Reviews for Ga'aton Motel
Review 1:We arrived before the 8pm time set on the booking to find everything closed up for night. We had to make a roaming calll on our mobile phone to a number that bookings.com supplied.and then. Someone came back.complaining that we were late which was not true. We then found that had already charged my cc for the night and after a while admitted that they left early to see a sick family member. Things happen but they could have at least left a greeting note and keys with room number rather than just charged my cc then closed and left and then accused us of arriving late when we finally managed to rouse then. When we finally got in it was a very small room with 3 very basic single beds.
Review 2:Good location and quiet
Review 3:small rooms, noise from corridors (poor sound insulation by door), can see shower through bedroom (weird glass wall between shower and room)
Review 4:affordable, close to beach, clean
Review 5:Excellent, personalized service. We were a family of two adults and three children aged 3-11. Excellent value for money. Great homemade cookies. Very clean rooms. Excellent location. You can't find a better place to stay in Nahariya!
Review 6:This hotel was fantastic. Centrally located on the main road of Nahariya. I cannot praise the owner/manager and staff enough. Anything I needed was provided and I was made to feel like family. The rooms were clean and all facilities that are needed for a stay were provided. I really cannot like this hotel enough. I would definitely stay there again
Review 7:The accommodation was clean and neat and included a refrigerator, electric kettle and access to a kitchen with a microwave. The owner was very friendly and accommodating and I certainly plan to return in the future and would recommend this hotel to others.
Review 8:The owner was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel felt safe (all the other guests I saw were single women too...) The room was small, but spotlessly clean, everything worked (air conditioning was cold, water was hot, drain flowed just fine, kettle was faster than mine at home, it had TV, fridge and working window locks in my ground floor room) Not a resort hotel where you want to spend your time relaxing, but if you have things to do in Nahariya and just need a bed and shower then this is a great place.
Review 9:We were there by car, so we would welcame easier parking. We knew in advance that parking is on the street in public zones, so we expected it.
Review 10:Clean, new looking, air condition able to heat in the cold time, coffee and tee in room. Polite and nice Manager. Under the hotel is wonderful restaurant, with very good kitchen, professional and nice personnel and reasonable prices. It is not easy to find in the town clasical restaurant. The diner there was unforgettable.
Review 11:The beds were very hard, and the WiFi didn't quite reach the room (we were at the end of the corridor)
Review 12:The guy was brilliant! We were given flowers for the room when we checked in, he showed us how everything worked in the room and was really friendly. The room was a good size for three adults for the night. Shower was good. It doesn't look much from the outside but we had a good stay.
Review 13:I had to leave early on my morning of departure to catch a train at 9.27am. Although checkout from 7.00am to 11.00am, when I left the hotel at around 8.50am, there was no-one around. Left room key in door. Felt bad not being able to say bye bye to Moti.
Review 14:Fridge and kettle in room, tea, coffee, mineral water (2 litre bottles), toiletries. Moti, the owner/manager very friendly and helpful. Fresh flowers to welcome me to room. Restaurant on premises - good food. Reasonable cost.
Review 15:Moti the manager is wonderful, helpful and really wants to please..its not about luxury its about being in the a place that is neat an clean and serves a place to lay your head after a great day...and you know its clean and safe...
Review 16:No breakfast served at hotel.
Review 17:Rate was very reasonable. Location along the "river" is very good with easy access to many restaurants. Rooms were small but comfortable enough. Staff was very helpful
Review 18:The owner was very lovely and friendly and helpful. Also the location was great! Super close to everything, including the beach! Would certainly use again!
Review 19:The shower/toilet room became really dirty very quickly as there wasn't a good drainage system from the shower so water went everywhere and bath mats weren't supplied.
Review 20:Basic family accommodation. The rooms were spotless. Not luxurious but adequate.
Review 21:Limited possibilities in-house if you have time to spare and just want to sit and relax, say read a book or watch the sunset.
Review 22:+ Location + Cleanliness + Service: Owner took care of me way beyond what I would expect at a hotel
Review 23:Everything was good.
Review 24:The owner was very nice and helpful. It is very close to the beach and promenade. It is near lots of restaurants. The facility is clean.
Review 25:+ Hotel Manager is very nice and friendly and helpful if we had some questions + Hotel is next to the beach (just 2 min. walk) + Kitchen with tables and chairs is available on the floor and useable for everybody + good W-Lan :) i can really recommend this hotel
Review 26:Newly renovated, very clean excellent location very close to the beach and the promenade
Review 27:Wir were pampered - like mom, sorry: dad!!! Thanks Morty!!! ;-) להתראות
Review 28:Moti is a wonderful host and hotel is in great location to beach and Nahariyya restaurants and shops.
Review 29:Mattress too hard. No shower barrier to block water. Had to squeegee floor.
Review 30:Friendly helpful owner.great location.
Review 31:the owner is very kind
Review 32:Great service! Really comfortable place and environment
Review 33:Hôtel on down town,clean,
Review 34:Kitchen cupboards had very little provided
Review 35:Advice and friendliness of owner
Review 36:The owner, his friend Ronny and the restaurant
Review 37:No parking
Review 38:Friendly, nice location
Review 39:Personal care
Review 40:Great location, great staff
Review 41:Sound travels easily here and it gets quite noisy at times with people talking in the hallways or adjacent rooms. Although it is a good value, I wouldn't recommend it for families with children.
Review 42:Nahariya is the undiscovered gem of Israel. The Ga'aton Hotel is for the sincere traveler who can do without breakfast, phones, bathtubs, elevators, daily room cleanings, concierge service or 24-hour onsite management. It is more like renting a room than staying in a hotel, which is exactly what I wanted since I'd gone to Nahariya to rest and relax. The hotel's location is excellent, just one block from the beach. Moti and his wife, Batya, were robustly gracious hosts, greeting me at check-in with fresh flowers and cookies. They promptly provided anything needed -- towels, soap, water, toilet paper, etc. They even loaned the use of a cell phone so I could be in touch with friends locally.
Review 43:the family room was extremely small for 4 people. we stayed 2 nights and the room was not cleaned the second day. We paid 205 USD per night and the priced seemed very high (probably because it was Passover week end).
Review 44:the hotel is very well located (near the beach restaurants parks for kids etc) and very clean. staff is friendly.
Review 45:A bit noisy during the night, but we've been unlucky with neighborhood: a family with barbarous children. Breakfast not included but they've got a discount in a restaurant next to the motel.
Review 46:Staff very friendly. They helped us even after check in time and provided us flowers and cookies! Strategic position by the sea on the main Boulevard. Good price for Israel.
Review 47:We guested in the hotel last week. All was wonderful, very nice room, clean and comfortable. Hotel location is very convenient, in the center of the city and 5 min from the sea. Unbelievable hotel owner, friendly and kind. We spent unforgettable days and feel very thankful to this beautiful place.
Review 48:There was really nothing I didn't like.
Review 49:The location could not be better, especially considering the price. It is right across the street from the beach and within easy waking distance of many excellent restaurants and shopping. Moty, the proprietor, could not be more friendly, helpful, and caring about your comfort. He is more than willing to go out of his way to provide a helping hand, simple guidance, or surprise you with little acts of kindness.
Review 50:Our stay here was WONDERFUL! We slept here for two nights during a stop in Nahariya towards the end of a trip throughout Israel. The hotel is small and cozy and conveniently located right by the beach and the main area of restaurants/shops. The best part was definitely the manager Moty- he was so accommodating and always checked in to make sure we were doing well...would bring us cookies, water, wine, extra towels, etc! Such a lovely man, we were very happy to support his business. Definitely recommended if you're just looking for a clean, convenient place to sleep in the area without breaking the bank.
Review 51:Above the location and facilities, the owner was sympathic and was taking care for every need we had and even more. This is a place we will go back and recommand it. It is a nice and verry quiet hotel alltough it is situated on the main street. Dany and Carine
Review 52:My only gripe was the see-through shower partitions in the bedrooms! I mean, the wall between the shower and the bedroom, was translucent, which might not be bad if you were a couple staying in a double room, (I was alone in a double room) - but my two straight, female friends, in a twin room next door, were unwillingly treated to the sight of each other showering, necessitating the polite aversion of their eyes when the other was in the shower! Can't a shower curtain be put inside the showers? x That's my only gripe about this otherwise excellent establishment.
Review 53:I liked everything about it! Especially the caring, attentive, truly kind attitude of Motti, the manager. His service was perfect and even though he closed reception after about 8pm and went home (which is why technically it is a "motel" since it is unstaffed some of the time, and offers no breakfast), he made it absolutely clear that we could call him if there was any emergency, and he was so completely caring, welcoming me with tea and biscuits, phoning his sister specially for me to get tourist information for visiting Akko the next day, etc.And excellent standards of comfort, cleanliness, everything. Thanks! I'd definitely recommend it. x
Review 54:The shower had a glass back to it which was a bit dodgy. A bit of paint would improve it greatly.
Review 55:This is a nice clean friendly motel located right near the beach. Exactly what we were looking for.
Review 56:The bed sheet underlayer was a plastic that made a plastic noise and does not breathe and I slept too hot.
Review 57:Very easy to find and good location with nearby parking. The manager Moti very helpful and provided us with an apartment space at no extra charge. Facilities were good and good value for the price.
Review 58:First impression wasn't the best - you have to walk down an alleyway to get to the entrance, then up a flight of stairs to get to the office. Not to worry, though - the place is very well kept and serviceable.
Review 59:The extraordinarily helpful and welcoming Moti in the office. Lots of good local suggestions, hooked us up with a great breakfast locale (with discount!). Willing to come in early the next day if we needed him, provided plates and utensils for us, gave us several room options - really tried to be as flexible and accommodating as humanly possible.
Review 60:service was stupendous, excellent, wonderful, extremely helpful, in every way. They made phone calls for me in hebrew, drew me maps, explained where to go who to speak to. looked up info on the computer for me, gave me anything I asked for.
Review 61:a little noisy outside but all part of the atmoshere
Review 62:the manager - monty was fantastic and so helpful. what the hotel did not have he made up for it in many ways and even drove us to the train station.
Review 63:Not a thing.
Review 64:Moti, the owner, was incredibly accomodating, so, so helpful! The place is very, very clean and neat. The room, though tiny was bright and comfy with TV, coffee/teapot and supplies. Lovely sea breeze through the window if you want, but also air conditioning. Nice adjustable height showerhead is on a removable hose for rinsing off sand from beach visits. The beach is so close! The location is very convenient for shopping, eating, everything, and not far from the train station at all. Everything is compact but efficient in the space. We enjoyed Moti so much, we will come back for his excellent hospitality as much as the amazing proximity to the beachfront and very clean room. Anything we needed he provided and more. When we needed a late train to Haifa, he even stayed late to wait and then drove us to the train station himself! We had a wonderful, wonderful stay. By the way, Nahariyya is a charming place, and the beach is clean and beautiful. There is a very diverse and extensive shopping district right up the street from the Ga'aton, as well as places to change money and a range of restaurants and little cafes. Moti directed us to a very good place to eat a very easy walk from the motel.
Review 65:Small rooms. To less place for the hanging clothes.
Review 66:Hotel is next to the sea. Many nice shops and many kosher restaurants. Parking is free and nearby. We were alowed to use the kitchen.
Review 67:Exactly what I asked for: clean basic accommodations in a good location for a reasonable price. The extra was the very helpful staff which kept clean, freshly laundered towels available and even gave us flowers to spruce up the place on arrival. The manager helped us with everything personally, like guests in his own home.
Review 68:The staff is really friendly and you will feel completely at home here.We were upgraded upon arrival to the deluxe room (free of charge), justbecause the room was available (and the owner thought it would be awaste not to let someone enjoy that room), we received a lot of tips forAcre (Akko), it is a good place for exploring Haifa and Galilee, and thehotel is walking distance from the beach. We actually forgot somethingin our room and had no more time to pick it up during our trip, and thehotel offered to send it free of charge to our home address in Holland. So, a good place, value for money and good service.
Review 69:Had to ask for new towels and room clean up. Walk up a flight with luggage.
Review 70:Very good location. Can walk to beach and all Services. Plenty of parking within walking distance. Proprietor very helpful.
Review 71:I personally found the bed to be a little hard. Also, the only accesswas by stairs-not wheelchair accessible.
Review 72:The manager was amazing and really made me feel at home. The room wasneat and clean and had some homey touches (fresh flowers, small bedsiderug). Also, there were in-room facilities like a hot water kettle andsmall fridge, a table & chairs, cable tv and personalbathroom/shower. The bedding was also cozy. The place was so close tothe beach but also near shopping and transportation.
Review 73:The warm hospitality of Moti the owner. The location near the and on the main boulevard, close to everything, the restaurants, pubs and the shops.
Review 74:Missing Blankets
Review 75:Blankets too thin,
Review 76:Cleanliness, hospitality, amenities
Review 77:we were glad for precious advice of the owner
Review 78:In this category of prizes, it is undoubtly the best possible choice, and I will certainly recommand it when asked where to stay in Nahariya.
