Reviews for Hotel Atlantico

Review 1:The metal head board was detached and banged on the wall with every movement which was a bit annoying.

Review 2:I stayed in the off season (first week in Nov)I experienced very friendly staff, excellent facilities for the price. No issues with the free wifi. I would definitely go back again

Review 3:nothing

Review 4:On arrival they offered me a glass of water as being 4 months pregnant - this was lovely. Lovely indoor swimming pool in the hotel and use of an outdoor swimming pool about 1 min walk from hotel. Location was 5 - 10 walk from train station and also the beach, but please note there are about 70 steps down to the beach. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh orange juice, staff super helpful, kind and considerate and carried our bags to our room. Bedroom lovely with private balcony and bathroom included double shower. We hope to return in a few years once our new arrival has been born!!

Review 5:Very pleasant hotel. No clear information about the hotel, services etc in English. Very confusing breakfast arrangement re numbered tables ? Breakfast highly concentrated on sweet items cakes etc. Coffee Machine a nightmare. The swimming pool and lounges very pleasant indeed

Review 6:I did not like the fact that I booked this hotel, received confirmation of the booking, and then the day before the start of our family holiday (8 people) I was informed that the hotel was not able to honour the booking... Unreliable

Review 7:The "opportunity" not to visit such an unreliable establishment

Review 8:Nice little hotel with very good location. The balcony was a real plus! There was an issue with my room and I was given a new room within 15 minutes, everything was handled very well by the staff.

Review 9:The indoor pool was a real treat for the younger ones in our group. The rooms with terraces were super. We were there for a family wedding and the staff bore kindlily with our needs and all the popping in and out during the day.

Review 10:Some of the gadgets in the spa did not work. But it did not really matter. We did not have any problems to park, but it is true it was not high season and there were not many people.

Review 11:we really enjoyed our stay there. Close to the beach.

Review 12:Nothing!

Review 13:We had a wonderful sunny balcony with proper dining table and loungers. The indoor spa pool which is wonderfully warm was a delight. The town has lots of restaurants and a classy feel.

Review 14:Very very friendly and helpful staff! very good breakfasts! The magic nature!the magical smell of pine trees!!! beautiful scenery around Atlantico hotel!near (approximately 100m)a great beach and very clean sea!We hope to be back here again!!!

Review 15:Nothing- Castiglioncello is on the list to return to and a stay at Hotel Atlantico.

Review 16:Hotel Atlantico was brilliant- from the moment we arrived, the reception was great, walked us around the hotel and to our room- The room had a huge balcony with big pine trees shading over it. The rooms were spotless, very comfortable bed and then the breakfast was great. Fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, lots of cakes(dessert more than breakfast) and eggs on request. Short walk to a great beach and to the town square with some good bars and restaraunts. On checking out we were allowed leave our car for a few hours and walk around the town. Great hotel and service all round. Castiglioncello is worth the visit.

Review 17:All of it - the welcome, the friendliness, the room, the balcony, the use of two swimming pools, the convenience of the location (close to sea and shops/bars/railway station), tranquillity, breakfast adequate and you could ask for an omelette, dining room.... Really good value for money!

Review 18:Nothing

Review 19:Elegant and clean hotel. Lovely indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Very nice breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh ground coffee and delicious pastries.

Review 27:Breakfast was a nightmare. Staff not welcoming, food not an experience.

Review 28:Room was very warm; ventilation couldn't cope.

Review 29:Location, staff

Review 30:No complaints

Review 31:Room on top floor, lovely balcony and view

Review 32:Warm welcome, amazingly preserved property. marble, public space was beautiful, balcony on the first floor is worth the extra money.

Review 33:Ideal location for Tuscany coast, beaches nearby and with indoor swimming pool. Great for the kids.

Review 34:Beds very uncimfortable and room very small for three people

Review 35:Friendly helpful staff and fabulous meals

Review 36:Staff very good, nonna was wonderfull

Review 37:swimming pool under the hotel night acces by card nonon at recption after 11PM

Review 38:Room was pretty small.

Review 39:Pool, balcony. Close to Pisa.

Review 40:staff were good but difficult to find

Review 41:That is very nice family hotel! staff was very friedly and helpful. Breakfast is great!

Review 42:The pool was wonderful but two of us ended up with swimmers ear infections, not sure if it was related but it is suspicious.

Review 43:Breakfast was great!

Review 44:Nothing.

Review 45:This place was amazing. The owner (a sweet elderly lady) made sure breakfast was perfect each day. We enjoyed relaxing there. If you are looking for a Tuscan, seaside town getaway that isn't crowded, this is the place.

Review 46:Loved this hotel. Pretty room. Very clean and comfortable. Boutique style hotel. The staff were friendly and ver helpful. Felt thoroughly spoilt using the gorgeous spa pool and facilities. Beach and town were a couple of minutes walk away. Lots of good restaurants to chose from in Cadtglioncello. The breakfast at the hotel was wonderful. Eggs to order. Freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly brewed coffee on tap as well as a huge variety of pastries, croissants, cheese, meat, cereal yogurts etc. - Lovely!

Review 47:Well located in Castiglioncello within short distance to nice restaurants (La Stazione//In Gargotta) and the beach but the area is quiet. Good breakfast, clean pool and good rooms with international TV and Wifi.

Review 48:The hotel rooms are a bit dated and old fashioned and could use a bit of an upgrade. The same goes for the bathrooms, especially the showers because they don't really work unless you hold the shower head in place. Apart from that it was a great place.

Review 49:We booked this hotel for the indoor pool and we were not disappointed. What a great place for children! The staff were very kind and helpful and showed us how to get places; they called around to 8 wineries in the region until they were able to get us a booking; they were all very helpful & kind. The breakfast was good and overall we had a great time.

Review 50:We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Atlantico!!!It has the air of vintage seaside glamour, with plenty of modern comfort and very welcoming proprietors to offer guests a relaxing and satisfying stay.It was exactly what we were looking for and we can't wait to come back...and stay longer!! :-)The hotel staff were kind and very helpful, and the location was so convenient- just a few (5-ish) minutes walk straight down the main road from the train station and the pine tree park, on a pretty side street right off the main thoroughfare of shops, bars, and restaurants. Everything was so close and convenient! The beach was a quick and pleasant walk through a quiet residential neighbourhood, and the castle and museum were also only 5 minutes away. There was a heated indoor pool, which was an unexpected treat, especially as we visited in the spring, when it was too cold to put more than our feet in the ocean. We were able to have a luxuriously warm swim, followed by a glass of chilled birthday champagne by the pool, which made us feel like glamourous movie stars from the golden age of Hollywood! ;-)The rooms were simply furnished but very clean and perfectly comfortable, with touches of elegance in the curtains, shutters, and balconies. We actually had two balconies with seating and potted plants, which added to the feel of holiday glamour! :-)It was great to have good wifi service in the rooms, and the mini fridge was also a very welcome amenity (to chill the champagne!;-) Having a lift was really helpful, as one of us was recovering from an ankle injury, which made any stairs a challenge.Breakfast was a bountiful buffet, comprising an assortment of breads, toast, jams, cakes, pastries, cheese, ham, fruit, yoghurt, and freshly squeezed orange juice ( which was 'to die for'!) ! The various hot drinks were dispensed from a highly-efficient machine, which seemed to do its job well.

Review 51:Very Friendly Staff. The swimming pool was fantastic and as it was low season we were the only people in the pool. Breakfast was fantastic with loads of pastries, meats and also freshly cooked omelettes.

Review 52:Very friendly and helpful family run hotel. They went out of their wayto help us plan our bicycle route and get our clothes washed and dried. The breakfast was the best we have had anywhere along the way in Italywith fresh squeezed orangejuice and eggs to order.

Review 53:Outdoor pool was a disappointment.

Review 54:Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Short walk to a lovely beach and good restaurants. Indoor pool/spa was nice and relaxing.

Review 55:- Old Air conditioning system very inefficient and noisy - No hot water after 9 pm - WiFi is not reliable, most of the time the acquisition of IP address is impossible whatever the device.

Review 56:- Beautiful swimming pools - Friendly staff - Home-made cakes at breakfast - Terrace

Review 57:The reception staff do not appear to be well-trained in hotel management and personel skills. They are very young and inexperienced in knowing how to treat guests. There is no mini bar or safe in the villa rooms but this may be because they want to keep the 'old world' charm of the place. The rooms and bathrooms are small.

Review 58:I stayed in the converted villa part of the hotel, which is separate from the main hotel and has a nicely-styled outdoor pool area set in a nice well-maintained garden with flowers and trees. The hallway and public rooms of the villa are lovely, furnished with taste and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is in the main hotel and is an excellent continental style buffet with lots of choice of different types of cakes and good quality food. The other guests in the villa were generally middle-aged, quiet and respectful, or small families. Everything is very clean and there is a nice, tranquil atmosphere.

Review 59:We had to fight to get two sheets (one for each of us) - but I quess, that's quite normal in Italy ;-) !

Review 60:Ein sehr nettes, kleines Hotel mit ausgesucht freundlichem Personal, günstig gelegen. A very nice, small hotel, with exceptionally friendly personnell, in a good location for days on the beach of the Tyrrenean sea and visits to the sights of Tuscany. (The noise from the train might be disturbing to someone very sensible, but the vicinity of it is very useful!)

Review 61:Great hotel, very accommodating staff. Gorgeous boutique style bedrooms with great facilities, wi-fi, flat screen tv, balcony. Lovely indoor pool. Within 30 second walk of restaurants and shops.

Review 62:The rooms are comfortable, but are a little worn in places.

Review 63:Beautiful town with lovely green parks, mountains and beaches. Rare to find all this in one place! The Atlantico was a really lovely hotel with a great indoor pool! The children wanted to swim at least twice every day! The owners/staff are super friendly and the breakfast is fantastic!

Review 64:The outdoor pool was off sight

Review 65:The hotel was obviously family run and was a delight. Everyone was extremely helpful, the rooms very well appointed and the food excellent.

Review 66:This is our 3rd trip to Castiglioncello, but the first time we stay in Hotel Atlantico. This Hotel is elegant and beautiful. Tastefully decorated and very welcoming. There is an amazing indoor pool. The staff couldn't be more warm and gracious. Located a very short walk from the beach, restaurants, shops, cafes, post office, and train station. Our order of importance for a vacation place is the people, food, ambiance and location. Luxury and service at a budget friendly price. Hotel Atlantico has it all. We will be back.

Review 67:Staff was amazing. Giovanni was a great host, willing to help with EVERYTHING. Check on trains, tickets willing to assist with all! Hope to make it back sometime!

Review 68:No

Review 69:Gorgeous hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good location. Stylish and clean. Nice view. Delicious breakfasts. Beach nearby. Everyone loved it! Recommend to all.

Review 70:We have been very warmly welcome by the owner family upon arrival, moreover, our car has been parked for us and the luggaged transfered to our room. We enjoyed relaxing atmosphere created by wonderfull greenery and space on the terrase from our room, where we walked in the morning breathing in the scent of old pine trees. A lot of love put into the beautiful design of the rooms and the whole hotel area made us feel very comfortable. Another highlight was a lovely sweeming pool with a "tropical rain" installation. It was very toning after our travel.

Review 71:Out of season the hotel only does breakfast, but there are good restaurants in the village very close by, we soon found our favourite - In Gargotta da Francesco

Review 72:Our week's stay was out of season, some days of sunshine when we could enjoy the beach, on wet days the indoor pool, which we had to ourselves, was a great success. Trains to Florence and Pisa run from the nearby station and we had two busy days of culture.

Review 73:Excelent support from the very friendly staff. Great location, close to the beach and also possible to easyli access the ways to nice cities in Toscana (like Pisa, Volterra, San Gigminano, Bolgheri, etc.). Internal swimming pool is fantastic for kids during cold or raining days.

Review 74:We liked the warm welcome in this hotel - the people at reception were helpful about parking our car and general information about the town. Breakfast was good and very generous. We had a charming little terrace and a bright spacious and comfortable room. Even a bath! Our first and only one during our stay at 5 similarly priced hotels over 10 days. We enjoyed the warm pool and the location was lovely. The little town has a charming old-fashioned feel about it and made a nice change from the many hill-top towns and villages in the area we were visiting. The nearby beaches looked enticing, although it was October, possibly a little late for us to take the plunge into the sea.

Review 75:We love everything!!!! This is a small cozy hotel, very nice and clean.Good location, close to restaurants, shops, sea and train stationExcellent service!!! The owners are more than helpful. They made ourstay!!! You should go there!

Review 76:The location of the hotel is great and the staff is very friendly and very helpful. The pool that is available in the next door villa for hotel guests is lovely and good for relaxation. The breakfast is nothing special, but the choice of sweets was extraordinary. I recommend this hotel to anybody that goes to Castiglioncello and would like to be in the centre and in very close distance from restaurants and bars.

Review 77:Breakfast is ok, but could have been better. The family room is small and old, would gain with some renovation.

Review 78:Good location, close to the beach and very close to the town centre, but still in a quiet location. Nice, relaxed little town with lots of resturants and shops. Indor swimming pool. Friendly staff. Family room with big terracy.

Review 79:no complaints at all

Review 80:brilliant hotel and excellent value for the money. beautifully laid out, extremely comfortable, and great leisure facilities. especially enjoyed the indoor pool and the outdoor seating areas - a real feeling of luxury!

Review 81:Stylish building in good location. Breakfast good. Restaurant not fully operational in evening. Grounds of hotel very good place to relax. Staff quite casual but very friendly and helpful.

Review 82:There were a lot of mosquitoes (although this is not unique to the hotel itself).

Review 83:The staffs were extremely friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was nice. The omelette and fresh orange juice served during the breakfast was excellent!

Review 84:In a very convenient location for sight seeing in Tuscany whilst being both relaxing with all amenities. Staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help you. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms were spotless clean. We have had a fabulous holiday!

Review 85:lovely room with large balcony single bed larger than usual great view of the coast, fab location by shops and restaurants Friendly and helpful staff

Review 86:Have just returned from Hotel Atlantico in the beautiful town/village ofCastiglioncello. Absolutely brilliant hotel, the staff are reallyfriendly and go out of their way to help you, the hotel is beautifulespecially the seperate part of the hotel that contains the outdoorpool. Breakfast at the hotel cannot be faulted, the selection was goodwith the added option of omelettes freshly cooked. We ate out many timesin Castiglioncello and by far the best meal was at the hotel, 25 Eurofor 3 courses and worth every penny. Already looking to book a returnvisit later on this year.

Review 87:Not a criticism of the hotel, but there is a large, unattractiveindustrial complex about 2km south of the town. However, you cannot seeit, from the hotel, local shops/restaurants or the nice beach just northof the hotel.

Review 88:Nice hotel in a quiet street - villas and hotels surrounded by largetrees. Our room had a shady balcony with table and chairs. Close to agood beach. Friendly staff, excellent pool and shady free parking area.Shops and restaurants within 200 metres.

Review 89:In need at new electrics and aircon units

Review 90:Friendly helpfull staff. Great location, quiet and peaceful.

Review 91:The hard (stone) beds.

Review 92:Nice staff and the old Lady. The terass and Balcony in sun direction.

Review 93:Excellent hotel very near to the beach. The staff were very helpful and the facilities were very good. We enjoyed our stay.

Review 94:Friendly service

Review 95:Fantastic staff and location close to b oth the beaches and vilage centre of Castiglianocello

Review 96:bathroom facilities not up to date

Review 97:Swimming pool, quiet, good location, good welcome from staff

Review 98:Our greeting at reception was warm and friendly. The swimming pool is a delight.

Review 99:Nice hotel but felt we did not get best rooms avaliable and we were putin a different building from our son which was not ideal

Review 100:The staff, the swimming pool, the lobby, the location.
