Reviews for Romantik Hotel Villa Pagoda
Review 1:We were charged for a baby cot Euro25. It should be free for the price and quality we got. The baby cot was torn at the zip area and it was just roughly tied to patch it together. Baby could fall out.
Review 2:The Villa is regal and truly unique. We loved the interior and building.
Review 3:The only downside was Wi-Fi... It was good in common areas but not existing in the room. We were told however that there was an issue with the server, so may be it was an unlucky fiwi day :) but we had great time and I would recommend that place to any body.
Review 4:We rented a room for 2 days after our wedding. The room, breakfast and the service were amazing!
Review 5:There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. If you want a cup of something hot you have to pay extra for it. Considering how expensive it is to stay here in the first place, I think thats a bit on the mean side.
Review 6:We loved the pool. I know people have mentioned already about it being on the small side, if you want to do lengths or train for a gala it's going to come as a let down. If you want to just cool down and have a mess around, it's ideal.
Review 7:The bed was a bit hard and the morning coffee was not great. But these things are minor.
Review 8:This place is indeed super romantic. There is a very special tranquility surounding the whole place. Close to the beautiful Nervi beach walk and a great restaurant.
Review 9:Romantik Villa Pagoda is a fantastic hotel. Closed to the promenade closed to the sea. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and has excellent breakfast.
Review 10:The location is so far from any action it coasts 50 Euro to get down to Santa Margherita! Old place , poorly renovated , we were misguided by the pics on your site , you need to re check again before any one else falls for it ..
Review 11:nothing
Review 12:There was something wrong with the airconditioning in the room, it made too much noice.
Review 13:Very nice place, beautiful surroundings. Nice to walk along the coastline. Everything was very nice and made our stay enjoyable. We would definately reccommend this hotel to our friends.
Review 14:Dull atmosphere. Not all went as smooth as you may expect. Some personell and services not up to standard.
Review 15:Beautiful and spacious building and room with lots of character. Diner was good.
Review 16:Breakfast does not comply with with standards elswhere, especially the bread selection was poor. (Bake-off) Too small pool
Review 17:Excellent staff, quiet hotel, feeling of luxus.
Review 18:The staff were friendly, the location is excellent, pretty garden, beautiful room, nice but small pool, just on the edge of Genoa with good access to the east coast of Italy yet only 10 minutes drive to Genoa central
Review 19:Beautiful location right on the sea front. Pool fab. The hotel is very elegant but not stuffy. Beautiful marble floor in the main salon. All the staff were very helpful. Rooms not huge but very comfortable. Air con great.
Review 20:I cannot find anything I did not like.
Review 21:We liked the hotel, friendliness of the staff, rooms and cleanliness. We were with a group of friends from various parts of the world attending a wedding and had a wonderful time.
Review 22:Other than the sea walk and several museums, there is not a lot to do in Nervi itself, but it is close to Genoa and other little towns nearby.
Review 23:Access to the lovely sea walk "Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi" was right behind the hotel. Friendly staff. We had a great room with a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean.
Review 24:beds were uncomfortable breakfast was fair needs an upgrade- seemed very dated not great value for what we paid
Review 25:location to Genoa was good staff was helpful
Review 26:The staff were amazing - friendly, helpful and multti-lingual. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was good choice of continental - cooked breakfast avilble after 9.00, but chef not there on Mondays. Also (for general info) all museums etc are shut on Mondays. The location and views were stunning - although, beware, the train track is very close. Air con in rooms was very good, if somewhat noisy. Easy access to the town and station. Rail travel in Italy is much cheaper than the UK - for info, you buy local tickets at the paper shops at the stations, not the ticket offices! We would happily go there again :)
Review 27:railway station noise, too small city (it is better to have a car to travel around), wifi working only from time to time. All in all, I think it is a great hotel if you have to go to Genova but do not want to stay in this dirt and noise (I mean Genova itself)
Review 28:The building itself is beautiful, calm and relaxing atmosphere, dinner in the hotel (pasta with pesto!!), lovely people who work there
Review 29:It was advertised as having WiFi in all parts of the hotel, but it did not work in a lot of areas (including my room)
Review 30:Beautiful hotel with lovely architechture
Review 31:Free Wifi works but the internet connection is slow. The passing train came as a shock the first time but we got used to it and it gave the opportunity to visit Genova by train, which was very convenient.
Review 32:The location, the room, the view, the food ... fantastic
Review 33:There was something weird going on with the air-conditioning in our room and sometimes it got pretty hot.
Review 34:Friendly stuff, spacious room and good bathroom, good breakfast, location close to the Anita Garibaldi promenade which had some restaurants and nice see views.
Review 35:Very pleasant hotel with a lovely garden. We had a very short stay but everything was pleasant.
Review 36:Breakfast
Review 37:The position
Review 38:Amazing people. Amazing place.
Review 39:Internet and noise from trains were unbearable
Review 40:Nice facilities
Review 41:Phenomenal location. Hotel also really private, and very relaxing, with amazing sea views and amenities quite close. Nervi is a treasure.
Review 42:Not much space to rest around the outdoor swimming pool.
Review 43:Beautiful see view and excellent restaurant.
Review 44:The hotel could use some fresh paint and bath rooms
Review 45:Fantastic location Extremely friendly staff
Review 46:Nearby beaches not good access, and swimming from rocks
Review 47:Staff, cleanliness & facilities
Review 48:Very relaxing place. Lovely old villa.
Review 49:small bar, no atmosphere despite surroundings, very expensive.
Review 50:Striking building with impressive public rooms
Review 51:No beach nearby
Review 52:The building The garden The breakfast
Review 53:Lack of sunbeds and lack of space around the pool.
Review 54:Friendly staff; excellent breakfast; good location; clean, good-sized bedroom with balcony.
Review 55:Breakfast is a bit short of quality...
Review 56:Everything but the breakfast...
Review 57:Same menu in restaurant every night.Lack of comfortable seating in garden to sunbathe
Review 58:Beautiful 200yr old building,very nicely furnished.Private garden.Close to sea,with sea views
Review 59:We wanted to stay out of Central Genoa as we required car parking. The Romantik is beautifully located with garden and distant sea views. It is right next to the Botanical gardens and is an easy 10 min walk to train station(although we could have driven into Genoa as it is a good drive along the coast with convenient parking at the port) The rooms are spacious and the entire building evokes a bygone age with everything beautifully maintained. We had a lovely stay, enjoying the promenade walk overlooking the sea, strolling the botanical gardens, it was perfect for us. Would highly reccommend
Review 60:The bed and pillows were like sleeping on a board. The restaurant was closed.
Review 61:The villa was beautiful. The staff friendly and helpful. Our room was large and lovely
Review 62:The house is very near by the sea, but surprisingly the train goes right between the house and the shore. Sleeping with open window is due to the train traffic rather noisy, so unfortunately you should close the window and turn on the air condition.that is the only issue on that house.
Review 63:The house is beautiful with classic elements, great garden. Rooms are spacious and view is gorgeous. Beds are comfortable. Bath is renovated and clean.
Review 64:The hotel is near the train station. It would not have bothered if we could have used the aircon, but the aircon was not working. I mentioned when we checked in a fan in a room, and when we started to enquire as to why we could not get the aircon working, it made sense to me. The receptionist told us they will get a technision to inspect what is wrong, we never saw him though as we went our for dinner. But, I doubt it if he ever come - why would you in anyway have a standing fan in a room with aircon? Don't make sense to me, unless you know the aircon is not working. And why rent out a room for quite a lot of money if you know the aircon is not working. We travelled for 3 weeks is Italy and France, and paid the most money for this room but received the worst service.
Review 65:The fact that the Hotel is near the beach and the Garabaldi walkway. It is a spacy and nice room.
Review 66:Train line and building site between the room and beach.
Review 67:Lovely hotel with comfortable and well presented rooms and facilities. Staff were very helpful and the setting was romantic.
Review 68:The pool was nice and clean, but too small.. maybe 5 m longer with more space for sunbathing at the pool? The menu in the restaurant needs more variation? More BBC TV-channels for not italian tourists The capacity of your WIFI is not big enough Air condition was not activated; advice needed for guests
Review 69:The room and toilet (102) The beautiful view The daily room cleaning The very kind helpfull Staff The surrunding garden The possibility of lending bathing towels WIFI (but too slow)
Review 70:I have always been a fan of the Romantik Group of hotels and so when I saw that the Pagoda was part of the group I didn't think twice about making a reservation. Wow was this a mistake! The hotel is sorely in need of a makeover. The furniture in our room had holes worn in the upholstery, the sheets had clean and washed mold stains on them. The front desk help were stern and unfriendly. They gave us no information about the hotel and town. We had to ask for any information we received and they acted as if we were putting them out by asking. We arrived after the normal check in time but our suite was not yet available. They said we could sit by the pool or wherever, but no one ever came and attended the bar so that we could have a drink while we waited, the radio in the seating area was so loud you couldn't hear each other talk. Dinner service was not much better, with long lags before receiving a menu and between courses--not fine dining lags either. The food was adequate. We reserved a suite with a balcony, that is not what we received and when I asked, I were told there were no availablesuites with balconies and no real apologies about the misrepresentation. Although the service, cleanliness and amenities were on the par of an Holiday Inn or Marriott in America--maybe--that is not why I always stayed at Romantik Hotels. I was expecting the hotel to be about service and moderate luxury, it was not. It is a terrible value for the price! Don't stay there.
Review 71:There was nothing that I did not like about the hotel.
Review 72:This is the second time that I have stayed at the hotel and the reason was its location and the staff who are very accommodating and helpful.
Review 73:There's nothing really wrong with the hotel but quite a lot of small problems. The main one is the train running day and night in the garden. Don't go there if you like sleeping with open windows. For a hotel of this standing the breakfast is really cheap. Not bad but could/should have product of better quality. Same things for our bathroom with a far too small shower and no bathtube. Not such a problem but strange for a hotel of this quality. Last but not least even though wifi is free, it's not available all accross the hotel due to weak signal.
Review 74:Despite easy access to many sites, there are not too many tourists in this area. The walk in front of the hotel is beautiful.
Review 75:that I didn't stay long enough!
Review 76:A lovely old Italian villa with a warm welcome and we could take our dog. The food was beautiful, as was the wine.
Review 77:The breakfast buffet in general offers a lot of choice. However, there were always the same two sorts of cheese every morning. We would have appreciated a bit more choice and/or variation.
Review 78:The staff of the Villa Pagoda is always friendly and welcoming. There is always a free parking lot right in front of the hotel. The Villa is a beautiful, majestic building, situated in a garden with palm trees and an orchestra of birds.
Review 79:Train railways next to the hotel - like in Cote d Azure/ France.
Review 80:Lovely hotel villa. Advice: Take the upgrade to the room with the big terrace facing the sea!!!
Review 81:It's a little off the beaten track, but right next to beautifulpromenade walk and Italian style beaches. It was not touristy.
Review 82:Seriously unhelpful staff. Don't dare swim in the pool before 10.00am or check out a minute after 11.00 or will feel the wrath!
Review 83:Very comfortable hotel with marvellous views. Make sure you ask for the access key to the seafront walkway
Review 84:The garden could use some grooming, and the breakfast was almost empty when we arrived 30 minutes before they ended. But I guess they would refill if we asked them...
Review 85:The Villa Pagoda is a beautiful hotel in a very nice area. The house is breathtaking and has a warm atmosphere. The room was nice, clean and spacious. The facilities on the hotel is many. We only tried the restaurant and we were impressed about the food. One of our best meals in our 3 weeks vacation in Italy. The staff is helpful, friendly and professional.
Review 86:The suite didn´t have the expected standard: on the terrace the umbrellawas lying on the ground for 24 h, no comfortable sunbeds, lightbulbsnext to the bed didn`t work and room service was scarce.
Review 87:Beautiful location
Review 88:Comfortable, lovely old hotel, very friendly staff. Very peaceful, garden access under railway line to the passeggiata Anita garibaldi Loved the swimming pool, small but adequate. A bit difficult to find a restaurant open on a tues evening,(the hotel one was shut) but was reccommended a restaurant called "cook" which was excellent, the chef, apparantly is a tv celebrity cook.
Review 89:The train nearby seemed to run through the room. Fortunately, it wasonly in the evening and starting again in the morning, so we slept well.We had hoped to listen to live piano music but there wasn't on Fridayevening. The restaurant was closed due to restauration but we didn'tknow when booking. The peanuts tasted a little old and one bedside lampdidn't work. But these were little details, and we loved the ambience asa whole very much, so we would come back!
Review 90:It is a very romantic and beautiful old villa, the room was large andalso cosy with nice drapery, the breakfast (except the coffee) was verygood and a big choice of tasty things (for example focaccia and salami)was offered on a pleasingly arranged buffet, sitting on tables withdrapery, too. In summer, one could enjoy a lovely garden withswimmingpool and sea view, surrounded by orange trees and camelliatrees. Although we arrived late, the night concierge served us a drinkin the lobby. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Review 91:In the facilities, the following exists: Solarium, Hiking, Massage, Tennis Court, Table Tennis, Outdoor Swimming Pool. I asked for the tennis courts and table tennis. There are no tennis courts in the hotel and no table tennis as well.
Review 92:Clean. Breakfast was good. nice location as the promanade is nearby.
Review 93:The hotel was very attractive and it's garden was beautiful. But at thistime of the year-January everything seemed a bit tired. The pillows weretoo flat! Even the spares in the wardrobe were not better.
Review 94:Wifi did not work in the rooms,
Review 95:The view and location
Review 96:Nice area beautiful villa
Review 97:Quality of the food
Review 98:Nice environment to have a good time
Review 99:Room was available late.
Review 100:Nice spot on The coast.
Review 101:Horrible "mixed fish" dinner platter.
Review 102:Beautiful building. Nice view.
Review 103:Dinner in restaurant very good but quite expensive with small portions.
Review 104:Very helpful staff. Lovely room with sea view, very clean.
Review 105:Weak wifi

Review 116:Fantastic garden and view. Friendly staff.
