Reviews for Hotel San Giorgio
Review 1:Unfinished hotel, lot of noise on the floors(working in progress). Very bad isolation everywhere! Heating in the room very weak, small room, also very cold in the breakfast area, you need to bring winter gear.
Review 2:Free parking and decent breakfast. In walking distance of Bergamo center.
Review 3:The Friday night 30 Oct was very noisy as there seemed to be some kind of police search going on - lots of walking about and knocking on doors.- but this was presumably unusual. .
Review 4:loved the view from the breakfast room and the variety of breakfast foods.
Review 5:Nothing bad.Everything was perfect.
Review 6:The location was perfect.Just 10 minutes walking from train station. The room was big, luxurious and the bathroom also.Very clean hotel with rich breakfast.
Review 7:Personel was very helpful and friendly, we had room next to train rails but windows completly muted noise. Breakfast was tasty and with beautful view of city. We could choose our room. It was modest but clean, cozy, comfortable and silent. We forgot one thing from our room and personel called us :) We really can recommend this hotel! Greetings for staff!
Review 8:The room had only one window which made it relatively dark. You had to keep the windows closed for the night as the train rails were very close as well as the airport. But air-conditioning was working nicely.
Review 9:It was close to train station, buses, citi center in Bergamo. The stuff was very kind. Printer at reception.
Review 10:The room looked onto a staircase and if we opened the window it was very noisy for sleeping. However, the cure for that was the AC, which worked well.
Review 11:Friendly staff, well-equipped, great breakfast, quality for a very good price.
Review 12:Situated between railways and 2 highways, so noisy, no light, barely ok if you come in late and leave early the next morning. Breakfast is average but in a not air conditioned room, below the roof
Review 13:staff were nice
Review 14:Great value and location in Bergamo for those arriving or leaving. We arrived by train and stayed overnight to catch a flight the next morning. Very helpful and kind staff. Interesting decor with suit of armour and old camera in the reception area.
Review 15:Third time I've been there. Just a great mix of location (not far from airport, very close to city center and old town in walking distance) and decent price. Also a very nice view from the roof during breakfast!
Review 16:The location was quite far from the citta alta. No supermarkets near by. Quite a scary location actually, especially late in the evening.
Review 17:The breakfast on the terrace. It was clean and comfortable hotel. The staff was very kind and helpful. Good facilities.
Review 18:The train track goes quite near. It may cause some train noise if your room is located on track side of the hotel. For us it didn't matter, though.
Review 19:The room was quite large and very clean. The staff was extremely helpful. Full points to them. The breakfast was very good!
Review 20:The breakfast starts at 7.30, but our flight was early in the morning. We asked if we could have the breakfast earlier, at 7.00, but it was refused. Still, the receptionist told us that he would arrange for a small take-away breakfast for us. In the morning we went to hand over the key and get the breakfast take away, but the receptionist was nowhere to be found.
Review 21:The hotel is small, decent and most importantly clean. It can be accessed easily, close to the railway station, bus station and the city centre. The room was very clean, not very large but comfortable, having also a private bathroom.
Review 22:Breakfast (honey was candied, butter with out of date taste, eggs overcooked). District of hotel (unpleasant people in the street in the night time).
Review 23:Price, place (near center), free parking
Review 24:with open windows trains and cars passing by can make some noise.
Review 25:Very nice atmosphere, this hotel have the soul and history. Good breakfast, friendly staff.
Review 26:If I have to say anything - Elevator is the slowest thing in the world! It's annoying.
Review 27:The hotel is OK, clean, it has enough space in the room, it has free parking and Wi-fi. The center is 15-20min walk, but in 5 min you are in the main street with shops and restaurants. The stuff was polite and helpful.
Review 28:- great breakfast with view - excellent location, very close to the train station, city center & local transport stations (airport bus) - clean rooms
Review 29:Very good breakfast, friendly stuff
Review 30:very helpful and friendly staff.
Review 31:Good food
Review 32:Very kind staff, even remembers the kind of coffee you drink at breakfast. Location and rooms are perfect.
Review 33:Breakfast served in tent on the roof. Cold eggs, no fresh fruit.
Review 34:Close to train station.
Review 35:Very friendly personnel. Situation in walking distance from railway station. In family room good beds for 4 persons. Breakfast good.
Review 36:Difficulty parking.
Review 37:Good strong wifi, nice friendly staff.
Review 38:A Bit Noisy due to the main street and the railway that is close
Review 39:Free Parking Nice Room
Review 40:Helpful staff, comfortable with lovely breakfast on roof terrace.
Review 41:Awesome rooftop breakfast, great reception!
Review 42:Nothing
Review 43:Friendly staff. Convenient location, close to the railway station and buses. Simple but sufficient breakfast.
Review 44:Location and room too small
Review 45:Staff polite and helpful.
Review 46:Room too small; lift too slow.
Review 47:Breakfast on the roof was good
Review 48:-The wifi connection didn't work at all. -Poor breakfast -Room close to the road, very noisy all night.
Review 49:-Free parking
Review 50:A little noisey in mornings from early trains but no fault of hotels.
Review 51:Great beds with good bathrooms.
Review 52:location
Review 53:Too much noise from the traffic ( air traffic, railway, motorway)
Review 54:Breakfest was good
Review 55:Helpfull stuff, clean room, close to the main street with restaurants, entertaining breakfast hall on the roof :)
Review 56:The cleanliness ,the warm wellcome and the fact that I could park my car nearby, also the breakifast on the roof was charming!!
Review 57:nobody speaks english...
Review 58:Fridge is not a fridge, it´s a minibar. You can´t keep food inside.
Review 59:Clean Good location Nice people
Review 60:little bit noisy, close to railways, you can hear the trains and sometimes aeroplanes. It would be great to have some fruits and vegetables at the breakfest table, this was missing. Oldfashioned rooms.
Review 61:Great location, close to main railway and busstation. You can get from the airport with bus in 25 min. (ca. 20min bus and 5min. walk). Awesome view on Bergamo old city at the breakfast on the roof. The breakfest was served always with smile. Coffee was served and they made nice cappucino and espresso. Very friendly & helpful staff. :)
Review 62:Orange juice at breakfast insipid, watery and sugary.
Review 63:Welcoming, hospitable attitude of staff.. Availability of wifi and computer to make a print. Good choice at breakfast.
Review 64:Not the most modern hotel however hotels in this area are not cheap therefore to get more modern you will need to pay.
Review 65:Easy location to park and get to Bergamo airport within 10mins. Easy walk (10mins) into Bergamo new town with plenty of bars and restaurants. Free parking and breakfast makes it good value.
Review 66:Very dark room, a little bit noisy as close to traffic. The reception is closed in the evening, opens in 7.30 in the morning and this is not very convenient for early travellers.
Review 67:Wi Fi access not good...had to use hotel computer in the reception. Roof top for limited breakfast not served by an adequate lift...most people walked down half covered exterior staircase.
Review 68:Staff very helpful. Clean and comfortable.
Review 69:Friendly & helpful staff. Clean room. Hot shower. Good breakfast. Loved the roof-top breakfast room. Excellent choice for our one night stay. Straightforward walk to the train station.
Review 70:The tv only has an international channel (France24). It would be good to have access to more international channels, namely in English to her the news.
Review 71:Nice decoration of the building and the rooms.
Review 72:The only thing that wasn't pleasant is a constant humidity innumber, a bad provetrennost.
Review 73:The hotel was pleasant to us. It is one of not many hotels in this citywhere the bathroom is in number. Breakfast on a roof, very good town, abeautiful look. Very friendly personnel. Near the railway station andnear the airport. Taxi expensive, it isn't necessary to order, as toa bus stop not so far. If you want to be in the center of all life ofthe city, it is better to take hotel on closer to the central streetsand is higher.
Review 74:Lack of real space in communal areas and would have been nice to be able to check out later than 11am
Review 75:Good friendly atmosphere and in an ideal location and breakfast on the roof is a real bonus. Will certainly use again all round great Holliday
Review 76:The facilities in the single bedroom were very very budget. The standardwas lower than what you see in student accommodation so I stronglybelieve the room I booked should have been much cheaper.
Review 77:Staff were very helpful in providing me with an adapter for mylaptop, helping me print boarding pass and giving me directions toexplore Bergamo
Review 78:Breakfast is typical Italian; nothing special but adequate.
Review 79:Great value-for-money and relatively close to the train station for easy acces to Milano etc.
Review 80:I did not like the hotel at all. the rooms were low than basic. Breakfast was very poor. The price was way to high for this hotel. I do think I would prefer it again
Review 81:No air conditioning in my room ( hot Bergamo day can you imagine how it is going to be?) Very small room Old furniture Bad breakfast Once I asked for iron at 7:20 and they did not give me since hotel opens at 7:30 although he was there and could give me the iron I waited 10 minutes then get the iron (great ha?) no ironing in the rooms, facilities, at the entrance on a towel you iron on a regular table!!!! (It is mentioned that it is 3 stars hotel?)
Review 82:The bread they served for breakfast was rather dry and tasted like cardboard. In a country as Italy known for excellent food, they should have offered some nice fresh bread for their guests. It should not be some challenge for them to provide that I guess.
Review 83:Was only a a few minutes walking distance from Railway station and mainstreet. Rather "noisy" in the room we got, and the only window was out in the street with lots of traffic and the railway passing by. "Luckily" it wasn't too hot when we stayed there, but I can imagine in a warm summer night that it might be difficult to sleep when you have to keep the window open to get some fresh air. The staff was friendly, breakfast was minimal but served with love and a smile. Basicly the breakfast was white bread, jam, ham, cheese and hardboiled eggs and juice. And croissonts. Coffee was served and they made nice cappucino and espresso. We slept in a room with four beds, and I think this is one of the very few hotels in Bergamo that has this option. Suited us well. Room was cleaned every day, and the overall impression is that rooms are clean and not too small. All in all a hotel that gives good value for the money, and it has a nice atmosphere.
Review 84:The railway station, auto streets were seen and heard directly from ourwindows. I can't sleep a whole night, it was noisy with open windowsand there was no conditioner.
Review 85:The Hotel is near the shopping area. You should ask cappuchino forbreakfast (not from automat), it was excellent
Review 86:Away from town and not that close to train station entrance (15 min walk). Trains were noisy throughout the night. No breakfast provided before 7:30. Poor lighting in rooms. Terrible pillows.
Review 87:Wifi provided for one device only. Balcony.
Review 88:the view from my room.
Review 89:very convenient location (10 min. from the city centre on foot and very close to the train and bus station) ,very helpful staff speaking english well, very clean-they changed towels every day-,and very satisfying breakfast.
Review 90:The only bad thing is that the hotel is old! But it is renovatedso its ok!
Review 91:Reception guy and girl were very friendly and helpful. They show us allthe locations nearby for food super market etc. and because we wouldcheckout before the breakfast starts they made us a take awaybreakfast!! And we didnt asked for it!! Large rooms, large bathroom andnice bed! It is near the center with foot and 10 minutes with taxi fromthe airport!
Review 92:better selection at breakfast for a country famous for cheeses and hams, the option of darylea slices and packet ham was ridiculous.
Review 93:good location friendly staff walking distance from centre of bergamo early check in and late check out
Review 94:The gentleman on the reception was extremely friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. He recommended some great eating places and bars and we instantly knew we were in a friendly town. The location was excellent as it was near to the train station and Bergamo Airport. I would stay there again.
Review 95:Lovely small hotel, area a bit seedy feeling as we walked around, but at the same time did not feel particularly vulnerable. Hotel was lovely with great staff and friendly service. Rooms basic but clean but that was what we had booked. Very good breakfast and friendly staff there too as well as reception.
Review 96:Very tired shabby and dated room dim and poorly decorated - paintsplashes on skirtings. Old empty fridge in room Roof top breakfast roomhad lovely waitress who was helpful - stairway access up fire escspesteps daunting - but lift available which was ok
Review 97:Close to bergamo airport
Review 98:breakfast have a low value.
Review 99:Not much for serious visitors, max.for one night like salesman. If you like sound from a lot of train next to the building, welcome!
Review 100:Area where situated is seedy. Gangs of young men hangging around made you feel uncomfortable. Not Hotels fault simply an issue of geography. Breakfast cramped and selection and service poor for the money.
Review 101:Handy for travel
Review 102:the hotel has nice location if you need to stay for one night, as we did, until the next day when we had our flight. It is near the bus and the train station, as well as the airport. The personnel were pleasent and helpfull...
Review 103:The hotel was in an ideal location near the station and was easy to get to from the Airport. There is a car park out the front, and a nice little pub round the corner. The quadruple room was perfect for 4 of us going for a quick weekend break. The hotel was well located and took us 15 minutes to walk to the bottom of the old town.
Review 104:internet was not available in my night spent there, even if after half an hour, the receptionist went in my room to give the user name and password (not able to connect)...
Review 105:pretty good hotel, close to railway station (shutlle to airport), easy to get to city center
Review 106:It is overpriced, but for a destination like Bergamo is probably a good choice for people travelling on budget.
Review 107:Location was good, close to the railway station, the airport bus station and the lower city central area. The room was basic, good enough to rest after a day of stolling around. For a short stay is OK.
Review 108:We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived, as when you book on the internet you are always a bit worried in case things are not quite what they seem. The Hotel was lovely, the roof top dining area was lovely. The staff were very helpful. The hotel was close to public transport and we were within walking distance of shops, restaurants and bars. Would recommend to friends.
Review 109:No air conditioner in my room (only ceiling fan), what really surprizedme is that during night ants occupied my laptop (as it was hot theydecided its great place to live); check out time was 11 A.M. - receptionstarted calling me and remind about it starting from 10-30...
Review 110:Very good location for travellers who have not much time. The Hotel isnear to the central station and main street. Walking time to city center15-20 min.
Review 111:The location of the hotel is not in an area where there is much to do,but a 20 min walk takes you to town where you can get a bus to the oldbeautiful historical town
Review 112:The hotel is nice with great staff, especially Alvise on the front desk.He was extremely helpful and friendly recommending places to go and eatand his English is excellent. The rooms are clean with a decentbathroom. The breakfast is great with lots of choice and is served onthe roof in a cool terrace by a friendly lady.
Review 113:The foods served at breakfast were of a low quality - no choice of cereals, the bread for toast was poor quality and the cheese was highly processed.
Review 114:Friendly staff, very clean, good location. Lovely breakfast-room on the roof.
Review 115:in bathroom is ventilation but is not working, bathroom was always wet. poor breakfast. walls are thin, too noisy. for 2* have to be cheaper
Review 116:quite good hotel
Review 117:Central location,3 blocks west of main st, Hotel did the job. Railway line at back, noise but not after midnight.Breakfast OK but not extravigant. Reasonable price. Reception very helpfull. Breakfast staff could make more effort to be cheerfull. Bergamo is a loyely place. Worth visitng.Lack of taxis at night, bit of problem. No problem walking about, even an all night snack bar.vending machines to ease an early to bed culture.
Review 118:A 5 minute walk from both railway station and main shopping streets indowntown Bergamo. Their breakfast terrace upstairs was also nice. Freeintrenet access from lobby with their computer.
Review 119:Bergamo is a very beautiful city but there are not so many hotels. This hotel I will not recommend to anybody. The bathroom was frightening. It was mouldy. Everything is very old. The only thing I liked there was a breakfast on the roof with the view to the Old Town.
Review 120:Some rooms are quite dark and where also quite cold (in december). It didn't look too clean... Some bathrooms are not the newest standard.
Review 121:- the rooftop breakfast room! - the always friendly staff!
Review 122:Not very service minded!
