services (air conditioning remote) and expected payment payment immediately upon arrival, reception was not staffed 24 hours.

Review 72:Convenient location on the main drag in Delphi, good breakfast.

Review 73:We requested a non smoking room. As soon as we entered the lobby, we had trouble breathing from people smoking in the lobby. That smoke reached easily to the second floor room, it was pretty bad. I doubt that they have truly non smoking rooms, since it wasn't updated in at least 30 years and a lot of people still smoke in Greece. We booked for 2 nights and had a flight to catch in Athens after the second night. We were the only people as guests at that time. We requested to have at least coffee at 6 am that day, and were told it is not possible:too early for them. We decided not to stay the second night and left for Athens. I would not stay there again and don't recommend it to my friends.

Review 74:Obviously , we liked the location: overlooking the see and the gorge and just 500 m to the Archaeological site. Room was a good size, quite dated though, it was probably a great hotel 30 years ago.

Review 75:That I'd booked to stay such a short time, this delightful hotel was a lucky find.

Review 76:Arrived late and hungry to tremendous hospitality, stayed in smart clean room with an awesome view, left early after a really good breakfast from a buffet.

Review 77:The shower was much smaller than the shower curtain which meant water went all over the bathroom floor. Shower was cold first thing in the morning.

Review 78:Room was good. Hotel in a great location with a fantastic view

Review 79:We felt unable to use the lounge due to the strong smell of cigarette smoke from the owner.

Review 80:Excellent position with fantastic views to the sea. Definitely worth requesting a room with a sea view. The room was comfortable, breakfast was fine but simple. Delphi museum and historical sites were within easy walking distance. The owner and his family were friendly and welcoming.

Review 81:poor breakfasts, sadly common in Greece. Awful coffee and juice... with oranges everywhere I cant understand why. Although I booked months ahead for 3 nights, we had to move rooms [admitedly to better rooms] after 1 night which was a hassle.

Review 82:Wonderful view from many of the bedrooms, some of which has small balconies. staff pleasant and helpful but several had minimal or no english.

Review 83:The owners were lovely, very accommodating, helped us with arranging taxis and even offering special homemade cakes. Exquisite views of the water.

Review 84:I did not like the fact that the room advertised was not the one wechecked in. The room we checked in was at the basement of the hotel andwas not comfortable at all. The tv was a relic and the fridge wasterrible. The sound isolation was really bad since we could heareverything and the bathroom's window was facing the corridor outsidethe room. On top of that, the morning when I had to use the bathroom, the floor was flooded with water. It seems that there was a plummingproblem that the staff failed to notice. The lightning was dim and thebeds were small and uncomfortable. The staff made us change roomsbecause they did not want us to give a bad rating, due to the fact thatthe room we checked in was terrible. I have been travelling all my lifeand this was a first time that I was asked by the staff to change rooms. The new room was next to the reception desk and it was as advertised. However, the sound isolation was terrible and the tv and fridge were tooold and did not work properly. Overall uncomfortable beds and prettypoor condition. Finally, I would like to point out my disappointment forthe people and the services provided in the area of Delphi. Apart fromthe Historical Monuments in that area, which is an isolated village withfew things to do. The prices are too high with no reason at all. I wouldlike to remind you that currently Greece is going through an EconomicalCrisis and the average salary is about 500 euros. Therefore, charging aterrible room at 60 euros (with a lousy breakfast) is preposterous. Also, every cafe and every mini market had remarkably high prices. In my25 years of age I have never before paid for a Souvlaki Pita 2.8 euros(the average price is 1.7 euros in Athens). I would like to warn myfellow domestic and foreign visitors about the local people'stendency to over-charge everything. It is really disappointing toexperience this kind of price fixing at this time in Greece.

Review 85:The view from the balcony of the second room. The visit to theHistorical Monuments at Delphi. Heating in the room was really nice.

Review 86:The breakfast was great and the views from the room, excellent. Location is also perfect, the ruins and the museum are within walking distance. On the whole, a very good hotel.

Review 87:Parking could be a problem., street parking only and roads very narrow,

Review 88:The location, and the views were fantastic, everything was very very clean, and staff very helpful.

Review 89:We booked very last min (10mins) so they didn't we were coming.... That said they took great care of us. Mic, the owner was wonderful. Recommended a good dinner location and told us the best time to visit the sights.

Review 90:The bed was very hard and uncomfortable , needs to have some softer topper!!

Review 91:The hotel has the most amazing view over the entire valley, and large comfortable rooms. The balcony was large enough for a table and chairs which made it easy to stay out and see the sunset. The owner of the hotel was WONDERFUL, I had left my Kindle reader and a dress in the room when we checked out and he went to the archeological site and the museum looking for us to return it but didn't find us. Next day when I called he agreed to send my things to Athens by the regional bus, so I could pick them up in Athens. So he had to package them up, go to the bus station, and pay 5 euros to do this, and for someone who had stayed only one night in his hotel. He's truly a representative of the best of Greek hospitality !!

Review 92:Unable to park near the hotel on the day we arrived. Difficulty communicating with staff due to our lack of Greek.

Review 93:Position. Balcony. Fantastic view. Well appointed room. Good service. Reasonable breakfast.

Review 94:shower head was not the best, but ok for the price.

Review 95:breakfast buffet was really good, lots of variety. location was magnificent with views over mountains, private balcony. owners very friendly. rooms clean n quite spacious. restaraunt elatos a couple of doors up was also great for dinner, wonderful panoramic view of corinthian gulf from balcony.

Review 96:The room was excellent, large, and with an extraordinary view and a balcoly. It was very clean, and quite at night. The personal was friendly and helpful

Review 97:Breakfast is downstairs in a room without windows which is not really a nice atmosphere to eat. WiFi works only in the lobby.

Review 98:Beautiful view from the balcony over the valley!

Review 99:Nothing!

Review 100:Fantastic location with beautiful views from the back rooms. Quiet and peaceful. Staff are helpful and friendly. Extremely good value for money, comfortable, and well-located hotel. Would highly recommend, having enjoyed a wonderful stay there myself.

Review 101:The hotel is further from the ancient site and the bus stop than many of the hotels, although worth the walk for the view.

Review 102:Clean, friendly proprietor and the room was spacious and clean. The best thing was the generous balcony, with a table and chairs and a wonderful view of the Gulf of Corinth. The breakfast was plentiful and fine, although not particularly tasty.

Review 103:The view from the rear rooms is spectacular and well worth the small premium. Nice breakfast and a nice, clean, and fairly large room. The family running the hotel are eager to make your stay a pleasure and have great pride in their country and town.

Review 104:Weak fridge.

Review 105:Encanting views, friendlu staff and possibility of free parking close to hotel.

Review 106:Although the bathroom was reasonably clean, I would prefer a somewhat cleaner bathroom

Review 107:Easy walk to arqueological site

Review 108:location is great. it is very the historical site and right in the middle of town.

Review 109:Comfortable room, friendly reception with an excellent recommendation for dinner. Ideally situated for exploring the ruins on foot.

Review 110:Wonderful service from supremely helpful, friendly, and considerate staff. Great location, wonderful views, excellent facilities.

Review 111:The heater didn't work well.

Review 112:We travel in three and got a room for four. It was great.

Review 113:Everything was perfect - the view from the room was phenomenal.

Review 114:Level of maintenance of the furniture

Review 115:excellent location in the middle of the village but very quiet room

Review 116:The location is superb, on the end closer to the bay. Room is quiet and clean, with perfect view in the balcony. Loved the stay there.
