Reviews for Hotel Brandauers Villen
Review 1:The shower was a little bit uncomfortable. I didn't like the interior design (stairs) of the new building.
Review 2:Excellent hotel : spacious rooms, excellent breakfast, fantastic position in Strobl, free parking, very good wifi, etc.
Review 3:We were there during a heat wave and there was no AC and no fans, which made our room incredibly hot. I would suggest having portable fans available for guests on these occasions.
Review 4:The location right on the lake is fantastic--the views are wonderful, and the private beach is very relaxing. It's only a short walk to the bus station.
Review 5:Our room windows were unable to be fully opened. It was extremely hot and we would have enjoyed getting nightly breezes to cool the room.
Review 6:I was traveling with my daughter and meeting up with a group of friends. We enjoyed the luxury of the outdoor dining opportunities and access to the St. Woflgansee. We arrived during a heat wave so the lake was a refreshing treat. I could walk to the hiking trail connecting to St. Gilgen with ease.
Review 7:The bed is small for this luxury suit. Mosquito net would be really useful. The minibar should have more stuff, like chocolate, nuts, or other juices, not just 2 bottle of water, beer, coke, wine. Some problems with cleaning: left the empty toilet paper roll in the bath; left the dirty glass on the table; they clean the upper side only of the table; one day forgot to refill the minibar; the ceiling have a lot of dusk; once forgot to make the bed. Some minor things only, but worth to mention. Just advice: the balcony should be seperated between the 2 suits.
Review 8:Perfect location, very kind stuff in the reception and in the restaurant. We were in the luxury suit, so we have perfect view to the lake and mountains. The space in this suit is more than enough for 3.
Review 9:Wifi is free in public area and useful but very weak in guest room.
Review 10:Very close to the lake and having a restaurant with delicious fish food and good atomosphere. We feel very relax during our stay.
Review 11:Nothing.
Review 12:Everything.
Review 13:Nothing. We are very satisfied. However the following should be kept in the mind: Breakfast was good but nothing special. Still friendly and efficient breakfast personnels makes up for it. And beware that wellness area opens from 15:00 or 17:00. I don't even remember the correct time because there is so much to do around this is not a big issue.
Review 14:Big, spacious and a very clean room situated on a perfect lakeside spot. Great wellness area. They offer free parking space for hotel guests in a pretty packed area. They also provide bath robe and towels for wellness and a backpack for hiking (nice touch!). We had a problem with the shower and they solved it within 30 minutes. Also receptionists can speak good English which is rare for this region. To summarize, it is one of those hotels you don't want to write a review and keep it to yourself :). Still no need to be selfish.
Review 15:Friendly personnel and most helpful. Immediate responses to queries. Room was spacious and comfortable. Internet was available in the room, fast and free. Restaurant was gourmet. Location of the hotel most convenient. Sufficient parking available from the hotel available
Review 16:There is, however, one big problem - and that's the room. On the plus side, it is big enough and well-appointed with separate toilet and bathroom. On the minus side: - there is no air conditioning and the room becomes unbearably hot during the day - there are no blinders of any kind, just thin curtains. The sun starts lighting the room profusely at 6 a.m., and it is not possible to sleep after that. - there are no insect nets on the windows. This means that, should you leave the window ope for some cool air, you are inviting legions of insects (e.g. mosquitoes) inhabiting the lake. - when we were there, both nights a local orchestra was playing extremely loud in some pub in the vicinity until 1 a.m. - last but not least, the local church is only 30 meters away. Some local genius has programmed its clock to chime the bells every 15 minutes once, and in their full glory every hour. For example, at 6 a.m. we counted 10 (TEN!) chimes. But this does not matter too much because you have already been awaken by the sunlight and the insects. In a few words, the hotel can make its rooms much better with a few simple additions, but they did not seem interested in this and they just shrugged their shoulders when we complained. A nice location -yes. A terrible lack of sleep - yes again. Value for money - no way!
Review 17:Now, let's get one thing straight. The place where this hotel is located is premium. It has a great private grass beach, nice sauna facilities, and a great restaurant. I found the staff also welcoming and willing to find solutions.
Review 18:... as too many newly refurbished rooms there's no effort made to makethe rooms practical. The curtains are too short, especially the one onthe window just above the bed, and we got woken up by the sun at 6 inthe morning. The bathroom have a window wall and worst of all, there's alight with a motion sensor next to the room entrance. Forget about goingto the toilet without waking up your partner.Well, we did want to keep it like that and asked for a solution. At 21h30 there was no-one left in the reception and the phone was connected to the restaurant, but no-one could come to help us. We had to go to the restaurant (in the other building...) and were given plasters to cover the sensor. When we discovered the built-in hair drier wasn't working. The reception told us their spare was already given to another guest and they told they would send someone to bring another drier. But actually they sent two cleaning ladies who started to check if there wasn't an electric fault. They started inspecting everything in the room while my wife was waiting with cold wet hair. A typical case of the staff trying to solve their problem, rather than ours. In the end my wife was asked to go dry her hair in another room. We are surprised by the too low availability of service for what is supposed to be a superior 4 star hotel. Note also that the rooms facing North are close to the main square where there are regularly concerts in the evenings.
Review 19:The location is great, just next to the lake with private direct accesswhile being in the centre of the village. It couldn't be better. Thebreakfast terrace with lake view is also very nice. The rooms in the newVilla are comfortable and modern, but...
Review 20:Nothing!
Review 21:Friendliness of staff, location. Breakfast was also very good
Review 22:I can't remember...
Review 23:The food - the chef is super! The lake - the Christmas atmosphere! The quiet of the place.
