Reviews for Villa Calypso
Review 1:Very nice villa with comfortable rooms where you can feel almost at home. No need to leave the key on the reception. Nice garden, where dogs and cats live. Very fast internet connection. Perfect location.
Review 2:I just been in the begining of October...the villa is very nice...but so cold inside the rooms...i guess for the summer is very good....but not really for this time...
Review 3:Peacefull...
Review 4:Hot water was a problem. Took so long to come on and then one day No hot water at all. We were told that the problem was rectified but unfortunately we were checking out. I didn't like going to another hotel for breakfast.
Review 5:The room was a little tired looking but magnificent at the same time.
Review 6:Not a problem but the sister hotel swimming pool is small, but with such a beautiful clear sea we preferred to spend our time at the many beach clubs.
Review 7:Villa Calypso is a hidden gem in the heart of fashionable Capri, yet it's quite side street location makes it the perfect location. It;s huge Junior Suite and large sun terrace both have stunning views over the ocean. Perfect setting for breakfast which is delivered every morning. Clean and friendly staff, English speaking, Perfect, we will come back and would recommend to all
Review 8:Rooms are a short walk from the hotel. No wi-fi access in the room. I didn't complain to the staff about this.
Review 9:Best of both worlds. Convenience and staff of a hotel but with the charm of a private villa. Great view from the private terrace.
Review 10:Beautiful room with a gorgeous view out to sea. Lovely sunny terrace where you can sit and relax. Really BIG comfortable bed. Great location, good breakfast in nearby hotel.
Review 11:Shower took at least 10 minutes to heat up. No matches provided to light the candles.
Review 12:Location is secluded and away from all other hotels and shops. Very romantic with only 4 villas. View is lovely and sweet cats came to join us in the morning.
Review 13:wifi signal didn't work in the room, only in the lobby. we visited in January and the heating system in the villa didn't seems working. there was an electric heater in the room but had to work 24 hours to keep a bit warm the room. we couldn't take a bath because the bathroom was too cold and the hot water not enough hot to stay.
Review 14:the room, additional little terase and sun beds and the bathroom were nice. position was good with some sea view.
Review 15:Impossible to say.
Review 16:Villa Calypso was not available due to problems with the water. Alex from Villa Calypso was very courtious in arranging appropriate alternative accommodation at Hotel Christina Regina) and a refund as compensation. Even though smaller than the room in the villa, the hotel was decent, a bit run down, but the room was very comfertable and offers a splendid view.
Review 17:Rather dissapointing breakfast, although that was a problem with every place we stayed at in the Naples area.
Review 18:Room had a large terrace and a great view of the island and the sea A nice bathroom with a huge tub for two!
Review 19:No wifi in the room
Review 20:Great location near the certosa on the southfacing slope of capri. Wonderful terrace with sea view were we could have our breakfast... Just perfect!
Review 21:The Villa was a little difficult to locate on the day of arrival. (In fairness to the Manager he had emailed directions but not until the evening before we arrived - so I hadn't seen my email). The furniture on the terrace could do with a lick of paint.
Review 22:We loved the beautiful uninterrupted view of the sea and the peace & quiet at the Villa. Our Junior suite was large and attractively furnished, with all the facilities one needs. The bathroom was super too. Breakfast was served on our private terrace every morning by the most friendly staff, even though we did struggle with communication occasionally (as we don't speak Italian) we always managed to make ourselves understood. They really were quite charming and very helpful! Although there was no pool at the Villa we had access to a pool at an attractive hotel a sort stroll away (towels were provided , there were ample sun beds and a good cafe/bar by the pool with sea views). All in all we had a lovely holiday in at Villa Calypso.
Review 23:First day we got there, room was boiling hot, we turned the aircon on and left for the afternoon/ evening. Returned 11pm, room still 29 deg! Complained and after 2 staff trying to fix it, they woke up the owner who said "of course it's broken, but it's ok for you to stay tonight". Umm, no it's not ok to be sweating in your room, and they didn't have a spare portable aircon. Why weren't we told of broken aircon at checkin? We could have found another hotel... We were moved to a horrible small dirty room with no view in the main hotel. We asked for compensation for the inconvenience of moving rooms at midnight and lower standard of room, but manager said nothing he can do. (It's about 500m walk to main hotel) For second night they found a portable aircon and we moved back to the original room which was nice, wifi didn't work though, and inconvenient to move rooms each day!
Review 24:Very difficult to write review as the room itself is great. Comfy bed with good pillows, big bathroom with huge bath, awesome balcony with views where you can get breakfast and easy access to nearby pool
Review 25:I thought it was a hotel but in fact it is a villa and the main hotel is closer to the piazza a short distance away Breakfast was continental, would have liked some hot food
Review 26:Close to the piazza and the charterhouse Got passes for a swimming pool in a nearby hotel
Review 27:What a stylish villa it was. Offer great comfort.
Review 28:not being able to stay longer... ;)
Review 29:Nice spacious room, well located and a wonderful view balcony
Review 30:Large room Very nice terrace Comfortable bed and sofa
Review 31:The wifi didn't work well
Review 32:Everything except the wifi.
Review 33:Three irritants: 1) Breakfast - the buffet breakfast at the "sister" hotel (Regine Christina, I believe) is very poorly run - constantly out of basics (plates, cups, not to mention food items), surly staff, etc. There is an option to have breakfast delivered to your roon, which I wish we had taken. 2) Check-in: you check-in NOT at the hotel, but at the "sister" location, which is about 300 meters away. Not a big deal, but irritating. 3) Wi-fi did not reach our room. Had to go to the little terrace at the reception, which is a nice place to sit, so a minor irritant.
Review 34:Fabulous room with a private terrace, great views, close to the center of the town.
Review 35:Often there is no one in attendance at the hotel and when we arrived there was no one to let us in.There. Is a phone number to call.We did not have a phone and when we asked a shopkeeper to call for us no one answered that number.Luckily everyone knows each other on. Capri and they were able to find someone to let us in.Another time we were met at the gate by the owners two Alsatians who were so menacing we were frightened to go in
Review 36:Titiana made sure. That we were happy and comfortable .She greeted us every morning with a smile and Bon giorno and a lovely breakfast that we ate on our balcony overlooking the blue sea and hills
Review 37:The view is breathtaking. Room is nice. We had a breakfast on the terrace and it was wonderful experience. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.
Review 38:Didn't like the bed linens - they were linen, not cotton. Also the towels, although clean, would have been nicer if they were white cotton.
Review 39:Very quaint. Friendly staff. Good location. Nice terrace with beautiful view. Breakfast served right in your room.
Review 40:I loved the service. Caterina was a wonderful host for us and was ready to fulfill all of our requests. The room was very clean. The breakfast was very fresh and rich. Both myself and my husband loved it. Everyone was friendly and very willing to meet our needs. The view is perfect.
Review 41:First of all, the location of Calypso is just perfect, in the very center of Capri but still in a very calm place so you can enjoy both worlds. The staff is very helpful and nice and the rooms are beautiful and very large, comfortable (amazing bed) with a wonderful view of the island and the ocean. The Villa is very cosy, it blends in the nature and so do you.
Review 42:Everything was just perfect. Location is the best, you are just in thesmall and very quiet street 100 m away from the main str. The veiw isbreathtaking. Our stay was unforgettable. I really recomend to stay atvilla Calypso. There was nothing we didn' t like
Review 43:Difficult to find if you do not know that such a house is a hotel.... Breakfast is average.
Review 44:The view of the editerranean sea from the terrace of our room: magnificent
Review 45:No real entrance, outside was not clean and welcome, smell of smoke whenwe got in, welcome was not very charming. Breakfast is really nothinggréât, no fresh coffee but nesscoffee....(we are in Italy!), no freshbread and only available in the room (so no extra of anything if wanted)
Review 46:The room was splendide, also the bathroom. We loved the fireplace thesecond night.
Review 47:Uncomfortable bed.
Review 48:Beatiful quiet location.
Review 49:Very professional and friendly staff- especially Mr. Alex. Thank you.
