Reviews for Brookville Guesthouse
Review 1:The address, Rahan Rd, seemed a bit misleading, at least a local who gave me "directions" got it wrong. However a telephone call to Brookville soon solved the problem. A very minor issue overall.
Review 2:My stay was short but very comfortable. As I do not enjoy an early breakfast I did not dine.
Review 3:The staff were brilliant (Josie )very helpful the location was fantastic as we were attending a wedding near by and would stay there again and we have recommended to friends
Review 4:There was no shampoo or shower gel, not sure if this was meant to be there or not.
Review 5:The owner was lovely and very helpful. We were travelling from the North of Ireland to go to the Ploughing Championships the next day. We thought we might be late (after 10pm) so we called ahead to let her know. She called us back & told us it would be no problem which was a big relief. We got a flat wheel on the way there and she was very kind to give us directions to a smaller garage in town who fixed the puncture while we waited in the morning rather than just telling us to go to the bigger branded garage beside the B&B. The rooms were warm, very clean & had everything we needed. We paid for the breakfast to be included. The food was lovely & well worth the €7.50. I noticed someone left a review to say it was expensive but I disagree. I would happily recommend this B&B to anyone.
Review 6:Stayed her in August for a family wedding I was attending. Loved the warmth & friendliness of the lady owner & her daughter, they were very pleasant & helpful. Lovely bright & spacious breakfast room & tables & chairs outside to relax with a cuppa tea & admire the flowers. We were made feel very welcome. Close to town & lovely canal walk right across the road. Would highly recommend a stay here.
Review 7:We didnt eat the breakfast becouse the price was too expansive for us.
Review 8:The guesthouse was close by the. center of the city. The woman incharge was kind and helpfull.
Review 9:Stayed at Brookville 10 years ago so when we were travelling in that part of Eire again we used the B & B again as we knew it was comfortable & good value.
Review 10:not much night life in local pubs during the week
Review 11:the location to the town centre and other attractions such as Charliville castle and the heritage centre
Review 12:Lovely staff lovely beds . Breakfast could showcase tullamore s finest produce but was a little disappointing.
Review 13:Very friendly host and made very welcome.
Review 14:Home from home. Very friendly and good breakfast served. Stayed at this b&b for 5 years now when in Tullamore for athletics competition wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Review 15:The owner was lovely and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. The BNB is in a great location only 5 minutes from the centre of Tullamore. Highly recommend.
Review 16:It would have been nice if the breakfast had been included in the price.
Review 17:Clean room and staff were accommodating when we arrived late. Day staff were very friendly. Nice canal outside! Plenty of free parking.
Review 18:Needed a B&B close to where I was going for a function that evening. Worked out just fine. Had an early start the following morning and the proprietor was happy to provide a full breakfast earlier than normal.
Review 19:No negative comments to report.
Review 20:We arrived late and left early; however, our time spent there was enjoyable. The room was clean, and the owner greeted us warmly and, made our stay very pleasant. We had opted out of the breakfast, but were still offered coffee and toast.
Review 21:The power was out when I arrived. (It affected a large part of the city.) The owner had candles but offered to let me find another hotel if I wished. I stayed anyway and the power came back in a few hours.
Review 22:Room was clean/updated and the owner was very nice. Dining area was also clean and pleasant.
Review 23:Our room had a 'smell' and overlooked next door and we were on the ground floor so no privacy unless we closed the curtains and worried about security. Laminate flooring throughout the hotel so very noisy. Other doors shutting and people upstairs walking about late into the night meant that sleep was difficult.
Review 24:Friendly staff, easy parking and a good breakfast
Review 25:On check out couldnt find anyone to leave key with- very minor niggle in an otherwise nice stay.
Review 26:Convenient location, very clean, exellent shower. Tea tray and daily fresh towels.
Review 27:Overall, the room was good but it could use several updates. There was no hairdryer and it wouldn't hurt to put good hangers inside the wardrobe. The kids single beds were fine but our double bed wasn't very comfortable. Our biggest issue was showering with a broken shower head, it would not stay in place.
Review 28:We really liked the location as it was an easy stroll into the town center and the onsite parking was helpful too. The staff was helpful and friendly. Their breakfast was very good. Our family room was big and clean and the eating area was very nice. The price fit the budget for our last minute trip.
Review 29:Really enjoyed my brief stay. Was upgraded to a double room from a single. Very comfortable, nice vegetarian breakfast provided. Owner and staff were helpful and friendly. Just what I needed.
Review 30:There is no reception if you want to check in you have to call a number and someone from a restaurant will open the door. If you need anything you won't find someone that will help you. Bad hostel and bad service.
Review 31:Nothing
Review 32:This was the first stop of our holiday and I am glad this was our first experience. Josie was so welcoming and wonderful and made us feel very comfortable. This spot is located right on a little stream and just a 5 minute walk to the Tullamore Distillery. Breakfast was the best we have had so far in Ireland!
Review 33:Unpleasant smell from the place. Poor soundproofing between rooms. Needs refurbishment. Price not competitive vs hotel facilities.
Review 34:The staff tried their best and were helpful.
Review 35:Very welcoming and friendly. We had a car breakdown problem and the owners were extremely helpful in trying to get it sorted for us, which we managed in the end. I was also offered a lift by the owner when I was checking out. Great personal service all round. I will definitely be back and will recommend Brookville.
