Hotel Lavatoio is a converted wash house in Castel Di Sangro, in the heart of the Apennine Mountains. There is free Wi-Fi access and free parking.

Review 1：I arrived by bike and the hotel insisted that I bring my bike into the hotel and parked it next to the big stone wash tubs. They also recommended an excellent restaurant.

Review 4：I stayed there last weekend when a friend and I went to Castel di Sangro to visit my family. I could not have been more impressed from the moment we walked in the door. We were greeted warmly and treated as treasured guests throughout our stay. The rooms are spacious and clean and comfortable. The location is perfect. Breakfast was great and my friend enjoyed a drink at the bar. I will never stay anywhere else when I visit.

Review 5：The only minor downside was the situation next door to a church whose bells chimed 24/7. After first night we did not notice!!

Review 7：This picturesque hotel is located at the top of across from a beautiful old church. The staff (Ceco) was very helpful -- including showing us some great places to eat and visit in the parco nazionale. The hotel is well appointed, modern and clean. We paid only E65 for a nice double during shoulder season.

Review 8：Nothing bad but since the GPS tend to lead you through narrow street that a car cannot realy pass through, it can be a good idea to send in advance detailed instructions how to get to the hotel.

The hotel is adjusted for travellers who are willing to go for skiing. The most important that staff is very helpfull in any situation from advice to having good place for a dinner to a emergency situations. Castel di Sangro was my grandparents hometown and it was great to reconnect with relatives and do some genealogy work. Everyone at " Il Lavatoio" was most helpful, even finding us a restaurant that would let us take out pizza on a stormy night! The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast delicious!

Review 25：Beautiful hotel on the site of the ancient public laundry basins that have been lovingly restored, even preserving the basins as an archeological ruin. The hotel is located in the heart of the town across from the cathedral first built over 1000 years ago. The owners were friendly and helpful. The room was light, clean, airy, and lovely.

Review 26：We came in a rainy evening and were really really tired, the owner wasvery welcoming, showed us the room, recommended a restaurant and droveus there by himself! That really saved our night! He was great! Checkedbuses for us, if we wanted to visit places near by and everything. Ifhe recommends a restaurant for you, go there! Our stay there wasperfect. There was nothing wrong and the breakfast was good! We willreturn there!

Review 28：If you are a light sleeper, you might not like that the church bellsnext door ring throughout the day and night. They did not bother me, butrather added to the charm of the hotel. Getting there, be careful ifusing gps. We advise using it only to get to the town, and thenfollowing the hotel's directional signage to get there.

Review 29：This is a great hotel! It is a unique melding of old and new-- moderntouches blended beautifully with old world charm. The location is quiet,and the mountain views we had from our room were absolutelybreathtaking. The owner provided exceptional customer service for us,such as printing maps for us, advising us what to see, where to go fordinner and even calling ahead to see if the restaurant could accommodatea gluten free order and securing the reservation for us. It is easy towalk everywhere in the town from the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel wasimpressive, offering something for everyone, and more.

Review 30：The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our hire car broke down during our stay and the staff could not have done more to assist us, making numerous telephone calls on our behalf and transporting us to the bus station.

Review 31：There was no airco in the room (it was 38 degrees Celsius!), windows had to be open. Lots of street noise, people drinking next to our window. Not even a fan was offered. NO parking-space (even though it was stated that there was private parking!), you had to find a place somewhere in the streets. I am still searching for this 'big garden where you can relax' (we haven't seen one). The staff (old-man) was very unfriendly (even though I speak Italian), didn't say, explain of offer anything. This is a terrible place to be in the summer!

Review 37：The hotel itself is at once historic and modern. The room was very clean and had modern furniture and an upscale feel. The staff was super friendly- told us about the area, kept our key for us while we were gone, and even lent us an umbrella! Although we didn't have time to use them, there are also fun board games available for guests. Finally, the breakfast is abundant and divine. There is everything from eggs, ham, and cheese to 6 types of cakes and cookies. And, of course, they brew wonderfully coffee and cappuccino.

It has a stylish combination of historic renovation and modern decor, in a picturesque hilltop position.The owners are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is tasty and generous. We were visiting to ski at nearby Rocarasso; the hotel now runs a complimentary ski shuttle to and from the slopes which is great! I can't recommend this hotel enough - excellent value, comfortable and welcoming.
