Reviews for Hotel Niko

Review 1:Quite friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and food if you eat in their restaurant which is one of the best in Zadar. Spacious and very clean accommodation with many everyday small surprises in the room from the staff. All in all excellent stay!

Review 2:Nothing!

Review 3:Beautiful location and the friendliest staff ever! Everybody went out of their way to make us comfortable. The restaurant was top notch. We can't say enough about their hospitality. We were going to stay only 1 night but ended up staying 2 nights and we were glad we did.

Review 4:No dislikes, whatsoever.

Review 5:The staff was so kind and so accomodating! You will not find better hospitality, starting with the creative "towel sculptures" (our was a swans on the first night) with fresh fruit bowl in the room. Beautifully appointed food with quality furnishings. Wonderful breakfast where you can even order crepes!

Review 6:None - but lack of elevator could be an issue for some. Worth it for most though!

Review 7:Loved the furnishings, sense of place and restaurant! As we were self driving, we also appreciated the parking and ease of traffic into and out of Zadar.

Review 8:Nothing really.

Review 9:Location was perfect if you want to walk into Zadar or get a taxi its ideal. Parking available onsite. The hotel restaurant was wonderful the fish so amazing, the staff all so lovely.

Review 10:There is no lift, but the staff help with the luggage.

Review 11:Great hotel to visit Zadar. Very confortable rooms and kind staff. It has a fantastic restaurant too.

Review 12:AIRCON took a long while to come on. Finally did, after a couple of reminders & tech intervention.

Review 13:Very pretty property. Small but beautifully furnished. Great staff, including the owners family personally looking after the day to day operations.

Review 14:The three sisters who we met manging the property are clearly dedicated to pleasing the guests and delivering high value. Long term family owned business and it shows.

Review 15:The easy access by car means being far away from the historical center (approximately 4 km).

Review 16:It is easy to access by car. Looks much better from the inside, than from the outside. Classic style of furnitures, which I like. Staff was very friendly, and for the first time on our trip we were helped to bring our suitcases to our room.

Review 17:One needs to take a bus to get to the centre(, but cant have both beach and central location in Zadar)

Review 18:Wonderfull interrior and bed, and staff and service. Right by the sea and beach (rocky)

Review 19:Great location. The commitment to hygiene was immediately apparent. Breakfast is quite good and both the restaurant and hotel have friendly staff. The walk along the coastline is really quite nice - makes for good jogging too.

Review 20:The staff were utterly delightful from the moment we arrived until the moment we departed. The hotel was very comfortable, and the restaurant first class. The whole family would like to return for another stay.

Review 21:Respect to the owner of this hotel. Stuff is well trained. All our needs were satisfied immediately. Nice room, very good breakfasts with champagne. We will return to this beautiful place for sure!

Review 22:Family run hotel with personal touch. Staff treated well and that reflected on how they gave great service Location 60 steps from the beach with your own sun beds was great too.

Review 23:Their fish restaurant is pricey compared to other Mediterranean destination restaurants; also no lift in the hotel

Review 24:The hotel invested heavily in the rooms which were very upmarket, the staff was super-helpful

Review 25:In all my years of travelling, business or holiday, (+ 35 years) I have never experienced such a kind, friendly and professional staff like the one at Niko. Absolutely outstanding. And it goes for all the people we were in contact with at this place.

Review 26:The hotel was excellent! The staff was outstanding! The food is amazing! They have the best restaurant in Zadar. We will definitely recommend it to all our family and friends and we will stay again.

Review 27:Nothing

Review 28:We stopped here on the way down from Lake Bled to Hvar. This was a lovely small hotel with really large rooms, clean , comfortable and very luxurious. We had tea and coffee making in our room also a bowl of sweets. We had a spare bed in the room. Even though we had a room on the side of the hotel we could still see the sea. Breakfast was really good, lots of fresh fruit, meats, cheese, and breads, and we were offered freshly cooked eggs. This was in a nice area of Zadar. The staff here were extremely helpful and of course spoke great English

Review 29:The genuine friendliness of the staff : not the type of "friendly service" that staff are taught on a training course, but a genuine wish to make the guests stay as comfortable & enjoyable as possible

Review 30:We had no complaints but an outside area to have a drink or just to sit would be nice. On the other hand most rooms had a nice terrace with table and chsirs

Review 31:Excellent service and efficient and friendly staff. Good restaurant

Review 32:Tiny flaws -- smoking permitted in the restaurant but the staff took care to seat me near an open window; no English news channel.

Review 33:This hotel is very close to perfect. Besides lovely rooms with large balcony, location on the beach, and excellent restaurant, the owners and staff are take care of their guests like special family. Very charming and warm and glad to chat. WIFI and parking were great. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit, eggs and bacon made to order, endless espressos, lovely breads, and my preferences remembered. The restaurant, with windows overlooking the sea, is one of the top restaurants in Zadar, with fresh seafood very well prepared and very attentive service and helpful suggestions. Everything is made in-house including a variety of desserts. Small extras such as a bowl of fresh fruit in the room, and a parting gift of maraschino cherry liqueur.

Review 34:Not crazy about the cigarette smoke and smell at night emanating from the dining room. The huge windows were slid open, but it was uncomfortable for someone no longer accustomed to diners smoking nearby.

Review 35:We loved the amazing reception staff (Maja & Erika). Friendly and very helpful. Our room was very, very nice. Super bed, great bathroom. The amenities were exactly as promised and everything worked great. Easy to catch the bus for a short ride to the "Old City" and the beach is directly across the street from Hotel Niko. (Lovely for a swim after a hot day playing tourist, and lovely for a quiet stroll after dinner.) Breakfast came with our room and was excellent. Nice neighborhood with several other dining options. We ate dinner at the hotel each night. Our meals were excellent, and Joseph was particularly friendly and helpful.

Review 36:Friendliness and dedication of the staff. Great room with balcony, 5 meters from the adriatic. A nice walk to the city center. Very good food in the restaurant..... Inside information for visitant the area (Pag,....) in fact we extended our stay since it was so enjoyable!

Review 37:While I been traveling european countries, staffs in Hotel Niko in Zadar were the best. Super freindly and nice. They know what customer needs. Also breakfast was amazing.

Review 38:Smell of smoke in the room, one of the closet doors is broken. Our room is the last room in the building, so even if we had a balcony, we can't really see much of the water.

Review 39:Friendly staff, comfortable beds, welcome fruits and chocolates in the room, and generous breakfast with view of the water.

Review 40:I would only alert you about two minor things: you can walk to historic Zadar from here (40 minutes) or take a cab or bus, but you will not be in the historic center. I do not know if smoking is allowed in closed spaces in Croatia, but people smoked in the restaurant, including the hotel owner, and that inconvenienced me a bit, but the restaurant is quite spacious.

Review 41:This hotel gives you a warm and welcoming feeling that luxury hotels elsewhere cannot. The staff are excellent and do take good care of their guests. Our requests were promptly and correctly met. The food and service at the restaurant were excellent. I have absolutely no negative points.

Review 42:The location was fabulous and the staff treated us like royalty. They have a restaruant which was the absolute BEST food I ate while in Croatia-everything about the Hotel Nilko was amazing-it totally exceeded our expectations and was the hightlight of our stay-great B&B atmoshphere with 5 star amazing restaurant- a must for any traveler

Review 43:Parking is free but very tight spaces.

Review 44:Besides being very accommodating, the Niko is within easy walking distance from the old part of town. The food was very good.

Review 45:Hotel is quite a way from old town of Zadar but good bus link or a long walk Restaurant menu needs a bit of a make over not interesting enough to make you want to eat there very often

Review 46:Old style hotel with excellent facilities friendly helpful staff and pleasant location on the sea front

Review 47:No lift. Important to know in advance. Swimming is hardly possible owing to the slippery and sharp rocks under water. A serious disadvantage. Too far from the old town. Almost an hour's walk.

Review 48:Friendliness and helpful service.

Review 49:Staff very good, everything ready when we arrived with help getting the luggage up. Staff helpful in every way. Beach across form hotel (pebbles) very clean.

Review 50:What not to like!!

Review 51:Everything. Great staff. Wonderful room with impressive balcony view. Excellent restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Parking easily available. Staff very helpful

Review 52:Location not suitable for a short visit to explore Zadar

Review 53:Very nice rooms Great restaurant with lots of locals eating there Very friendly and efficient staff 25m to sea and swimming

Review 54:Only small gripe was the air conditioning wasn't quite cool enough, but this certainly wouldn't put us off coming again.

Review 55:We loved pretty much everything! Lovely comfortable large room with balcony, complimentary fruits, great service, very knowledgeable, helpful staff, and the restaurant was amazing!

Review 56:Though when you drive up to the hotel the outside looks a little old, the inside was a nice surprise! Breakfast had a large selection and was very good. The room had antiques in it which added to the ambiance and everything was clean. With no elevator, staff take your bags to your room for you. Though the town centre is about 1/2 hr walk you can walk a short ways and take a small boat over to the peninsula where the old town is. We drove over the next day and had a look around. Parking was easy at the hotel and in the old town!

Review 57:a bit far from the old town by foot (45 minutes) the interior design of the hotel is old fashioned

Review 58:very clean, quiet and confortable room with a balcony and view to the see and the old town of Zadar

Review 59:Large and clean rooms. Very nice and friendly staff. Very good restaurant. Zadar downtown immediately accessible by bus. Pebble beach in front of the hotel. Perfect stay for a family.

Review 60:The distance and journey to Zadar was not ideal in the heat of the day.

Review 61:The restaurant in the hotel. Some of the best sea food and best service we had experienced.

Review 62:The staff are brilliant and the food delicious! The restaurant is one of the best fish restaurants in Croatia. Loved the breakfasts and the location by the beach was great. Lovely meat restaurant nearby too.

Review 63:Location across the street from beach with towels and beach chairs available for guest. Excellent very clean,a/c room. Breakfast buffet included choice of eggs or crepes plus normal buffet food. Additionally the restaurant served amazing seafood for dinner

Review 64:You have to take a bus or taxi to get to Town

Review 65:Super friendly and helpfull staff! Amazing breakfast Beautyful room Tip: book excursions with the reception, they don't take a commission and are glad to help

Review 66:We had only booked for 1 night, wish we had booked more

Review 67:Staff were kind and very friendly with excellent English, facilities were great, wifi excellent, restaurant excellent, breakfast may I say excellent and the owner was very friendly all in all a great place and would not hesitate to highly recommend to anyone.

Review 68:Didn't bother us, but no elevators, in case anyone needs them.

Review 69:Fantastic staff - first up, gave us a water view room instead of our reserved back room. Room was very spacious, clean with a great bathroom. A small balcony was perfect for sitting out and watching the sea in the evening. We had room service in the evening and it the food was terrific. Again, the staff was extremely accommodating. The beach is across the street, and although small, perfect relaxation for us. The place was really faultless. Quiet, great beds, nice breakfast, short taxi drive to Old Zadar city. Really nice find.

Review 70:Nothing to complain about! No lift but we managed easily and the staff did offer to help. Breakfast buffet lacked some good muesli without chocolate

Review 71:Lovely spacious room, friendly helpful staff. Great location on the little beach. Good walk around 4-5 km into the old town, great to do once then catch a cab! Very good dinner i n the restaurant- lovely seafood. good breakfast especially the crepes!

Review 72:The entire hotel is beautifully finished in Venetian plaster but the carpets and bedding in our room were a little tired. Though we would have preferred to leave our windows open to the sea air, because we were situated above the kitchen and toward the back alley, the fish smells and the noise of the neighbors forced us to close them and use the air conditioning.

Review 73:While everyone at the hotel was clearly there to serve us, a few standouts need to be mentioned. Lori (breakfast waitress) was so very sweet and attentive and yet completely unobtrusive. Maja (reception) spoke excellent English and was invaluable in terms of reconditions on where to go, what to see and how to get there, and always inquired as to the results of her advice the next morning. The gentleman who took our bags up the stairs reappeared as our waiter later that evening - still smiling. Hotel Niko has a small staff happy to undertake any job that presents itself - not often seen these days and much appreciated by this traveler.

Review 74:My husband and I were upgraded to a lovely room on the water with 3 porches---we thoroughly enjoyed it! The staff member we dealt with was very helpful and friendly.

Review 75:A bit far from the city center, but hotel arranged a taxi.

Review 76:Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean, large and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent! The restaurant also serves some of the best seafood in Zadar! We enjoyed the quiet location right on the beach.

Review 77:No elevator but staff helped us with our luggage.
