Reviews for Park Hotel Villa Grazioli
Review 1:When we checked in they had us in the wrong room. It was an ordeal! The restaurant and bar was closed the whole time we were there.
Review 2:The location was great. The grounds were very beautiful. The breakfast was very good. We had our dog and it was a great place to walk him around the grounds and the staff was very friendly about us having the dog.
Review 3:the fact that we downgraded the room as we we are smokers and we had to pay the same tariff as the deluxe was not very nice. Breakfast was rather lame.
Review 4:The room was lovely and next to the garden. there's a free shuttle service to Frascati every hour. A Prosecco bottle was offered to us upon arrival. the service at the restaurant was exceptionally wonderful. our room was clean and spacious! The hotel itself was decorated with beautiful frescoes.
Review 5:It would be immensely helpful to have directions, mentioning FRASCATI - from which the hotel is so easily accessible, but which does not appear in the address.
Review 6:Arriving!
Review 7:No Wifi in my room (#80). Impossible to get an invoice when checking out. It was supposed to be emailed to me 2 days ago. I have already called twice and it is still not arrived :-(
Review 8:Beautiful park. Very quiet place and wonderful view on Rome
Review 9:The private road entry can be easily missed, and is in a poor state of repair, but this is a minor issue because staying at Villa Grazioli is such a special experience.
Review 10:Grand building with many public rooms and intimate dining areas. Very helpful staff. Although this is a wedding venue, its spacious facilities and grounds, and gracious ambience allow for peace and quiet for private guests.
Review 11:You need to take taxi's to get there, really removed from town although there is a limited shuttle bus service. Wifi does not work. There was only one staff member covering the bar and the restaurant. We waited 20 minutes to be served drinks and gave up trying to order a 2nd round. I would go to see the beautiful building but not worth staying any longer than one night
Review 12:Breakfast is nice, decor incredible.
Review 13:No wifi in our quarters, even though there was a wireless router right outside our door. It's probably been out of order for a while and should have been fix by now. Cleanliness of the rooms could have been a bit better. The sink in our room was clogged and the bath, as well as the room in general, could do with a thorough scrub down.
Review 14:Great place, near Frascati, which is an amazing, Italian town. Excellent and very helpful staff!
Review 15:The hotel, at first, seamed quite old, poorly keeped.
Review 16:The staff are very welcoming, especially at the restaurant that really deserves a visit. Food is great, the covert was the bast we had after 1 month in Italy. the palace is stunning, the contact with nature is great. Very much recomended.
Review 17:No shuttle bus between 1pm and 5pm. We arrived back from Rome at 2.30pm and had to get a taxi which in Frascati is a ordeal in itself as the ranks are always empty. Sunbeds need replacing as most were falling apart and there was not enough of them. Breakfast needs more choice as it was the same every day. Toast would be nice as well as boiled eggs for a change. Also tea making facilities in the room would be a plus. Having to look for staff for bar service. Over the years this has not really improved. Shower not working very well and had to use the hand held one all week.
Review 18:I had emailed at the time of booking and asked for the terrace rooms as my friends had been allocated them last year and they were brilliant. On arrival we were given these rooms next door to each other which made the holiday even better. This was a nice surprise. Rooms were spotless, air conditioned and beds were very comfortable and couldn't fault it. Had a great sleep every night. We have been coming to Grazioli for 7 years now and wouldn't go anywhere else despite some some of the standards dropping slightly over the years. This hotel is in an idyllic setting and fantastic hotel steeped in history. You leave feeling totally relaxed and I guarantee you will want to return year after year which we intend to do next year again.
Review 19:Grazioli suffers from trying to provide hotel facilities while maintaining its heritage. The expansive interconnecting rooms are beautiful to visit but not great for spending time in. The dining room on the lower floor is nicely decorated but a bit gloomy. We dined outside in the "hanging garden" and felt sorry for the staff who walked long distances from the kitchen to serve us, sometimes carrying one plate at a time! We stayed in the "stables" where the accommodation was good - but not special. The kids enjoyed the underground interconnecting passage - from house to stables. Perhaps staying in the main building is a more holistic experience?
Review 20:It is a beautiful building with great views. The restaurant is good. Staff are friendly. The pool is good, though surprisingly located a short walk along the road from the hotel, in a separate site.
Review 21:The pool opening hours (10am-6.30pm) are too restrictive in the summer months. Would have liked it to open earlier and close later (we especially thought 6.30pm was too early when still so warm and sunny). There were an inadequate number of pool lounges/chairs around the pool area, when we arrived at 10.15 am all were taken and many people missed out. The wifi was inadequate and unreliable. We had room 93 and 91 and there was no wifi in the room or outside in the garden. We had to walk close to the hotel to get any signal, and even when getting signal, the service would cut in and out.
Review 22:The setting of the hotel is beautiful and the staff were very nice and helpful. We don't drink dairy milk so we were very happy that soy milk was available for breakfast. We loved that the check out time was 11:30. Overall we really loved our stay and would definitely return.
Review 23:There was a wedding reception taking place. Therefore we could not enjoy the grounds of the hotel. Wifi was available but only in very few areas of hotel. No wifiin in your bedroom.
Review 24:Great location, especially with its close proximity to the airport, with amazing views over Rome. Stunning historic building. Staff extremely friendly. Great toiletries.
Review 25:They didn't let us to park the car in front of the hotel in order to take the luggage, despite the fact there is a place. We should to park the car a 100 m far from the reception and take the luggage in hands.
Review 26:Visitors should find out if a wedding will be going on. Dining room closed both nights. No place to sit for a drink and see the view. Party went on until 3 am. Loud and noisy in the annex rooms. Kinda disappointing.
Review 27:All the staffs are not friendly at all especially Priscilla, she was not friendly and it seemed that I made trouble for her if I asked her 'any' question. More, the train of 10:34a.m. (from Frascati to Rome) on the morning will need to change another train when it arrived in Station Ciampino, it is so funny that the staffs in this hotel didn't know! Really bad experience! Poor service! Actually, I called them to book their tranfer mini bus at night, but the driver was not polite and disappeared twist!!! That was my bad experience when I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights.
Review 28:The room is really big because the hotel is really very far away from Rome. The bathtub is very comfotable. The price is cheap because of the low season period.
Review 29:The breakfast was adequate but not memorable. The restaurant was excellent but expensive. We were considering getting married here but the banqueting manager consistently failed to contact us. Poor.
Review 30:The hotel was beautifully located, very friendly staff, superb view from our window. Quiet and calm. We had two wonderful meals in the evening in the restaurant.
Review 31:Wifi was a bit sqiffy. No tea or coffee facilities in room and no where to get coffee during day only at meal times. Couldn't use tv as was "out of season".
Review 32:The view was amazing. The whole place was amazing - perfect for friends wedding we attended there. Nice size towels. Breakfast was lovely but had to be there early to get any thing hot. Staff friendly and helpful. Free shuttle to town was really handy.
Review 33:Standard rooms are located in outhouses on villa's territory. Breakfast is not included in standard-rate.
Review 34:Historical museum-like villa where medieval atmosphere is easy to feel. Nice garden and over-average view on Rome.
Review 35:Free shuttle runs to a strict timetable. Hotel does not appear to have a deal/arrangement with a local taxi firm, so if you need to travel to Frascati outside of the timetable you have to pay a lot of money for a short 5-10 minute trip.
Review 36:The Hotel, regardless of whether you are in the main building or the annexes, is on lovely ground with superb views. It is always great to be here. Although the menu for the restaurant is limited and expensive the food was good. Waiter service was brilliant (both friendly and helpful).
Review 37:The wifi was slow and kept loosing connection. Not a big deal in my mind.
Review 38:Room, bed, sleep comfort, view from room, staff (every single one I met, including the elevator repair guy and the maid), breakfast, decoration, choice of colours, furniture, park, building, cleanliness. Essentially everything. A true sanctuary for the tired traveller.
Review 39:It was difficult to find. Better directions should be provided. We were in the annexe with a smaller room than we had expected, but it was comfortable.
Review 40:We liked the old fading grandeur. It has a wonderful breakfast room. The view over Frascati is tremendous. A stately palace with lovely paintings on the ceilngs and walls that was a treat to stay in.
Review 41:What an incredible hotel! Everyone who helped us was so friendly. Sara made phone calls to Alitalia on my behalf regarding lost luggage. Our waiter was so much fun, so conversational & so friendly. The food was excellent. We will definitely return.
Review 42:beds were soft and sagging, booking.com was not clear about the location of my room, the property is in dire need of a renovation - villa bedrooms are spacious but bathrooms from the 60's, restaurant is overpriced
Review 43:location, lovely historic building, views of rome, renovated bathroom
Review 44:We expected the drive to Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino airport to be quicker, but it's at least 1.25 hours away in heavy ring road traffic no matter what time of day. This is not their fault, but part of the unreliable nature of Google maps. If you have an early morning flight out and don't want to rush, this may not be the place for you. Otherwise it's great.
Review 45:This is an unbelievably beautiful old villa set on gorgeous grounds. Every member of the staff was extremely helpful. The on-site restaurant is a bit pricey (hey, it's Rome), but very capable and it's great to have something available without driving. The rooms, while not palatial are just fine, and at 150 Euro a night with breakfast, it's well priced. Overall, it's a wonderful place.
Review 46:when we arrived in the pouring rain with our luggage at the front of the hotel we were immediately told to move our car no mirror in bedroom
Review 47:The wonderful wall paintings, lovely dining room, and excellent head waiter
Review 48:We have visited many times.Still no tea/coffee facility in the room. This is such a shame.Although the daily cleaning staff carry out an excellent job, there is no getting over the fact the rooms are now seriously in need of a coat of paint both in the bedrooms of the main hotel and those in the annexe.
Review 49:Staff on the whole are friendly and helpful, although many we had become accustomed to, having visited a number of times, have now left. The friendliness of the original staff were a huge reason for our revisiting this historic setting. They made us feel so very welcome.
Review 50:Amazing building with a lot of history. The view over Rome is great. Good breakfast, and well appointed rooms. It's probably not the best idea for a base for exploring Rome, but it's easy and convenient to do so if you wish. We spent a day exploring Castello Gandolfo, which is not far. This hotel has some amazing sitting rooms for reading and relaxing.
Review 51:Broken bath furnishings. No tea/coffee making facility in room. Rooms require decoration as they are not simply rustic but very worn out.
Review 52:Friendly yet professional approach of the staff, especially Priscilla who is highly efficient, on reception, and Warren who drives the Shuttle to the station. Peaceful, totally relaxing setting, with such easy access to Rome, Milan, and Sienna. A perfect break.
Review 53:We stayed in the annex and would have liked a kettle in the room to make tea and coffee.
Review 54:Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Beautiful building. Courtesy bus to and from local train station.
Review 55:Wi-fi is not free
Review 56:Fantastic historical building, beautiful park, swimming pool in lovely green setting, good buffet breakfast, quiet spot, with open view
Review 57:Lack of sun beds, only 10 for over 80 residents. Also the air conditioning is turned off during the night so extremely hot.
Review 58:The location and the pool area
Review 59:Didn't like way shower was positioned in centre of bath as caused water to spill everywhere making floor very slippery. Would have liked to have safe in room rather than main office.
Review 60:Amazing location. Beautiful garden and pool. Great to have shuttle service to take you back and forth to Frascati.
Review 61:"Usual" Italian breakfast...
Review 62:Beautiful Location, Gorgeous "villa" Great!
Review 63:Can use some maintenance on doors and bath fixtures
Review 64:beautiful, historic location. Classy antique style
Review 65:The place is beautiful Food was gorgeous Great staff at the bar and restaurant
Review 66:The ambience, the history and the location to Frascati and Grottaferrata were excellent.
Review 67:The place looks amazing. The grounds are wonderful and the art work and look of the main building is fabulous.
Review 68:Wifi did not work
Review 69:Very quiet. I slept like a stone
Review 70:The tranquility, beautifully action and the way it makes you feel special.
Review 71:An amazing place !! Historic setting with all the comforts
Review 72:What a wonderful place to stay - the paintings in the villa are enchanting, the view superb, the food superb too and the rooms very comfortable
Review 73:Poor breakfast and it was not enough, half hour before closure of breakfast time tables were empty
Review 74:Beautiful main building
Review 75:Noisy guests
Review 76:The location
Review 77:Restaurant pricey, food average,
Review 78:Wonderful views, tranquil, plenty of quiet public rooms to relax in, restaurant staff friendly and attentive.
Review 79:Buildding needs conservation.
Review 80:The room is excellent, bed and bathroom also. It´s amazing to stay at a palace, full of history.
Review 81:very bad internet connection air condition doesn't work properly
Review 82:location price
Review 83:wifi was tricky, difficult access
Review 84:Beautiful surroundings, lovely rooms, traditional, villa salons
Review 85:Nothing !
Review 86:Amazing restaurant and a tranquil place to stay.
Review 87:nothing to dislike
Review 88:everything, the food , rooms so clean, staff very friendly, the pool and the grounds of the villa.
Review 89:paying for internet (10€ 24h)
Review 90:The restaurant was great!
Review 91:The view and grounds are beautiful. Dinner overlooking the valley was wonderful. It's a great getaway after Rome.
Review 92:The road up to the hotel - more like a lane that needed some serious upkeep.
Review 93:The dinner at the hotel restaurant was excellent Peaceful location with a great view, elevator in the sleeping area we stayed in - split away from the main Hotel Dining room staff very friendly and attentative
Review 94:What is there not to like about a 16th century Cardinal's palace overlooking Rome ?
Review 95:Fabulous view, friendly and very helpful staff, wonderful food for breakfast and dinners. Incredible building and setting.
Review 96:Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been really nice when we got back late at night and the bar was closed.
Review 97:Beautiful building with loads of character in a lovely setting. Staff very helpful and spoke excellent English. Free shuttle into Frascati made this hotel a really good 'away from it all' place to stay when visiting Rome. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Review 98:Unclean rooms, unclean communal areas, extremely rude reception staff and a dismissive wedding planner. Not the way to treat a couple who are looking to book a wedding.
Review 99:The driveway into the property
Review 100:Breakfast was average but abundant: frankly you could expect much better standards in a Small Luxury Hotel and please at breakfast one waitress is really unsufficient for 62 rooms when she has also to take care of cleaning the adiacent banqueting room used the night before. It seems the place needs a better management and a bit of investment to get back to his splendor
Review 101:The hotel has a fantastic location overlooking Rome valley very close to Frascati village and to Villa Aldobrandini. We booked a very special offer with a very low rate and we really appreciated our stay. Front desk staffa at check in and check out have been very kind and informative. Our room was at ground floor in one of the two dependance (Limonaia): it was very clean and very well equipped. Bathroom was first class with a very large shower with colour lights. . Any way Very good value for money.(€ 90,00 per room breakfast inclusive.
Review 102:Room we had was noisy and near main entrance road. Staff worked in areas outside the room early in morning and were very noisy!
Review 103:Beautiful hotel, geourgeous grounds and location
Review 104:outrageously expensive wifi; US-style shower without a hand shower; sticky shower curtain; no heating; complicated TV set (Sky); room not in the main building; breakfast served in a corridor without windows; no activity in the impressive mansion halls (e.g. bar service etc.)...
Review 105:friendly staff; view or Rome; grass lawn; impressive setting.
Review 106:you need a good map to find the place initially.
Review 107:nice romantic place to stay close to Rome. Frascoli is a small city with many good restaurants. Very nice pool area. There is 3 buildings . We did not stay in the Villa itself but in the building next to it and it was very nice.
Review 108:Restaurant menu was too expensive for a family.
Review 109:Beautiful, historical villa. Elegant and relaxing gardens. Interior was very interesting. Pool area good, though Bar expensive.
Review 110:the fact that I didnt book longer here
Review 111:this is as beautiful a hotel as it looks the annex rooms are a great budget option whilst you can still indulge in the opulance of your surroundings the veiws are amazing and the location brilliant 5 minutes by car into Frascati 30 minutes by train into Rome a true gem
Review 112:Costs for drinks in bar swimming poole / piscine are too high.
Review 113:A very special place, luxurious but still informal. Beautiful interieur in the main house, very nice staff, food is excellent, lovely swimming pool. Very nice place to visit Rome in daytime and then come back in the afternoon and relax.
Review 114:Furnishings are a little tired, but given the price, this is not a big deterrent.
Review 115:Extraordinary historic villa with outstanding views and location vis a vis Rome (outside but with the possibility of travelling into Rome by shuttle/train). Takes you out of the chaos of Rome into a peaceful, magnificent setting. Rates are extremely reasonable. Food is lovely if you want to eat on site.
Review 116:very basic room. Every morning all the detritus from the evening before still on the lawns outside the main building. Dining and relaxation areas for the guests all without a view. The reception rooms with a view being reserved for special events.
Review 117:Beautiful main building, friendly and helpful staff. Lovely pool although not open yet.
Review 118:The only negative side is that they still charge internet when also MacDolnalds provide it for free.
Review 119:The location is fantastic, an old "castle" well kept and very close to Frascati, 5 minutes by car, but in the middle of the green part. Easy parking, good breakfast, good room size, etc
Review 120:Facilities were limited and use of main hotel could be better used thannumerous lounges. Pool though not in use yet, was very inconvenient torooms as was outside grounds. Restaurant very expensive.
Review 121:Location was quiet and beautiful with lovely views.
Review 122:You can’t stay too long in Rome because of no late trains availability to Frascati (last is approx. 20:00).
Review 123:Hotel has impressive castle interior surrounded by beautiful park. It is bit aside of the city, but good to relax after noisy day in Rome. Hotel is providing free of charge connection to nearest railway station in Frascati (driving and picking up according to train schedule). Good restaurant inside the hotel. Rooms are very clean and serviced daily. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the travelers who like to have relaxing stay nearby Rome.
Review 124:- Hotel restaurant too expensive for what you get (there are great places downtown Frascati!!!) - Noisy entrance door of the hotel annex.
Review 125:Location, staff, room (with a big terrace!), lots of parking space, big park around the hotel
Review 126:history of the hotel. loved the experience to live in an old mansion. cost very little to enjoy such luxury.
Review 127:No hot water for shower in the evening. water piping clogged and staff could not help. I do not know how other guests in the hotel dealt with that...
Review 128:The only thing i would say is that the food (albeit fantastic) was on the expensive side and the lunch menu was too heavy. They should perhaps offer a cheaper and lighter lunch menu.
Review 129:The service and the food was fantastic.
Review 130:Breakfast, while hotel was full, was not always furnished with all usualdishes and there were some fights to get last items on some plates...The minibar in the room was never re-filled, and sometimes the room wasnot furnished with the right amount of blankets after being prepared inthe morning.
Review 131:Very friendly staff, quiet room even with air conditioning working, fantastic set-up and surroundings, central location (for CastelliRomani), excellent restaurant (but a bit pricey).
Review 132:The park hotel is not really a 4 star hotel as no safe can be found inthe room (which is very important for me). Rooms are small, thebreakfast buffet is poor and there are very few personnel on site.Nobody took my luggage to the room (I had to do it myself - it was apain to carry it to the annex). In conclusion it is overrated. In addition the whole building needs renovation and it looks like it is neglected. It is sad as the building is a very nice historic palace.
Review 133:The park hotel is an amazing 16th century building with a a beautifulgarden and pool. It is located in the countryside, only 30 minutes awayfrom rome.
Review 134:The location, staff and food - absolutely fabulous. I cannot praise thdvilla snd staff enough. From complimentary shuttle to and from Frascati, beautiful rooms, stunningly clean, huge buffet breakfasts - thehighlight of the kids' stay(teenagers!) as well as the stunning swimmingpool. All together in a grand Italian villa. We will be back.
Review 135:Fantastic hotel, a very grand and historic villa which I would expect to pay admission for in the uk, A great base for Rome trips, hotel provides free shuttle service to train station and train takes around 20 minutes to reach Rome termini. In summer months Rome becomes unbearably hot and stuffy so travel to and from villa grazioli is perfect with the cool breeze and outdoor pool. Feels very exclusive and A list.
