Reviews for Parklands Country Gardens & Lodges

Review 1:Amazing property with beautifully appointed rooms, luxurious, relaxing, amazing gardens. Staff were very professional, helpful and kind. Delicious buffet breakfast as well!

Review 2:There should be privacy dividers between the outdoor areas of adjoining suites. Without them there is no privacy if people wish to sit outside. Proper tea should be served in a hotel that charges these fees - not teabags! We found human hairs on the pillows of the bed when we first arrived. The common lounge room should be available for guests until at least 10pm - we were told it was closed when we tried to sit there at 8pm.

Review 3:It's a beautiful property and overall is excellent in regards to location, room quality, gardens, breakfast - the things that really matter.

Review 4:The accomodation appeared top quality in the photos but on closer inspection it looked rather second rate. The courtyard area had quite a few weeds, the interior finish wasn't very professional and it lacked quite a few facilities like a bathtub, a pool or a gym, that you would expect for the price.

Review 5:The staff were very attentive and welcoming

Review 6:Only a one night stay so we didn't get to enjoy all the facilities but the accommodation and grounds are spacious and lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Review 7:I felt the cleaning was just a little under par, but not a problem. Bathrooms good.

Review 8:We enjoyed the quietness and the beautiful gardens and lake. We also had privacy as there was only one night we had to share the cottage.

Review 9:The room had a number of crawly animals- even in the towels. The food served in the dining room was not hot- warm (crepe suzette was cold). Overpriced.

Review 10:The gardens were beautiful and staff very welcoming and friendly.

Review 11:There could be some extra utensils in the kitchen. Repellent for flies and mozzies would also be helpful.

Review 12:Rooms were very clean and spacious. In a good location .

Review 13:The suite was very comfortable and quiet. The gardens will evolve and develop to enhance the privacy of the rooms. The breakfast was delicious, the coffee fabulous, the ambience superb and the service excellent.

Review 14:Lack of stocked mini bar in room Lack of on site restaurant for dinner despite the presence of facilities

Review 15:The room design and the quality of the furnishings

Review 16:Obtrusive Asian neighbours (who were attending a wedding on the Saturday) who didn't speak English and invaded our space.

Review 17:Location. Spacious room. Stunning dining area. Friendly staff

Review 18:Did not like the new Loft room. Staff changed us to an old room 9which we were used to)

Review 19:Both staff members that we had contact with were very professional.

Review 20:Was not happy with the breakfast, the eggs were plastic, only 1 toaster & as it was raining, everyone had come to bfast, so there was a queue for the toaster. On the positive they did accommodate us by setting us up in the waiting room as there were no tables left.

Review 21:The warmth & comfort of the room & the tranquil location.

Review 22:A high quality establishment failed to pick up the fact before our arrival that the basin in the bathroom had no plug and did not put it right during our stay. So disappointing.

Review 23:Wonderful location. Beautiful and spacious accommodation with tasteful decor. Classy.

Review 24:My wife wished the room had a bath. Other than that. Nothing.

Review 25:The views of nature which totally surrounds you. Wonderful staff. The family of ducks which met us every time we went near the reception area. Loft room very cosy easily heated with the gas fire place. Separate cottages. Breakfast. Highly recommended.

Review 26:we had no reason to complain about anything.

Review 27:we loved the grounds and atmosphere of the resort, the loft room we had was very cosy and we enjoyed the fireplace as it was a cold night outside. Breakfast was a delight in the lovely sunny breakfast room with the staff going out of their way to make us comfortable. My wife is ill and it was good to see her enjoy herself. thank you.

Review 28:I wish there had been ipod dock for music & maybe a few more nick naks to make the room more homely. Outdoor seating area needs to be screened from neighbours. Spend a bit more time & money on the garden ! Looked neglected. Also consider running shuttle bus during day but especialy at night between Hyrdo, Lianfiels etc so you can go for dinner & have few drinks. Also not to worry about parking in Leura etc. Lose the gravel drive & pathways - noisy & difficult to walk & take wheely luggage through. Add spots to sit in the gardens.

Review 29:Loved the fireplace & heated bathroom floors. Toiletries were lovely. Rooms spacious. Main house divine. Would have loved to have drinks their or dined at night as well

Review 30:Nothing at all.

Review 31:Wonderfully friendly staff who made our stay a real pleasure. Very pleasant environment to relax with loved ones. My parents were very happy and my husband & I also loved Parklands. Thank you

Review 32:The breakfast was very disappointing. Everything on my plate was so overcooked it was virtually inedible. The bacon shattered when trying to cut it, & I couldn't cut the piece of toast on the plate it was so dried out & tough. For the price you charge the breakfast was a disgrace.

Review 33:Almost everything, with the exception of the breakfast everything was exceptional. We tried to rebook on our return from Sydney, but you were fully booked. I have recommended your establishment to everyone I have spoken to since staying there. It truly was a delight & totally unexpected. We will definitely be staying there again, just won't be ordering breakfast.

Review 34:The stone pathways are noisy and uncomfortable to walk on. Entry to our loft apartment (123) was around the back/side. Access felt like we were intruding on lower level rooms privacy. Would prefer that dinner & lunch available on site - even if only at weekends.

Review 35:Loved the room size, the quality inclusions and privacy.

Review 36:Located within stunning grounds, the gorgeous loft room was very clean and spacious with a modern stylish design. Customer service was outstanding, our stay was for my boyfriend's 21st birthday and the staff had prepared some chocolate dipped strawberries in our room as a lovely gesture. Everything was perfect, the fireplace turned on for our arrival created a beautiful ambience and was very cosy as it snowed outside.

Review 37:Would have liked to see more cupboard and drawer space designed into the bedroom; a small kitchenette would be handy to prepare some meals as only breakfast is available other than that it is perfect.

Review 38:We loved everything about Parklands. The quiet, relaxing location and atmosphere, the beautiful modern decor, the large size of the cottages, amazing staff, gorgeous breakfast room, the serene pamper package at the Day Spa - we had the Parklands Serenity, the close location to bush walks and local shops, the outlook and gardens.

Review 39:Nothing to dislike

Review 40:Great place for getaway weekend or week day stay, beautiful settings with boutique restaurants like Ashworths nearby make this a wonderful place to stay.

Review 41:Too short ......

Review 42:I booked one night stay for my birthday treat. Welcome gas fireplace, spacious living room, tasteful decorations, beautiful garden and snowing all bring me a dreamful winter stay in blue mountains.

Review 43:The wifi while free was limited and very slow. I felt the paid offer for "extra" was very expensive.

Review 44:Overall comfort. Size of "lodge" was surprisingly generous. Open fire terrific. Beds very comfortable. Gardens and outlooks gorgeous.

Review 45:Only a small thing but the bathroom basin was way too high.

Review 46:The staff were wonderful, particularly the beautiful lady at Reception who helped out me and daughter when we needed a hand.

Review 47:the room had a fire for heating which was great but the central heating didn't seem to work so the bedroom and bathroom were very cold.

Review 48:traveled with my daughter and her friend, we had a 1 bedroom with a sofa bed, plenty of room. The wall art throughout the place is wonderful. The hand cream is fabulous

Review 49:Gas heater was on when we arrived but didn't do enough to warm the room. Electric heater kicked in later in the night and then we got overheated. Cold breeze came in under door (no weatherstrip).

Review 50:Spacious well appointed suite set in a gorgeous garden setting nestled in the beautiful Blue Mountains

Review 51:A car alarm was going off every 20 min all night !!

Review 52:Rooms were fresh and clean with a wonderful view of the park also the fire was going when we arrived which made it look very cosy , the breakfast was delicious and held in a lovely room all in all it was a great night

Review 53:I booked the loft for my husbands birthday for a little winter getaway over June long weekend. The pictures online do no justice of how beautiful this little Bed and Breakfast is. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Breakfast was lovely and staff were very friendly. Would stay here again. Can't wait to go back.

Review 54:Dinner onsite would top off our experience, however it was extremely nice to explore the township of Blackheath & dine with locals

Review 55:Privacy, comfort, garden setting

Review 56:The restaurant is only open for breakfast which is a shame for a such establishment.

Review 57:The room was very spacious with all the comfort we needed. This place is perfect for people who want to relax.

Review 58:couldn't get the free wifi to work - but in the end, not important!

Review 59:Advised it was for an anniversary and they had a platter of chocolate coated strawberries in our room when we arrived at no charge. Started off the evening beautifully and greatly appreciated.

Review 60:The steam room wasn't ineffective.. it wasn't hot at all. The spa treatments were divine but way overpriced. There were very loud talkative guests with children in the breakfast room, and there weren't any other areas we could move to that were in the sun. A spa or regular bath in room would have been desirable. Private courtyard and some DVD's to watch and an ipod doc would have been good. Also some public use facilities like a sauna and/or pool would have been appreciated at that price.

Review 61:The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated the privacy of the studio. The spa facilities were a selling point for us. Loved the in room products (shampoo, conditioner etc). Staff were easy to deal with and pleasant enough. Good information provided at the front desk about dining places. The place was nicely located and we enjoyed the short walk to restaurants and shops or a short drive to a lookout.

Review 62:Could not turn the heating on in a very cold bedroom and we froze for a while. Air conditioning not working.

Review 63:Basically clean, happy staff, beautiful grounds, awesome breakfast

Review 64:The neighbours in the next room were having quite loud drinks until late at night. Not a big problem for us but might concern other people given that it is so peaceful there usually. Probably a rare event I would say

Review 65:Great location. Beautiful grounds. Very plush and cosy room with comfortable bed, cosy fire and stunning bathroom. Wish we could have stayed for a week.Didn't really get the opportunity to enjoy all the facilities available on our overnight stay.

Review 66:WiFi continually disconnected . But wasn't a big deal . Overall I loved it all

Review 67:Staff were excellent. Room was comfy and inviting . Quiet and relaxing . Beautiful views of the gardens .

Review 68:We stayed in the Govetts unit which we found very comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast and service was wonderful. The facility is well located in Blackheath

Review 69:Nothing

Review 70:This hotel provides everything you would wish for, for a country escape. The facilities are amazing so is the setting. Excellent breakfast, the Italian lady not only beautiful but makes the best cappuccino.

Review 71:It was a shame that the restaurant wasn't opened for dinners - but now that I know that Parklands only opened 5 months ago, I can understand why.

Review 72:Breakfast overlooking the gardens. Staff were cheerful and accommodating.

Review 73:It is a beautiful, peaceful setting. Went for our wedding anniversary. Separate lounge area. Lots of space. We stayed downstairs in a garden room. It would also be good for friends weekends as 4 couples could be in the same lodge but still have their privacy. The breakfast was great lots of choice and well presented.

Review 74:Lack of restaurant facilities for lunch, dinner and room service. We were in a courtyard room, unfortunatlely the footsteps of the guests in the loft above us were loud and frequent,

Review 75:Accomodation, bed, setting.

Review 76:There is nothing even close to being a disappointment, a pool & sauna would be the icing on the cake.

Review 77:Very Private, outstanding Guest service agents, Garden Suite rooms are well appointed & very comfortable space wise

Review 78:There was no hot water in the shower, also the restaurant wasn't available for lunch or dinner, however was not mentioned at the time of (online) booking. No room service or pay per view movies, just regular tv.

Review 79:The room was beautiful a very well planned use of the space. The day spa was lovely and the staff were friendly

Review 80:The location was beautiful itself. Me and my boyfriend are a young couple and for that reason it felt like the staff didnt value us. It felt like the front desk staff were judging us. (We are in our twenties) the buffet breakfast was a rip off for $35 a head. The spa itself was also overpriced. Considering the price we were paying for accomodation it should have been cheaper. Walking around the property was nice however not well kept as there was duck poo all around their water fountains. There was no room service available which also was a damper considering it is 5 star . The rooms are also not very sound proof as I was woken up at 2am due to another couple. The free wifi had a limit of 24 hours even if you stayed for 3 nights, otherwise it would cost a bucket load.

Review 81:The location was very pretty, the rooms were very nice, small but cosey. Easy parking however it was all pebbles so you had to drive carefully.

Review 82:The wifi is a bit slow and unstable. Need to upgrade and and improve the network as we are all travellers and require wifi to contact family and friends.

Review 83:Beautiful location with high standard of cleanliness. Definitely recommend to others.

Review 84:The Parklland Lodges were advertised (even on Booking.com) as having a restaurant open. This was not the case, the restaurant was only open for breakfast, and we had to take a taxi (at $40 per night) to eat at the nearest restaurant for two nights. Not a very satisfactory arrangement when you pay $768 for a two night stay in one of the rooms.

Review 85:The location and the rooms were great. The staff were excellent.

Review 86:We celebrated my wife's birthday and the personalised service from Michelle was great.. We really appreciated the service and loved the fact it was so near the sites. Would definitely recommend

Review 87:Absolutely nothing at all!

Review 88:Everything! Beautiful grounds and surroundings. Fresh, crisp, clean air which made us feel like we had really escaped the daily grind of the city.

Review 89:The breakfast buffet was a little expensive for what was provided. The croissant I had was doughy in the middle. I'd go to Red Door cafe in Leura next time instead!

Review 90:Loved the day bed near the window and the fact that the upstairs studio room was enormous and obviously recently refurbished. The room was extremely comfortable and the tea and toiletries provided were excellent.

Review 91:No DVD player in the room

Review 92:Very peaceful well appointed room. the staff were excellent and very freindly. The food was great ! It made for a fantastic 23rd wedding anniversary. We will be back !

Review 93:Hard to get around with a pram due to gravel paths etc.

Review 94:It was big, modern and clean. Beautiful art on the walls, it felt safe, relaxing and peaceful. Would go again.

Review 95:I think it's quite expensive for what it is. Poor service at breakfast - especially when paying A$50 for two people. Checkout was slow; initially was overcharged for breakfasts we had not had; when asked for an invoice, printed a receipt instead. Staff were not so helpful at check-in - watched my wife and I unload all our bags from the car and walk in with them, only to then tell us that the cottage we would be staying in was 200m away meaning we needed to put everything back in the car and drive round. For c. 270 dollars (plus 50 for breakfast) per night, these things - although small - are very annoying.

Review 96:The buildings and location are wonderful, the park it is in is stunningly beautiful. The rooms are very nice, very large. Plenty of car parking space. Close to some great hiking. Very clean.

Review 97:The ducks! While the ducks are lovely their droppings around the water feature probably needed some attention (I know sounds picky right? :-) ... but that's it. Everything else was amazing.

Review 98:We loved everything about this place. It was quiet, well appointed with very attentive yet unobtrusive staff. Our overnight stay was very relaxing without the tourist walk-throughs that some of the other Blue mountains resorts can experience. A+. Will be back. A pool could be a nice addition.

Review 99:Inability to obtain printed information re group bookings, accommodation options.

Review 100:Space, tranquility and the luxurious standard of appointments made this a very enjoyable stay. We will return!

Review 101:Limited hanging space in wardrobe for more than overnight stays, (we stayed four nights).

Review 102:Location within walking distance of Blackheath. Very spacious accommodation, and well furnished. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast overlooking the garden was really good!

Review 103:Unbelieveable nice garden, spacious and comfortable studios and very friendly staff.

Review 104:The staff were wonderful and very professional. Lovely rooms. Peace - and beautiful breakfast in lovely surroundings

Review 105:Unable to use wifi inside room

Review 106:Quite place. Friendly staff Day spa

Review 107:Quality of the room, spacious and comfortable Staff were helpful.

Review 108:nice and quiet location, room is also very pleasant. spa-treatment was excellent

Review 109:Lovely room and grounds but no facilities which was disappointing for the price paid.

Review 110:The advertised fridge is of poor size and coolness!!.

Review 111:Friendly staff,beautiful surround.

Review 112:It was relaxed and inviting. Staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Lovely surroundings.

Review 113:Everything was fine.

Review 114:Great size room; lovely fireplace.

Review 115:Very quiet peaceful location with an air of tranquillity. Spotlessly clean, lovely accommodation. Free Wi-Fi

Review 116:Lovely surrounds, very comfortable room. Lovely breakfast!

Review 117:the lovely room and the gas -log fire, It was freezing cold when we arrived.

Review 118:Its only a small thing ... but get some nice coffee for the room.

Review 119:Garden area

Review 120:Low grade toilet paper

Review 121:Helpful staff, facilities very comfortable

Review 122:The rooms were great, the staff were great and it was just a great experience overall.

Review 123:Very nice and quiet place near to all in the Blue Mountains

Review 124:The size of the room with all the comfort

Review 125:The day spa wasnt free.

Review 126:Loved the studio room we had.

Review 127:Leaving!

Review 128:Staff unobtrusive but helpful, perfect location for a short (or long!) break and excellent value

Review 129:The staff were absolutely lovely and the breakfast room was such a nice place to start the day.
