Reviews for Eden Hotel

Review 1:A bit noisy outside.

Review 2:Well, it is just a plan inexpensive hotel to stay 1-2 days in Haifa. Not the best part of the city, but very close to Carmelit station and within a kilometer to central railroad station. Lots of cheap shops and cheap food options around.

Review 3:Noise all night - Someone in the hotel was shouting like crazy. They did not change sheets (at least once) but just made the bed. The mattress was so uncomfortable. No (normal) shampoo is provided, but industrial ugly pink 'soap' in a dispenser on the wall, that was leaking to the floor of the bathroom.

Review 4:The room was pretty big.

Review 5:If you're keeping shabbat, you'll need to tell the staff that they don't clean your room and turn off lights and AC on shabbat... We were without light and AC all day.

Review 6:Friendly and helpful staff, nice hotel, lovely city

Review 7:The location in the city: after business hours there is too much of nothing around.

Review 8:The original old style of the house. The atmosfere was fine, welcoming; we felt at home.

Review 9:Colleen and the manager were very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and comfortable. Great value for the price. I definitely recommend it and will stay here again when I next visit Haifa.

Review 10:- extremely noisy - you feel the bus near your bed! - not very cheap

Review 11:- large room, with access to small kitchen -helpful staff -parking place -location

Review 12:Great location in Haifa. Friendly, welcoming personel. Haifa is a perfect hub for your travel around in Israel. Haifa itself is an old, interesting, buzzling city, beautiful spreading out along the sea and the slopes of the Carmel mountain.

Review 13:The smell in the room was terrible! It was really hard to bear it! The parking can take up to 4 cars, with two in the back blocking the two in the front. The wifi connection only worked in the lobby, there was no internet in the room.

Review 14:The price was good, but nothing more.

Review 15:Nothing. Every thing was excellent!

Review 16:The staff was extremely pleasant and friendly. They went out of there way to inform me of my way around Haifa as well. Owners are there daily and care very much about daily operations. Wonderful people. I'd stay there again and would recommend to all for a fair and for very nice rooms. Both choices.

Review 17:Very unfriendly staff. No possibilities to pay separately, although we were two separate households. Since I had booked for all of us, my credit card was just charged, my husband's signiture taken to the recept, and then I got an explanation that they have mu credit card number and they can and will charge it in any case! Finally I was accused to be angry, even though I myself believed that I stayed uncredibly calm after all the preaching:)

Review 18:Great, just great!!! Great location, room, service. Everything is near this hotel. It's very comfortable and cosy - the best place we stayed in (in Israel). The city is beautiful and safe. The manager treat us as his relatives. Eden hotel is really the place we want to go back!

Review 19:1. at night, noisy because of traffic. 2. it's more like a business area, need to take bus if go somewhere. but don't worry, buses are available nearby.

Review 20:1. room is comfortable, though toilet is outside, but hv shower cabinet & basin in the room. 2. staff is very nice. sorry again I messed up the sheet because of my period.

Review 21:No elevator but that is not a deal breaker for me.

Review 22:The desk clerk at night saw me struggling with my bags as there is no elevator and reception is on the third floor, and she offered to help. After I told her not to help as I couldnt let a lady lift heavy bags (its the way I was raised) she went ahead and had a glass of ice water ready for me. This was extremely thoughtful in my opinion and set the tone for our stay. all the people there were extremely helpful and very courteous. Even though breakfast is at a different hotel a few minutes walk down the road, it was excellent.

Review 23:Quirky hotel but great for a short stay. Staff really helpful. Unlimited free tea and coffee and good wifi. Good location and some great restaurants within a short walk.

Review 24:The stuff is kind and helpful. They even gave us better room than the one we ordered without extra payment. The location of the hotel has very good connections with all main parts of Haifa and it is not far from the famous Bahai gardens.

Review 25:Oldish and basic hotel. Low mantainance of the rooms. The shower hot water was boiling, really easy to burn your skin.

Review 26:excellent and helpuf staff. We could use the free tiny parking lot.

Review 27:The staff was the best, extremely helpful. One can get free coffee anytime, facilities in the room are ok. However the overall state of the building is not so great.

Review 28:The location is very noise. The lack of elevator - this might be important if you have heavy luggage.

Review 29:Personnel very helpful. Free parking place. Excellent breakfast in cooperating hotel.

Review 30:- facility is pretty old - located on one way streets, took a little effort to get to

Review 31:- location - four parking spots on site, first come first serve - friendly staff

Review 32:Bad wifi in the hotelrooms. (Old) toilet outside the rooms Everything looks old - pictures on the website are much nicer than the reality

Review 33:Location is OK Rooms are quite big

Review 34:- room felt like renovated prison cell - small shower - bit noisy from street

Review 35:- close to Baha'i gardens - blazing fast wifi (up to 35MB/ sec) - free parking - free tea

Review 36:Staff was not helpfull with recomendations for restaurants etc, the light in the halfway couldn't be turned off And there's a window in your bedroom door. We had a room with shared bathroom.

Review 37:Relatively cheap for israelian standards

Review 38:The free parking is very small (4 cars, 2 blocked by other 2 all the time). The owner parks 2 of his own there and he's willing to repark if you need though. The biggest disadvantage is that there's too much noise from the street so don't expect to sleep there.

Review 39:All were very kind and helpful. Free tea and coffee is a bonus :-)

Review 40:The wifi did not work in our room very well.

Review 41:The staff were nice and the place was comfortable for the price we paid. Excellent location! Short walk to the bottom of the Baha'i Gardens.

Review 42:When we booked it seemed as though we would have a private balcony. The balcony is in fact shared by four rooms.

Review 43:We were staying in a recently renovated wing of the hotel. Nicely done, with a very comfortable bed and a good bathroom. Friendly staff.

Review 44:Smell of cigaretes in the room; Toilet is in the balcony; Shower has no light; Sink is next to your bed; Parking lot is narrow and 2×2layout (you block someone or will be blocked)

Review 45:They upgraded the room; room equipement

Review 46:- The room was extremely noisy (we stayed in room 15) - the windows are not soundproofed and the balcony door is a bit rickety - there is a bus lane and traffic light under the window, meaning you have heavy traffic noise 24/7. Also the common bathroom shares the wall with the room 15 and if someone decides to take a shower, you will know about it, no matter the time. Also the phone and doorbell at the reception were loud in that room as the reception is just across the corridor (and the door is not tight, not even mentioning soundproofed). - The toilet entrance is on the balcony (meaning you need to get dressed and pass through the area visible from the street to go there)

Review 47:- Location - Price - Staff - Nice and big room, with cute built in shower. - Sunny balcony

Review 48:Еhere were problems with the water in the toilet, which were not eliminated even after several requests.

Review 49:Very convenient location, friendly stuff, daily maid service.

Review 50:All what you'd expect at this price. Nothing fancy - old but functional. No lift so be warned.

Review 51:Good location in mixed neighborhood - not touristy. Walk to Bhai Gardens and Ben Gourion Street. Restaurants and shops abound. Front desk staff very helpful. Parking free and convenient.

Review 52:We booked a room with bathroom but the only available room was without toilet. We used the common toilet and shower that, anyway, were cleen. The room was very small and poor. Absolutely not corresponding to the photos on internet. The bed was absolutely unconfortable.

Review 53:It may be rather noisy at night because of the traffic in the street

Review 54:Historical building (1930), attentive personnel, fridge and microwave in the room, close to the railway station. many shops around

Review 55:Room was in very bad state, the bed almost fell apart (cracking noises),paint hanging from the walls...we complained and were shown other economy rooms but they were all the same. The pictures you see are the renovated rooms and they are ok but these are the deluxe rooms so you pay double...worst address of our trip in Israel.

Review 56:Nothing

Review 57:Noisy place, from the early hours of the morning you can hear the cars recoiling. No heating (in the winter months it bothers you). Poor standard.

Review 58:Good location of the hotel within the city. Friendly staff.

Review 59:the only thing that bothered us was the noice of the street. The windows are very thin, and one window was even missing! There are a lot of busses that pass through this street until late in the evening, so you really need some good ear plugs (which we hadn't). Other than that I really recommend this hotel!

Review 60:Nice and helpful people. Free parking possibility

Review 61:I wanted to go in the cheaper room because of the price, but it was very noisy, so i changed to a higher prices room for 6 nights. It was not looking that nice like in the pictures, for that price in europe or south america you get amazing room, but, Israel is an expensiv country, unfortunatly. So if i compare with the last thought, i was lucky to get a room in the middle of the city for this price.

Review 62:Good location, friendly and helpfull reception stuff 24 hours. Wifi strong in the rooms as well, room cleaned every single day! Cheap and good food in the street, supermarket near by, busses to Akko or to the terminal 1 min from the hotel. Bahai gardens 10 min. walk. AC, tv with a lots of chanels, internationals as well.

Review 63:The room and bed were very comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly. The hotel was in a great location in the city, but was also on a very quiet street. I will definitely return to this hotel the next time I travel to the city!

Review 64:Poor wifi in the room .only at common lounge.no lifts no one to helpcarry your luggages. After travelling in israel/turkey/jordanwe are so used to no lifts and narrow staircase burdensome[2 femalex5 baggage]

Review 65:Friendly & helpful staffs/good location/easy accessible tolocal buses and sheruts[shared taxi minibuses] to places ofinterest.within walking distance to german colony and bahai gardens.

Review 66:cancellation policy sucks big time. only complaint! ;)

Review 67:Kim is a very sweet receptionist and will help you any way she can! Thank you! :) Great room and nice balcony, spacious, and exceptionally clean.

Review 68:Location,10 min walk to german colony,24hr tea making facility beside check in lobby, bus stop nearby, helpful staff,no frills but great value for money,

Review 69:That I couldn't stay longer, had to return home.

Review 70:Clean rooms, clean sheets, close to the bus stop & quiet at night. The staff was friendly & helpful with any request. And if they didn't know they would find the answer. Additional bonus, every staff spoke good English. The greatest aspect was affordability.

Review 71:The very nice guests do all they can to welcome the travellers ,to give information ,and we enjoyed all our stay in Eden Hotel from the beginning to the end

Review 72:Was older and more worn out then expected from pictures. Lightning (TL-tube) could be more cosy.

Review 73:Nice staff. Wifi was good. Free coffee and use of balcony. Breakfast at Herzlstreet. (double)Bed was good

Review 74:2 flights of stairs to reception & 1 extra to our room. No elevator.

Review 75:Staff, especially Kim, very helpful & pleasant! Close to Ba'hai Gardens walking. Beach easily accessible by bus. Nice quaint room.

Review 76:I stayed for 10 days. Very helpful and friendly staff, most everybody speaks English. Room was clean and air-conditioner worked great. I researched all of Israel for a hotel and found Eden is the best deal for the money.

Review 77:All was good, but dont expect the Ritz for the price. You need to climb stairs to get to your, but it is not that bad. Just a matter of getting used to it.

Review 78:Cleanliness, staff attentiveness, price and A/C.

Review 79:Good location, very nice room with balcony, perfect service,so friendly and helpful people, supermarket, restaurants and also post office etc. Are nearby ;-) Thank you for everything!:-)

Review 80:Free upgrade to a room with AC. Friendly & helpful staff. Near German colony & Bahai garden. Bus stop (bus 115 to bus station & bus 3 to Merkaz Hamifratz) is just around the corner. Nice place. Good value for Money.

Review 81:I didn't really pay too much so you can't really expect to stay at the best place! Room was big, and clean! TV didn't work but I wasn't there to watch TV!

Review 82:no elevator, so a few stairs should be climbed, though this is very minor compared to the quality of the hotel, and of course the cheap price!

Review 83:a combination of everything you would want in a hotel, nice room, good and warm service, clean and tidy and by walking distance from every possible service needed, and all that, for a very low price!

Review 84:The first staff I dealt with could hardly speak English, so that was tough. He was a bit rude too, not eager to help with anything. For example, the shower was practically impossible to get a certain temperature it was always boiling hot or ice cold and the shower area is enough room to about spin in a circle so you can't really get in it until the waters right. I went downstairs and asked how to make the shower cooler and much to his dismay he had to follow me upstairs and when he got up, he pointed to the AC that was off and said angrily "HEY! You see there! It's not even on! You flip switch!!" and I go "WHAT? I'm talking about the shower!". "Ohhh the shower! I don't know. That way cold, that way hot". Wow, thanks for all the help. To make things even better, the Wi-Fi was not reliable and the fridge wasn't even plugged in when I came in, so I couldn't refrigerate any of my water and when you unplug fridges they stink!! How does nobody know that??? Keep them plugged in or at least plug it in a few hours before a guest arrives. Is that difficult? The Hadar neighborhood is not that nice but in close distance to Haifa's very few attractions (unless you have several days, I had 2 days and one night to explore). Sirens went off at 3:30am for the first time in 8 years, that was pretty scary. Now let me rewind back to that staff who couldn't speak much English. When I first arrived in the room I thought I should stay an extra night because I really wanted to see all of Haifa and the surrounding area. I went downstairs and asked, the man called the manager who spoke to me and told me it would be 15$ more because it'd be a weekend. I said fine and tried to pay but my CC declined. I was disappointed and said forget it. Later that night when I came back from exploring, the man said I had until a certain time to make up my mind. I was curious if he forgot my card got declined.

Review 85:The bed was comfortable, the AC worked great. I liked having a porch/balcony type area to smoke and look outside.

Review 86:All in all the room was more at the comfort-level of a hostel ratherthan a hotel but not bad. The shower is directly in the room, with nodoor seperating it from the bedroom, so a high level of intimacy betweenthe occupants is a must. The only actually negative point was that theshower wasn't cleaned properly when we arrived with sand of theperson before us still on the ground.

Review 87:The staff was very nice and helpful and gave some good recommendations. The location was alright with buses and shops nearby. There is free wifiand English-language tv in the room. The price-value ratio is good.

Review 88:Noisy street, old shower (inside the room)

Review 89:We enjoy view from our balcony (Bahai Gardens) and port. The balcony was great! The staff was nice and helpful.

Review 90:Booked the "suite" with whirlpool and got a slightly bigger room right next to the reception area. A bit noisy. The whirlpool did not work and the shower head of the separate shower was broken and sprayed everywhere. We did not mind much and only told the staff at checkout, so they had no chance to fix the problem. Hotel has seen better days.

Review 91:Friendly staff with good tips Resonably priced compared to other hotels in Haifa

Review 122:Too much russians in and around hotel. WiFi works only in lobby.

Review 123:Very friendly staff. Great manager.

Review 124:i did not like nothing,it is not a room without a toilet but a dirty toilet that they call a room .t

Review 125:Niet,nothing exept location.

Review 126:Bathroom on balcony - kind of a weird setup Bedroom could use new tile and paint

Review 127:The coffee/computer room was really nice and newly done.
