Review 1：The hot tubs looked so inviting but the water was too cool. There didn't seem to be any towels either, and when we asked the front desk, they referred us to the maids. The beds were a little soft, especially for hotel beds.

Review 4：The water, it smells. It's not the fault of the hotel I think but the shower / sink water smells like the outside river. I hated to brush my teeth. Don't drink it either. The beds were extremely too soft. I put my matters on the floor and it was much nicer to sleep.

Review 7：It's not a 'holiday' hotel, it's ok though for a nights stop between places though. I can't imagine they do Northern Lights Wake up calls like other hotels do, but if they do they should let people know when they book in.

Review 9：Wifi was spotty on the rooms away from the lobby. The sulfur smell was very strong from the water (no fault of the hotel but just be aware). The lobster roll is not like your typical Boston variety which was what we expected. It was dripping in oil after being deep fried. And whoeverthought white chocolate sauce pairs well with seafood soup needs to rethink that

Review 10：The hot breakfast with waffle station and northern lights wake up call as well as the friendly staff. The dining area had a clean modern ambiance and the dinner specials were great options for the price.

Review 12：We stayed at Hotel Selfoss as a last minute decision to take refuge from an Iclandic winter storm. What a nice surprise it was. While the storm raged outside we were comfy in luxury. The spa was great and well worth the extra charge.

Review 14：We asked for a family room and were allocated very large double and connecting double overlooking the river. Although furnishings quite dated very comfortable and cosy. Restaurant food including buffet breakfast excellent and bar staff very attentive. Photo exhibition work a look and nearly bought!!!

Review 17：The hotel was very modern and up to date in some areas such as the spa, restaurant and lobby, however the rooms need updating. They were clean and not unacceptable, but looked a bit tired and dated. One half of the mattress in our twin room had a slope to it and clearly needed replacing, while the shower was slightly rusty and needed to be updated.

Review 18：The RiverSide Spa was excellent, and the girl who ran it was friendly,helpful and professional. The late opening hours were very helpful after a long day walking or sightseeing. The hotel itself was clean, staff were helpful and the food was excellent. Especially loved the waffles at breakfast.

Review 55：I was staying at this hotel to meet up with other travelers. I arrived very early & the staff at reception allowed me to check in at 8:30 am. The staff was very helpful in making sure I met up withy group.

Review 56：Needs better blinds. Only about 4 hours of darkness the night I was there, room was very bright by about 5 a.m. - for a country that has very short nights, heavy/blackout blinds are a must if sleep is desired.

Review 58：We arrived to the hotel after a long hike. The receptionist said he cannot see any booking from me, but I should send him the email with the booking. So I did and as there was no other room available at the time he gave us the best room of the hotel, the wedding suite :) fantastic experience, especially nice breakfast and the free entry to the local thermal pools is a very hot feature we used throughout our stay. The key cards stopped working randomly though but the receptionist gave us replacements immediately.

The Wi-Fi is misconfigured and does not work correctly even in the lobby. nearly no internet the whole 5 days. The pool is a public pool a few blocks away. No laundry facilities anywhere in the town or surrounding area. The restaurant is very expensive and with small portions.

Review 76：There were no facilities to make hot drinks in our room and the fold down bed for our 8 year old was not the most comfortable. Restaurant in the hotel was expensive even compared with others in Iceland (eg The Blue Lagoon) so we only ate there once (£100).

Good local facilities including supermarket, cash machines and a couple of reasonable restaurants all within 2 minutes walk. We qould recommend doing 5-6 days at Selfoss which gives lots of fantastic thing to see within 1-2 hours drive. Overall a good hotel in an ideal location to travel around south coast of Iceland.
