Reviews for Tenuta Cusmano
Review 1:Everything was perfect, couldn't have been better.
Review 2:Everything. The host Mr. Cusmano extremely welcoming. He went out of his way to please us. Such a memorable and beautiful location. We travelled through Italy in different hotels but this was definitely one of the best in views, beauty and serenity. Thank you Mr. Cusmano for your wonderful self.
Review 3:Maurizio took nicely care of us during the breakfast, omelette has been served which is not common in Italy where there is a more sweet breakfast usual. Pool is very nice with enough sun beds
Review 4:Nothing to complain about. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
Review 5:Beautiful location and surroundings. Very attentive service. Great value for the price.
Review 6:The owner, Mr. Maurizio, is a fantastic person: a very kind, attentive and zealous gentleman who shows full dedication and commitment to his business. He will pamper you in any possible way from the begin to the end of your stay. The location and the property are stunning. A very quiet place immersed in the nature, quite close to Rome, with breathtaking view of the surroundings. Breakfast is excellent: omelets are freshly prepared, croissants are freshly baked and so on. We definitely recommend this property to anyone. We really hope to come back at the earliest opportunity.
Review 7:The place is a paradise. Wonderful Garden with pool, wide great view, a quiet place in a perfekt landscape. Ideal contrast after a sightseeing Day in urban Rome. And Maurizio the Chef is so nice and really Takes care to his guests with his warm heart.
Review 8:Having to leave!
Review 9:It is beautiful. Great location, though you do need a car. Panoramic views over the area from the terrace. Very comfortable bed. Excellent swimming pool. Owner/Manager is very enthusiastic and could not be more helpful. He looked after us very well.
Review 10:Stunning location with beautiful views, great facilities and Maurizio was exceedingly helpful. Pool area was great, gardens were lovely. Breakfast was good with fresh cooked options available to order. Perfect location for coming into Campiano airport! Walking distance to a selection of eateries in the village.
Review 11:made welcome from start to finish. like living in your own private villa. super breakfast, lovely views and an excellent swimming pool and tennis court.
Review 12:Everything was okay maybe a little overpriced compare to other agri-tourism hotels , also no restaurant.
Review 13:Lovely swimming pool great views and maurizzio couldn't do enough to help you. Good breakfast.
Review 14:Beds a little bit outworn
Review 15:Extremely friendly staff, wonderful garden and pool, very nice view on Rome 'from the top' at day but even better during night
Review 16:We had a wonderful time at Tenuta Cusmano! We stayed 5 nights and loved every minute! Grottaferrata is a lovely small town with lots of fantastic restaurants, and it was an easy 45 minute journey into central Rome. Maurizio is the best host you could ever meet! So friendly, helpful and enthusiastic! He serves fantastic breakfasts (delicious Nutella crepes and coffee!) and is always available for advice about the local area. He provides maps and explains how to get places, as well as recommending restaurants and things to see and do, always with a smile! I cannot fault Maurizio or Tenuta Cumano!! We will definitely return and will look forward to the wonderful pool, wine, breakfasts and exceptional service! Thank you!
Review 17:lovely B&B villa with panoramic views over the country side and a fabulous pool area. Maurizio, the owner, is extremely helpful and full of fun. He made our stay very special and goes out of his way to make sure you make the most of the restaurants in Grottaferrate and recommends scenic tours of the surrounding attractions. The room for 3 was very spacious(1 x large kingsize and a pullout single) with an enormous bathroom and a patio with fabulous rural views. The air conditioning was very good and the continental breakfast was lovely with Maurizio and helpers preparing omelettes, crepes and pancakes to order. We really did have a lovely stay and will certainly return.
Review 18:We had an excellent stay at Tenuta Cusmano. The host Maurizio is extremely helpful and kind. The kids loved the swimming pool and their nutella crepes at breakfast! It was easy to travel into Rome and we enjoyed some nice dinners and ice creams in nearby Frascati. We stayed for 5 nights but would not hesitate to stay longer in the future.
Review 19:Public transport to Ciampino airport not convenient, need to take a taxi.
Review 20:Very nice welcome from staff, as if you were at home. Clean and quiet place to stay during business trip in Roma, with swimming pool. Nice room with big terrasse. Huge breakfast! Good restaurants in small city nearby, 1,5-2 kms walking.
Review 21:Hard to find problems. Hotel is about a 30 minute walk to nearest town, but we got used to it in the end.
Review 22:I've stayed in various hotels in this area for over 5 years and the Tenuta Cusmano is easily the best place I've stayed at. Wonderful surroundings, nice garden, large and clean pool in a lovely location, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is much better than other local hotels. What puts this hotel way ahead of the competition is the customer service. Maurizio, the owner, really cares about his guests and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He gave useful advice about local area that we would not have known about. His other staff we met are just as friendly and helpful. Great place and good value for money. We look forward to returning.
Review 23:We loved everything, the quiet picturesque location, the room with a terrace as big as a ballroom and a view to dream of , a very comfortable room with everything you need and a star host in the person of Mauritzio who gives more than is expected and in a way that you leave feeling as if you have made a new friend.
Review 24:- rooms are a bit dark due to large terraces
Review 25:+ very calm atmosphere and great views from the hill + basic but clean rooms + nice town nearby with lots of restaurants (5 min drive) + swimming pool & tennis court
Review 26:This is an extremely beautiful property! The rooms are gracious and welcoming and very comfortable. We spent most of our time on our terrace which had views of Rome and Castle Gandolofo, the Pope's summer residence. The owner could not have been kinder or more helpful. And the wine was great!
Review 27:Excellent location (beautiful views); Caring, attentive staff; Great pool; Beautifully landscaped; Within hour of Rome airports; Excellent breakfast.
Review 28:The views were outstanding! The owner, Maurizio, is the kindest, nicest, and most pleasant man I have encountered in 60 years of traveling. A lovely place out of the hustle and bustle of Rome but still close by to easily visit. Maurizio guided us to a couple of local restaurants that had some of the best authentic Italian food we've ever tasted.
Review 29:Our stay in this beautiful part of Rome was an insight into the hospitality and generosity of spirit which Italy is currently demonstrating to the world. Maurizio is the host-with-the-most… charming, fun, helpful and with a clear mission to differentiate the villa from large, impersonal hotel chains. Grotto Ferrata/Frascati provides the fresh air, food, wine, villages, vistas, vineyards, lakes and mountains of the Italian countryside and is only a scenic 30 minute train ride to Rome Termini….[and the joys of MAX11and the Quartiere Coppide…!]
Review 30:That we couldn't stay longer!
Review 31:Beautiful villa close to Rome airports. Loved our large, attractive room with its wide porch overlooking gardens, pool and vineyards. Sat on our porch each evening while enjoying the Villa's excellent wine. Best breakfast we had in Italy with great coffee, freshly squeezed oj, yogurt, a variety of fruit, breads and homemade cake - as well as custom made eggs and crepes. Maurizio could not have been more charming or helpful, and directed us to local attractions and walkable restaurants where we had some of the best meals of our trip. We'll be back!
Review 32:We started day 1 of our 4 week vacation at Tenuta Cusmano. Flew in to Fiucimino, pick up rental car and after short 1 hr. drive we arrived at Cusmano villa for our first night. From the busy Autostrada to the very quiet country setting overlooking Rome, we were impressed!! .. and Tenuta Cusmano's delivery on all aspects during our stay was a 10/10. We were also very happy to have had chosen this villa for 2 other short stays during Sept., in between cross country trips. We will surely book for a longer stay on our next vacation in Italy!! Ginette & Claude
Review 33:Nothing
Review 34:My husband and I had a delightful stay here. Great hospitality and great views! Thank you Maurizio. You make everything perfect. We look forward to coming again.
Review 35:This place is magical, I highly recommend it! The views, the warming hotel, amazing gardens, the vineyard next to the hotel, the pool and the owner Maurizio, he is suh a character really funny and tries to make your stay as perfect as he can help. We went to europe for three weeks and booke this hotel the night before we got there it was one of the best places we stayed in our whole trip
Review 36:The setting was beautiful looking over the vineyards and Rome. We had a lovely balcony, beautiful room, superb breakfast and excellent service. We would definitely return next time we are in Rome and recommend Tenuta Cusmano to our friends.
Review 37:The only thing we can think of was the shower in the room which was a little small and needed updating i However, this would not stop us returning to this mavellous Villa.
Review 38:We have just visited the Tenuta Cusmano and had a wonderful two nights stay. Mauritzio the owner/manager was wonderful and could not be more helpful regarding places to visit and various information regarding this fabulous area outside Rome. The Villa was just lovely with the most wonderful panoramic views. The breakfast was very good with very attentive service. Our room was called Anna and was very good with a large comfortable bed the room opened on to a very large terrace overlooking the swimming pool with beautiful views. The swimming pool was large and looked very nice although we did not actual swim in it due to the weather not being quite hot enough for us to swim. We loved this place and would definitely return at some point.
Review 39:The room were o.k. Clean for sure but not that inviting.
Review 40:The owner. He is funny, caring, engaged .The grounds are beautiful and the breakfast generous. It is located near towns that are pleasant to visit and there are abundant restaurant to choose from.
Review 41:The receptionist can answer and solve any problem that anyone has, just ask him. 13 min by car from metro Anagnina to go to Rome in only 22 min. Breakfast is very good and you can order eggs , waffles coffee as many as you like and how you want it!!! The village close has good restaurants for evening.
Review 42:With the view of the city of Rome at a distance this place is unique in terms of location, picture perfect property, easy access to to so many sites & cities, yet so very quiet and very comfortable, and most of all the special personal attention to the customer given by "hands on" owner who takes pride in providing the best of services in the business. Ginette & Claude
Review 43:We could not find any fault with this accommodation.
Review 44:We spent two nights at Tenuta Cusmano after two weeks in Sorrento, and it was a perfect end to our holiday. Fantastic hospitality, great accommodation and fabulous restaurants within walking distance, all in a beautiful setting. We would recommend Tenuta Cusmano without hesitation and we will definitely be back.
Review 45:A room 'safe' (cassaforte) would have been useful.
Review 46:The location is an idyllic placing just outside Rome. Ideal for a quiet and relaxed holiday, the tenure is surrounded by lush gardens, and sports a welt kept swimming pool. Breakfast was optimum with also the choice of cooked eggs or crepes (which my son loved), hot croissant and cakes, further to the continental breakfast. Maurizio was a lovable host during all our stay, making sure that we enjoyed the holiday to the full. He also went out of his way to plan our trips inside and around Rome. Grottaferrata is also an ideal location for the good quality restaurants, which are only 5 minutes by car away.
Review 47:The owner, Maurizio, is extremely friendly. He loves his area and his country and you can feel it with all his recommendations and tips. Beautiful and comfortable house, great landscape.
Review 48:We stayed there the last weekend of August for a wedding. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. The pool is very well kept, as well as the grounds. It was nice to be able to actually use the pool- many hotels in that area have weddings at weekends and will restrict access to the pool. The cleaner did a wonderful job at cleaning and putting things away. The breakfast is lovely, really nice fresh croissants, a good choice of fresh fruit and cereal/ bread. Maurizio also cooks eggs order which is a bonus. The coffee is excellent as well. We slept well, the place is very quiet. Towels are good quality and the rooms have a nice terrace with beautiful views. They do provide towels for the pool which is very handy. there is no iron in the room, but they kindly ironed my husband's shirt before we went to the wedding.
Review 49:Absolutely nothing.
Review 50:We stayed for 5 nights in an apartment with a kitchenette as a family of four. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Clean and comfortable, and we had views to die for. Maurizio could not have been more helpful and was always so happy and friendly. We had great day trip and restaurant recommendations, and felt at home straight away. The pool was amazing and spotless. We we're so sad to leave and move on to another hotel but will definitely be back. All the amazing reviews about Tenuta cusmano are true, it was a real shame we could not have stayed longer.
Review 51:Friendly service. Maurizio went out of his way to help us and advise on travel routes, restaurants etc. Beautiful garden. Breathtaking views. Excellent facilities, pool, tennis court etc. Huge choice at breakfast inc cooked breakfast if you wanted. Very closer to Rome.
Review 52:We had to leave after a short stay
Review 53:The warm Management and hotel team. Ideal place to stay and tour around. Perfect combination of modern services in perfect setup. Very clean and comfortable.
Review 54:Nothing. We loved everything about it.
Review 55:Tenuta Cusmano is situated in the southern foothills of Rome with magnificent views east towards the Med. Comfortable rooms, private terraces, a beautiful swimming pool, ample breakfasts and Maurizio - always available to give you tips and look after your every need - make this the place to be away from the heat and frantic pace of Rome.
Review 56:The bed/sleep was rather uncomfortable, beds are hard, thin mattress and a bit to short for me beeing 2M tall. The rooms are noisy (due to the wooden uncovered hallway floors, thin walls and noisy doors). There is no 24hr staff, so if you would need something after hours you would need to call someone.
Review 57:The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the pool looks lovely, we did not have a chance to use it though, the views are very nice. Breakfast is good.
Review 58:Great views, good spacious accommodation and good host in Maurizio the owner. Located far enough away from Airport as first stop on our break but still relatively short journey by car to keep travelling down. Grounds and pool were beautifully maintained.
Review 59:The warm welcome from our host was lovely and very informative. We had a large, very nicely furnished room and a huge terrace with wonderful views over Rome and the surrounding hills. The swimming pool was delightful, though the weather wasn't good enough for us to use it while we were there. We stayed there at the end of a trip to Umbria and le marche, and it was a great spot for its proximity to the airport but in such a peaceful place. Plenty of good restaurants within walking distance too.
Review 60:A beautiful relaxing stay in the italian countryside. The owner is a wonderful host and you feel like a welcome member of his family. I don't hesitate to recommend this location especially for those city people who need some peace and quiet. Tranquility itself. Incredible gardens and pine trees. Hire a car and visit Grottaferratas splendid Abbey and restaurants. Go!
Review 61:Friendly feedback suggestions for Maurizo: Stock the bar fridge with more drinks, nuts etc for late night snacks. Would be great to have a short tour of the vineyard and winery as family history is interesting. Corridor is dark. Update to room swipe cards rather than all those keys.
Review 62:Friendly, clean and well presented accommodation with stunning pool and vineyard outlook. Helpful with fabulous restaurant recommendations. Although difficult to find initially, very conveniently located just a few minutes between Marino and Frascati.
Review 63:The accommodations, the location, the grounds and amenities, the view and best of all Maurizio and his staff make the whole experience memorable whether your stay is short or long. We hope to return some day.

Review 92:nothing
Review 93:staff pool location grounds
Review 94:Everything was wonderful. You would have to look hard to find a more perfect host than Maurizio, he is a lovely man as is Antonio who also works there. The hotel is immaculate, breakfasts filling with a good selection of breads, fruit, meat and cheese. Fresh towels and toiletries every day. Beautiful and exceptionally clean pool, and the views over countryside to Roma were superb.
Review 95:The only thing that could be improved upon (if it can be) was the free WiFi which was a bit flakey.
Review 96:Maurizio the owner is wonderful - the best owner/host I've encountered in all my travels. It's worth going just to encounter such a fantastic level of care. The location is fabulous, the room was massive, the bathroom bigger than many hotel rooms and the people were lovely.
Review 97:we enjoy the hotel very much . very comfort / the staff was polite and we ask to leave after more an houer and it was o'k.the maneger was a very kind man.
Review 98:The weather!!
Review 99:Extremely friendly welcome by the owner, even though we were early as the weather was so bad. Given complimentary coffee and cake whilst he made sure our room was ready, which it was. Owner extremely helpful in planning routes and places for us to visit and making restaurant recommendations and bookings. Room a little small but with lovely terrace with fantastic view. Comfy and very clean, good en-suite with great shower. Lovely breakfast and so nice to be offered freshly cooked eggs. Excellent stay and it was just a pity the weather was so wet that we couldn't use the pool.
Review 100:It´s a beuatifull construction with a umbeliveble landscape. The breakfast is very good, the best I took. And the team is very polite and helpful. The onwer Mrs. Mauricio is a Lord and always helpping us with booking restaurants, taxi and giving suggestions of points to turism. It is very good located and the pictures dont show the real, It is much better !! I will be back, for sure !
Review 101:This is a perfect place to stay in a beautiful setting. A pity we had only booked one night. Maurizio is a great host and we would go back just for his enthusiastic welcome.
Review 102:Nothing to dislike
Review 103:It was like staying in your own personal villa with wonderful views over Rome. Very comfortable with friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. Their own wine is a bonus and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel
Review 104:Within the stunning surrondings of Grottaferrata hills, Tenuta Cusmano is a perfect place to enjoy the Castelli Romani area and Rome. Luxury rooms, outstanding services (wifi, pool, beautiful gardens) and a breakfast which offers high quality local product. Definetly a place to be recommended!
