Reviews for Beth-Shalom
Review 1:Located on the green hill just near Bahai garden, clean and comfortable, big tasty breacfast, free tea, coffee and even fruits/biscuits during the day :)
Review 2:There wasn't anything I didn't like
Review 3:The hotel felt like home the staff were personable and helpful the food was fresh and sufficient the dining facility welcoming and dietary needs were well accommodated the hotel was very conveniently located fir our purposes - a three day visit to Bshai Holy Places and it was affordable. The bed was among the most comfortable I have had and we slept very well
Review 4:The west side of the hotel is very noisy because director's family lives there ( children playing, the woman walking with shoes) .At breakfast there are no cakes at all!!!!
Review 5:Outstanding lower budget facility, extremely clean and well run, great location, staff extremely accommodating - everything you need - on a small scale - and just not luxurious.
Review 6:I looked for an inexpensive hotel, simple, clean, which serves breakfast, preferably with parking, and Wi Fi availability. Beth Shalom offered all the above.
Review 7:Our towels were not replaced two days prior to our departure.
Review 8:The people in the dining were very friendly and one of them (the young long haired lady) went out of her way to provide us with a decent breakfast when we came 30 minutes before the dining closes.
Review 9:There was nothing to dislike. The location is brilliant, across the road to the highest lookout and entry-point to the Bahai Gardens and opposite the shops and cafes.
Review 10:The friendly, helpful, informative staff was available at all times. The breakfast was fresh, varied and delicious and located in a room overlooking the hotel garden. I will always go there now when in Haifa and recommend it to my friends.
Review 11:I was on the first floor and there was no view.
Review 12:I was visiting my daughter at the University of Haifa and I thought the location was great. Close to the promenade and near many bus stops. There are also a lot of restaurants in the area.
Review 13:Wi-fi was to be available in our room but wasn't; wi-fi only available in the lobby; sometimes there was no wi-fi even in the lobby: when i complained and asked for a reduction of the cost of our rooms, i was told that wasn't possible since the wifi is a freebie for the guests, even though i argued that we chose the hotel based on the promise of wifi...So their advertising was misleading.
Review 14:Breakfasts were nourishing the location-easy to get buses, etc. simplicity some staff friendlier than others
Review 15:Would have liked to have a teekettle and coffee in the room. Parking was a little awkward.
Review 16:Excellent breakfast Friendly staff Beverages in the lobby
Review 17:No complaints. Obviously doesn't have the amenities of a four star hotel, but the price is a good value.
Review 18:Comfortable room, flexibility regarding check out time on the Jewish sabbath (shabbat). Nice communal space for hanging out. Free tea and cake. Friendly staff. Parking.
Review 19:If I can have the Wifi without getting the password every time will be marvelous.
Review 20:The breakfast was excellent with many choices and plenty of supply. The staff are friendly and cooperative. I also like the location because it is close to the Baha'i Shrine and the Baha'i Holy Places. It is also close to restaurants and shops.
Review 21:This was our second stay in the Beth-Shalom Hotel and we were once again very pleased. This small hotel has very nice and modern rooms and bathrooms. The breakfast was lovely, and was served indoors and outdoors in a lovely garden setting. The location is atop Carmel and very convenient.
Review 22:Good location for us. In the beauitful Carmel area with a view of Haifa bay nearby. Several restaurants to enjoy in this area. The breakfast was enjoyable. Friendly staff.
Review 23:The only problem, and it is minor, is the speed of the wifi.

Review 44:The wifi does not work in the rooms. The room is a bit small.
Review 45:The location and breakfast are good.
Review 46:Dumpy rooms, difficult parking
Review 47:The air conditioning and the location near the Ba'hai Shrine
Review 48:Nice hotel close to many restaurants, the staff was very helpfull, we had a problem with our rental car and they made several calls for us. From the hill you have a wonderful view over Haifa.
Review 49:It's on the top of the hill close to Bha'i gardens, so you need to use bus 136 or a taxi to get there from train station, but no biggie.
Review 50:It is well situated establishment with bus stops just accross the street. Staff has been helpfull and knowledgeable. Rooms are very clean with a bit dated but a good taste decor. My bathroom has been renovated recently. Breakfast facilities are adequate with a good, tasty choices. Highly recommended place to stay.
Review 51:I like everything about the hotel
Review 52:the view from the hotel is amazing on top of Mount Carmel. Close proximity to Bahai Garden and Shrine of the Bab. The staffs are very helpful and professional.
Review 53:Problem with the wifi. A very interresting parking, but it worked. No cleaning on saturdays.
Review 54:Good situation, near to public transportation, near to the Bahai Garden. Friendly staff, nice breakfast, some restaurants nearby.
Review 55:Wifi, though promised free in all areas, did not work at all in the room. Understand it does not work in backside rooms
Review 56:- Excellent, very cooperative front office staff, ever willing to help and guide tourists - Excellent location. 10 minutes walk from Bahai Gardens. Many good restaurants in walking distance
Review 57:In my opinion, every thing was good.
Review 58:It is a clean and quiet hotel available at a highly reasonable and economical rate. The complimentary breakfast that was included in the room rent was of good quality.
Review 59:Loved everything!
Review 60:This is our second time at Beth-Shalom & stayed 10 nights. It is a very well situated hotel for using pubilic transport (carmelit, bus stop right outside - called 'HaTishbi') and taxis across the road if you are in a hurry. The staff are very friendly & helpful, free wi fi, air conditioning and i just love the fresh buffet style breakfast! Very well situated for visiting the Baha'i Gardens and shopping in the Mercaz. We enjoyed the Japanese retaurant close by called Japanika (on top of Carmelit station) - also the felafel/schwarma restaurant called 'Davids' on HaYam Rd. Highly reccomended!
Review 61:Slightly impersonal. The common areas are functional but not cozy.
Review 62:Simple but clean and comfortable. Safe and very carefully managed. Located in a nice area, well connected to urban transportation (bus to the central Ben Gurion boulevard and to the train station).
Review 63:Room cramped with three in it. Fine for two.
Review 64:Family owned - more secure Smaller and more intimate. Very helpful staff and made special arrangements for food during early tours. Excellent food. feather beds. Across street from bus stop. Lots of shopping, food, atms close by.
Review 65:Israeli drivers who had scant regard to those crossing the road on thedesignated road crossings. Something you had to do to catch the 136 busdown the mountain. So beware!
Review 66:The staff were always attentive to the needs of their customers andwere always very friendly. With the 136 bus stops just outside itwas possible to travel up or down Mt Carmel easily. The hotel waswithin easy walking distance of central Carmel where were shops andplaces to eat.
Review 67:Struck me as one step up from a hostel. Our sheets and duvet cover seemed never to get changed and as I had a bad cold and wanted new water glasses was shocked to be told they are washed in the bathroom sink each day. Dusty floors not helpful in recuperating from a cold either. Daughter stayed in one day to "rest" but couldn't due to construction drilling. Uncomfortable beds and pillows. Utilitarian but no comforts to speak of. Receptionist called a taxi when we checked out that drove in circles, raising the price of a ride to the sherrut from 35 shekels to 58. That driver connected us to a sherrut driver who quoted 300 to Tel Aviv and demanded 350 to let us off with our luggage. Beth Shalom should be more careful what taxis they are calling for their guests.
Review 68:Good location, very convenient and great restaurants abound. Rooms reasonable size and bathrooms relatively modern. Has what you need of basic facilities but unresponsive to requests for anything else..
Review 69:Rooms are a bit small.
Review 70:Great location close to the top of the Baha'i Gardens and shops, restaurants. Small quiet hotel with friendly helpful staff. Clean facilities and great buffet breakfast.
Review 71:The locAtion of hotel was great and near Bahai Gardens. Parking was convenient . The front desk staff was most helpful. Breakfast was very nice. I cannot say anything negative and will stay there again when in Haifa.
Review 72:Staff were friendly, delicious breakfast rather modest hotel's location made it possible to easily reach the film festival. Nice weather allowed to sit on the terrace provided free tea and coffee in the lobby
Review 73:I can't remember now as I was at another hotel the past 2 nights where it was a serious problem, but I don't think I had good wifi access on my iPhone in my room and that was a problem at times as I was trying to do some work there.
Review 74:I liked its sweet, quiet environment and nice outdoor area off the dining room. I was glad I could buy a big bottle of water for a reasonable price and that there was filtered water available in the lobby all the time, plus other beverages.
Review 75:Rooms were small but modern and clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was really nice, in a beautiful setting. Hotel is ideally located on the wonderful Carmel section of Haifa. Really pleased with our decision to stay here.
Review 76:Can't think of anything.
Review 77:The staff and location in the heart of the City. Half a block from an incredible view/overlook and great restaurants. Good breakfast in a lovely space.
Review 78:Beth Shalom is more like a guest house than a hotel. It was very old fashioned in appearance, but overall was comfortable, clean and had all the amenities we really needed.
Review 79:Room very small. No fridge in room along with not any coffee/tea making equipment. Had to pay extra for wifi but at least it worked in our room.
Review 80:Excellent location along crest of Mount Carmel across the street from some of the top hotels in the city. Very clean and well run small hotel. Free parking outside the front door.
