Reviews for Port Inn
Review 1:Night staff
Review 2:The morning staff was very friendly and helpful. Good and tasty breakfast typically Israeli. Private ensuite simple, though very comfortable with air conditioning, good beds, clean leans and a simple bathroom. Good location that we could go walking to Wadi Nisnas, Carmelit subway and German colony.
Review 3:appartment kitchen not fully equipped to our standards; no free parking available; construction going on in the street during our stay (not the hotel's fault but rather inconvenient)
Review 4:convenient location to most of Haifa's points of interest; friendly reception with helpful suggestions
Review 5:The street is not very beautiful, a lot of traffic and they are building on it. When you're inside you dont hear it anymore.
Review 6:The breakfast was really good! There was a lot of choice and it was all homemade. Very nice! The location is fine. The staff is very kind. Our room was ok but very basic. It was a good price/quality balance.
Review 7:There was a construction site right in front of the hostel, which limited free parking. There is a paid parking lot right next to the hotel though.
Review 8:Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are simple but clean. There are nice shared sitting rooms, a terrace and a small kitchen for common use. The breakfast offered a variety of food and is served in a cosy atmosphere.
Review 9:The twin beds were not comfortable. They were too narrow. One can barely move. It would be good if breakfast can be more creative . It's the same thing everyday . It's quite boring when ones stay is 10 days.
Review 10:It was clean.
Review 11:Amazing place, good value for the money you pay. Staff takes care about atmosphere inside, they kindly explained everything about the city, sights, how to get there, how to dress (which is very important for Israel), where to eat (and they have nice beer at the lobby bar). If you are tired of fake hospitality of big hotels, this is a place for you with atmospere of friendship and freedom of traveling.
Review 12:The floor of our room was not clean; walking around barefoot, I had to wipe dirt off my feet before getting into bed. We had a problem with the hot water, but that was remedied quickly and efficiently. And if you don't have a car, it's quite an uphill hike to the Baha'i Gardens and other sites in the middle of Haifa.
Review 13:The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our triple room was comfortable and roomy.
Review 14:This old building with high ceilings near th eport, is clean, decorated in good taste and offers a great breakfast. Our sense was that the owners are really dedicated to this small establishment.
Review 15:Although the place didn't look like much from the outside and there was construction on the street, the place was beautiful inside, very well kept, with many pleasant details. People were very friendly; delicious breakfast
Review 16:The bathroom was humid and the room smelled a little musty. Nothing obtrusive though.
Review 17:The breakfast has a lot of variety, from sweet crepes to tomatoes and yogurt and herring and bread. Great value. Lovely courtyard full of plants and tables
Review 18:Nothing bad to say at all
Review 19:Walking distance from Ha Hashmona rail station. Handy too for buses. All staff were so helpful and friendly. An excellent breakfast. Room was comfortable and regularly cleaned. Wonderful value for money experience.
Review 20:Our room was clean and organized, but it had a musty smell and felt humid after a shower.
Review 21:The staff was friendly and the restaurant is on a quiet street superbly located a 5-minute walk from the bustling German colony area. Staff speak several languages, and the breakfast includes various cheeses, hearty bread, crepes, thick yogurt, fresh-cut tomatoes and cucumbers as well as herring and tuna. Absolutely delightful.
Review 22:Nothing
Review 23:Very friendly and most helpful staff in the reception. No need to go to any other tourist information office while in Haifa. Also a good breakfast buffe, once again with very friendly staff.
Review 24:The beds in our room were pretty new but so hard that they weren't comfortable. I've stayed here before in other rooms so know that this is the exception.
Review 25:Great hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and great breakfast and patio. Kitchen available for guest use.
Review 26:smell in bathroom, old fashioned noisy toilets, light left on at night why? shined under the door. A lack of eco friendly lights must result is excessive electricity costs. same applies to the toilets, a great deal of water could be saved by installing some modern ones. They would reduce the noise as well.
Review 27:Simple no frills, friendly helpful and chatty staff. Good size room. security with extra door separating the rooms from lobby is a good idea. Staff listened to me when faults discussed and made notes in order to fix them.
Review 28:I didn't like how when I stored my luggage, they were just left in the area where everyone has access to.
Review 29:Very nice and helpful staff at reception. Good location and breakfast was a fair amount of food and well presented.
Review 30:We stayed at the apartment, which was very comfortable. there is a nice balcony that runs all the way from the small living room to the bedroom. The location is great all the area is full with nice little pubs and it's quite close to the "german colony" and Vadi Nisnas...
Review 31:The staff were really helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was good and the rooms were clean. The location was perfect for transport by bus or rail. Would definitely return.
Review 32:very friendly staff, they provide all the information when you arrive and they can offer good suggestions when you seek for help, and the breakfast is really good. The location is covenient. Only a few minutes walk to the train station and the bus stop can bring you to every where in haifa.
Review 33:The stairs to get to the room were quite steep and there were many of them.
Review 34:The staff, the facilities, the food, the location. The WIFI worked without any issues and was free. Very good value for money. In addition I became unwell and they assisted me getting to the Hospital which we appreciated very much.
Review 35:If you are on your journey to Mount Carmel, I do highly recommend this place. Rachel, the owner/operator and her staff (family) are welcoming, gracious and helpful. The breakfast is work of love, fresh and healthy. The location is great short walk to all kinds of shops, restaurants and transportation. I do highly recommend this place.
Review 36:Stairs up to room were steep. A little difficult to find because Jaffa Rd is interrupted by Ben Gurion and a traffic jam held us up.
Review 37:Breakfast, proximity to many sights. Quiet location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Open air patio for relaxing
Review 38:Unpleasant experience with the boss when we requested for maintainance to check on air condition breakdown after running for a short moment upon checking into room. We were accused for the circuit tripped. But, after telling the boss off, he was aware he made a mistake and apologized!
Review 39:Bedroom facilities was good and clean bathroom. Breakfast was better than other hotels of the same pricing and class.
Review 40:Beds were all small twin beds.
Review 41:Full kitchen, separate bedroom apt for parents but easily sleeps five people. Easy access to Haifa, late night convenience store at front door.
Review 42:Nothing.
Review 43:Very, Very clean hotel. Can't insist on this enough. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though the Port Inn is not a beach hotel, it is in a place where public transportation is easily accessed and the bus to Nazareth is a 5 minute walk. The train station (second stop if coming from Tel Aviv) is a 10 minute walk. There is a well-stocked kitchen with a refrigerator where you can put your food and a very nice patio where you can eat or just hang out. Room (#10) was simple but very comfortable and quiet. Wifi worked very well.
Review 44:everything is good
Review 45:Staff is very nice and helpful. Before check in they give you enough information. The little yard is full of plants and flowers, living room is also good

Review 52:No negative points!
Review 53:We appreciated the welcoming and the location of the hotel : near to bus and train station; near to restaurants. The staff made us comfortable and expalined us all we could do in the city. Our room was clean and tidy, with a balcony. The bathroom was ok. The common spaces were comfortable, with an adorable garden.
Review 54:We stayed only one night, but we liked it very much. It was clean and the room was wide enough .for a family of five persons to stay comfortably. The kitchen was very well equipped. We highly recommend it. Most attractions are in a walking distance.
Review 55:Nearby parking may be hard to find, though we got lucky. Not the best neighborhood to walk around at night.
Review 56:Pleasant and helpful staff, clean rooms and grounds, nice little garden that's well maintained. Although a bit spartan, our room had everything we needed. Tasty breakfast. Overall, a very good experience; wish we could stay longer.
Review 57:The only minus has nothing to do with the Inn itself, but the location could be a bit daunting for women on their own. However, we heard that the city is working on making the area more comfortable to walk around in.
Review 58:Going to Port Inn is like visiting friends: they make you feel welcome. Although the sitting room buzzes with backpacking youngsters (nice to hear their stories in so may languages) the nights are quiet. The Inn is super clean, the rooms are simple with good beds and the airconditioner works like a charm. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They take their time to answer questions and they do it with smiles that are genuine. Breakfast is nice and the garden pretty. In other words: we were very happy to stay there and we would certainly go back next time.
Review 59:The room had a weird smell, the wi-fi was not strong enough to reach our room (but could be reached in the lovely living rooms).
Review 60:The garden was beautiful, the breakfast was good, the room was comfortable and the area was quiet. Optional parking was a bonus.
Review 61:I wish you were located next to the Shrine of the Bab but you cannot help that and the walk there was very healthful.
Review 62:Firstly, the staff was incredibly helpful with everything I needed. The breakfast was the best! You stored my medicine which needed refrigeration. You had a laundry next door. Your garden was beautiful. My room was very comfortable and you kept it clean. You had an ironing board and iron. You sold Baha'i items for me to take home. You drew me a map to get to the train station. And I loved that you saved my reservation without my having to pay until I got there.
Review 63:The streets started ecoming empty towards evening, quite unpleasant to walk around at the end of the day.
Review 64:the friendly and helpful owners and staff, the fresh breakfast, the proximity to the highway, which made the drive in and out of the city very easy.
Review 65:It was our first cruise from Haifa nad we arrived the night before. The outside is non-descript but the inside setting is surprising - art on wall flowers everywhere, and a good breakfast. All at a good price. Highly reco if you are catching a cruise , etc.
