The hotel is in, sorry, the centre ofAlagna: from the terrace (where you can relax and/or dine) youare overlooking what's going on in Alagna. Review 6：The Monterosa Hotel in Alagna is a wonderful place with great atmosphere. After a 10 day hike we arrived wet, cold and dirty, what a welcome reception we got. The Swedish owners started recently and a personal touch is clearly present. The interior design is a wonderful mixture of old and modern. Rooms are decent size, although you may find the showers a bit on the small size (but working like a charm, with lots of hot hot water). The large dining room is super. Partly filled with banks and chairs for a relaxing pre- or post dinner drink, the remainder filled with well-spaced tables. We had a good night rest and a wonderful breakfast the next day. Honesty and service of the staff and owners is unbelievable. Our travel companions had lost a wallet with cash money in it in their room. While driving back to Milano, they received a call that the wallet was found and what do with it. No money went missing and the hotel denied any suggestion of a finder’s fee. Where do you find such honesty? Absolutely great.
