Reviews for Iceland's Guesthouse

Review 1:The most beautiful Breakfast and views! also such warmth and kindness from hosts. You will never want to leave. I can't wait to go back and visit!

Review 2:Excellent Hosts, beautiful hinterland. Right next to a thermal spa, with lovely walks and provisions. The food is a must, it is with homemade recipies and fully nutritious

Review 3:Maria always supplied a huge choice at breakfast time, she was also kind enough to supply some natural plant based oil to help combat a sore shoulder. Her late night Facebook message to us enabled us to see the northern lights in all their glory!

Review 4:- Maria: the Guesthouse owner - location - check in procedure (1 hr check in window) I can only assume (hope!) we caught Maria on a bad day because I have never encountered anyone who made me feel so unwelcome, uncomfortable and eager to leave. Despite complying with house rules, we were made to feel like naughty school children for the duration of our stay. Sadly, we would definitely not recommend.

Review 5:spacious room.

Review 6:very responsive reception -- exceptional food - met dietary needs - sensitively considerate. Attends the needs of the guest --graciously. Beautiful surroundings - easy access to country walks. Very interesting house. Quiet. Much praise deserved.

Review 7:Only stayed for one night but felt like family.. I plan on returning to stay with them in the future. Their location is very close to the golden circle and only 1hour to the city of reykjavik.

Review 8:the comfort and design of the house, the large comfy beds, the bathtub in the backyard ( we saw the northern lights ). the sight of the warm river literally 30 meters from the house, the geysers besides the house... the owners were very friendly and advised us on things to do/ places to go for dinner in Hveragerði.

Review 9:It was a bit hard to find. Their sign was faded and not well marked.

Review 10:The small cabin we had was clean, compact, and very nice. Breakfast was really great.

Review 11:Nothing significant

Review 12:pleasant and helpful host Very clean rooms of ample size allowed us to take food away for lunch easy access to the south western corner of iceland

Review 13:A hidden gem in Hveragerdi ! We had a wonderful stay in this guesthouse. The room was perfect and the breakfast fantastic. The hosts were very nice and welcoming. The best place we stayed at in Iceland.

Review 14:Nothing at all

Review 15:A shame we only had one night. Very friendly owners who encouraged us to use the hot pot (tub) after a long drive in terrible conditions. Great idea and slept so well in a beautiful room. Breakfast the next day was excellent and the best we had all trip. English bread and butter pudding with skyr amongst other choices - i will be doing this at home now for Sunday brunch We will be recommending to friends and hope to return some day. Thank you

Review 16:The weather when we were staying there but that's Iceland for you!

Review 17:Really nice comfortable guesthouse looking over Hveragerði that is run by a lovely couple.

Review 18:Maria and Stephan were the perfect hosts! I didn't want to leave...breakfast was incredible, the beds soooo comfortable, the location beautiful and peaceful and we loved our big spacious room with windows overlooking the river. Loved it there!

Review 19:We were so thrilled when our host made several gluten free options for breakfast because I mentioned that my son could not eat gluten. What a delightful surprise! He could not stop eating! And it was all delicious!

Review 20:Could be a little tough to find but Maria was very helpful in giving us directions.

Review 21:The most amazing hosts - Stefan and Maria! Make you feel very comfortable and relaxed. The room was nice - spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was nice. Beautiful balcony with exquisite views of the landscape.

Review 22:Family room is excellent and sizable but no en-suite shower facility (need to go downstairs to a private shower)

Review 23:Breakfast is unbelievably good - all natural, homemade and very very tasty Location and views beautiful Incredibly gracious and warm hosts

Review 24:Everything! Guesthouse owners were very hospitable and welcoming! Beds were of high quality, and the family room, and bathroom were spacious. Breakfast was a smorgasbord of homemade jam, porridge, pancakes, bread and more....

Review 25:It took nearly an hour after we arrived before we found someone to let us in. No reply at the intercom, no reply to the phone number we had.

Review 26:The delicious breakfast.

Review 27:Very nice owners, great location of property, delicious breakfast and very good value. Included free access to adjacent local hot pot was a lovely bonus. Wish we had longer to explore the area

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:The owners Maria and Stefan were absolutely fabulous hosts. The property is very quite behind a security gate and next to a geothermal park. Breakfast was extra, but well worth the price. A highlight of our Ring Road Tour.

Review 30:- the warm, friendly, helpful owners Maria and Stefan - we got a cozy, stunning big room with big windows and view to the mountains - homemade breakfast, hot tub - the location is very good; located in Hveragerdi the guesthouse is close to Reykjadalur or fish restaurants in the villages on the coast, we did also Blue lagoon from here. - it's like staying at your relatives' place, but with privacy - we liked everything here

Review 31:WiFi was only accessible in the common rooms. Place was hard to locate initially although easy to find once you knew where it was.

Review 32:Breakfasts were the best on our whole trip!

Review 33:Would be good to have a neutral spot for self service coffee and tea. Recommend access info for security gate at drive be shared with guests more than 24hrs in advance of arrival.

Review 34:Great hot tub in secluded setting.

Review 35:The room was clean and comfortable and Stefan and Maria really made us feel welcome. The breakfast was wonderful. Overall, a great value. Highy recommended.

Review 36:Taking off my shoes. More my fault. This is not a custom in the U.S. ... but maybe it should be.

Review 37:Excellent location. WiFi worked just fine. Superb breakfast. Lot's of new stuff to try.

Review 38:Maria and Stefan went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel at home. We also enjoyed the hot tub and fab breakfasts, and quiet location above the town.

Review 39:The bedroom was big and full of natural light and relaxing views. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice and clean. The breakfast and dinners were homemade with fresh vegetables and healthy food all for a very reasonable price! There's a hot tub at the garden that you can use 24 hours. The hosts (Maria & Stefan) were outstanding. They gave us lots of facilities, tips and maps to move around Iceland. They were always available, nevertheless they gave us a lot of privacy. The house and the place itself has a very good energy that surprised the two of us.

Review 40:From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Our room was absolutely fantastic, each room has a name to promote peace and tranquillity within the house and this was evident from the pictures, ornaments and the low level lighting. The owner Maria left to go home with her daughter Irene and left us to do what we wanted, but not before showing us where the tea, coffee and biscuits were first. We had full use of the hot tub, but unfortunately after going out for something to eat were too tired to use it, but it did look nice and clean. Bedrooms were beautifully furnished to a very high standard and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was to die for. Freshly cooked porridge made to Maria's own recipe, it was gorgeous, pancakes, in fact everything you needed was there. Fruit juices, tea, coffee, herbal tea, there was such a choice. Maria was such a good host and has a wealth of information that she is willing to share with you and if she doesn't know it, she will find out for you. This guesthouse is a gem in Iceland and I would most definitely recommend that you give it a try and stay here if you want a nice peaceful and relaxing time with the owners who actually take the time to make you feel welcome
