Reviews for Amertha Bali Villas

Review 1:It was sad to see so much plastic and garbage in the water and on the beach. Yes, the staff cleaned it every day, but it was still in the water and ruined our snorkling plans. Some nasty jelly fish left us with painful stings when we tried to snorkel.

Review 2:Loved the staff! They were always friendly, helpful and lovely with our little daughter. We also loved the beautiful garden and surrounding of the villas. It was all very well maintained. And we enjoyed the pool at our villa which was clean and wonderfully private.

Review 3:Rooms closer to the main road are noisy, both from traffic and the local mosque. Bedroom has poor lighting and is very dark...difficult packing on the last day!

Review 4:Beautiful outdoor bathroom and the location on the beach can't be beat. The Bio Rocks are right out front with fabulous coral. Boat trips to Menjangan leave from the bay in front. Pools are beautifuland the restaurant has tables right on the water and good food.

Review 5:It's a bit near the road at the back, but no big problem.

Review 6:The houses, the comfort, the beach and most of all: the snorkling at the coral reef just in front of the resort!

Review 7:- Stayed at villa 15, right by the road so it was always noisy with traffic. - Right beside the mosque, so it was always noisy with loudspeakers even at untimely hours. - room was not cleaned at all for the 4 days we were there despite the housekeeping sign. Glasses for our welcome drink was placed outside and uncleared until the very last day! - floor was very very dirty when we first arrived, villa 15m (probably unoccupied for some time?). My partner had to wet a towel an clean the floor himself cos it was really too dirty. - room at night was very dim, too dim to do work or packing. - spa was cheap but they did not have a private area so it was done outdoors beside the pool/bar area with not much privacy.

Review 8:- restaurant staff was always prompt and friendly - cheap spa - beautiful night sky - staff clearing the beach grounds every morning - area was very well-maintained (can't say the same for the rooms though) with gardeners and sprinklers at work in the morning

Review 9:One of the female front desk managers was less than friendly – only time in Bali that we got a disdainful attitude. Though we had reserved a better room we were first taken to a lesser room and had to request the room grade we had reserved. The other woman front desk manager was much nicer.

Review 10:Lovely facility and with one exception the staff was very accommodating and friendly. You can snorkel right in front of the hotel!

Review 11:The mosquitos were very bad at night = hotel staff were made aware and promise to fix the situation. It's a shame they are letting more mosques in. This will spoil the peace and quiet. Call to prayer at the crack of dawn wasn't a pleasant way to wake up in the morning

Review 12:The view, pool, room was exceptional and a group or family could really enjoy all that Pemuteran has to offer.

Review 13:- Wifi rather slow - Breakfast could be a bit more - Not really "Bali feeling" (Mosque close by, long evening prayers...)

Review 14:- Great villas with semi-private pools - Nice hotel park - Amazing reef right in front of hotel - Very friendly staff

Review 15:The snorkelling trip to Menjagan island was a disappointment. Everyone goes to same spots at same time, so it is crowded, and the sea and the beach are strewn with plastic and other trash.

Review 16:Private pool by the ocean, lovely staff, good food, extremely affordable spa, great value for money all around. What's not to love?

Review 17:The restaurant is expensive. Also, our villa's kitchenette didn't include most of the cooking items we needed to prepare meals. After requesting them, some were provided. However, the pot (for cooking spaghetti) leaked.

Review 18:Our family rented a walled-in villa with a private pool for four nights. We would highly recommend Amertha to others! Highlights included: -Snorkeling directly in front of the hotel -Breakfasts on the beach -General setting of the villa -Mountain view

Review 19:On the negative side, the villa pool was so acidic it gave my little girls chest second degree burns and this was stressful for her and meant she and I couldn't go swimming for 3 days. It took them two days to equalise the PH which did not impress me either as when you're paying top dollar to have a villa pool you can't use it rubs you the wrong way. The manager offered me 2 free massages and medical help(equivalent 20 dollars) which was also poor. I didn't make a big fuss as I didn't want to get worked up around the kids but really shouldn't have to. In addition the villa they gave us on arrival was supposedly an upgrade as they gave our villa to someone else but the ocean view villahad no lounge area so it was impossible to sit as a family of 5 and watch tv. The restaurant food at the resort was average at best. There are though many lovely warungs a short walk away.

Review 20:The village is an authentic fishing village. We were there in January and on this side of the island there is a lot less rain. So the rainy season was not rainy except for two evenings which was great. The villas are very clean and comfortable. The outdoor showers lovely. The beach is black sand with lovely coral right outside the resort. Mejangan Island snorkelling was excellent. My husband and 14 yr old did a very good dive course. The staff were lovely. The rooms are cleaned everyday and little details are good. Eg: fresh flowers every day. Clean towels. Mosquito coils lighted every night.

Review 21:We ordered a southern comfort and we think the bar had been using an old southern comfort bottle to store arak. Unfortunately the staff were unfamiliar with southern comfort so didn't realise. As soon as we told them they had given us the wrong drink they changed it for us to something else. If it rained heavily there was a lot of rubbish on the beach but you get that everywhere in Bali. The Balinese special roasts (Chicken and Duck) are not crunchy like we would get in Australia, the exception to this being the Baba Guliing which is delicious.

Review 22:My partner and I work very long hours often away from home so we needed somewhere to relax, rejuvenate and spend time together. This was perfect. Quiet, private, polite staff and amazing snorkling at Menjangan Island. The spa is wonderful and so affordable you can go every day. Everything at the resort was reasonable meaning you didn't need to seek services outside the resort if you didn't want to. In saying this the Frangipani restaurant across the road is beautiful.

Review 23:nothing!

Review 24:Everything. We are totally in love with this place. Location, villas, food are great but people are even better! Beautiful, quite, clean place with wonderful accommodation. Dear Amertha, thank you for everything!

Review 25:We've been traveling around Bali for 3 weeks and living in many hotels around $100 per night and Amertha is really the best you could get for it. Nice place, spacious villa, private pool, beachfront, .. All what you need for quiet holiday

Review 26:The beach should be cleaner.

Review 27:If you want to have relaxing and quiet holiday this is the best place to be. It's beautiful place. The villa was spacious, clean and I like the private swimming pool. It has great food, fantastic and very kind staff.

Review 28:In 2 BR Villa. Lots of Mosquitos. Larger room and bed was 2 mattresses so had gap in center. Very uncomfortable. Smaller bed a bit hard. Wooden shower floor had broken boards, some water would not turn off. Restaurant food quite expensive and very average at best in quality. Best to eat out.

Review 29:Large land so rooms not too close. Well appointed rooms, interesting decor, quality finishing. Villa had private pool that was clean and large enough. Walled in so private and the burner, kettle and fridge were great to have.

Review 30:I can't fault Amerta Villas on this, but Pemuteran is very, very quiet. This place really needs a refresh.

Review 31:After sundown, this place looks fantastic. During the day though, it's clear that the resort is in desperate need of a refresh. Great place to stay when snorkeling/diving at Nusa Menjangan.

Review 32:The beach is not great for swimming due to the coral reef, which is fine as there are re-generating the reef system there, but it's a bit sore on the feet. Glass bottom boat trip is not too great, especially if one person is left in the boat when the other is snorkelling. We also didn't like leaving this place..its quite special.

Review 33:This place is beautiful, quiet and relaxing and everything you would imagine a place in the north of Bali would be like. It has great pools, great food and fantastic staff. The villas are very spacious and clean and we loved the outside shower. Fantastic snorkelling right on the doorstep too!

Review 34:Some aspects of the villas required updating / renovations

Review 35:Remote location (3-4 hours from airport); Snorkelling off the beach; Beautiful designed villas with LOTS of space :)

Review 36:The open badroom. The room tHat we stay was close to the road, and that is not good, the noise start at 5h30 in te morning and ends late! The room is big and they clean some. I whould not stay there again! The Beach is not very clean, they could use some if the staff that i saw doing nothing to clean the Beach area.

Review 37:Was close to the Beach.

Review 38:The beach could be so pleasant if it where clean...we know some trash comes from the sea everyday, but local people would also need education and help : it would be easy and cheep for hotels along the beach to install trash bins and ask tourists and locals to pick up some of it while taking their daily walks. We enjoyed the fishermen's village on the beach, it give a beautiful authenticity to the area, but again something has to be done for trash big issue! It is a matter of respect of people who live there and tourists who support the economy of this beautiful region.

Review 39:We had the chance to have a villa with sea view : bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen are very spacious and charming. Gardens are well maintained, the restaurant on the beach is simple and good, without music, only the sound of the waves, very relaxing! The spa is great too. Last but not least, the snorkeling along the beach and in the region is beautiful.

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:Our best hotel in Bali. Spa is wonderful. Restaurant in front of the sea. The best snorkeling point of the beach is just in front of the hotel. Team of the hotel is all the time very kind and professional

Review 42:Nothing !

Review 43:Semi-private swimming pool shared with another villa only Restaurant with an amazing sea view Good food Friendly staff Comfort and cleanness of the rooms Beautiful gardens Outside shower (!) Good snorkeling spot just in front of the hotel (corals and fishes)

Review 44:- Nothing!

Review 45:- Gorgeous surroundings, amazing villas with attention to detail - Well kept gardens - Great restaurant right on/by the beach - Fun excursions offered by the tour-desk - Privacy in the villas and private pools - Great outdoor showers - Lovely spa - Impeccable staff This really is a paradise-retreat to relax and enjoy yourself while feeling like a VIP.

Review 46:Wonderful location at the sea, coral reef right in front of the hotel. villa fabulous . We booked the 2 bedroom villa, 2 houses, with an open door kitchen in the middle, private pool, 2 canopees, 4 lounge beds, kitchen table , sofa / chair corner, fish pond in the open air bathrooms, beautiful large garden with fish pond and fountain. Staff extremely friendly as the Balinese are.

Review 47:The time and distance from airport

Review 48:Loved the villa, the pool , accessibility to snorkelling , restaurants etc. Staff were so helpful and friendly

Review 49:Space,peace and quiet, location, friendly staff. All perfect

Review 50:Location, spacious villa, great pool, great reef to snorkel

Review 51:Great location + staff. The semi-self contained nature of the villa complexes is also fantastic. Easy snorkelling right off the beach.

Review 52:Very quiet resort but close to facilities like restaurants, beach and reef for snorkelling.

Review 53:The seclusion and privacy of our Villa was lovely felt beautiful and luxurious :)

Review 54:Most staff are lovely, a minority of busboys are a little sharp

Review 55:Spacious villa, spacious grounds, immediate access to the reef

Review 56:Though it is free, the WiFi is not fast enough.

Review 57:Also visited several villa and cottage nearby. This is definitely the best one with no doubt!

Review 58:Suite(15a) next to very noisy mainroad

Review 59:Garden

Review 60:Don't forget to maintain your building.

Review 61:Space Pool Cats People Food Service North Bali no Traffic Jam

Review 62:Great location and perfect for catching some peace and tranquility. Room was spacious with private pool and comfy day bed. All staff super friendly.

Review 63:Bad wifi No nice bar on the beach

Review 64:Poolvilla with seaview was fantastic Fabulous snorkeling just in front of the hotel

Review 65:Comfort, service, location for activities

Review 66:Nihil

Review 67:Wonderfull setting of the resort into nature. Very big garden indeed. Cleaned and maintained every day . Outstanding . It looks more a Parc then just a garden . Very comfortable and big rooms . Either you have a private swimmingpool or you have to share it with max. 4 other bungalows. Depending on the type of room you booked. Very motivated and committed staff. Food is very good and for a very reasonable price setting. Very good Spa too.

Review 68:We put the do not disturb sign up and we had staff walking in and out completely disregarding the sign. We had to ask them to please respect the sign and things went better. Shower was never cleaned during our stay and there was broken glass, tons of dust and other things under the bed. DO NOT book a taxi through the hotel, they tried to charge us almost double the price on two separate occasions. We had to speak with the manager to rectify this.

Review 69:Really nice villa and staff was very nice. We had so much space and the garden was really lush. The laundry service was the cheapest of any hotel we stayed in and the service was great

Review 70:Not much nightlife so don't come here if you want to party - lovely for families, groups of friends or couples who want to relax though.

Review 71:Our favorite hotel in Bali (we stayed in five places in total, and this wasn't the most expensive of the five). Bit of a trek to get up to Pemuteran, but the area has a lovely beach and great snorkelling. The villas are gorgeous - we were travelling with another couple so booked into adjoining villas with our own private pool. Villas were beautiful and we were only a three minute walk to the beach too. Lots of thoughtful details like books included in the rooms and a well stocked minibar etc. Staff were friendly and helpful and the onsite spa was great and very reasonably priced.

Review 72:Thought the website let the place down.

Review 73:Dont let the website fool you, this place is amazing. We loved the ocean side location and our villa with pool. Be sure to snorkel the bio rock only 3 mins walk away. If you are into scuba diving, be sure to check out Macro Bali Dive Company next door.

Review 74:I love the quite atmosphere there with beautiful tropical garden. Very nice staff, very good villas with their private room. For all i will back surely.

Review 75:That there was one big snake by the garden and they should better inform the guests about the possibility of meeting them and how we should react to them. Many foreign guests are not used to have them in our homelands. Frogs in the wild gardens were funny and non-threatening.

Review 76:The private big villas with the swimming pools and the very polite staff.

Review 77:Mosquitos

Review 78:Setting, spacious, private pool nice and big, good beds,

Review 79:Pricey.

Review 80:Reef right off the beach!
