Reviews for Bloo Lagoon Village

Review 1:Too little privacy for the bathroooms. No air conditions. Many mosquitos on terrace

Review 2:Wonderful view, Wonderful garden, Very good breakfast and restaurant.

Review 3:the surrounding of the cottages are not taken care off... garden waste is just thrown behind the cottages ( why not putting it in a compost area away from the huts?). The actually nice seating area in the lower level is in bad shape and the waste water plant (which obviously is not running but bringing bad smell to the balcony) is just in front of the cottage...this is definitely a surrounding that mosquitos love...considering the low enployment service costs I wonder why it is so hard for an eco lodge to take care of the green environment and work on proper gardening. Besides, there are not a lot of storage options for clothing and hanger for towels in the bathroom are also lacking. The shower handle was broken already. Last but not least...it would have been nice, if the curtains could be closed completely for the whole room and not only the bed area.

Review 4:the charme of the rooms are nice, with open and natural structures. the view from the seaview cottage is great.

Review 5:Only things not to like are not within the control of the hotel: There was some noice from ferries all through the night and unfortunately the sea was extremely polluted with waste completely ruining the snorkeling experience.

Review 6:Beautiful location; extremely friendly and helpful staff; eco friendly concept; unbeatable views from the villa; lovely spa; great pool area

Review 7:Old people in the pool not liking kids in the pool, most noisey place I have ever stayed, eco slant makes it very overpriced, food also overpriced. Kids got rushed at by angry monkey near reception, prob due to staff throwing rocks at them.

Review 8:Good pool for kids with great slide

Review 9:We had a two bedroom Villa. From one room the view was on the little kitchen in front of the room - not really what I want to see. The whole area of the Hotel was untended and is was more like to be on a Camping place.

Review 10:NIce view to the sea. eco concept is good. staff at breakfast was really nice

Review 11:Ants everywhere!

Review 12:A great eco concept with a knowledgeable gardener who could explain it all. The kids loved the pool with its slide. Although Padang Bai is not such a great base (dirty beach and town just a boat hub) it was great to have the panoramic views from the hotel. We particularly liked the free early morning yoga.

Review 13:Bed was not that comfortable and the pillows smelled of stale sweat.. They needed a wash n sunning. We didn't sleep well.

Review 14:Villa #3 is perched high up on the hills overlooking Pandang Bai - wonderful views and great sea breeze! Nice Eco concept.

Review 15:If there was anything, perhaps the staff in the massage/spa area were a little pushy to sell their products.

Review 16:This is the most beautiful location. A tropical paradise, with the loveliest staff. Nothing was too much trouble. I asked about some over the counter medication, and Apri offered to obtain this for me in her village, as it was not available in Padang Bai. The staff is truly an amazing asset for the ?Blood Lagoon

Review 17:The bed was not very comfortable and the AC was blowing right on our faces when we were sleeping -- opening all of the windows instead was a good alternative. Also, we couldn't use the bathtub -- it would have been nice but ultimately not super necessary.

Review 18:Super friendly, very accessible staff. Delicious, flavorful and healthy food. Great & affordable spa services. Villas have unique and gorgeous architecture and the indoor/outdoor living is relaxing and lovely.

Review 19:The breakfast served was average and the food served in the restaurant was not very enjoyable.

Review 20:The amazing Villa we stayed in, the views, the wild life.

Review 21:was disappointed with the first room as just next to building renovations. The room downstairs had sliding doors that were actually unable to close and were off their stip at the bottom so literally were hanging and flapping & aircon was not efficient. On complaining immediately, the staff were very understanding and moved my daughter and I to another room which completely changed my mood for the better and remained delighted from there after.

Review 22:The hotel staff informed my daughter and I about a ceremony that was taking place in a village nearby and arranged the excursion. It was very interesting and well worth going to. The view from our villa was absolutely outstanding. Food was not great but well priced. The pool was unusual in its design and pleasant. I think the hotel is in need of a spruce up. One gets the idea that money is a little short for this process to happen.

Review 23:Our house had a constant mechanical sound (like a generator) coming from the nearby port which kept us awake at night - we had to shut the bedroom door and turn on the fan to block it out. Which was a shame. But I think the other houses don't get the noise - so don't get house 13. The food in the restaurant wasn't the best. But plenty of good places in Padangbai. The owner's cat was very annoying - meowing round our legs to be fed the whole time we were eating. Cleanliness wasn't the best either.

Review 24:The accommodation houses are beautiful, very private and stunning views over Padang Bay - especially while sitting on the outside toilet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free shuttle into town - but not too far to walk either.

Review 25:e were going from Ubud to the Gili islands and wanted to stay overnight in Padang Bai. Ended up staying another night just for this hotel. The view over the entire bay is amazing, the restaurant has some of the best food we've had in Bali. It's really calm there, and we really enjoyed the nature aspect of it. The place is built with sustainability in mind - they grow their own fruits & vegetables- and they don't sell plastic bottles.

Review 26:Even if the economic friendly concept is great, more power plugs/extensions and a hair dryer in the villas would be improvement.

Review 27:The Bloo Lagoon Village is an economic friendly concept village, which means you live with the nature. The villas are great to live and very traditional, including outside rainforest shower. The view over the sea is amazing and the Bloo Lagoon is near. The staff is amazing, no wish will be denied. The staff is living the indonesian kindly- and happiness, soon becoming your second family. We very enjoyed our stay there and we will definitly try to come back somewhere in future.

Review 28:The rooms are not that clean and poor choice of breakfast (like everywhere in Bali actually)

Review 29:The view from the Hotel is the best in Padang Bay! You wake up to the misty Bay surrounded by mountains! Breathtaking! You really feel that you are in the nature. No AC and you actually don't need it. There is always a light breeze coming from the Ocean.

Review 30:The hotel looks awful from the outside and the lobby is unattractive and gives a poor impression. The paths look a bit unkempt and the stone steps down to villas look forbidding . But once in your rooms and terrace with a sea view its a paradise !

Review 31:The bedroom was super with a big fan and outside bath and shower. We had adjoining rooms and a big terrace with decorative covers on the huge wood sun lounger mattresses Perfect for a family. Big table and chairs on our terrace meant we could order room service dinner from the very good restaurant. Huge swimming pool was fun for kids with a little cave with large balls. A water polo net and an amazing water slide. Nice hotel shop, massage etc. and shops to walk to. We didn't self cater just enjoyed the restaurant. The staff were all wonderfully helpful.

Review 32:Yeah, I suppose if you're a fussy city slicker, you might find the wildlife difficult. You will see frogs, lizards, and other creatures in and around your villa. Honestly, I thought it was kind of a fun experience seeing so many exotic animals. The birdsong throughout the day is absolutely heavenly as well. The town is chill but has a lot of trash everywhere, but that's not much different than other towns in Bali. I had some communication difficulties with the staff before I arrived, but all was forgotten after they were on point with the airport pickup and everything else was so great.

Review 33:Everything about this place is wonderful. The view from the villas and especially the restaurant is spectacular. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The restaurant is pretty good and very healthy and the spa is pure heaven. I had 4 massages and some spa treatments in six days and I paid so little. Ive never felt so relaxed in my entire life. They do an amazing job being sustainable and I really felt great knowing I was making less of an impact as a tourist. The grounds are a tropical wonderland of amazing wildlife. I felt like I was staying in the garden of eden. between the view and gardens, Bloo Lagoon has to be one of the most beautiful places in Bali. I see myself coming back here periodically for the rest of my life.

Review 34:The views from our room were absolutely amazing. We had this huge area to ourselves. The outside shower/bathroom was fantastic. It was so peaceful. There was always a shuttle there to take us into town. The staff were very helpful when we needed them. Used the day spa, which was great and definitely value for money. Highly recommend staying there.

Review 35:unfortunately the internet went down on our 2nd day and it was not able to be repaired but the staff were very apologetic and did everything possible to get it functioning

Review 36:We loved the view over the bay , the feeling of tranquility as we sat on the deck of the villa . We had everything we needed, the breakfast were amazing. The concept beyond the resort was an added bonus

Review 37:The open plan rooms may not be to everyone's taste as there's no aircon and the bed is protected from insects by a net. The hotel hire local taxis for the airport drop off at 450,000 Rp. The same taxis can be hired in the town for as little as 250,000 Rp

Review 38:Interesting place to stay. Very different accommodation concept which is open to the elements. The "rooms" are spacious with a kitchen and eating area as well as a bedroom and thus are more like an apartment than a normal hotel room. Grounds are well looked after and the restaurant is reasonable serving good breakfasts. Local town is very close and although there's a shuttle bus, it's a very short walk down a steep hill to the town.

Review 39:Food apart from breakfast could be better. Resort a little tired.

Review 40:The view from our villa was spectacular and the staff friendly and helpful. The transport facilities also good. Breakfast fine

Review 41:get halfday trips (tenganan advisable) for a fixed price and not on a time basis, Avoid getting the driver Wayan. He is without respect and touched my wifes knees. I had to react angry to stop him. The hotel regretted but did not take action.

Review 42:You will get lots of space and a great view tho the ocean and a nice lagoon and a wonderful spa..

Review 43:It is one thing to be an eco-resort, but mosquitoes are dangerous and annoying to sleep with. Even spraying ourselves, we were having problems with them. While there is netting for the bed the rooms are quite open to the outside. The sliding doors have huge gaps above, below and do not close together. Therefore, all insects come in all the time. Also, the a/c winds up going outside, a waste of energy. It is one thing to be eco friendly; it is another to ignore the dangers. In addition, our three nights were fraught with other problems. The entire bathroom is outdoors, quaint, but one cannot leave any toiletries outside because they will get wet when it rains or will be a problem due to the animals. There is little storage space for clothes except for a small shelf, some hanging space and under the bed. There is no table or chair to work on. There is a kitchen with a table and chairs outside, but one cannot work outside in the evening because of the mosquitoes. Our room shared this space, kitchen facilities and sofas with the adjacent bungalow, so you're not really private. At least during our stay no one occupied that other room. Also, noise really travels and one can hear everyone else, although the villas are nestled in greenery so you don't see other people. Also, before leaving, we had asked if someone could help with our luggage, in 15 minutes. But, when the time came no one was available. We waited another 15 minutes before deciding we would drag the stuff ourselves, over the dirt and rocks, to our car. Not the best way to start the day.

Review 44:This resort sits up high on the peninsula above Blue Lagoon. It is advertised as an eco resort and uses its own farmed vegetables and fruit, provides a souvenir canvas bag, gives you plentiful filtered water, not bottled, and tries to let you live within nature as it is. We applaud that - up to a point. The resort has a lovely pool and a restaurant with a good selection of vegetarian options, plus a dazzling panoramic view. Reasonable pricing for a resort as well. You are a 10 minute walk from the small town, but there is a free shuttle that can take people to town for any reason. Just call and they will pick up as well. For diving the resort recommends 4Fundiving, Irene. She was wonderful. Very personal service versus the other large group shops.

Review 45:What a wonderful experience! We were expecting an open plan concept but not as wonderful as this was. The reception staff were very welcoming and gave us lots of information on check in. Our bags were delivered to our villa and a tour of the villa to show us how things worked. The views - simply amazing. The open concept meant that we caught some great breezes. Slept very well. Restaurant staff very good and the food freshly prepared. Close proximity to amazing beach.

Review 46:Leaving!:-)

Review 47:After a few days on the Gili Islands, it was wonderful to return to our great open room with panorama of the bay and the Mount Agung Vulcano with a hammock set up. She staff are always smiling and welcoming and if we needed any transport they were there immediately. The location and the way the resort is built in open plan villas and in harmony with nature and jungle life is beyond all expectations. On Christmas Eve there was organized a special party and the staff spent days preparing flower arrangements and decorations. An unforgettable holiday and we would certainly like to return.

Review 48:The view from the villas and restaurant is amazing. The open plan concept made the experience very pleasant as we could catch the wonderful breeze. Food good with the staff friendly. The staff at this location were very friendly and helpful. The whole area was clean and well presented. Life without TV was a great change. The Christmas dinner was excellent value and well catered for.

Review 49:We loved everything about bloo lagoon, best hotel in Bali, nice snorkeling nearby, free hotel taxi to get to the city, nice personal, beautiful vila with spectacular ocean view

Review 50:A/c Rooms aren't sealed. Wish the town of padang bai had a bit more shopping and night life.

Review 51:New restaurant delightful, each open plan villa has its own unique view of the ocean from a 180 degree peninsula. We love it here and will keep coming back. Great base to hop over to gillies and Lombok.

Review 52:Would have been great if both rooms had air-con, but it was still comfortable!!

Review 53:We loved that at any time day or night there is a drop off or collection in Pandang Bai. This is invaluable as the staff make you feel as though it is no problem what so ever and it made the big hill at which the hotel has an amazing view no effort at all to climb!! The view from the restaurant was panoramic and the villa was stunning and very comfortable.

Review 54:The monkeys trashed the place when bananas were left on the side. The bill is very confusing but I think correct! Breakfast variable. On our last day very poor choice.

Review 55:Location good and meals in the evening good.

Review 56:- You have to lock everything in the small bed room, as all other space is open. Monkeys will visit your place when you're not there and might steel anything.- While some will enjoy living so close in nature, others might have a problem with the monkey occassionally pooing in your living room or eating your soap. - The tours offered by the hotel are way to expensive and also not that good. We had a rather slow driver, showing a lack of motivation. Did a tour booked at the village the other day, which was really much better and cheaper.

Review 57:+ Very big villas, leaving you lot's of personal space for you+ Great view from the terrace + Very friendly staff (...most of them) + Great concept, if you really want to live in nature + Padangbai good starting point for tours into the eastern part of Bali

Review 58:I think it was a little but expensive. However it was a relaxing environment.

Review 59:The set up of the villa. Beautiful surroundings and wonderfully relaxing environment. Very well thought out.

Review 60:Huts facing the habor are very noisy, bacause of the ferry traffic. Start blowing there horns at 5:30 a.m. Open living, maybe a Little bit too open, not really a space in the hut to undress without feeling seen by the neighbours.

Review 61:Very nice spot, unique Hotel. Free shuttle to town and beaches.

Review 62:the wifi connection is unstable

Review 63:Its location near the very beautiful blue lagoon beach. The staffs are very helpful and well informative. Pak Gede, the General Manager of the villa, assists us to bring our luggage by himself while we checked out.

Review 64:We loved the luxury open villa (bedroom has walls so don't worry), the view, the pool with slide, the shuttle bus to bring you to any nearby beach, the lush garden, the friendly staff

Review 65:We stayed 3 nights at Bloo Lagoon and had our own Villa, which was amazing! The staff was very friendly, the open villa was cleaned every day. If you have tine, book one of the cooking classes and cook in your own kitchen - something we will never forget ;)

Review 66:The internet connection wasn't always perfect, the beds could be a bit more comfortable but apart from these minor issues, we loved it at the Bloo Lagoon.

Review 67:The people are very friendly and looked after us all very well. The treatment at the spa is awesome, the food is very tasty and the location is nice. We really enjoyed our short stay at the Bloo Lagoon

Review 68:distance to beach

Review 69:grand villas with private, nicely equipped outdoor living space and bathroom facilities, nice spa facilities, shuttle on demand to village center

Review 70:Beware the shallow reef at Blue Lagoon beach at low tide as your feet and legs can get cut. Better to snorkel or skin dive with the fabulous guides (they have known these areas from when they were children and work them daily as fishermen). You can't book a time for your first complimentary massage.

Review 71:Concept and vision of the eco resort. The great Mt Agung's appearances. Unrelenting pleasantness of staff, and people of PandangBai Villas on the north side. Spa - beautiful views and treatments. Stunning oriignal art displayed throughout the resort. Restaurant, especially breakfast Local traditional market. Local temples, beaches - white sand and turquoise waters, and safe snorkeling experience was memorable. Beautiful views, organic garden. The shuttle open bus.

Review 72:The room being "outside" (i.e. no walls all the way round, just open to the elements), meant that it was hard to keep the bugs out, but it was clean and tidy as much as could be and towels were changed daily.

Review 73:We stayed at Bloo Lagoon for 2 nights at the end of our whistle stop tour of Bali and it was well worth the money. The staff were excellent, the room was large and open with a spectacular view of the bay. We had a private bedroom behind glass doors, and an en suite bathroom "outside". The pool area was clean and plenty of beds, the buffet breakfast was amazing. Just a short walk from the hotel takes you down to the Bloo Lagoon beach which had a rocky area for rock pooling when the tide was out - lots of fun! The restaurant was medium value for money for lunch and dinner, but there are plenty of options. The hotel operates a free shuttle service down to and from the main town which was very handy. All in all this was a great choice, and we would definitely stay here again.

Review 74:It is a bit of a walk kids at nighttime to Padangbai

Review 75:Fantastic view and the villa' s architecture was great - open and airy so no need for aircon. The kids loved the pool and the fact that we had monkeys just outside our villa. The concept are different and you must love to be surprised by frogs in the kitchen at night - you really feel that you are next to the nature

Review 76:Nothing to mention about the hotel as such. However Padangbay is not worth staying as there is nothing to do except taking the boat to the Gili's (which you can also do by coming to Padang the same day). There are people everywhere trying to sell boat tickets, the beaches are not nice and it is very hard to find a restaurant.

Review 77:Really nice eco-friendly hotel area with private bungalows that are well decorated and completely open with the bathrooms outside. I got flowers when arriving at the hotel which was a nice gesture. The swimming pool is lovely and well integrated.

Review 78:Bedrooms like gold fish bowls, glass to three sides. Outdoor bathrooms basic hand held shower over rough ground not much privacy. Restaurant basic breakfast average. Place gets taken over by the happy clappy mob

Review 79:Views and staff where tremendous

Review 80:Food is a little mild, more to westerners taste, rather than traditional Balinese cuisine You may need to endure a cold shower, the hot water was a little sporadic!

Review 81:Fantastic Views, romantic private villas

Review 82:Worn out premises

Review 83:View, pool, restaurant, staff

Review 84:The bed was a bit hard.

Review 85:We loved the property and the location.

Review 86:Very friendly helpful staff, pretty & relaxed location. Restaurant and Spa were excellent.

Review 87:Dun't know...it was all good

Review 88:The location was cool, and the environment...

Review 89:Beautiful room and view, lovely staff, good extras.

Review 90:The beach close to the hotel is not so clean

Review 91:I love their free yoga class in the morning Their shuttle bus is very exciting

Review 92:Nothing

Review 93:The view, location, friendly staff

Review 94:Blue Lagoon beach is not clean. Pollution is the issue for Bali.

Review 95:Raw food in menu! Organic salad make me happy!

Review 96:We had amazing seaview and we saw the volcano Agung from our villa!

Review 97:Interesting accomodation, but a bit higher price

Review 98:relaxed atmosphere, good food

Review 99:Great location Lovely restaurant Really lovely pool with lots of pool loungers AMAZING concierge service!!!

Review 100:Inte värt pengarna för dyrt

Review 101:Fin utsikt

Review 102:Lots of bugs

Review 103:Great views Glad we had aircon Lovely setup No TV

Review 104:Beautiful views which you can even enjoy in the outside bathroom. The restaurant and spa are really good too.

Review 105:Wonderful hotel. We'd like to be there next time.

Review 106:Unsure about the resident monkeys.

Review 107:Incredible buildings with wonderful view,

Review 108:Everything! Especially the pool! And the organic restaurant!

Review 109:Low hot water pressure (not much of a problem)

Review 110:The setting surroundings and general feeling and staff was all superb.

Review 111:Too expensive for what offer. Sleeping is difficult due to the harbor noise

Review 112:Useful to take the early morning boat from padangbai

Review 113:Paths to higher villas could pose a problem in wet weather.

Review 114:Very modern spacious 2 bedroom villa. Spectacular views even from outdoor wc and showers. Great pool, dining an complimentary massage a bonus.

Review 115:If you are a city person probably this hotel is not the best place to stay for a long period of time. But for 1-2 nights Bloo Lagoon - is a must! The room literaly has no walls. You only have a roof to protect you from direct sunligh and rain. Also sleeping area is situated in enclosed space

Review 116:No Aircondtioner in our villa was unexpected. The steep roads made it hard to explore the area

Review 117:The view from the villa fantastic. The open air villa was a lovely experience although the thought of bugs and monkeys entering through the night was always possible

Review 118:The breakfast didn't have any Indonesian Choices which is a pity as I don't travel to foreign country's to eat western food.

Review 119:If you like to be close to the nature this is the place to go, we were amazed when we arrived and saw our hut. You really have the feeling that you are living in the wild, the shower does not have a wall to the outside so when you take a shower you can look over the bay and at the volcano. The view is absolutely great. It is very quiet and you can relax there. The spa is top as well. They have a free shuttle to the village and pick you up if you give them a call. Very friendly staff.

Review 120:You need to have a scooter to stay here or make sure you book the shuttle each day as it is too far to walk to the beach where the restaurants are situated. The beach in Canggu has black sand and is more suited to surfers not swimming or strolling along.

Review 121:The resort was beautiful, a very comfortable boutique style hotel. The pool area is big enough with very tropical surrounds. A very relaxing hotel.

Review 122:Rooms completely opened (not full walls and no AC) should be announced properly in internet before booking, just for people to decide. I would recommend to put fruit for breakfast in the fridge before serving it (it is not nice to eat warm watermelon). Blue Lagoon beach gets plastic from the currents around and makes the snorkelling disgusting with a lot of waste floating there (even if there are quite a lot of fishes under)

Review 123:Our reservation was for a room completely opened that we did not like once there. We were offered another closed room with aircon with the same price, with wonderful sea view and nice kitchen and leaving room. Bed was quite confortable with mosquito net and doors in the room could be locked. Transfer to the village is efficient although you need to call then for the transfer back from the village (it is not possible to arrange a fixed time in advance). Massage in the spa was very good (you even have 10min head and shoulders complimentary). Wild white beach is worthy visiting, although 30min walking from port. Breakfast is ok

Review 124:Grounds are looking a bit shabby but new hotel manager will help improve this.

Review 125:The location on the top of the hotel has the most amazing view across the bay to candidasa which you can overlook from your bungalow and the restaurant.

Review 126:If you like nature, you will love Bloo Lagoon! This is a superb eco-friendly resort, built with nature! We liked everything, the villa was just amazing - with incredible sea view, being close to the nature due to the outdoor space, but still having comfort, everything was perfect! When you leave you will even miss the gecko sound :) The staff was really friendly. Breakfast was excellent. You have free shuttle to/from the white sand beach near Padangbai, which was a really nice spot. The Bloo Lagoon beach is a bit rocky, so if you have aquashoes, you better wear them. You can also bring a flashlight as the space between the villas is a bit dark in the evening. Bloo Lagoon is a great place to stay, peaceful and relaxing, we highly recommend it and hope to visit it again!

Review 127:Somewhat dirty since most stuff outside (ie outside shower, etc)

Review 128:Open spaces, feels very close to nature Location is nice, away from the main touristy street

Review 129:Nothing, we would stay again for sure

Review 130:Everything! We were so pleasantly surprised by how beautiful, peaceful and relaxing this resort was. Our view from the villa was incredible, the room was lovely and the outdoor space/ kitchen was perfect

Review 131:Service was not really up to standard, especially for breakfast. Some of the waitresses appeared annoyed everytime we asked for something. Could def. smile a bit more and friendlier with the guests.

Review 132:Back to nature experience. View from the villa was amazing. Relaxing.
