Reviews for Nefeles
Review 1:They were extremely friendly and helpful. The mother treated me and my mom like family and made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was beyond fantastic, all homemade by the mother. Thank you so much!
Review 2:The location is spectacular; it is just outside of the heart of Arachova and overlooking the valley and a 10 min drive to Delphi. The staff extremely friendly and interactive.
Review 3:It's on the outskirts of town so it's difficult to be independent if you don't have a car - but the staff were very generous and made it as easy as possible for us.
Review 4:The view was absolutely amazing and the staff were so so helpful.
Review 5:Spectacular view, wonderful hosts, a delicious breakfast spread, and great recommendations. Panayoitas met us at a nearby hotel at midnight after we had just arrived from Athens with a poor GPS, and led us to his lovely guest house. The next morning Lena suggested after visiting Delphi, that we head to Galaxidia for an afternoon swim, which was exquisite. Such generous hosts! We would recommend this location to anyone. The little town of Arachova has a great selection of restaurants and shops also.
Review 6:Everything was good from the moment we arrived. The room was perfect, breakfast was really good. We were really impressed by owners hospitality. I would definitely recommend this place.
Review 7:Access road a little narrow but standard for this part of the world and you adjust easily.
Review 8:The outlook was great. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Place very comfortable and breakfast was excellent.
Review 9:The owners of the guest hoyse: Lena Panos and their son Andreas are the most hospitable persons you will ever meet! they are so kind and warm hearted people! the will spare no effort to make you feel at home. when you say FILOXENIA(=hospitality) you think of this lovely family! Location: overlooking the panoramic valley and mountains- 5 minutes by car to central ARACHOVA-and 10 min by car to nearby DELPHY. Rooms: well kept-spotless clean-airi-with mini fridge and a fire place and lots of fresh air with a view! Breakfast: a real treat of home made delicious pastries-marmelades- homemade cakes-fruits-biscuites-fresh bread and great Greek Coffee All served with a smile! Morning-afternoon-and evening! you will be sad when you have to say goodbye to this place and to this charming family memebers!
Review 10:The road to arrive is a bit uncomfortobale - not for our small car but for certain huger cars !
Review 11:Beautiful position and panorama, beautiful house and rooms, eccelent breakfast, nice and hearty couple of owners !
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:Great location between Arachova and Delphi, easy to find. Very nice view of the surrounding area. Family managed hotel, very warm service. Clean rooms. Good breakfast.
Review 14:We received a very warm welcome! We were presented with tea and applepie. The views from the hotel and our balcony were great. The location is not far from Delphi (about 8 km). It is a 15 minute walk to the center of the very pitoresk village. The breakfast is great, with many homemade pies, quiches and other treats. The famliy is very friendly and they do everything to make you feel at home. When we told that we were going to hike, they packed all kinds of delicious food for us.
Review 15:Lovely family run bed and breakfast. They could not have been more helpful giving us advice, nor more generous with breakfast and dinner which we had each night there as it was so good.
Review 16:The hosts are very friendly and warm. They welcomed us very nicely. Amazing rich homemade breakfast. It's a pity that we only stayed for one night. We will surely come back.
Review 17:The owner Andreas and his wife were so welcoming, friendly, and hospitable, and went to great lengths to make our stay enjoyable. Delicious home cooked and varied breakfast, we even got to try their home made wine, olives and olive oil, all these little extras made for a delightful stay. The view from our room and the rest of the hotel was amazing!! Andreas also gave us lots of information about the area, which was really useful, and suggestions for eating out. Will definitely return! Thank you both for your hospitality!
Review 18:Given the off-the-beaten-path location, bigger and more visible signs towards the hotel would be helpful. However, I have to say that, even the first time, we found the hotel without any problems.
Review 19:The accomodation was excellent, the location and view breathtaking. However, the biggest asset of this hotel are the owners. These people have understood the essence of hotel keeping and that is to keep your guests happy. Looking forward to be back there in snow season.
Review 20:Very very nice welcome from the hosts who were very friendly. + We arrived quite late and our hosts prepared a meal for us. The children are still talking about the wonderful breakfast we had, with a lot of home-made products. Comfortable family room with nice view Well located in the nice village of Arachova and a few minutes driving to Delphes
Review 21:Nothing worth mentioning.
Review 22:The owners were really kind and helpful, giving us information on everything we needed. The view of the valley from our balcony was stunning. Breakfast was really enjoyable.
Review 23:The view from the rooms, the location. Amazing owners allways there to help and to offer their advises. The breakfast was the best we have ever tried in a hotel. Everything was homemade and the variety was amazing.
Review 24:A little difficult to find as Google Maps did not properly show where it is. More signs would have been helpful.
Review 25:IMHO this would be very close to the best value hotel I have ever stayed in. The view, the room, the hosts, the breakfast were all fantastic. A pleasure to spend time there.
Review 26:The most friendly Greek people we encountered. Most kind, helpful golfs. Our stay was just delightful. They drove us into town so we could eat at a restaurant, then picked us up and brought us back
Review 27:Hard to find since Google's directions are off, but one of the staff was nice enough to come out to the main road to direct us to the place.
Review 28:Wonderfully welcoming and accommodating family-run guesthouse. Incredibly filling, varied, and delicious homemade breakfast. They even gave us tea and snacks upon our evening arrival! Spectacular view.
Review 29:Lovely place, great location just on the edge of town. An easy, pretty 10 minute walk home after dinner. Wonderful views, over the valley and olive groves. A peaceful country feeling. Clean and tidy and a wonderful Greek mama who cooks up wonderful pies and breakfast. A special restful place
Review 30:Locations can be tricky. Ask for directions to them. Google map will drive you to the wrong place in Arachova and will confuse streets with stairs.
Review 31:Great hosts, they made sure that we had everything we need. Asked many times if the kids needed anything to eat or drink even before bed time
Review 32:I loved actually interacting with the owners and they were so friendly, inviting and helpful. The house is artfully decorated and the breakfast is AMAZING!
Review 33:Approach to the property is down a steep, roughly paved road, somewhat remote from the town. (Maybe a 20 minute walk).
Review 34:Exceptional homemade breakfast. We also took up the offer of homemade vegetarian dinner and a ride to the top of the town for view and chance to walk back down ( or they would have picked us up)
Review 35:Very clean and luxurious room Very friendly staff Amazing view Very quiet during the nights, we had very restful sleep. The staff offered to keep the breakfast available until we are awake. They really love their customers and their business.
Review 36:The hotel is decorated with all sorts of items collected by the grandfather who was a poet. The mother was very keen to talk about history, the area and she cooked excellent pies for breakfast. We were driven to the village for dinner and taken to a tour of the village on the way back. For us it was a leftover of old Greece, rare to find nowadays.
Review 37:Nothing bad to report at all. The road to the driveway was a little steep, but that could hardly be helped, and the view was more than enough compensation!
Review 38:The family was super welcoming and caring, and the food and location fabulous.
Review 39:Breakfasts were superb and a start to the day that couldn't be beaten; Plenty of helpful pointers from our hosts (e.g. for ski hire and places to dine); Had trouble finding the drive in point using the SatNav, so was delighted when the offer was made to come and find us to lead us in. Generous hospitality would be an understatement.
Review 40:Not that good soundproofing from the other loft studio.
Review 41:Very nice location, excellent view, silent place close to the center of Arachova. Excellent home made breakfast. Very clean, spacious loft room, with brand new bathroom, working fireplace! The stuff very polite and helpful!
Review 42:Nothing.
Review 43:Wonderful staff offered us superb hospitality. We felt like home and better. Great breakfast with fresh eggs and pies. Pleasant and comfortable rooms. Fast internet everywhere.
Review 44:The wifi wasn't accessible on our devices but I did not mention it to the owners...I figured we could use some "off-the-grid" time. Similarly to many places in Greece, the width of the road supports 1 vehicle and there's a drop down the hill to one side...it was no problem to navigate, slowly, in daylight.
Review 45:The owners were friendly & very helpful (we wanted a quiet evening in the room and they helped us order a yummy and economical dinner). The view from the room and dining area was absolutely lovely.
Review 46:It is a bit hard to find....but drive through Arachova towards Delphi and you'll see it's clearly signposted from the main road. Only wish we'd done this and not followed our sat-nav!
Review 47:Loved the amazing views. Very comfortable rooms. Andreas (son of the owners) went out of his way to help, picking us up from a taverna when it was pouring with rain. It's a nice walk from Nefeles to the town of Arachova
Review 48:Pretty far from Arachova - you 'll need a car to the town center
Review 49:The hostess is the daughter of an art painter who is also the author of several books about the region. The walls are full of memorabilia / artistic mementos. The view towards Delphi is breathtaking.
Review 50:The area, as a whole, has poor tv reception, so limited channels avail. in the rooms, but very good wifi.
Review 51:The service at this sweet hotel was warmer than any we've had before. The staff, one big family, offered to make hot drinks, put children tv on in the lounge. Breakfast was a feast of home made Greek food. They are a very creative family, poetry and crafts, which we enjoyed learning about.
Review 52:Sometimes the Wifi didnt work..
Review 53:Very kind people offered coffe and advice and even transport! Good location, panoramic view, nice breakfast - we will probably come back with the whole familiy!
Review 54:It is slightly out the way down a country lane, but easy to find with signposts.
Review 55:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nefeles. It exceeded our expectations, we were very well looked after by the owners, who were always there to greet you and offer their help. The breakfast was traditional Greek style, all homemade and delicious. The best part of the room was the fantastic view with balcony. It was furnished to a high standard and it was very cosy and warm with traditional touches. I would highly recommend this hotel for it's country charm.
Review 56:small (19") TV (which we didn't really use anyway though)
Review 57:Beautiful stone building, surrounded by nature and trees, great view of the valley below both from the room and the dining area, very cozy and traditional inside, great heating (despite the subzero temperatures in the snow covered nature outside). The place is run by the owner and her family, they were so friendly and helpful, that we felt like part of the family as well. Amazing breakfast, every morning there were 6-7 trays filled with different and delicious home made pies available. The owner ran a car service to the center of Arachova free of charge, including pick-up back to the hotel at a call's notice. All in all a great stay, highly recommended!
Review 58:We had a lovely stay at Nefeles. Madame recommended a small taverna for dinner, that was wonderful. The room was very cozy, warm, and spacious. We just wished we were staying for a longer visit!
Review 59:Our take on the approaching road, subject to some clear prior debate, would be that the road, is not in our opinion in any way hazardous, it is simply mildly rugged, which adds in itself to the charm of the place and the surrounding area. No problems there.
Review 60:The owners of the guesthouse were extremely welcoming and professional. The guesthouse itself is in a highly picturesque location and is a superb spot for those wishing to visit both Arachova and Delphous, whilst remaining a comfortable distance away from the town centre's. A good choice furthermore for the classically minded couple or individual looking for a deep and somewhat romantic flavour of the spirit of Arachova/Paranssos, as the guesthouse is steeped in various artworks and mounted poems. The 'loft room' is a true delight principally by virtue of its spaciousness, sumptuous fireplace and handmade soaps and lotions in the bathroom.
Review 61:quite complicated to find the place, especially at night.
Review 62:staff is very helpful and friendly, breakfast is wonderful, owner round trip shuttles guests to the center of the village for no charge.
Review 63:Nothing. Our best total experience.
Review 64:Everything. However, the people are the best. The husband came to rescue us when we had a problem on the road. The family welcomed us warmly. They are extremely kind people. The wife is a wonderful cook and helped us with laundry. The son spent two hours helping us with very complex ferry reservations. Location has spectacular views and is very convenient to Delphi. Super!
Review 65:The road leading to the resort needs some maintenance ...
Review 66:Extremely quiet location, wonderful breakfast, very friendly staff and excellent room with a stunning view!
Review 67:Very friendly, helpful owners. The rooms were clean, bright and very pretty, Very comfortable bed. Great home-cooked breakfast. Quiet place with a beautiful views.
Review 68:very good location slightly outside the village with superb views of the mountains, very attentive hosts, great breakfast (self-made traditional food), the place has character
Review 69:Excellent location, just minutes drive from Arachova to Delphi and is very near both places. Easy to find. Super friendly owners. Good breakfast. Breath-taking views. Secluded location.
Review 70:Superb property from the cleanliness of the hotel to the generosity of the owners. The views of the valley are incredible and just a few minutes from Arachova town and 10 minutes from Delphi.10/10 Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Review 71:A bit difficult to find (Google Maps thinks it is somewhere else, one should follow the signs of the hotel)
Review 72:The hospitality, The view, Parking , good breakfastat the door
Review 73:- Perhaps location (the hotel is hard to find at night). - They do not accept any tips (this might seem positive, but it is really frustrating that you cannot reward in any way the hosts' generosity and kindness)
Review 74:- Absolutely everything. - Above all, the amazing hosts (Panos, Lena, Andréas and Magda) that make you feel like a member of a Greek traditional family. They are extremely dedicated and offer all their kindness to their guests. - You will not find a better place for breakfast in the area. Almost all food is made at home by Lena and, needless to say, delicious. - They let us choose which room we wanted to stay in. - Everything, everything, everything.
Review 75:Very friendly and family atmosphere. The owners take pride in their splendid work, they cannot be more friendly. The rooms are very clean, nicely decorated and most (maybe all, ours did) have breathtaking view. We firmly recommend!
Review 76:Lena and Panos are superb hosts. Very thoughtful and ready to help with whatever you need. Lena cooks the best Greek breakfasts! Beautifully furnished in a stunning location and a healthy 15min walk into town. I'll be back!
Review 77:If you're not traveling in you own vehicle then this location is difficult to get to.
Review 78:This place is run by a husband and wife, and so provides a genuine Greek atmosphere. Lovely people. It's high on the hillside in a quiet location and a short drive to Delphi.
Review 79:The hosts could not have been more friendly, warm, or helpful! After two days, they felt like old friends. The view from the inn is incredible and the inn has a unique charm and loveliness. The breakfast included many home-baked items that Lena made each day -- a very special treat. The family room is very spacious and the decor is beautiful. So much warmth! Only minutes from Delphi and we chose to hang out in Arahova (very charming) rather than fight the crowds and tourists of the city of Delphi. The town of Arahova is a hidden gem in the summer, although we understand it is quite busy during the winter ski months. This is one place we will definitely go back to on our next trip to Greece!
Review 80:The happy friendly owners that could not do enough for us. The views were beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. Close to Delphi and the ruins, so a good place to stay for day trips and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Review 81:There was no air condition during our summer stay. Luckily we opened the windows, and it was bearable, although some bugs.
Review 82:Our family of 2 adults and 2 children had a nice stay at Nefeles. I would say it's a bed and breakfast more than a hotel. We had a family room which was spacious enough for us. Our hostess Lena was extremely welcoming, kind and generous. We had trouble locating the hotel so she drove into Arachova town to meet us and guide us there. Upon our arrival, she offered us fresh fruit, homemade cake and cold water and recommended a nice restaurant in Delphi. She even offered us wine, coffee and milk for the children upon our return from dinner. Breakfast was great with homemade cakes, savory pies, yogurt with jam, fresh fruit. It's a great location between Delphi and Arachova. We were very well taken care of during our 1 night stay and definitely recommend Nefeles as a nice bed and breakfast, just beware no AC during summer.
Review 83:The location in remote and a little hard to find. Go the the hotel's private website where you can find a little drawn map that will help you find the hotel. If you have a car the location is not a problem, and I donot think you can find a such hospitality in central location :O)
Review 84:We liked the spacious room, comfortable beds, good wifi signal, room decoration, beautiful views, private parking. The owners were very warm and accomodating. We loved the set of games available and the sitting area where we had tea, coffee and juices (free of charge) - how nice!
Review 85:The stay here was part of an individual trip and really fantastic. The hostess was wonderful, friendly and very helpful. The coffee, apple pie and cookies from the house on arrival were much appreciated, as are the homemade wine and nuts when we got back to the hotel in the evening. The breakfast was homemade and very extended with lots of choice. Very close to Delphi located. 100% perfect stay!
Review 86:Great location with fantastic views. Hosts were particulrly friendly and helpfull. He drove us to the restaurant and picked us up when we were ready. We had a family room (2 rooms) which was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was exceptionally good, the best in Greece. Arachova is a very nice village, worth visiting it. We would have liked to stay more.
Review 87:The owners were extremely nice/helpful. When we arrived they brought us coffee and cakes. Breakfast was also great too. Very close to Delphi, maybe 6 minutes driving. Wonderful view of the mountains.
Review 88:The owners are very kind and accommodating. We didn't rent a car and arrived at Levadia train station from Kalambaka. They offered us a transfer at a very reasonable price upon our request. They also held our luggage for us while we went to Delphi for the day and then brought our luggage to the KTEL bus stop in Arachova on our way back to Athens so that we wouldn't have to take a cab back to Arachova to pick them up before getting on the bus! Also sampled some of their homemade wine. The rooms are very clean, although the bathrooms are a little small. However, this is a pretty common issue in many European hotels and BnBs. Overall, a lovely location even if you're only going to be there for a day or two. B/C it's also a winter ski resort town, there are lots of cute shops and restaurants in Arachova itself as well.
Review 89:There was no A/C, and it really was sweltering hot. When we arrived we were first offered a room at the top floor directly under the roof. It was unbelievably hot, only a small roof window and not even a fan. After some confusion, they realized we had a reservation, and that room was ok although still hot and no A/C. No real lobby to sit in, and the room was too small. Two tables on the front porch was all.
Review 90:The breakfast was good. The lady owner is friendly and helpful. Other reviews speak of difficulty finding and the dirt road - not a problem. Just follow the signs, and drive slowly. The road was in good condition, just a regular normal unpaved road.
Review 91:Was a little difficult to find. The signpost for the turning off the main road could of been bigger or more clearly indicated.
Review 92:Lena's home baked pastries were delicious. The views were fantastic. It was quiet.
Review 93:Our bed was a bit soft and we sunk into the middle, but not a big issue.
Review 94:What a lovely little place! When we arrived, we were made to feel right at home. Lena, the owner, fed us some yummy little cakes, snacks, and afternoon coffee on the front porch. Very relaxing! When we returned to the guesthouse after dinner in town, another staff member brought some wine and snacks to our room. We only stayed one night, but wished we could've stayed longer!
Review 95:nothing
Review 96:Very helpful and friendly owners. Breakfasts excellent and they offered us a packed lunch too at no charge. Nice room and delightful views. Near but not in he town. we walked in (20 minutes). Otherwise a short drive.
Review 97:We loved staying at the Hotel Nefeles on our recent trip through the area and would recommend it very highly. The rooms were beautiful and the view and setting were astonishing. We loved the diverse artworks and local history books. The hosts were so generous and welcoming, they made us feel as though we were at a fancy resort and at the same time right at home. (Thank you very much!!) We also enjoyed walking to and through Arachova in the evening, and had a delicious meal at a local taverna after a long day.
Review 98:Nothing!
Review 99:This family run hotel is a gem. A warm welcome, comfortable clean room, stunning views, scrumptious home made breakfast and friendly advice. This is a great choice if you are in tharea. Less than 10 minutes to Delphi.
Review 100:Rooms are not soundproofed
Review 101:Very hospitable owners. Home made breakfast.
Review 102:The location the view and the staff very welcoming
Review 103:Location. Friendly people. Nice rooms
Review 104:Slightly outside of town.
Review 105:Very frendly hosts. Like visiting a family.
Review 106:Very clean, very quiet, very friendly owners.
Review 107:Leaving this beautiful family
Review 108:Great accommodation, amazing family staff and fantastic brekky spread (home made) with a view. Warmly recommended!
Review 109:Hospitality by far the best we have seen. Most cultured, intelligent and kindest family.
Review 110:The stuff are really nice the view is beautiful we even got to taste dinner with no charge at all
Review 111:Very kind and welcoming hosts in a beautiful place at Arachova.
Review 112:Great breakfast, location and staff.
