Reviews for Haifa Bay View Hotel
Review 1:The parking is too small, the food during the breakfast was not named. I was basically smelling the dressings to understand what is it.
Review 2:The hotel was very nice, the view on the whole city, amazing at night, the room was clean, with a very sexy glass shower :) we enjoyed it. Breakfast was standard, but fresh and served in a nice lobby. Just 100 meters to the Baha'i gardens, pretty close to the subway.
Review 3:No parking in the hotel. Difficult to find parking in nearby streets. Hotel has no visible sign. You can stand right in front of it and not know this is the hotel you are looking for. Reception process is poor. 3 persons available but only one active. Reception takes way too long. The double bed was actually two separate beds.
Review 4:View on Haifa bay is excellent Breakfast is good Room size is decent (although furniture is a bit dated)
Review 5:The hotel staff were always in an argument with customers. I was overcharged for my stay and am still arguing with the management over the disputed amount. Although the view is great from the room, the windows were incredibly dirty. The only way to really enjoy the view was to open the window. The tub/shower did not drain well at all, taking 30 minutes for the water to completely drain. The room heater did not work at all. The finish of the bathroom is dated and in need of general repair. (bad caulking, damaged trim, chipped tiles etc) This hotel was the most expensive I booked on our trip to Israel, but ranks at the bottom for value. The breakfast was a good spread of fresh food. The only drawback were cold scrambled eggs on the first morning of our two night stay.
Review 6:Location and view were very good.
Review 7:Other than one staff member on reception, the staff are rude and unfriendly, very unwelcoming. We chose not to eat in the hotel restaurant because of one woman's attitude towards us.
Review 8:Excellent view over Haifa Bay. Rooms clean and comfortable.
Review 9:The floors could have been vacuumed or cleaned more often. Other hotels in the area offer the Pilgrims complimentary packaged lunches, perhaps the HBV could do something similar. The senior restaurant staff wouldn't even allow us to take our included breakfast to go.
Review 10:The staff was very friendly and helpful, even when language was a barrier. The location was excellent for access to the Baha'i World center.
Review 11:I found a dirty underwear in the laundry bag, probably belonging to the previous guest of my room. The staff informed did not take any action and this is much worst than the lack of attention by the cleaning person
Review 12:The hotel is well located and comfortable.
Review 13:I arrived by car, the gate of the hotel was closed, the front door staffwas at the front door, saw me, but did not approach to help me withluggage; just expected me to unload my luggage from my car, and take itmyself at the checkin reception. I was with my wife and two babies.
Review 14:The room had a very weird smell. I couldnt get rid of it by opening window or running the AC. Then I got a patch of insect bits or some rash on my back during the second night while I slept. Only one staff was nice and helpful. The rest didn't really care. They only provided map in Russian and refused to post some mails (I already put stamps on)! What hotel doesn't post mails!
Review 15:The view is breathtaking, and location near Baha'i garden. Breakfast is good.
Review 16:Our room, though a non-smoking room became very smoky at times. I think this was due to someone smoking nearby and the smoke coming into our room through the vents. When we opened the window or ran the air conditioning, the smoke smell dissipated. But when we turned off the fan or closed the window, the strong smell of cigarette smoke returned. Otherwise, it was great. The parking lot in front of the building is a little hard to see well at night, and led to us having to circle back around the block to get to the hotel. But everything was great.
Review 17:The location, the breakfast, the staff
Review 18:I was disappointed to hear a drip drip drip noise by the window when my room was shown to me. Luckily I hadn't unpacked my clothes at this point as we were moved us to a standard room for that night which felt very basic. We were moved the following night to another superior room. This room had a problem with the shower in the fact that the water didn't go down the plug hole and the toilet water started rushing non stop. We informed management and this was fixed straight away. However when I got to bed I heard a dropping noise above the window. We were offered another room but we decided not to bother because of the upheaval and the fact that I didn't trust the fact other rooms may have a similar problem. I went to sleep with cotton wool balls in my ears which is not really what you want to do when you have spent a lot of money going on holiday. The dripping didn't stop for the whole time of our stay (10 nights) and no effort was made to fix the problem which was disappointing. On a separate issue the milk powder packet was rock hard (maybe it was old and had dried up?) The shower door in the room didn't close properly when we were using the shower and it was hard work forcing it shut. The pillows were lumpy and hard. We therefore had to request two more. I was pleased we hadn't paid the price for a superior room.
Review 19:The breakfast was very nice, the views are beautiful and the staff were approachable. The room we were shown to looked very nice and we were delighted that we had been automatically upgraded to a superior room when we had booked a standard room through Booking.com.
Review 20:Parking lot is under construction so a bit inconvenient. Hotel restaurant is so not Chinese! :(
Review 21:Great Location! Very close to the garden. Room was clean and has everything.
Review 22:A/C quit working in the Room. Had to get Main. to fix it at Midnight. *Shower Door Did not Close allowing A lot of Water to escape into the Room. Had to request extra towels.
Review 23:Not much. The Parking as First come First Serve. On Street. Very Poor.
Review 24:Some rooms at the Haifa Bay View have not yet been renovated and arestuck in a Seventies timewarp - they look very dated. Even the new roomshave not been designed well - the shower cubicle is glass-sided andvirtually in the middle of the room, so you'd better know the personyou're sharing the room with well. Not that I'd know this fromfirst-hand experience, because I was given a room that hadn't beenrenovated, while my travelling companions got an updated one. Thereception staff could not have been any less helpful. They seemedthoroughly disinterested, had poor local knowledge (sent me on a busheading in the wrong direction when I asked how to get to the trainstation) and when we asked them how much a taxi would cost, they saidthat we'd have to wait until the next day as they were too busy! This hotel is now part of the Crowne Plaza group and they should beashamed to have their name on it. For $150/night, it is an absolutejoke (although not a funny one) and I would strongly advise any self-respecting visitors to avoid it.
Review 25:Hard to think of anything that would make me want to come back to theBay View...
Review 26:When we checked in and also when we checked out, we had to wait by the reception desk as all staff members were engaged with another customer (usually 2 staff for 1 customer) and didn't even take notice of us waiting there or say anything until they were done, which made the situation a bit awkward and made us feel like we were a nuisance to them. I feel like the reception staff could have been a bit nicer and behave more cordially.
Review 27:Amazing location, nice room, very comfortable bed. The view of Haifa, the bay and the Baha'i gardens from the room is breathtaking and the selling point of this hotel!
Review 28:Amazing view and location in quiet area of Haifa with the best lookouts and promenades. Personnel was very nice, we have got upgraded room with interesting glass walls shower from which we could see breathtaking view on Haifa Bay
Review 29:Room was a bit small. Could not get on Internet one night. Staff tried to be helpful. Used one of the two computers in the lobby.
Review 30:The beautiful view! Also enjoyed the amenities, including the little package of cookies on arrival, and the rain shower.
Review 31:The breakfast was a little on the expensive side for what we got.
Review 32:Perfect location - lots of restaurants and shops near by, and beautiful view of Haifa from the hotel room.
Review 33:the view, staff, comfort of bed. We had some problems the first night. they worked in the morning, and some other minor problems. for that they offered us a free upgraded room for the next night, what they gave us with the best service.
Review 34:The price on booking.com was $135 we finally payed more than 600 sheqels which is more than $150. We only realized that when we saw the credit card statement while we we're not in the country anymore. I do not know if it is booking.com to blame or the hotel. The parking lot was full we had to park on the street and wake up early to feed the meter. The cars on the street had alarm working twice during the night which waked us up.
Review 35:The view to the bay and the shower head
Review 36:Nothing
Review 37:A lovely looking hotel with excellent customer service, situated in an unbeatable location with scenic views of the Baha'i gardens and Haifa bay. The food was very nice, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Overall, the hotel provided a very welcoming, relaxing atmosphere.
Review 38:Fabulous location near shopping, restaurants, beautiful promenade leading to Bahai Gardens and Shrine and Japanese Museum and gorgeous view. Manager very helpful. Got great Internet deal on room. Free use of Mac in lobby.
Review 39:We loved it ALL!!! Every single thing was great - from the room, amenities, food, people, housekeeping...perfect is perfect!!! It doesn't get any better!
Review 40:The whole entire staff was AMAZING!!! Every single person was so kind and helpful. The rooms were fabulous and the view was stupendous and it was a perfect central location!!!
Review 41:Don't like the new parking arrangement at the hotel Too smal and inconvenient to get in
Review 42:The manger was very accommodating to our family needs Nice room
Review 43:Unfortunately the shower drain doesn't work. You have to take a very quick shower so the water doesn't run out to the bedroom floor.
Review 44:Location,size of the room,breakfast
Review 45:The parking lot is small
Review 46:Central location Good place for a romantic walk (Panorama Street) Wonderful View of Haifa bay from all rooms AND from the shower... Very close to the CARMELIT the underground to DownTown
Review 47:Some (not all) staff members were not as pleasant as you would expect in the hospitality industry.
Review 48:Great location, big room, very comfortable beds, vary good value for money.
Review 49:charge for breakfast for children beds need upgrading executive rooms are lovely, standard need upgrading but they are going through changes now. noise in the afternoon as they are renovating
Review 50:great location
Review 51:No bad experiences; perhaps the fitness room could be improved somewhat
Review 52:I was greeted by a cheerful staff who upgraded me immediately and at my request put me on a quiet floor as their was construction in part of the hotel. The room was very well appointed with all the amenities I needed. As I did not have a laptop with me I appreciated that there were 2 computer terminals once could use in the lobby. Great Buffet breakfast and a small fitness room. Staff was helpful and friendly. I had a quiet sleep and ended up staying for 2 nights. Great value for money and I would stay here again
Review 53:Coldness of the young brunette lady at night was off-putting. Her rude comment to us one night when we were trying to enter from the back of the hotel was completely unacceptable.
Review 54:Your breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of options.
Review 55:The hotel sites states the rooms are renovated, but only the room itself is renovated, the bathroom seems 20-30 years old. The room service menu for Sabbath is almost non-existent, unlike in other hotels in Israel which offer some variety. Overall, a 3-star hotel with a 2-star bathroom.
Review 56:Superb location - right next to lots of great restaurants, the Bahá’í Gardens and some museums. Nice breakfast, quite varied even on Sabbath. Staff on reception and breakfast were nice and efficient.
Review 57:The noise of the TV next room -> VERY bad insonorisation The transparent shower cabine in the middle of the room + water going everywhere... The hand soap should be an automatic dispenser IN the wall and the towels hanged above the toilet is a very bad idea!!! (the can fall inside the toilet easily!...)
Review 58:Location is perfect in Carmel center Nice and smiling staf and manager Nicely renewed (although BAD insonorisation in the bedroom)
Review 59:Actually, everything was perfect, and I work in the hotel and tourism industry.
Review 60:The view from the room was incredible. We were happy to retire to the room in the evening and just sit in front of the full wall of window on the fabulous window seat. Great shower, well appointed room. Staff was great in responding to our requests, and very quickly!
Review 61:Very minor-- they used to provide slippers and some bathroom amenities but we didn't find them now during our stay
Review 62:This hotel made an impressive 180 degree turn and the result is amazing. Hotel in a perfect location, staff very warm, hotel modern, clean and nice. I just wish that all the old reviews can be archived by booking.com so that they can do this hotel justice.
Review 63:Some small details in bathroom's cleanness but not very important, the old windows of the rooms.
Review 64:The decoration, the colours, the view, the kind staff
Review 65:Junior suite was not really a suite - no mini bar, a dirty microwave and a small old fashioned bathroom. The third bed was only a sofa - no sleeping comfort at all. The Hotel is quite far from the center, even though it looks close, it is located up hill and therefore car or public transportation in probably needed.
Review 66:Breakfast was amazing - everything you could imagine Staff was really friendly and helpful all the time could park the car right outside
Review 67:Overpriced non renovated old room in contrast to advertisement everywhere. Housekeeping was very poor.
Review 68:The location was outstanding The breakfast was very good
Review 69:The female staff was either unexperienced and friendly or experienced but rude. Manager was around to help out with questions.
Review 70:The view about the city is awesome! Perfect location, Clean and modern rooms! Nice Restaurants nearby!
Review 71:We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights while visiting family nearby and it perfectly suited our needs, providing us with a private and restful refuge between family events. Staff was present, competent, friendly & polite without being obsequious or in-your-face. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and while the room and bathroom could have used some renovation touches (to moldings, shower seals, etc.), it was warmly styled, had a small but well-designed sitting area and desk and, most of all, a floor-to-ceiling view of the sea and Haifa bay. Housekeeping did a great job keeping the room clean and the coffee/tea area properly stocked. The only drawback was lack of dresser space, but there were narrow shelves in the closet that did the trick.
Review 72:Difficult to find a place to park. Not a problem, of course, if one is not driving.
Review 73:Very quiet and beautiful view (which could be better with washed windows). The location is very convenient - there is even a small market across the street.
Review 74:Nothing. The staff was amazing, as was our room and the food. We loved the location right by the carmelit. We'll be back for sure!
Review 75:Everything was top notch, especially the food in the hotel restaurants!
Review 76:car parking badly controlled - each entrance to the car park necessitate get out of the car and running into the hotel and asking the staff to open it. An addition of a kid's playroom would be a huge asset.
Review 77:Nice views, comfortable rooms, friendly staff.
Review 78:The quality of the breakfast could be improved.
Review 79:The location is great. Just up the hill overlooking the city but also in a good area for restaurants and other entertainment. Room had a great view, was very comfortable and clean. The staff were helpful and provided the level of service needed.
Review 80:When you enter the lobby it's like entering a time capsule. Like time stopped in the 70's. Bad carpet smell. No dinner. If graded as two star hotel, it would be ok. But definitely not at par with other 4star hotels. Next time opt for crowne plaza hotel.
Review 81:Location best in Haifa.
Review 82:Excellent location at the center of Mount Carmel with beautiful view on Haia - City and Bay. Good breakfast and comfortable, well equiped room. We would have stayed for longer but had to return home. We look forward to returning to this hotel.
