Hotel Sonnwirt, opening in June 2013, is a traditional inn on Lake Wolfgang, only 1,300 feet away from the village centre of St. Gilgen and 150 feet from the lakeshore and the lakeside promenade.
The hotel offers cosy rooms, some of which have a balcony and lake views. A flat-screen cable TV awaits guests in each room.
A breakfast room is featured on site and from July 2013 on, guests can sample Austrian dishes at Sonnwirt's own restaurant.
The valley station of the cable car to the Zwölferhorn is only a few minutes’ walk away. This mountain features ski slopes as well as groomed winter hiking trails.

Review 1：Location is a little bit far to the lake than i expect (but it is still close in walk distance anyway)

Review 3：I booked a room with a view of the mountain, which we got, but I didn't realize we would be as close to it as we were, but we are thinking of going back, so it can't be that bad.

Review 5：The bathroom was tiny and stunk strongly of urine. Only earl grey tea available as black tea - unless you request it. The buffet was just about adequate. Fruit platter was almost empty when we came down and the remaining fruit brown around the edges. They also have a serious wasp problem

Review 7：Sure the location is close to the lake. But there is a busy highway in between. And even though close to the water, you have to walk for 10ish mins to get to a public swiming place.

Review 9：The location having a nice view had the trade off of Aldo being next to the road. We were therein a weekday and traffic was loud in the morning with windows open and still audible although better with closed windows. Unfortunately showers led to a wet floor all over our new and modern bathroom. Breakfast was not satisfying: It started with cups that were not clean, coffee not being particularly tasty, no wholewheat bread, etc. In Austria and that kind of place I usually see significantly better quality for breakfast.

Review 10：The room was renovated and thus very modern as well as clean. From the balcony one has a nice (partial) view over lake Wolfgangsee.

Review 15：Staff at the breakfast look not appreciate their work. After paying we have noted the manager charged us more that we expected on Booking.com. He was confuse on its explanations and so he accept to refund us the difference.

Review 17：The standard of the restaurant did not live up to that of the rest of the hotel. It was messy and only had 2 waiting staff which meant tables were not cleared. The breakfast buffet was not replenished often enough.

Review 51：No minibar or drinks fridge in room A drinks dispensing machine for both hot and cold drinks would suffice in the foyer for guests to use between meals and would overcome this. Rooms are not air-conditioned for warmer weather.

Mold on wall in back of nightstand.Description of "mountain view" for room is false; should readalley view. Disruptive construction on outside wall started at 8:00am,including hammering. It's unfortunate because from the the outside,this hotel looks nice and has great potential. However, it's stillundergoing renovations and is clearly not yet ready for prime time. Iwould not recommend staying here unless you don't mind renovations,noise, and mold.

The restaurant is a bit messy sometimes andthe food is on the poor side. The bathroom is basically just a part ofthe room, separated with glass, partially cloaked. No fridge in theroom, no roomsafe. Lack of power outlets. Lack of towel for steppingonto for the shower. Lock on the door was broken, also only 1 keycardwas provided.

Review 64：Renovated hotel with cheap materials. Open since june 2013 and new furniture already worn out. So if they don't renew it every year it will become a not so nice place very soon. Breakfast was until 10 but at 9 h30 it was already difficult to get everything. Very small and unpractical bath room. No fridge, no hair dryer, no safe...still saving for this maybe?

Review 65：Room with lake view! The view is worth it, you have a balcony where you can sit and relax and that's nice. Location is very good, close to village. Parking at the hotel and you are allowed to place your bikes in their garage. No noise from the street.

Review 71：First of all I want to mention that the hotel when I stayed in was recently open (During June 2013) so some facilities were under constructions such as GYM, Sauna and the restaurant was partially opened (Fully opened on 28th of June 2013), so I could not give it 10/10. The staff of the hotel (Peter and Fernando etc.), the location of the hotel and the appartment's lake view were wonderful and attracted me to the hotel. Supermarker (Spar 2 min. by car) Salzburg (30 min. by car) Designer outlet of Salzburg (40 min. by car) Lake (2 min. wake) Haus (house) of Nature (30 min. by car) many activities nearby (cable car, boat, train up to the mountain etc.) and the friendly staff will guide you.
