Reviews for Borgoterra
Review 1:We stayed here in September for 3 nights. Martino is a small town, very quiet but we found it a good base to explore the surrounding area from by car. The accommodation is excellent, in the historical centre of the town, with free parking. Our room was beautifully and tastefully restored, as was the large room where we were served breakfast. Extremely helpful staff, including English speaking. Excellent breakfast selection of sweet and savoury foods which was different on each of the mornings.
Review 2:Strange smell from the refrigerator or cupboard in which refrigerator was placed. Few towels, only two big and some small towels for four people for three days. It was hot. Towels got stuffy. It would be normal to change them every day, but they did not. We did not ask extra to change them because we did not want to be fussy guests, but we did not like that. No fresh fruit for breakfast. Only toast bread , no fresh bread. Dusty tables and chairs on the terrace. Dusty plates for breakfast first day after renovation. Wifi did not work in the room, we had to go on the street in front of the room or on the terrace for wifi.
Review 3:Nice location in the historic center of small town. We felt like locals. Large rooms, very nice bathroom, big terrace.
Review 4:Mattress needs replacing
Review 5:Very pleasant host. Very good location. extras for beach access much appreciated lovely authentic place. would highly recommend
Review 6:Could have used a blanket. Bed not all that comfy.
Review 7:This is a charming hotel, tucked away in the center of town. Our room was big and comfortable. The breakfast was beyond divine. Would come back in a minute.

Review 12:Breakfast on the rooftop Fabulous rooms
Review 13:Location in historic central of city Beautiful rooms breakfast on roof
Review 14:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location and wonderful décor conveyed a very authentic "grecia salento" flavor. A fantastic experience living in a very real and vibrant but small village.
Review 15:Breakfast was excellent and served with style. Young lady serving us was extremely helpful and nice. Room was clean and beautiful with a small terrace. Town itself was small, historic and nice.
Review 16:Very beautiful room (a small flat actually) with all the comforts, and a balcony full of flowers. Decorated as if it was a real home. Ideal for those that wish to rest and spend some time to their accomodation except from getting out and sightseeing.
Review 17:A beaut place to stay very interesting going upstairs to bed. A lovely breakfast given to us early as requested which was very helpful in getting away in good time.
Review 18:The only minus I can think of was a rather limited breakfast - juice, coffee and one pastry.
Review 19:Martano is a cozy little town, with no stress and very friendly people. We had a great base there for expoloring the surrounding areas. Salento is a beatiful region. Borgoterra was a great place to stay, with all the necessary amenities and yet totally different from other your usual hotels or B&B - it has a special feel to it as it is a small castle. We also had a terrace which was a great plus. Breakfast was served in a nearby cafeteria.
Review 20:It was difficult getting in touch with the proprietors when we arrived. We just happened to accidentally find the alternative contact phonenumber. There should be a better back up plan if the main phone line isnot working.Breakfast was served at a local cafe with very limited offerings.
Review 21:Being archtectural buffs, we really liked the meticulous attention todetail in the renovation of the old building. The room was cozy andelegant. The staff was very friendly.
Review 22:All is situated next to the church and on a sunday (only the sunday) you must be prepared to be awakened early by the very loud churchbells.
Review 23:The rooms were spacious and in the splendid little borgo.
Review 24:They could maybe use some new towels and bathrobes.
Review 25:The way the rooms had been designed keeping the old feel with modern facilities. The staff were excellent, the location was perfect, and it was peaceful.
Review 26:We loved staying in the historic center of Martano. The old Monestary or convent has been completely renovated. We stayed in one of the apartments and it felt like we were living in our own private little castle. You have the choice of breakfast delivered to your room or eating in the dining room. We chose to have breakfast delivered and loved feeling spoiled. Gabriella brought a little something different every morning of our four day stay. She was great. If you get the apartment make sure you pick up some fresh pasta from Luigi down the street, near the little park. You tell him what you want and he does into the back of the store to make it fresh. Very good! It was also a good location to visit Lecce and other points of interest in the area.
Review 27:Location excellent. Very clean rooms furnished in traditional style. Wonderful breakfast with delicious local pastries. Very helpful staff.
