Reviews for Doric Bed

Review 1:The decor of the sheets are a bit dated and there is not much privacy if u stay on the ground floor . If u open up the shutters for the air and view, u will have no privacy. If u close the shutters. U will have no view.

Review 2:The property is very beautiful complete with a pool , the common areas are very nicely furnished. and the view of the temple was nice. The breakfast was very nice and variety is wide

Review 3:Location, quiet, near Doric temples.Very friendly and helpful staff. Roberta was very welcoming and helpful in sourcing somewhere to eat - even guided us there and ordered for us on her way home. She also assisted us with car entry into the archeological park as one of our party was using a wheelchair.

Review 4:Location is a little far from centre and not easy reachable if you don't have a car.

Review 5:Rich and typical products breakfast, view on the temple's valley and swimming pool, staff.

Review 6:The staff were lovely. The facilities were very nice and clean and we were so close to the Valley of the Temples we could see them! It was an amazing place to stay for just one night when we were just going to the ruins. I would highly recommend it to anyone going there.

Review 7:Rather small rooms, but still very comfortable The design of rooms is unusual Insects in the pool, my husband was bitten by one. However we used the pool in November after the dawn, so no problems!)

Review 8:Breakfast made with love! The balcony overlooking the Junona Temple! The B&B is perfert to stay if you travel by car! They send detailed instructions, so you won't be lost!

Review 9:Great B&B. A little out of the way but nice view of the ruins. Lovely pool, very nice staff, great dinner. Our room was on the small side but still comfortable and very clean.

Review 10:Good location, the hotel has a distant view of Hera's Temple, close the Valley of the Temples We had the Cadillac suite, a big room with a large wrap around balcony. the room has a mini kitchen, we went to Conards supermarket in Agregento & bought a picnic dinner. It was lovely eating on our large, private balcony. Nice to eat "at home" for a change.

Review 11:Nothing

Review 12:Laying next to pool with our well done drinks and having fun of the great view of the temple, the nature, the sea inside the sweet garden while watching the sunset next to a palm tree. Besides that the room was very nice and watching the fullmoon in our balcony was amazing. The host was very sweet and kind. We loved her. This will be the place where we will stay if one day we visit Agrigento again. Special thanks for the delicious apple cake

Review 13:Although it was very useful to have the restaurant in the hotel after a long day's driving and sightseeing, the food was ok, but nothing special. Good wine though! The rooms are a bit damp which maybe explains the mosquitos. Mosquito screens would be good.

Review 14:Modern, clean, small hotel. Excellent breakfast with wide choice of local and international food. Amazing pancakes. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Roberta. Although it's in the middle of nowhere, it's well signposted and easy to find. Also, less than 10 min drive to the temples. Great balconies with sea and temple views! Nice pool area, though we didn't use it.

Review 15:Slight issue with damp in the rooms and the chairs in the balcony were a little short to get the full view at sunset. Both very minor points that shouldn't put anybody off...

Review 16:Wonderful views, a light building close to the main tourist attractions with excellent staff who were very friendly.

Review 17:All good

Review 18:Roberta is superb so welcoming, friendly and helpful. UK people this is not not B&B as you know it. It is a boutique hotel with excellent facilities and brilliant "front of house".

Review 19:Roberta the manageress welcomed us in a friendly , professional manner. She is bright & enthusiastic about her job, and speaks excellent English. We had an imaginatively decorated room, small, but with a wonderful view towards the sea, and the Temple of Juno. Breakfast was generous and varied. Staff delightful. Of 4 meals eaten 3 were excellent, one average, but maybe that was personal taste.

Review 20:The staff was unbelievably helpful in straightening out a car rental problem for me. Even without a need for special assistance I would have loved this place for the pool, comfortable room, and view of the temples. The kitchen also turns out delicious dishes. It's not in the old town but for me that was a plus. There's parking and it's easy to find.

Review 21:Quite difficult to find, the better thing to do is to use coordinates given by Booking in the GPS. Road construction complicates the way. Very bad experience at the restaurant for dinner. Very rude attention from the waitress, to whom we complied for food bad cooked. She even forgot to bring a glass of wine that we've ordered, and when she did, was such a poor quantity that seemed a joke. But it wasn't, as it was charged full price in our account. No apologies from anybody at the restaurant. I advice not to eat there!!!

Review 22:It is a very new and modern B&B. Very well decorated, (but should be a table or desk in the room) with views of The Temples from everywhere. Very warm welcome from Roberta, who speaks very good spanish as well. She is the main feature of this place!. Thank you Roberta for all your kindness and thoughtful attention. Good breakfast.

Review 23:It would be better if they put GPS coordinates on their website, because it can be tricky to find on the first instance.

Review 24:After our last trip to Doric Bed 2 years ago, we felt it was a must for our trip with our parents this year. The location is great for sightseeing and the good food at the hotel means that we can enjoy our wine without having to worry about driving back. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially on this trip where we had a number of specific issues. If we return to Agrigento, we will definitely be booking with Doric Bed, again.

Review 25:A little bit hard to find, nowhere to go in the evening

Review 26:The view - on the ruins of the temple, great on the sunset, the food - local restaurant was great

Review 27:Waterproblems in bathroom. Leakage of toilet. No resolving after reparing. Shower has no good drainage so a flood of water in the shower. Noisy rooms.

Review 28:Delighted kitchen, excellent breakfast, very nice staff. Lovely garden with swimmingpool. Cosy atmosphere.

Review 29:Very noisy fridge in room and strange sounds from plumbing; bedside lights which didn't lend themselves to reading (red and low!); need to drive to eat in evenings unless eat dinner in. NB motorways being re-built nearby so makes finding quite interesting!!

Review 30:Excellent views over distant temples; great pool with views; home made things for breakfast (including tiramisu one day!)

Review 31:Everything was great, starting by the warm welcome by their professional staff (Gracias, Roberta, esperamos que puedas cumplir todos tus sueños) The amazing pool area, the astonishing views at sunset, the room, the dinner... Highly recommended. Marga and Oscar from Barcelona, 25.09.2015

Review 32:The Doric has very contemporary decoration and themed rooms. However, they need to pay more attention to basic maintenance. We had two rooms. One of the bedroom walls was stained and had evidence of damp coming through from the shower in the next room. In our room the aircon control didn't work, but we were able to borrow one from the next room. In that room the control worked but the aircon zidovudine not work. The shower head was faulty and the water just trickled out of one corner. The refrigerator in out room was really noisy and we had to unplug it to get to sleep.

Review 33:Very freindly staff. The location overlooking the Temple of Juno and the sea was very nice. The breakfast was all home made and delicious. The evening meal was great

Review 34:The place is new but the bathroom facilities need fixing.

Review 35:New little hotel away from the city but with a great view if the Greek temple. Service was very friendly and the dinner was very good and affordable. It has a wonderful pool to relax after a day of walking at the valley of the temples.

Review 36:On a hill with a stunning view. Infinity pool was amazing. Close to Valle dei templi. Breakfast was very ample in choices. Rooms are big and clean. Dunner was OK.

Review 37:There was a slight sewer smell present in out room. As we were only there for one night we didn't mind but if we were staying longer it would be an slight concern. The pool looks lovely but on closer inspection I'm not sure how it clean it is.

Review 38:Views are spectacular! We stayed for one night to visit the Valley of the Temples and the location was excellent. We did have a car which made it easier- not sure about location if a car wasn't available as it was off the track a little. Staff were very accommodating and lovely.

Review 39:Nothing to dislike but a small improvement could be to put all the little pieces of information scattered on the table in the room into a folder. Include times of restaurant, check-out times.

Review 40:Breakfast was excellent. Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Large suite with terrace. Easy to get into Agrigento. Swimming pool with a view of the sea and Temple.

Review 41:As being almost perfect place to stay there was a couple of small things to notice: no trash can in the room or in the garden. Would also be nice to have some place to dry towels after swim...

Review 42:Great small B&B on a beautiful location. Nice room, pool, terrace area. Amazing view over the Valley of Gods to the sea. Good destination if you like to visit nearby cities (Agrigento we liked a lot), seaside villages or attractions. Good food and so nice staff!

Review 43:Liked everything! If anything, rooms quite small and view of pool in property photos makes it look much bigger than reality.

Review 44:Stunning location for views and ease of access. Helpful staff and lovely breakfast

Review 45:Great location, with an even better view. Very close to the Temple Valley. Very good food, and breakfast was excellent. The pool is fantastic and great to relax at the end of the day.

Review 46:The room is very little and the bathroom need quicly one full restauration. But is clean.

Review 47:Good location with very nice staf. The breakfast was realy rich for Italy including home made products. The view of the Valley of Temples is amaising. Free parking is a benefit for visitors. Is at max 10 km to Agrigento.

Review 48:Not enough space to store clothes. Shower room/toilet quite cramped.

Review 49:Excellent location. Highly professional and helpful receptionist. Nice swimming pool. Good dinners and breakfast. Nice room and balcony.

Review 50:We could bot fund this b&b with the gps It took almost half an hourto find this Location. The adress.

Review 51:Vriendelijk Lekker eten Prachtig uitzicht

Review 52:Everything...especially the kindness of staff and the overall design of the property. You can lay in the pool while you stare at the temples in the background

Review 53:Nothing at all!

Review 54:I spent only 1 night at Doric B&B but it was enough to enjoy all the comforts and the professional/kind assistance of the staff! The location is amazing as from your room you can be delighted by admiring the beauty of the temples valley!!! And you start dreaming from there on!!! The breakfast offers a wide range of food and of course delicious Sicilian specialities, like the cannolo with ricotta and different homemade cheese with toasted sliced bread with local olive oil!!! 10/15mins far from the stunning Scala dei Turchi!!! Enjoy

Review 55:We had to change our room because the toilet was faulty. Also on one evening we couldn't eat at the hotel because of a special event. Because the hotel is very isolated we had to drive a long way to get a meal and we got stuck in a very bad traffic jam.

Review 56:The view of the Temple if Hera.

Review 57:The location was brilliant with spectacular views. The room was spacious with a magnificent balcony and everything we needed. The staff were excellent and assisted us with quality tourist information.

Review 58:The gardeners were a little too busy cutting the grass when we arrived to use the pool but thats a small point in an otherwise fantastic little hotel.

Review 59:Lovely staff. View over Junos temple. Food was fabulous including the home made cakes. Pool available.

Review 60:5 km around Doric bed you cannot find anything (shops, bars...), which is not bad if you are trying to relax like we did.

Review 61:Everything. The view from the balcony is outstanding. Dinner was great. Good location if you are coming by car and for visiting Valley of the Temples.

Review 62:A separate bedside lamp would be helpful.

Review 63:Friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, easy to get to Temples early in the morning, a good time to see them. Good pool. View of the Temple of Hera on the hill opposite.

Review 64:- first time in Italy we got instant coffee and a cold one on top of it, would be better they simply say they don't have a coffee :) - tiny shower stall but seems to be standard in Italy

Review 65:- great view on the valley and the Temple of Juno - can see Doric Bed from Valle dei Templi as well - look for the white house on the hill - has restaurant, food is ok - swimming pool, walking area, gated area and parking

Review 66:Nothing - Wish we could of stayed longer!!

Review 67:This B&B is located in very peaceful and tranquil surroundings close to the city center of Agrigento. The rooms were large and very modern with a lovely balcony overlooking the swimming pool and with the most amazing view of the Temples! We travelled to Argigento from Malta and unfortunately for us our catamaran from Sicily to Malta was brought forward so we had to leave this B&B in the early hours of the morning. The lady who runs this B&B woke up and prepared us breakfast, tea and coffee at 5am in the morning! Fantastic service - and the owner is so sweet and caring - Thank you very much - we will certainly be returning in the future :)

Review 68:Very poor sound isolation you can hear everything from the neighboring rooms. So so breakfast. Difficult to find.

Review 69:Nice location with view on the temples and the sea.

Review 70:Our only complaint was that in our kids' adjoining room, the shower curtain did not reach the floor and allowed water to escape the shower, making the bathroom quite wet until it could be cleaned. Walls maybe a bit thin for sound transmission between rooms but not a big problem.

Review 71:Doric Bed was an unusual place in that it was beautifully decorated with themed rooms in a very modern style, yet had distant views of ancient Greek temples. The whole establishment was very well cared for and clean. The staff was helpful and the breakfasts very thoughtfully presented with tasteful selection and great coffee.

Review 72:The breakfast was very basic and the wifi a bit poor, however the rest was amazing.

Review 73:The view of the temple was amazing. The room was modern, clean, and overlooking the view. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It is slightly hard to find the place using the address however staff gave us the GPS co ordinates before hand and we arrived straight to the door.

Review 74:Doric Bed is modern, small, view is fantastic - you see the Valley of the Temples and the sea. Located just outside Agriggento, it is very close to the Valley of the Temple, and it is a perfect choice, as the city itself is difficult with a car. There is ample parking. There is a great veranda and a pool. Breakfast was great. The staff are very accommodating.

Review 75:Everything!

Review 76:The staff and location cannot be beat! View of the temple from our balcony was perfect. We stayed in the Pink Cadillac room as all rooms have themes. Electricity and Internet went out in the middle of the night but did come back on sometime later. Slept with the balcony door open so the breeze was refreshing.

Review 77:It is quite difficult to find the hotel, ever with GPS because of the work in the road. They say that they offer meals, but there is just breakfast and dinner, so if you decide to spend a day at the pool, watching the beautiful view, buy something in town before because there is nothing close to the hotel.

Review 78:The view of the hotel is wonderful. Because it is off city you can see the temples from the pool. Very nice staff. Bad mood owner.

Review 79:Scrambled eggs not cooked to order for breakfast...left on buffet table so they are cold when you arrive for breakfast Suite room has kitchenette but has no table or chairs on terrace or in bedroom to facilitate eating Fridge in room seemed to motorise itself during the night had to be turned down to stop noise

Review 80:Contemporary boutique vibe to accommodation Very good food on dinner menu....great value for money Friendly helpful staff Lovely views over countryside....retreat feel

Review 81:Food is not the quite the same high standard of the building and surroundings.

Review 82:Amazing sunset view of valley of the Temples. Dinner and breakfast with great view also bedroom balcony. Nice touch given some olive oil on leaving.

Review 83:Not a single thing at all - everything was perfect!

Review 84:Can't think of a better place to stay in Agrigento! The view to the ancient site and the sea was breath-taking!

Review 85:Our room had a strange smell. Almost mildew? Probably rooms need to be aired out a little.

Review 86:Fantastic location and staff were very helpful. So amazing to be able to look out at the temples from the pool.

Review 87:The view on the temples, especially in the evening, is amazing! A stylish quiet comfortable hotel, clean, with peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff. Good breakfast and possibility to have lunch or dinner.

Review 88:The shower cabin had an opening at the bottom and the bathroom was inundated every time one took a shower. The breakfast could have been a lot better. They had pancakes but no syrup (they offered honey instead, which doesn't work), very overcooked scrambled eggs, no natural fruit juices, so-so coffee.

Review 89:The room with balcony and a spectacular view, the nice big and firm bed, the pool, the outdoor eating area, the location, the staff and the friendly reception.

Review 90:The shower room was very compact (I'm a large woman)

Review 91:Friendliness of the staff, little extras at the pool side. Fantastic evening meals. Magical setting with the temple lit up at night.

Review 92:The annoying blue light in the room kept me awake as it was far too bright and unnecessary.

Review 93:Excellent location, food and view. The staff were very helpful and friendly - would definitely stay again on our next visit to the area.

Review 94:Only its first year of opening so the gardens need time to mature. The BBQ was closed.

Review 95:We were lucky enough to have the biggest balcony so very spoiling. The pool is open 24/7 so you can swim at twilight. The view over the Valley of Temples is lovely. The receptionist spoke English and nothing was too much trouble!!!

Review 96:Nothing.

Review 97:The location of Doric Bed Hotel is perfect. Just next to the Vallee of Temples..It s a quiet, clean and welcoming hotel. In addition of all this we eat very well in this hotel.. I would recommend it to everyone.

Review 98:As it is quite isolated we had dinner alfresco every evening. Food excellent, wine well priced. Lovely swimming pool, gorgeous views, accommodating staff, especially Viviana. Gift of olive oil on departure, very nice touch.

Review 99:I liked it all,

Review 100:Clean, quiet, modern, friendly, comfortable, and helpful staff and a really good kitchen that cancels out the fact that it's slightly away from town. Even so, you can see the temple of Juno as you eat, and it isn't far to the Valley of Temples.

Review 101:several very bright blue lights that couldn't be turned off or covered during night inside room. Very distracting when you are trying to fall asleep.

Review 102:Decor was nice, bathroom was clean, food was great tasting with fair pricing.

Review 103:Excellent small Hotel (new, modern, well decorated, clean, great restaurant etc.). Fantastic Staff including the owner! Amazing View to one of the temples from both rooms and infinity Pool! Great location to the Valley of Temples, Agrigento center and 15 min. drive to Scalle dei Turchi... Highly recommended!

Review 104:The shower was tiny, I'm a small woman and could barely fit, so my 6ft 2 partner really struggled. Sound-proofing is poor, you can hear everything in the other rooms, even conversation.

Review 105:The view is beautiful. Modern b&b/hotel, staff were friendly and efficient, breakfast was decent. I'd recommend the restaurants and beaches in San Leone.

Review 106:Enzo and his staff do all that is possible to make your stay as comfortable and memorable. The location and the view is incredible. They spoil you there so to make sure you'll be back. We had a very nice dinner there as well as a great breakfast.

Review 107:Loved location close to Valley of Temples. Dinner on terrace with view of temple in distance. Swimming pool added bonus as it was very hot when we were here. Welcome drink and grapes together with bottle of olive oil as parting gift were lovely gesture. Great place to stay.

Review 108:Everything ! Great modern B and B with in great location close to temples. Lovely pool and views from terrace. Breakfast / evening meal good quality and friendly owners/ staff

Review 109:Great location for Agrigento. The fact that they also offer dinner was excellent - very reasonably priced, with the terrace overlooking the floodlit temples. Friendly staff, very well maintained.

Review 110:Car essential as out of town, otherwise nothing

Review 111:Room with Balcony, Swimming pool, helpful staff. Secure location with parking. The meal we had was first rate from a fairly small menu. View to Valley of Temples

Review 112:Really great place to stay. The rooms are very well appointed with funky decor! Bathroom is quite small but very adequate. We stayed in the studio with a small kitchen area which is very spacious with a fabulous large balcony overlooking the temples, beautiful at night! The restaurant provides very good food at a reasonable price, it is semi open air with the most beautiful view! Breakfast is great, very varied with some unusual dishes. The infinity swimming pool is just beautiful with its view over the temples. Make sure you use the satnav coordinates supplied direct by the hotel, it is a little out of the way which is what we prefer. Very pleasant helpful staff.

Review 113:Be careful, only half of the rooms have a terrace. The other rooms only have a window and not a French Window which would have been much better. This place is not a B&B but a hotel as I have no idea who is the owner, as there are receptionists, cleaners, a restaurant and waitresses. The rooms are impersonal but the worst has been the noise. You can hear all you neighbors, the staff and people shouting at any time. We did not sleep well at all. The finishing touch of the room is of poor quality as something on the ceiling fell and the shower rails also fell. It is impossible to read a book near the pool as there is music from 8 AM to 11 PM. The garden is not finished.

Review 114:The "B&B" is located near the centre of Agrigento and in the middle of the Valley of temples. You have a great view on a temple and on the sea. The staff is friendly and breakfast is good.

Review 115:wll it could be done something to improve the taste of the food - by that we mean only dinner. less food and better taste.

Review 116:on our 10 days jurney around sicily this was the the first stop.. the location and therefor the view is amazing over walley to the see. on the right side on the hill- tempio di giunone.. staff is very nice. stylish iterrior and super clean. fantastic and sweet welcome gift on the bed. endless pool and green surrounding. they did really god job with all that. they are trully a green house. breakfast nice and tasty.

Review 117:Modern great facilities, beautiful terraced Restaurant profiting from wonderful views of the Valley of the temples. Superb facilities and good food. Nice spacious rooms.

Review 118:Superb view of the temples. It's located in a beautiful and quiet place. Very friendly and helpful staff. Modern rooms and bathrooms. Nice swimmingpool. Excellent breakfest and dinner.

Review 119:Wifi rather slow at times

Review 120:Charming view, wonderful staff.

Review 121:Breakfast, view

Review 122:- some rooms had mold

Review 123:- staff was great: friendly, helpful, knew perfect English (which is really something for this region)

Review 124:---

Review 125:Cosy room, kind staff, beautiful view, delicious food.

Review 126:bread arrived only at 8.30 am

Review 127:nice view
