Reviews for Hotel Riviera Ristorante Fofò

Review 1:still the same breakfast for 7 days!! Close to main road, so you coudn´t have open window because of noise

Review 2:see view, close to city center with lot of restaurants, very nice and comfortable rooms

Review 3:The hotel is alright, although way to expensive for what you get. Butthe problem here is the staff. We stayed during the yearly city festival. We noticed early in the evening when we got back from the beach that there was quite some noise, but thought it would quiet down after we'd finished dinner. When we got back around midnight the noise was just brutal. Just outside the hotel was a massive disco with pumping music. Entering our room was just like trying to go to sleep in a disco - impossible! The party lasted till about 5 am in the morning. I don't blame the hotel for the city festival. HOWEVER, they should really have warned us for this when booking and we'd never booked. When I told them this checking out, I was at least hoping for some discount, if not total refund since we hadn't been able to sleep at all. To my suprise, we were instead greeted by total disrespect and no care for that our visit had been totally ruined. For this reason, I recommend NO ONE to stay in this hotel. HORRIBLE!

Review 4:The location was amazing, we had a sea view room which was definitely worth the extra charge listening to the ocean at night. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but recommend Cormorano near the square and La guardiola near the castle for a fine dining experience. The pool was lovely and the spa was top class, physical therapy standard massage. Staff very helpful with all queries and needs. Overall a great experience, we just loved Castlesardo. We

Review 5:The rooms need to have a safe. Since we're not big fans of cold cuts and cheese in the morning, some more choice could be added to the buffet breakfast.

Review 6:The hotel is located on the western outskirts of Castelsardo and a bit of an uphill walk into town, (nothing too strenuous). We loved its location right across the street from the beach. The staff was courteous and friendly. The room was very clean. Loved the free underground parking and free wifi.

Review 7:The spa and pool area were excellent. Very stylish and well designed. The room decor and frontage could use a little modernisation but overall a great hotel. Don't let the outside view put you off.

Review 8:The rooms were very basic and not what you would expect of a 4 star hotel. There was mould in the bathroom and shower head so full of lime scale that water came out more like you squeezed the end of a hose pipe. The wifi only worked in reception and not in the rooms. The breakfast was very limited, no cook choice just small cold buffet. If this hotel was in the uk I doubt if it would get a 1 star. Vastly over priced for the standard of hotel

Review 9:The pool area was very modern and well kept, and the underground car park was very usefull in an area where parking can be a problem

Review 10:We were staying for 7 nights in August. During that week there was on Sunday and Thursday really loud music from the bar at the beach, which is right in front of the hotel. Although the sea view rooms were properly sound proof for other noises, this music was so loud that the hotel room transformed into a disco. It went on until 1.30 and until 1.00. The staff of the hotel made some calls to ask if the volume could be turned down or if the music could be stopped, so they were very helpful.

Review 11:Staff, pool, spa

Review 12:As told in the positive critic, the staff speak mostly italian (some of them speak a bit of English, though). This is not negative, because they really try to understand and be understood, and if not possible, they quickly locate someone who can help you. I just didn't want to leave this gap empty.

Review 13:- The staff: absolutely perfect. They didn't speak English very well (nor Spanish), but it was easy for us to comunicate with them, considering the effort they put on it. Besides, there is one employee that speaks both languages almost perfectly. Important to mention that you won't find any member of the staff looking at you while not smiling. - The cleanliness: Brilliant (literally!). They clean the rooms everyday (this could upset some people, though), and they're methodic. The swimming pool was receiving cleaning care the whole day. The sleeping: nice beds (I talk about this as far as I can, considering I've stayed here once), nice windows to avoid noise. The TVs have a sound level cap; you cannot turn the volume over 14 points, so neighbours won't disturb your sleep with this. - The location: the hotel has a nice beach just by walking across the street. Nice views and minimum effort if you want to relax and avoid taking the car daily. - The food: the hotel's restaurant (Fofò) is great. As well as it is quite expensive, the food's quality is proportional and really costs what you pay for it. The pool: I have to insist. The pool is clean, well-maintained and has hydro-massage and two little waterfalls, and if you're thinking about swimming caps... no one will tell you to use it.

Review 14:2 nights of no sleep since there was blaring music from the beach. The standard of the rooms is disappointing in relation to the set expectation from the website. Pool is new and nice, the hotel needs updating to the same standard.

Review 15:The staff was very friendly and the pool was nice. The food is very good albeit the restaurant empty and outdated.

Review 16:We had a beautiful clean room with balcony overlooking the beach and views of Castelsardo. The pool is amazing and it is connected to a spa. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, not a huge amount of choice though. Free parking in an underground car park was an added bonus as it would have been difficult to find a place to park otherwise. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Castelsardo.

Review 17:Breakfast wasn't amazing

Review 18:We both really enjoyed our stay here! The rooms were lovely with stunning views of Castelsardo (Sea view balcony). The pool was also gorgeous and quiet, a great place to relax. Would definitely recommend!

Review 19:nil

Review 20:close to beach and eaterys

Review 21:having a lift.great wi/fi.great breakfast

Review 22:The coffee , it was cold.

Review 23:Excellent service on reception!

Review 24:Rather overpriced. Average breakfast.

Review 25:Excellent location. Swimming pool. Spa facilities. Car parking on site. Pleasant staff.

Review 26:A little pricey for the type of hotel, but it is expected during the high season in July.

Review 27:Location, easy access to the castle,we needed parking.

Review 28:The pictures made a much better impression than for the reality, noise from the street.

Review 29:Big bathroom, parking in the basement.

Review 30:Very very basic breakfast, you would expect more from 4*

Review 31:We likwd the location and pool, otherwise feels like 2-3 star hotel

Review 32:The road, as expected was a bit noisy during the day.

Review 33:The view from the room and general location.

Review 34:Breakfast was ok but the choice is a bit limited.

Review 35:Location, pool & spa facilities, pleasant and helpful staff.

Review 36:Restaurant is expensive. We paid 80 euro for one fish (= 40 euro each + not such a large portion).

Review 37:Nice swimming pool. Great location.

Review 38:- WiFi was free via booking.com but sometimes there were connection issues - Although the breakfast was OK, at the end of our trip (7 nights), we were tired of eating the same breakfast over and over again because there was no variation what so ever.

Review 39:- Location is perfect; near by the sea - Good underground parking - Cheap and good restaurants in the neighborhood - Very nice swimming pool - Clean rooms and shower - For Italian standards, the breakfast was OK. It consisted out of very sweet breads, sandwiches with choice of cheese, ham and salami, egg, yoghurt, cornflakes and some fruit (which looked not very fresh..). A waiter serves you your drinks (coffee, cappuccino, milk, orange juice)

Review 40:I do not know what to say

Review 41:Cozy nice hotel, friendly staff. Special thanks to Pierre. The hotel is conveniently located a few steps from the beach, at the foot of the castle. The balcony offers a beautiful view of the ancient city. Impressive sunsets. I recommend to visit this fabulous city all romantics and lovers.

Review 42:uninterested staff; this is a sea side hotel, but there were no wash-line facilities in the rooms without sea view; not all of the tourist companies brochures were presented at the reception.

Review 43:breakfast was excellent, big bathroom, free private parking, very clean

Review 44:No gym facilities. No variation at all for breakfast (eg fruit occasionally) and although the restaurant opened out onto a sea front patio, no-one was allowed to use it!

Review 45:Great location for sea, beach, castle and restaurants. Front bedrooms had nice balconies with full sea and castle views. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 46:This hotel was beautiful and we had a sea view room and the view was just amazing, it's great location to resturants bars and local shops and of course the beach.

Review 47:The service at the hotels resturants was very poor, people at the same table had their dinner bought out at all different times. One persons dinner was forgotten. Also we had to leave at 7am to go to the airport but their was nobody at reception so we old check out and were unable to pay in cash like I had requested.

Review 48:Hotel rooms were very big and the whole hotel was very clean

Review 49:The wi-fi did not extend to my room for iPhone or iPad. I prefer abuffet breakfast to waiter service for choice and for ease. I did nottry the restaurant other than breakfast so cannot comment.

Review 50:The location is excellent. The room was large and comfortable with aterrific view of the castle and beach from the large balcony. Free carparking under the hotel. The staff were very pleasant.

Review 51:Breakfast very limited in choice could be so much better with fresh fruit, fresh juices, larger choice of cereals, and a toaster for the mornings, cheese and ham, etc. all extra charges. The restaurant was extremely expensive for the quality of food served in the evening compared to many other restaurants. Hotel management should take peoples comments seriously and make improvements as suggested on many reviews.

Review 52:ARST coach from Alghero airport with stop just outside hotel. Small beach right across the road. Staff very friendly and room cleanliness excellent. Great location to explore the area.

Review 53:Unfortunately we only stayed one night, but I'll definitely choose this hotel when I return to lovely Castelsardo and recommend it to friends. The staff are excellent - efficient, customer-oriented and, I think, genuinely interested in making the hotel guests feel at home. We didn't try the restaurant, but heard that it's good.

Review 54:Staff were first class very obliging and welcoming, no request was a problem

Review 55:Friendly and serviceminded staff. Good location. Very nice and clean pool.

Review 56:clumsy shower

Review 57:the location is perfect, with views on the sea, the castle, and the town
