Reviews for Hotel Della Valle

Review 1:Dreadful food (breakfast and dinner) and staff not interested in customer service. Hotel is designed for large groups - not a good choice of individuals.

Review 2:Good location for temple visit. Free parking nearby. Pleasant pool

Review 3:We had to wait to check in for over an hour, while the staff worked to get the room clean at 4pm. The rooms are kept too warm, even after calling repeatedly to request the air conditioning be turned up.

Review 4:The hotel is clean and the rooms are nice. The pool and grounds are lovely.

Review 5:Don't bother trying to use the spa, you'll get told to go away, if you can find the staff. Don't try to feed children outside of the strict times for strange wedding hall restaurant. We were directed to the pool sidebar for sandwiches only to be told there was one cheese and ham toastie. Not great for hungry vegetarian ten year old. Room was tiny and inadequate - I asked not to overlook the road, was assured the room didn't...it did. Don't bother trying wifi - doesn't work. Don't bother trying to use the pool with the floating chest hairs without the compulsory ill fitting swimhat which the hotel will try to charge you for. They backed down on this when I finally lost it!!

Review 6:Near the temples

Review 7:Lack of clean towels, toilets in the grounds were unclean. Difficult to locate the hotel from train station

Review 8:Pool, jacuzzi, nice design of hotel grounds

Review 9:The wifi only works in the lobby ( although they claim it works everywhere ). Breakfast is very poor , it is not worth to have it included.

Review 10:garden and swimming pool is quite nice

Review 11:Food unimaginative and mostly cold. One waiter continued to cleat the tables noisily during an important speech. Wi-Fi virtually useless.

Review 12:General friendliness of staff.

Review 13:The hotel needs an update. Walls are thin, so you can hear noises from other rooms. It isn't very well located: far from city centre, far from Valle dei Templi and the sea. Despite Agrigento is a very nice place to visit, there's no good public transportation in the city, so the hotel lacks of alternatives to reach touristic places.

Review 14:The garden is very beautiful. The swimming pool is nice but there's an extra tax to pay for towels and head cups.

Review 15:We loved the swimming area and gardens. Mr Simon was the star of the hotel, at the pool bar. Good location for access to town and Temples. There is an excellent restaurant within walking distance and beaches a short drive away.

Review 16:The room were on the noisy street which make it impossible to sleep. The hotel was supposed to have an indoor swimming pool, this was not the case (only one external pool was useable). No restaurant were available close to the hotel.

Review 17:The hotel is a bit worn down. It is obvious that it has seen better days. But still the staff behaves with great respect and kindness.

Review 18:We really enjoyed the luxury and space at the hotel. Bathing caps was amusing but a bit ridiculous. Great breakfasts, very good restaurant and nice pool area.

Review 19:Wifi was not working anywhere in the hotel. We complained a couple of times but staff was not responsive. In the pool area, they charge for towels and swimming caps, which is somehow surprising for a 4 star hotel.

Review 20:The location is close to the temples and the pool is very nice.

Review 21:Amazing swimming pool but needed a shower cap to use it. The hotel charges 2euros per shower cap and they look pretty old and not very clean. So we had to use shower instead of the pool and we were the only guests there. Bathroom was old with some hair on the bathtube. When we shower there was water all over. Bad smell in the corridors. Staff was very unfriendly, did not recommended a place for dinner, did not know the temples schedule and didn't even smiled to us.

Review 22:Good location. Nice garden.

Review 23:Breakfast in windowless basement room

Review 24:Close to the temples and near fantastic trattoria.

Review 25:No bars or resturants nearby without a hike. Large group shared dining room. Very noisy!

Review 26:Nice pool and gardens

Review 27:nothing

Review 28:location

Review 29:No wifi in room and by pool

Review 30:Pool, location and room

Review 31:Breakfast was poor. Service was bad and impolite during breakfast.

Review 32:Location and nice swimming pool

Review 33:The room was small and a 20 min walk to town

Review 34:Great swimming pool and the gardens do have a distant view of the temples

Review 35:You have to wear a bathing cap in the pool Bring your own or they will sell you one

Review 36:Location and pool

Review 37:no WiFi. bad smell in room.

Review 38:nice: pool, bath room.

Review 39:Pool Cleanliness Helpful staff Location

Review 40:smelly environment and rooms AC didn't work properly WIFI didnt work properly unfriendly stuff Brakfast wasn't fresh

Review 41:pool garden

Review 42:The food was poor, the menu options were poor, the service was poor. The checking in and checking out was poor. Even by Sicilian customer service standards, service was poor. Parking is not on site, pool area not operative. Our advice to anyone considering this hotel is BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Review 43:Checking out! Ausschecken!

Review 44:No wellness / swimming pool facilities because of the 1 st of May holiday ... incomprehensible ! As such a rather expensive deal ...

Review 45:Fantastic garden. Good breakfast.

Review 46:Hopefully it was just our room (108) but, we thought the beds and the pillows were on the hard side.  Otherwise, the room was spotless and large while offering access to a large terrace. Ample parking is within 50 metres, the  hotel is very quiet and the breakfast enjoyable. During our stay the free wi fi went down.  This was not a problem, as two of the most beautiful girls in Sicily went to some trouble to have it fixed.  When that failed the manager's computer was made available. Great service.

Review 47:car parking was poor, basically street parking with a crushed stone surface , not enough spaces, especially if a function was held,

Review 48:grounds were well kept, and facilities good. staff helpful and friendly.

Review 49:We had a very strange and unpleasant experience at the swimming pool. The pool waiter obliged us in a very severe way "to wear a t-shirt". This was strange, because we were just wearing bathing suits like the other guests. We were lying on the chairs and reading a book. When we asked him and his chief (who had clearly given him the order to tell us) after the written rules, they were not able to show them. It was a very bad experience. When we told them we would write about this on the internet, they apologised for their behaviour. This hotel has four stars, but they must have been given years ago. Wifi doesn't work in the rooms.

Review 50:The location: close to the temple valley!

Review 51:The wi-fi only in the hall but frankly we're not here to surf the net all the night; the necessity to leave…

Review 52:Competent and charming staff, fantastic breakfast, olympic size swimming pool, like an oasis of green and breeze in this hot place, well situated, dramatic view from our room on the valley of temples and on the garden, the Spritz at 7 pm. And there is a parking place in the street

Review 53:The location of the hotel is favourable for those who want to visit Valley of the Temples, which is about two kilometres away (accessible also by foot, although the way back up the hill is tiring). Agrigento centre is quite far away. Accommodation is at a good level, the biggest advantage of the hotel is a beautiful garden with a large pool.

Review 54:Hotel geared to cater to tour parties. Lots of noise from tour parties on arrival and departure and both air conditioning and hot water went off during the day.no easy places to walk from hotel. Draconian insistence on buying and wearing unflattering and uncomfortable cap in swimming pool.

Review 55:Excellent swimming pool. Lovely gardens. terrace for dinner. good service at pool and in restaurant.Temples at Agrigento well worth visiting. Reasonable value compared to other options in area,

Review 56:Staff was unevenly helpful (of course, my Italian is worse than uneven). The elevator and air conditioning were both malfunctioning, and someareas of the complex did not seem as well-kept-up as others.

Review 57:Nice discount for massage/spa services. Very close to the ruins(Valley of Temples- the reason to visit Agrigento). Also, right next toa cinema (also discounted for hotel guests) with late shows for afterthe ruins (or in case of rain). Pretty gardens.

Review 58:Food in the restaurant is to be avoided. It is average at best and with exploitation pricing for people who don't want to walk the 1km up hill into town. It was the worst meal we had on our 7 day Sicily holiday, and the most expensive.

Review 59:Great location, very close to Valley of the temples.

Review 60:Lovely garden. Good pool. Good breakfast. Easy bus ride outside hotel to valley of temples.

Review 61:The staff was very unfriendly and the public facilities were out of the norm

Review 62:Just garden was great!

Review 63:The rooms was not clean. The staff was not very friendly.

Review 64:The garden.

Review 65:poor braekafast and wi-fi only in the lobby

Review 66:Good attentive personall. Beautifull views from the room and territory of the hotel.

Review 67:I had to park on the sidewalk but at least I was not ticketed.

Review 68:The pool, location, food and friendliness of most employees.

Review 69:Heidy is a very nice person at the lobby. She helped us to find and book touristic activities.

Review 70:Watery juice for breakfast

Review 71:Gardens and pool. Poolside bar

Review 72:This hotel is terrible staff are rude, food disgusting and if you are individual travellers don't go here as it caters for tours only

Review 73:Nothing

Review 74:the worst hotel.service terrible.food terrible.staff abnoxious.i just hated it.this is a coach hotel.

Review 75:Lack of private parking

Review 76:size of the room, garden and pool

Review 77:the room was very small, too noisy

Review 78:the garden
