Reviews for Maleny Lodge

Review 1:It's a lovely old house, so not surprisingly it's a bit shabby, in a comfortable way. But - the pool wasn't very inviting - it needed a leaf-sweep. Outside furniture on our little balcony was dirty and old. The beds are on wheels and tended to move which was a bit disconcerting!

Review 2:Wonderful old house, and lovely welcome.

Review 3:We did not have a bad experience, however would have loved to have had dinner available, even if a set 3 course menu such as soup, roast, apple pie, pavlova etc.

Review 4:Staff very welcoming, premises and room very clean although some items in the room and ensuite getting a little tired, breakfast excellent and well presented

Review 5:Vastly overpriced.....dated property, smelled musty, average share facilities, poor value for money. owners/staff probably think it's fantastic but that would mean they are well out of touch with the current market.

Review 6:location - centre of main street.

Review 7:Obviously Maleny is pricey no matter where you stay so I can really complain about the cost.

Review 8:Staff were lovely and so friendly and very accommodating allowing an early check in so we could get ready for the wedding. Breakfast was amazing and they didn't charge us for the extras. Really enjoyed the Maleny cheese platter they arranged at a very good price of only $25.

Review 9:The short staircase down into the bathroom was a little hazardous.

Review 10:Nice comfortable room, great location. Would have liked for the jacaranda tree to be in flower.

Review 11:The hosts were so lovely and they made you feel special. The location was just perfect, We came away feeling refreshed and rested. Very definitely 10 out of 10.

Review 12:Carparking space was limited and having to take cars out onto a busy main street to change over was difficult. The rooms were plain and un-air conditioned. TV's were the old CRT style and without DVD connection.

Review 13:The owners were really helpful and attentive. The public areas were superb, a was the breakfast. Perfect location from which to explore the town and locality

Review 14:The wifi did not work in the room, as I think it was too far away from the access point. Also the TV was broken.

Review 15:I liked almost everything about this accommodation. I had to leave too early so didnt have the breakfast but it sounded like it would have been great.

Review 16:the stay was to short

Review 17:Very friendly staff, the location is easy walking distance to cafe's and shops. The breakfast is awesome great central place to explore the surrounding area. Staff will book restaurants.

Review 18:Had a problem with the shower - the rose needed attention.

Review 19:The friendly welcome to guests we found very relaxing and the location was so central to the town. Also having a home cooked breakfast was lovely, we enjoyed the pampering.

Review 20:My friend and I stayed for two nights at Manley Lodge and enjoyed the experience . Megan was a wonderful and the house had a feel of tranquility and happiness. I would recommend to friends . Anne.

Review 21:The hosts Meagan and Reg were very welcoming, a nice friendly touch to a welcoming open B&B that is beautifully decorated and the touches of flowers everywhere add to the atmosphere of this quaint authentic house. The breakfast was delicious and filling on the veranda, meeting and chatting with other guests gave the place a homely feel. Didn't get to use the pool, but looked relaxing. The place was right in town, fantastic everything a easy walk, Reg gave a few recommendations for eating and things to see and do around town. We didn't stay long enough and will definitely be back with friends. This place has a lovely welcoming feel and the hosts so friendly, makes this place a great place to enjoy a weekend at Maleny !

Review 22:Breakfast toast burnt black on one side and other side burnt edges- inedidible. Too many mushrooms and they were over cooked/ burnt. Tea too black, too many leaves or tea bags in small pot. A larger pot would be nice, rather than a 2 cup for two guests. Specifically asked for no more than one slice of bacon, got three. Renovations to bathroom not particularly well done. No real mirror in bathroom, only small thin mirror inside wall cabinet. House "dark" and needs lights on during day for it to be "cheery". Not sustainable energy use. Suggest solar tube lights. Main problem is it is an old house converted into and claimed as a boutique hotel but does not meet fire safety requirements. Exit signs are not self sustained and constantly lit and hallway is dark. In the event of a fire exit signs would not be visible. This is a very significant contingent liability. We remember well the Childers back packer tragedy from lax attention to this issue. Smoke alarms were not flashing to indicate that they were in service and receiving current. For those with allergies, pot pourrie aromas are unpleasant and make for a snuffly night. Bed too firm for those used to a softer bed. Need to turn over during night to relieve old aching bones.

Review 23:Interiors pleasantly painted and comfortable, if a bit cluttered. Eggs at breakfast nice organic from corn fed chooks- very rich yellow colour. Looked and tasted great!

Review 24:A little disappointed with breakfast. Brochure reflected fresh fruit, but none was offered.

Review 25:Great location. Very quiet and peaceful. A lovely place to get away and relax.

Review 26:terrible, old key to open the room's door, it should be fixed; the room should be vaccumed under the bed and the little carpet near the bed was dirty

Review 27:location, breakfast,

Review 28:The place is very run down, I know its about old world charm but the bed was terrible and the sheets were so old they had holes in them, the place needs a good overhaul, there was no proper curtains on the window, so the light beamed in early in the morning we have stayed in way nicer accommodation that was cheaper in the past,It's a shame because it has so much potential, would not stay here again.

Review 29:The staff are lovely very friendly, and the breakfast was very nice.

Review 30:The bed was terrible. Needs to be updated. Did not suit two adults. The breakfast has a window of an hour between 8-9am. We attended a wedding that day so we got up at 9.30 thinking we could still grab the breakfast but were told we missed it.

Review 31:The location was perfect of you were wanting to stay in town.

Review 32:the light in the hallway kept me awake. the doors need fixing as they are hard to open

Review 33:Meagan makes you feel welcome immediately. Her and Reg are such warm people. The fire was just lovely. These people go way beyond just being "good hosts". We loved the breakfasts and the lodge is a place one can truly unwind and feel contented.

Review 34:There was nothing we didnt like

Review 35:Everything was fantastic. Breakfast, the atmosphere, location, the whole package was terrific. Meagan and Reg were wonderful hosts.

Review 65:Right in the middle of town. Good staff. Big breakfast.

Review 66:Guy handling food with a long beard. Does this meet food hygiene standards? Chairs and dining area need renovation or a good clean

Review 67:Location and friendly staff

Review 68:Nothing.

Review 69:Lovely old house, full of character right in the town but quiet and peaceful. We had a room at the rear looking over the garden which almost felt like a tree house. Very warm and welcoming owner who provided an excellent breakfast on the veranda. Easy parking in front of the house was a bonus as was the proximity to several good restaurants.

Review 70:Everything was wonderful from the moment we checked in until we left after having the most incredible breakfast. Location is central - it was great to wander around town before leaving. Can't wait to stay again but for longer!

Review 71:Nothing, it was fantastic!

Review 73:A beautiful old home. Hosts who are delighted by your arrival. Clean comfortable rooms with lovely touches in furniture and linens. A very good breakfast and an old cat sleeping on the garden path. That is definately my idea of the perfect B&B.
