Reviews for Iapetos Village
Review 1:Beautifully decorated hotel with clean and spacious rooms in the heart of Simi! Delicious breakfast with a different selection every day! Very friendly and helpful staff always there to answer any questions! Will definitely visit again!!
Review 2:The breakfast room is downstairs so if you want to dine outside then you have to carry your trays up & then return them to the basement when you've finished. Also, the A/C was very noisy.
Review 3:The location is perfect & the lush setting of the hotel is beautiful. The little quirky touches make all the difference. Everyone was very friendly, the pool very inviting. Would stay again & recommend for sure.
Review 4:A bit picky but we arrived at 9.30am and told to return at 1pm but room still not ready so asked to wait and got room at 1.30pm. They just didn't seem to be in a rush and couple have offered a complimentary drink while we waited. Also asked for a 1st floor room which we didn't get.
Review 5:Excellent collection service from ferry, ideal location and from what I saw, the best accomodation in symi. So clean, we had a ground floor room which meant that our terrace had little privacy from people walking by but the grounds are beautiful. Only negative was breakfast, downstairs in basement and by the time you collected a tray and went up to the pool area for breakfast your eggs may be cold! Pool freezing but plenty of loungers, stacked up for use. Would go again.
Review 6:The hotel was just lovely with wonderful staff who were really helpful and friendly. They made the stay wonderful. Good location, convenient to the harbour, beautiful surroundings and very relaxed. thank you
Review 7:The apartments might be cosier , they are required to be refurbished.
Review 8:Staff were excellent, the hotel was clean and tidy, breakfast was above expectations. The location is great.
Review 9:Need more hangers in th wardrobe plus a few hooks in the room - where do you put the lovely bathrobes you provide!
Review 10:Lovely gardens and the rooms were very spacious
Review 11:we were four pessengers and I couldnt slept well on furniture
Review 12:Very nice place. we could arrive everywhere easily. Very clean room and cleaners were very attentive.
Review 13:Wifi did not work in the room, requested twice for it to be fixed as I had urgent business to attend to, I was told it was a problem with Symi island, and that every hotel was the same. I found this to be a lie, as I moved hotels approx 200 meters away and the wifi worked perfectly. I also used wifi in a number of restaurants without problem. Despite no wifi as advertised, and a 50% late cancellation penalty on my confirmation, they charged my card 100%. These people are unhelpful and dishonest.
Review 14:Wi-fi, the early check-in we requested couldn't be arranged however the personnel was very helpful to help us.
Review 15:Location, room size, personnel's recommendations.
Review 16:Everything was fine.
Review 17:Nice hotel in a very pleasant garden. We loved having breakfast in the garden (the breakfast room is actually not so nice).Staff really kind.
Review 18:Absolutely loved our stay, we were on honeymoon and were looked after very well! Mike on the bar was brilliant as was Eugenia and the cleaning ladies. Also a mention to the guy that kept the gardens, they are beautiful! Location was fabulous and the decoration is wonderful, we will most definitely be returning.
Review 19:All great 5star hotels in any destination would really love being half as beautiful this hotel is! The hotel is a product of fine taste and hard work by the owners. Every single detail has been predicted and taken care in an excellent way. If you visit Symi you should certainly stay here! It is worth every single cent and much more! Don't miss it!
Review 20:It's a minor thing within an overall fabulous experience at the Iapetos Village but we found the pillows a bit too hard for comfort.
Review 21:We loved the layout of the hotel, the beautifully manicured gardens, how quiet it was in the evenings despite being only 2 minutes' walk from the bustling harbour, the outdoor pool and bar, the general loveliness of all of the staff, the amazing breakfasts with homemade breads & pastries, the bathrobes and the cleanliness of the very large bedrooms. Would definitely book again.
Review 22:There was nothing to dislike. Some people have said on reviews that the pool was cold. In our opinion this was not the case.
Review 23:The location, the staff, the room, and the breakfast.
Review 24:Room on ground floor (23) although a good size was quite dark , there was a table outside but it was on a walkway. would definitely choose a room with private balcony. We had a issue with noisy water pump on second to last night, the staff were so apologetic and moved us to another room....wow what a room , it was a family suite (room 13) thoroughly recommend .
Review 25:staff were excellent, welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was superb. Lovely setting very nice pool and outdoor area.Gardens were beautiful.
Review 26:Very quiet, clean, excellent breakfast, nice pool with bar, very close to the waterfront. Friendly, helpful staff. A great place all around for couples of all ages, and families with kids.
Review 27:I liked everything
Review 28:The Staff fantastic. The location 2 min work from Yalo the main port of Symi. The villiage iapetos has a beautiful landscape garden and a pool for relaxation after a day out in the hot Symi sun. The breakfast was delightful and 5 star quality the resort and everything with it 10/10 the owner Yianni has done a fantastic job as most of his design and work is found all over the garden as he has created a wanderland of creations . Oh Don't forget to lay down on the boat you will know what I mean when you arrive at the iapetos villiage.
Review 29:Not for couples looking for a romantic holiday. More family orientated especially due to children creating noise and generally running around. Music coming from the bar too loud some nights
Review 30:Rooms were spacious Short walk from port/main area Well kept Breakfast was good
Review 31:poor facilities like: cheap hairdryer, few sockets. breakfast time are awful (end at 1030 but at 10 you won't find anything. even on sunday, in summertime....please, at least 11!), the breakfast room is underground (not easy to come up and down with a tray) and smells bad.
Review 32:Location, quality of sleep, big room, AC, little balcony, mattress and pillows, desk for work. good breakfast, nice pool bar, beautiful gardens. I suggest to ask for a first floor room, and not near the pool (kids, breakfast, night 's concerts can trouble your rest)
Review 33:Loved everything about this hotel - from the staff, the service, the rooms (size, cleanliness), the hotel features (the landscaping is world class), the covered pool (which you will need in Symi in summer esp if you have kids), the breakfast, room service menu, night security - everything! I have travelled the world and can say this was one of the best hotels I've been to. I felt like I was at home - the staff were wonderful.
Review 34:Pillows too high - no choice Leaking shower Limited WiFi in room. Late live music on 1 evening would be okay but on 2 consecutive evenings was a bit over the top!
Review 35:Generally peaceful and very pretty with spacious accommodation. Excellent breakfast buffet with wonderful pastries. Amazing cacti!!
Review 36:Slow wi-fi - got disconnected every now and then. Quite cold pool, refreshing but the kids became "blue" quite soon. The breakfastbuffè had many empty plates just one hour after opening. When I asked if they would be refilled was the answer no = disapointed children when the pancakes were out. Expensive bar.
Review 37:Very cozy and clean 2 floor villas. Very quiet and nice. Amazing designed garden with small trearsures in it. The pool was under roof - good for the children. Felt luxary. Free pick-up. Free wi-fi. Breakfast included.
Review 38:Zilch!
Review 39:Located two minutes from a vibrant and beautiful harbour, this hotel could have not been more perfect. The covered pool area meant on the days of 40C the cold water was so refreshing. Also towels are free to use for both pool and beach - a brilliant idea. Plenty of hanging space too.... Breakfasts were excellent with a wide selection of goodies. The bar was lovely, with great staff always on duty. We will be back!

Review 51:Staff were so kind and the attention to detail is amazing! A very relaxing place.
Review 52:The water temperature in the pool was to cold, about 20C.
Review 53:That there was a pool and sunbeads
Review 54:Breakfast Garden Big room
Review 55:wifi very poor but it is the same with most of the island
Review 56:No steps to climb The only hotel with a pool Friendly staff
Review 57:wifi
Review 58:location
Review 59:nothing not to like
Review 60:gardens were beautiful, a very good breakfast , in centre of symi easy walk from port
Review 61:Iapetos Village is the most incredible Greek hotel we have stayed in. The staff are incredibly helpful and couldnt do enough for us from the minute we arrived to when we left. The place itself is in a great location and incredibly well presented. The gardens are spectacular and immaculately manicured. There are lots of wonderful touches around the place with quirky garden features that make the hotel feel special. We will be back sometime in the future!!
Review 62:We have a wonderful vacation! Everything was perfect. Pool was great and hole place was clean and shining. Are we going to Symi again, we are going to live in Iapetos Village.
Review 63:With some staff (reception) you had the feeling that you were disturbingthem when raising an issues (only greek tv channels available evenmentioned differently in the hotel guide)
Review 64:The houses and the environment (garden) was just marvelous, the majorityof the staff (Breakfast, Bar) have been very helpful and kind.
Review 65:Iapetos Village failed to meet us at the harbour, although we hademail confirmation that they would meet us off the evening boat.Fortunately we knew the way and walked, as the taxi rank is a long wayfrom the harbour.
Review 66:Well furnished and comfortable room for one night stay. Lovelybreakfast.
Review 67:Nothing special.
Review 68:Very nice and spacious and well maintained 2 floor apartments with everything you need (for families who like to serve themselves). Quiet surroundings and very nice backyard with bar and pool and sunbeds and coffe tables. Breakfast outdoors in the sun/shadow. Clean pool where the kids could take a swim while waiting for the parents to get ready for the beach or dinner, etc. Symi is a fantastic and peaceful island in sharp contrast to Rhodes, from where we traveled by ferry. Fun to go by taxi boat to the beaches (a bit expensive though – minimum 36€ per day for a family of 5). A bit stony and small beaches, but ideal for cooling down and for snorkeling in between the sun bathing.
Review 69:Amazing hotel in a very convenient location in Symi's port. The hotel has been build as a small village where all rooms lead to the main square which the common garden of the hotel. Very clean with spacious room and very friendly staff. From the first floor some of the rooms have views to the village but there is no view to the sea. This is not a problem because the hotel has lovely gardens and in general the environment is very calming. Highly recommended.
Review 70:The pool was freezing cold, there were no poolside towels available eventhough this was advertised and the 'sky tv' advertised was nottuned in to any channels.
Review 71:There was a huge breakfast choice, the staff were friendly, the roomswere very clean, shower was powerful and the surroundings werebeautiful. They even gave us a free bottle of wine to help us celebrateour honeymoon.
Review 72:Pool was chilly and not many sun loungers .Lack of info regarding happyhour etc.but would recommend this hotel .
Review 73:Kind staff, big rooms, extra sofa for sitting, beautiful grounds whichwere well looked after. Free sweets and ouzo in lobby ...wow andbeautiful breakfast . Not far to walk or too steep. Drop off at portwithout charge.
Review 74:Nothing to dislike at all.
Review 75:All of it - beautifully laid out, niver than the photos suggest. Very firendly and accomodating staff and in a lovelty location. Faultless.
Review 76:Breakfast buffet was awful. All breads and pastries were left uncovered/open to flies etc. All cooked/fried foods were stone cold, unless you waited until they bought it straight out from the kitchen.
Review 77:The rooms were excellent and very comfortable. I loved the high raftered ceilings in particular. A very short walk to Symi port, but a world away from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful gardens and nice pool.
Review 78:Small shower stall.
Review 79:A very beautifully designed and landscaped property. Helpful staff and a better the usual breakfast. Large, clean rooms. Good location fairly level to the waterfront and near the ferries but quiet area. Beautiful town.
Review 80:Not much to do in Symi. If you stay two night it's more than suffient. Sometimes the personell is a bit hard to communicate with.
Review 81:Good size of room. Great facilities Close to the Port. Flexibity with checking out (they didn't need the room yet)
Review 82:Fabulous.the staff is friendly and very helpful always trying to dotheir best so customers are satisfied.the pool is really a refreshingexperience during the very hot days.it is a frienfly and relaxingenviroment in the heart of the island.rooms and houses are very spatiousand everything is clean and shining.we hope to be able to go again.iwould definetely recommened for both families and couples
Review 83:Main reception - lacking in hospitality! It is very very overpriced for what you get. Air conditioning only in one area so even though there was space we all stayed in the one room to keep cool.
Review 84:The garden and layout very lovely. The bar staff very nice and the night reception. Nice to have a pool to soak in, especially when it was so hot. Good location and easy to reach everything by foot.
Review 85:It was a bit expensive.
Review 86:The grounds were beautifully well manicured and clean! The room was incredibly spacious! Breakfasts were great! The location was very convenient to the port of Symi. The best part was how wonderfully friendly and helpful all the staff was!
Review 87:When we arrive we had no cold water in the room, just hot water. Those thing could happen. But when you inform the reception it is appreciable to be taken in consideration. Due to full reservation we had to insist to have another room. We have been upgrated, but it would have been nice not to have to insist.otherwise perfect stay . No twin beds in double room. Only in " maisonnette"
Review 88:Location perfect. Amazing inside garden. Kindness of the staff. Very good beds. Excellent choice.
Review 89:Too noisey, room not very clean, pool dirty. Food was mediocre.
Review 90:Nothing! It was awful - changed hotels because it was so noisey. It was like we arrived in Benidorm.
Review 91:Loved the spacious modern accommodation and the access to a small swimming pool. Good variety of foods served at breakfast and friendly helpful staff that did not impose themselves on us. Relaxing small scale apartment complex just a short walk from the harbour. We would definintely stay at Iapetos again.
Review 92:What a beautiful place, the photos dont do it justice. We felt lucky tohave found such a lovely place to stay in symi. The gardens werebeautiful and the rooms superb. A short walk from the ferry but betterto phone them and they will collect you, especially if you have luggage. When you leave they will again supply transport free of charge.Breakfast is included and you have to go down to the restaurant andcollect what you want and take it up to the courtyard (weatherpermitting) which is really nice. The staff were really nice and as symiis so small you are really close to everything. Pool towels were alsosupplied which helps if you are island hopping. Cant wait to go back.
Review 93:A wonderful "litlle green village" in the city of Symi .
Review 94:Garden is beautifully designed, staff friendly and accommodating, location central
Review 95:Sofa bed very uncomfortable for an adult would be ok for a child.
Review 96:Position of hotel
Review 97:Friendly staff, very relaxed atmosphere, quiet but close to the harbour and village
Review 98:quiet, nice garden, bar
Review 99:Pillows too hard for me otherwise nothing adverse to report
Review 100:Very peaceful and very kind and helpful staff. Great facilities and good food.
Review 101:It is much better than on pictures. This is the best place to stay in Symi. We will definitely come back to Iapetos.
