Reviews for Hotel Donat - All Inclusive
Review 1:Rooms are really outdated, and should be refurbished.
Review 2:The food is simple excellent for this type of hotel. There is always plenty of food to choose from. We did not eat pork or any meal that contains it, however we still managed to fill our plates with dozens of different types of food. There is always something tasty to choose from. The food variety is something that the hotel should keep up with. I would only add some more chocolate-based spreads (a nutella-like chocolate spread is definitely missing in the morning). The staff is generally very friendly and polite (receptionists, waiters, maintainance, maids). I have only had some argue with one young receptionist.
Review 3:Booked this hotel few months ago by reading the previous review and definitely happy with the place. Location is really good with shops and restaurant within few mins walk, the old town is also reachable with the local bus or tourist train which run quiet often and really cheap! Great location for who wants to relax by the pool or by the sea. A really good hotel for a 3 start and I would def come back.
Review 4:too many people, warm glasses at bar, drinks ordinary, too crowded at meal times, got single beds when asked for double, noisy, no lift,
Review 5:music trivia evening, shower and beach
Review 6:women toilets were dirty lots of time, and the floor in our room was not very clean. Drinks at the bar were not very delicious. And when there was a musicband till 23.15h, the bar (all-inclusive drinks) closed at 22.00h
Review 7:Location is perfect !! Personel very friendly, (reception, bar, restaurant, cleaning personel) Dobra Dan !
Review 8:It is about 45 minutes walk from Old Town, Zadar which is where you want to be.
Review 9:Nice breakfast, good value, room was everything I needed. Nice place to relax.
Review 10:Although the food was good and varied, the dining room reminded us of a school dining room and was very soulless. Consequently we did actually eat out quite a bit (although this was very reasonable, and the food everywhere top notch!) just for a change of scenery. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the hotel rooms and my friend and I being complete tea bags, struggled to get a decent cuppa anywhere - we suggest you take a travel kettle (although there are no fridges in the rooms either for milk!). Also depending on what part of the hotel you are staying in, the dining room may be in a different building and as the all inclusive drinks only start at 10.00am, you may have to schlep over to another building to get a drink first thing in the morning.
Review 11:The hotel and rooms were very clean, although looked a bit tired. We had a room with a small balcony which overlooked the sea. The staff were very helpful when approached and most spoke good English (as did most Croatian people we met). The food was good and varied (except for breakfast, but there was still a reasonable selection). You could use the facilities at the sister hotel, the Falkensteiner (about 500m walk away) for a charge and there were special offers in the spa every day. The included beer was perfectly drinkable and quite good, although the wine was not quite so good! Easy transport routes from the main road by bus to the City Centre (buy tickets in advance from tobacconists as it's a bit cheaper). One evening there was a wedding going on where the dining room is so we were asked to get lunch and dinner from the Falkensteiner. This was far superior (reminded me of the restaurants on cruise ships - so much amazing choice). So I would recommend staying there unless it is considerably dearer!! Although the Donat does certainly serve as a very accommodating cheap and cheerful.
Review 12:Dinner ends at 20 30, which is too early. Wi-Fi at £7 a day is pretty expensive, although good reception in your room. Only German channels or local on television
Review 13:Hotel Donat is a part of the complex of 3 hotels. All hotels are located by the sea in quiet area call Borik. There is frequent bus service [no 5 and 8 every 20 min] connecting resort with main station and old town and ride takes about 20 min. Almost every room got spacious balcony. 24h reception. Very good food and all inclusive deal includes wine, beer, coffee and sodas from 8 am to 10pm. From nearby port excurtions to krka and plitvice national park, they can pick you up from your hotel. good value for money at the beginning or at the end of the season. supermarket, nearest restaurant and bus stop are about 4 min walk away
Review 14:The room was too small, Not the best cleaning service, The beds were comfortable. Meal, not atractive. didnt eat any of the included meals.
Review 15:Locationm it was closed to everything I was looking for.
Review 16:Returning to wet liverpool but you can't have everything
Review 17:The hotel was well situated along the water front very relaxing clean and hassle free excellent weather 25 plus clean tidy hotel views from balconays excellent restaurant and food a1 no problems Old town only 5 mins away by taxi very interesting loads of bars/ cafés/ shops again no hassle lots of history if that's what you like plenty of excellent day trips will go again
Review 18:The food was good most of the time but some nights it was mainly fish or most breakfasts wasn't very appealing but most of the time it was good.
Review 19:Perfect 30 second walk to the crystal clear beach about an hour walk to the old town where you can find alot of tourist things.. I'm planning on coming back next year to hotel Donat
Review 20:The hotel is mainly catered for Germans. The reception staff where polite. As for everything else drab. The food was nothing to shout about and very repetitive. The all inclusive drinks where soft drinks wine or beer and stop at 10pm. The wine is undrinkable and have tasted better vingegar. We used the hotel down the road as there was more space and felt more clean and airy. It's not a place id visit again.
Review 21:Hotel quite old and wear out. Small rooms and mattress at the end. No minibar, Wi-Fi for cost. Suitable for short Holiday (3 nights).
Review 22:Nice view from balcony/beach and sea. Nice poolside bar. Free parking.
Review 23:Rooms could do with a face lift. EG. A coat of paint and the wooden floor creeked no matter where you stood on them. Very annoying.
Review 24:The selection of food was wonderful. Very friendly bar staff. Good atmosphere in the hotel. Very friendly staff at reception. Rooms cleaned every day.
Review 25:No complaints other than it is a bit dated and could do with a bit of modernisation.
Review 26:Location was good. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Selection and quality of food was very good. Staff were pleasant. Reception staff were excellent.
Review 27:Beach looks a bit wild, definitely not for children.
Review 28:Good and calm location Nice view to the sea Various and tasty food Perfect price-quality ratio Good condition of furniture and bath-equipment in the room
Review 29:You pay for internet and its very slow.
Review 30:In my opinion one of the best in Croatia. What an enriched holiday don't provided, thank you. Staff are friendly and helpful. I missed my lunch on a particular day and staff without asking provide d some fruits. Nice buffet all day. Good for you if you value nice fish in your food. I initially booked one day for a taste but added 4 more days
Review 31:The evening program, there are not enough seats. The drink selection is very poor, the food is not much better.
Review 32:The hotel is on the beach. There's lots of shady places. The balcony has a beautiful view of the sea.
Review 33:Room equipment seems to be excursion to 80's and early 90's (Furniture, small CRT TV, kitchenette), also lifts reveal the history era when the hotel was build staff a bit unpleasant
Review 34:Good location - beach ideal for small kids, "garden" of the hotel also great for bath "base" (shadows, sun spots). Animation program for kids
Review 35:Hotel could do with a revamp pretty dated
Review 36:The food is great better than the average all inclusive.
Review 37:Food would get very boring after more than a couple of days.
Review 38:Cheap and cheerful, great location!
Review 39:There was nothing not to like
Review 40:Excellent value for money. Clean and well run hotel.
Review 41:Location, very friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable.

Review 45:Everything
Review 46:Everything else. Old decor rooms, food quality.
Review 47:Late check-in
Review 48:Low cost wifi equipment mounted 10cm away from your head at sleeping bad?!
Review 49:Nostalgic ex YU mood. Food is ok.
Review 50:It needs some renewal. There were many food and beverage but was low quality
Review 51:You get exactly what you pay. Low price-Low quality Free beer.
Review 52:The food was not enjoyable
Review 53:Location was nice
Review 54:We love food, beach, nice staff and clean rooms
Review 55:Everything was disgusting and extreemly old. Cleenes was too weak. Nobody should go there it can not be a hotel even dormatory
Review 56:Nothing
Review 57:Not good beer . No local spirits included. The bar closed at 10pm
Review 58:Nice hotel great location
Review 59:Crowded swimming pool
Review 60:Proximity to water
Review 61:Location is a bit in the middle of now where- however it's a lovely walk by the coast to the old town. Also if you're just there to relax you don't necessarily need to leave the complex anyway.
Review 62:All inclusive meals were basic but adequate- soft drinks available from serve yourself machine - so you can just get one when you want and not have to queue/ask at bar. Reception staff very friendly and are there 24 hours a day
Review 63:staff can't speak English ants in my room repetitive boring food expensive wifi load music from wedding downstairs till 4 a.m. BEWARE Lulic rental and taxi services next door = scam and rip-off
Review 64:value for money cleanniness
Review 65:Facilities were very basic for a 3 star hotel Room was super basic very tacky buffet was very poor and all the food tasted the same No lift
Review 66:It had a swimming pool close to the beach not far from the city
Review 67:Hotel and staff at the hotel were awful. Bad food, low quality, badly maintained rooms. The staff never smiled. Hotel is an uninspiring throwback to the former communist years (when it was built)
Review 68:Zadar was nice, interesting, the sea beautiful and clean.
Review 69:Had to pay extra for wifi. No other property charged for wifi
Review 70:All inclusive ; we arrived early before room was ready, so they sent us to lunch. After lunch our room was available.
Review 71::)
Review 72:Nothing fancy. Only neatness, appropriate choice of food, closeness to the sea and incredibly nice, polite, thoughtful for guests staff. By the way it was my second stay at this hotel. My opinion has not changed.
Review 73:No activities in hotel, except a few evenings.
Review 74:Good food, although not much dessert choice. Activities offered in Falkensteiner Club Funimation next door. Excellent location.
Review 75:Meals were a bit repetitive. Could do with a toast machine at breakfast. Disappointed that spirits were not included in the all inclusive.
Review 76:Nice Pool, help yourself to beer, wine, soft drinks and coffee. Good location next to the sea and close to restaurants.
Review 77:very dull reception come only bar area(majority of lighting turnd off).poor a/in... drinks very poor choice one beer, red or white wine plus pop.all local spirits cash payment.Limited choices of meals, ie breakfast no toast ,bacon ,tomatoes fried egg, baked beans...but no toast at breakfast.!!.no snacks.,other meals ltd, choice.sweets poor.
Review 78:location.location,location,location,location,location,location,location,location,..ditto.
Review 79:There was basically nothing to do for the young adults. and the people who worked their were very rude and inconsiderate. There were ants in our rooms and all they did was give us a can of raid. Worse hotel i've been too.
Review 80:It was right on the water. The only good part
Review 81:noisy air conditioning, squeaky and not very comfy beds, smell of cigarettes, not very good soundproofing between rooms (and corridor aswell).
Review 82:close to sea, good food in all inclusive option, good location, good price
Review 83:I spent 6 days at Hotel Donat the last week of September and I am very satisfied. Near to the beach and good food and refreshments, not excellent but quite Ok. But remember that all kinds of drinks are not included. There were not lifts everywhere, so if you don’t want to use stairs you have to ask for a room, where you needn’t walk in stairs.
Review 84:Not the hotel's fault at all, but it's definitely not a place for solo travellers and young couples. I think 95% of guests were elderly couples or families with small children. What I actually hated was the beverages in the all-inclusive package. The beer is passable, but the wines are disgusting (tap wine), and the juices argh, awful. So in the end, you buy the all inclusive thinking "what a great deal, I'll have 'free' drinks by the pool all day", but no you won't unless you have absolutely no taste. And, there were about 10 channels on TV in Croatian and another 10 in German, 2 in English (CNN and BBC!) so it was pretty boring for me tv-wise. Although they say that here, I don't like the fact that internet is paid. 10 kunas for 15 minutes.
Review 85:The food is okay. Breakfast and dinner were pretty good. Lunch was fine. - But the coffee is never hot and that's annoying. The staff is friendly, that's really nice. It's very easy to reach the city center by bus, or by a lame "mini-train" that runs every hour. There are cash-points and supermarkets around, so pretty well-located. The beach is good for swimming.
Review 86:Room was very small and old, need renovation, we did not had warm water. From alcoholic drinks inclusive were only wine and beer. Is good for staying few days because food is good, but the same every day.
Review 87:The personal was friendly, good location excactly on the sea coast.
Review 88:Hotel could use an over all "fresh up". A bigger variation at the buffewould be nice, but good for the price.
Review 89:Good lokation at the sea. All inclusive. Good price.
Review 90:Staff were not so friendly.
Review 91:The location is great. it is close to sea and not far from city center. Cleaning is good. Instead of the poor breakfasts , dinners were great.
Review 92:There was no coffee or tea available in the restaurant for lunchesor dinner.
Review 93:It was a very economical holiday with great food and selection and lotsof space to relax. Loved the pool and the amount of space available tosit around it.Excellent proximity to town; excellent spot on the sea. They provided us with an early breakfast before we left.
Review 94:I was so far in at least 100 hotels and this hotel is in top 5 of worst hotel in my life
Review 95:The food was pretty good.
Review 96:The bar closing at 10pm even for soft drinks.
Review 97:Location was beautiful and the food was delicious and plentiful.
Review 98:Prijs/Kwaliteit
Review 99:The room standard was worn and the beds could have been more comfortable.
Review 100:Location and friendly atmosphere.
Review 101:The small pool, the quality of room furnitures.
Review 102:The close sea, the food in the restaurant.
Review 103:staff not very friendly and the reservation was wrong. they solved but it was uncomfortable
Review 104:reception staff
Review 105:everything with the exception of reception staff
Review 106:Ants in the room; and lots of 'em. There was mould in the bathroom as well!
Review 107:The Location was very nice combined with the all-in arrangement.
Review 108:alles

Review 110:Great food and Great vew
Review 111:Breakfast was poor. Self service bar was quite filthy. Very limited all inclusive.
Review 112:Nice fish dishes for dinner. Large room. Hotel is close to beach.
Review 113:we had to make the beds ourselves
Review 114:decent buffet food next to the beach
Review 115:Staff was not friendly nor helpful.
