Reviews for Colleverde Park Hotel
Review 1:Our room was clean and properly equipped but totally lacking in character or charm: simply a place to shower and sleep. "Hiking" uphill from the hotel to the center of Agrigento requires considerable time (at least 15 minutes) and effort and might not be suitable for many visitors. The WiFi was poor in the public areas and totally useless in our room.
Review 2:The cheerful dining room faces the hotel's wonderful garden. The breakfast buffet is both complete and nicely presented. The hotel is well placed for visiting Agrigento's fabulous Valley of the Temples, and free parking is available. The public areas of the hotel are large, attractive and comfortable.
Review 3:All good
Review 4:Lovely older style hotel with lots of sitting areas and wonderful decor. Room very clean and spacious with good size bathroom. Best thing was the large gardens overlooking temples. Very well maintained. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel Restaurant was closed in December but recommended a very good restaurant just 10 minutes walk called re di girgenti. Food and view of temples excellent. Breakfast at hotel was very good.
Review 5:Gorgeous location with a view of Temple of Concord from our window! Helpful staff. Beautiful gardens surrounding this excellent hotel. The courtesy of the local police who helped us get back to the hotel in our car in the dark after visiting the temples!
Review 6:For Europe the hotel is 2 stars, as "look-and-feel". It is and looks from the 80s. Not bad, but for sure not 4 stars. Door key traditional, not electronic. Restaurant is closed for the evening (maybe because the "off-season" period?).
Review 7:Location - the hotel is close to the Valley of the temples - 20 minutes walking Parking in the yard - but in November i could have parked in the monuments :)). 25 degrees temperature and no turist around. In the Valley we met 2 other couples in 5 hours walking. Very very good restaurant across the hotel. - charging extra 2 euros/person for coperto. Very nice garden with a great view. Perfect for breakfast / coffee / stretching in the morning.... and the garden looks well maintained Nice view from the room Quiet, generally ok
Review 8:Staff were delightful and friendly. Given we were a couple amongst different sometimes loud groups they made efforts without being asked to ensure we were looked after. They assisted with directions and a small problem we had with our rental car. Grounds are beautiful and only three minutes from the Valley of the temples.
Review 9:This is a lovely hotel ideally situated for seeing the Valley of the Temples. What makes it really special are the staff who are very friendly and helpful and we'd like to give a special mention to Stefania and Michele.
Review 10:Our experience was excellent.
Review 11:Everything. Wonderful garden. Lovely night views of the Temples. Friendly, proficient and efficient staff.Quiet, even for a place with one night tours coming in.Good parking.
Review 12:Staff was efficient but lacked warmth. Standard double room was a tight fit. Shuttle to town not available. Taxi 10 E, 15 E on Sunday. Food at dinner was disappointing.
Review 13:Location Is within walking distance of East Gate of temple ruins. Beautiful décor and grounds.
Review 14:If your going to the Valley of the Temples this is a great place to stay. Close to the site and very reasonable. The staff was excellent. Enjoyed our time there.
Review 15:Rooms could a tad larger. They need to trim the bushes from the sign so it is easier to find. Bed was very hard.
Review 16:Breakfast was very nice. The grounds were stunning. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. We enjoyed two delicious dinners. A really great location.
Review 17:old furniture and not very large rooms
Review 18:excellent staff and delicious breakfast,,very good position with beautifull view over the valley of temple; superb garden .
Review 19:Nothing
Review 20:Perfect location for Valley of the Temples. Had a perfect view of them from our room. Excellent check in experience. Lovely gardens and public areas.
Review 21:It's a small thing, but we felt we paid too much when we upgraded our room. A fairly big price difference for a view and a bottle of inexpensive local wine, considering the hotel was far from full on that day. Bed was very hard, otherwise, room was comfortable.
Review 22:Great view location overlooking Valley of the Temples, high on a hill on edge of the downtown area. Easy walk down to the valley, but take a taxi back up. Front desk staff were excellent, especially Michael.
Review 23:a little bit old. but clean
Review 24:The location is very good.. 5 mins driving to temple. Can find a pizzeria a restaurant nearby. Do not forget to try the hotel restaurant, the view is fantastic and the grill fish is perfect. crispy yummy.
Review 25:Very basic hotel with bear minimum amenities, Beds were very uncomfortable. Very limited parking. Front desk staff not friendly at all Kind of rude.
Review 26:Greta location walking distance to the Valley of the temples. Beautiful garden area. Restaurant staff very friendly.
Review 27:First of all, the address of the hotel on the Booking pages was wrong. On the Booking Reservation confirmation the address was Via dei Templi (without the number) so we assumed that when we arrive in that street there would be an appropriate sign to guide us or that a Hotel would be seen from the street, but that was not the case. After driving up and down the street we had to phone the Hotel when they told us the accurate address (it was a small street not very visible from the main street). When we typed that address to the GPS we found the hotel easily. We were obviously upset with this scenario, but the receptionist didn't even apologize. So, please state a correct address in which the hotel is or put a visible sign on the street!
Review 28:We stayed for one day. The location was good, few minutes by car to the Vale di Templi and to the city centre. Room was big and clean. Breakfast was average.
Review 29:We had a meal in the hotel as walk to the main town is quite a distance. The meal was the poorest we had in Sicily - when you read the description it sounded amazing but was pretty standard. But it was an experience to eat in the garden watching the sun set over the temples. The hotel could really do with a pool as it is a very very hot place and most travellers spend a hot day in the valley and its hard to cool down. Probably a big ask but it would make all the difference as the garden is amazing but just too hot to sit in and enjoy (in August!)
Review 30:Fantastic location as can view the valley of the temples from restaurant. Amazing garden to sit in and relax. Very close to the valley of the temples - you can even walk. We were lucky to be there for the Agrigento jazz festival and saw amazing jazz late in the night amongst the ancient ruins. Hotel is modern but interior is lovely. Staff very helpful. Make the walk up to the main town as despite guidebooks saying Agrigento is the poorest town in Sicily we thought it charming and had an amazing meal there.
Review 31:beds are a bit hard, breakfast average, Wifi works but keep dropping.
Review 32:Friendly staff. Great location if you are heading to the Temples, and by car, I mean. Nice garden inside, parking easy.
Review 33:I would have liked more information on how to get to the valley of the temples - perhaps a map showing gates and carparks
Review 34:Very comfortable hotel - very good breakfast and dinner in the restaurant.
Review 35:My wife has back problems and found the bed most uncomfortable.
Review 36:Beautiful setting, the surrounding gardens are lovely. Excellent location to the Valley of the Temples. Great view towards the Temples from the restaurant. Excellent breakfast.
Review 37:Excellent helpful staff. Especially the owner, a charming lady with old world grace. The golden view of the temples at sunset from the gardens should not be missed. Easy to find and easy parking in hotel grounds. Great value for the money. Even after we checked out, they welcomed us back to the hotel to cool off and use the restrooms. Much appreciated after the scorching heat.
Review 38:Everything .the food was excellent and the view from our table for dinner looking over the temples was magic .The staff were the best we have had for many years and loved them . Hotel had a great feeling and location was fantastic ..Highly recommend
Review 39:This is more a 2 star than 3. They have a fantastic balcony on the Valley of Temples but for some strange reason they serve breakfast in a dull room inside the hotel.
Review 40:Good location, quite, convenient rather than pleasurable
Review 41:I couldn't get a room with a view of the ruins by using your booking services; I could only get such a room by directly booking.
Review 42:convenience to the archaeological site. Parking on hotel property.
Review 43:Not convenient for visiting the old town of Agrigento. A taxi is recommended, which can be booked at reception. The restaurant is very average, service slow and food not inspiring.
Review 44:Good location if visiting the ancient temples and within walking distance of the excellent museum
Review 45:Although dining room is spacious and staff want to please, dinner is best avoided in our experience. Our cooked fish arrived whole and waiter then butchered it to bits when trying to fillet it at our request. Other guests spoke to us afterwards saying they thought the food at dinner was "disgusting". This was not our experience, but we would not eat there again.
Review 46:Good room, clean, so no problems there. Location good too. Being a hotel, there is plenty of space to move around in public areas. We found it adequate and good value for a one night stay. Breakfast was fairly good with a wide choice on offer. Coffee however was from a DIY push-button machine, making passable coffee.
Review 47:Check in was quite late at 15:00.
Review 48:We only came to visit the temples so the location was excellent for one night. Food at the restaurant was lovely and the gardens and view were stunning. At night you could see the temples lit up from the gardens.
Review 49:Unfortunately a pool would have been that much better!
Review 50:The location near the Ancient Greek/Roman Temples, the large landscaped gardens, and tranquil location, dining experience, helpful staff
Review 51:The hotel was midway between the old town and the temples, both being a bit too far to walk if you are staying for only one night.
Review 52:We travelled around Sicily by hire car so convenient parking was important in each hotel we stayed. Parking here was good. Hotel is easy to find.
Review 53:To my girlfriend's disappointment, breakfast was served in the dining room, and not the patio outside with the view of the temples. Internet connection speeds were very slow.
Review 54:Good location within twenty minutes' walk distance of both central Agrigento and the Valley of Temples. Also, the presence of a public PC, an increasingly rare treat for smartphone refuseniks like myself. Friendly staff.
Review 55:The architecture of the hotel seems from the 70s and the room was small and of an oldish /70s fashion. The bathroom was too old for a 4 stars
Review 56:The location overlooking the temples of the Valle dei Templi, the easy access, the free parking, the huge amazing garden full of a large variety of plants well kept
Review 57:Our room was comfortable & parking was available onsite. It was a 1.5 km walk to the Valley of the Temples. Breakfast was good with a varied selection of foods.
Review 58:Towels were so old and rooms need renovations. The grounds were lovely but they wouldn't let us eat breakfast, lunch or dinner out there.
Review 59:Breakfast pâté rides were great.
Review 60:Our room was barely larger than the bed. Our "view room" had no view unless you stuck your head out the window. There was an enormous tour bus parked out front so the parking lot was hard to use.
Review 61:Dining room efficient and friendly. The food was good. Plumbing worked well.
Review 62:Rooms where a little spartin with small bathrom.
Review 63:The beautiful grounds with wonderful views and attentive staff. For a hotel resturant this one rates very high. Not only in quality of food, but also in excellent service.
Review 64:The neon above the closet was blinking/needed to be replaced. No problem.
Review 65:The very informative reception, we were upgraded into room with view if the valley. Friendly staff. Glorious breakfast. Champagne, pro secco, local cheese etc. beautiful garden with view on both largest temples illuminated at night.
Review 66:I was feeling unwell and resting. The woman who said she is'owner' (spoke no english) and was very unpleasant, telling meto move my clean bare feet from the couch. She did not offer help, noconcern for my welfare. &Quot;we have guests" she said but not 1guest was around at the time. Very upsetting and unhelpful. Horribleattitude for hospitality business.
Review 67:Lyra, at reception, was a very helpful lady.
Review 68:There is nothing not to like! Maybe a fluffier pillow- ?
Review 69:Only 15 minute walk to the entrance of the Valley of the Temples. Hotel features exquisitely designed gardens. Like being in a Botanic garden with acres of terraced spaces and a view of the valley. spectacular whether day or night.
Review 70:Staff were knowledgable and helpful. Hotel was clean and comfortable with garden area very inviting, the view of the temple from the garden is spectacular.
Review 71:Nothing bad, the whole experience was better than we expected.
Review 72:Very conveniently located, close to the entrance to the temple. Excellent facilities, comfortable rooms, property includes a beautiful garden with a view to the temples. Very good and varied breakfast.
Review 73:In room, flooring was lifting off and water leaked out of tub/shower onto floor. In restaurant, the quality of dinner was below expectation.
Review 74:Beautiful Oriental carpets in public areas and lovely garden with view of Valley of Temples. Great lobby and bar areas.
Review 75:Locating the hotel was a bit difficult - road sign faces only one way.
Review 76:Hotel was well located for the Valley of the Temples and we had a room with a view of two of the temples. we were given excellent service and informative help from all reception staff.
Review 77:None
Review 78:Friendly, helpful staff. Hotel is old fashioned in a nice way and rooms are reasonable size and comfortable. Location is excellent for visiting the temples (about 1km).
Review 79:nothing. but i just wonder that the water ,many people collect it at the south of the intersection, is spring water? Is the water quality not very good in the city?
Review 80:free parking, friendly staff, good view on temple, close to the temple valley, there is a very beautiful garden on the ground floor, it's a good place to watch the sunset
Review 81:We knew there would be breakfast (which was very good and included bacon and eggs, various pastries, fruit etc.) but we were pleasantly surprised that there was a restaurant. Dinner was excellent with many choices and priced very reasonably. The pasta was fantastic the tenderloin was very good and the side dishes were generous. The room was very comfortable and had a nice sized bathroom. The service was first rate and very helpful. Onsite free parking and close to the Temple Valley, though not something I would walk.
Review 82:Located on a hill overlooking the Valle dei Templi, it has a spectacular garden and terrace area. The breakfast is a wonderful combination of items and good value for the money. The décor in the common areas is warm and comfortable
Review 83:Hard to get service in the garden .
Review 84:Location excellent , delightful grounds for relaxing after a temple viewing day , comfortable rooms and good restaurant ( few others close by !) .
Review 85:The tour group that ran them out of vanilla ice cream one night - just kidding
Review 86:This was definitely the right place to stay to see the temples, easy walking distance. We were pleasantly surprised at how well appointed and "upscale" the hotel was, yet understated and fairly priced. The staff was very helpful and even helped us with travel arrangements. The restaurant was quite good for dinner and their breakfasts were plentiful and offered a wide selection. We currently would return to this comfortable hotel.
Review 87:A very warm welcome when we arrived and the staff were always extremely friendly and attentive. A lovely room with a view of one of the temples and food was excellent.
Review 88:Entrance located on difficult road junction and difficult to find in the dark even with the benefit of GPS. Whilst there was signage it was difficult to see with the hotel in its elevated position Airconditionining in rooms was poor, noisy in rooms and ineffective in dining room.
Review 89:Value for money but the overall experience could have been better. Well located for attractions.
Review 90:My only complaint and I verbalized it upon my checkout was that although the restaurant and the service was excellent, I was "put off" by the food served for the most part. The pasta with the pesto had way too much sauce and the pork tenderloins the first night were simply bland. I have been in Italy many times and was at the hotel after 6 weeks of being here this time, so I know the flavors and the excellence one comes to expect in Italy. I discussed it with the receptionist at the desk and he explained that this is a hotel which gets lots of tourists in on big buses and they are catering more to that level of dining. I know I am a foodie and am happy to say I just enjoy wonderful food, to me it is an important part of each day, sampling the local cuisine, etc.
Review 91:I found all the staff quite friendly, especially the 2 receptionists at the desk and the woman who worked in the patio bar outside and on the breakfast shift as well. I loved my room and was so happy that I upgraded because I could look onto the Valle dei Templi anytime I wanted to!! The 1st night around 4 am there was an amazing lighting/thunder storm and I could watch it and do a video on my phone as well as the "show" was simply amazing lighting up all the Greek temples even more than they normally are through the night! Parking was also great, easy in and spacious!
Review 92:For those who don't mind a bit of a walk the Colleverde is a great location to explore the wonders of Agrigento. At the end of the day retire to the gardens for a cocktail and view of the temples. What a sight!
Review 93:Nothing to complain about
Review 94:Location to temples and town center. Very helpful staff, delicious breakfast choices, lovely gardens and public spaces, clean and quiet rooms.
Review 95:Wonderful location overlooking and within comfortable walking distance of the Valley of Temples. Lovely gardens. All staff were very helpful and pleasant. Very good food both at breakfast and dinner.
Review 96:The views of the Valley of Temples was stunning - you can see the two major temples and lit up at night. There is a lot of outside seating, an outside bar and a view comfy lobby / lounge area to sit in. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Review 97:We arrived pretty much on impulse and booked the hotel as we walked out of the station. A quick taxi drive later and we were checking in. Friendly and efficient service, with reception staff who were very happy to answer queries and offer suggestions on how best to approach a visit to the Temples etc.. Lovely rooms (ours overlooked the Valley of the Temples) with immaculate bathrooms and lovely toiletries. We did not eat in the restaurant but breakfast the following morning was plentiful and staff on hand were extremely courteous. You could partake of sparkling wine which was on display by the fruit juices (we were too chicken at 8 am and were about to embark on the Temples in any event). The outside gardens and terrace were lovely and peaceful and the hotel was very quiet when we visited (the last weekend of August). Although we would normally stay in smaller B&Bs, this was a lovely surprise and would suit all tastes. All in all, thoroughly recommended and we would definitely stay again.
Review 98:This hotel is superior in every way- Well located for the Valley of the Temples An exceptionally pleasant, Helpful staff An excellent restaurant A pleasant garden setting
Review 99:We were unable to use the outdoor dining area on the night of our arrival as it was being used for a private function.
Review 100:We stayed at this hotel to visit the Valley of the Temples. It was very comfortable and is set in beautifully kept gardens. We enjoyed our meal in the outdoor covered dining area.
Review 101:Breakfast. Large groups at hotel.
Review 102:Staff was very nice. We did an alfresco "picnic" in the outside seating area at the rear of the hotel but we should have known it was a "bar" area for the hotel. Manager came over after a while, he was extremely apoligetic to tell us we couldn't eat there. I think he was more embarrased than we were! That said-breakfast was very poor. Hotel caters to large groups and they were overwhelmed in the morning- coffee was ice cold (problem with the machine I guess)-but when we sent it back-again they were apologetic. Ham at breakfast had gone off. Overall poor quality"international" breakfast. Overall-comfortable rooms, many with with a view to the temples-excellent location.
Review 103:All good.
Review 104:We really enjoyed the spacious gardens overlooking the Valley of Temples.A lovely place to relax after a busy day sightseeing. We had a delicious dinner. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. It was great to have secure car parking available.
Review 105:Very dated decor Average breakfast verging on the cheap Awful dinner in the restaurant - pre-cooked bad quality food catering for tourist groups and also over-priced.
Review 106:Excellent Location for valley Friendly staff Clean room
Review 107:The location of this hotel was excellent with views of the Valley of the Temples from the gorgeous surrounding gardens. The restaurant also offered great views and the breakfast was plentiful. It was within close proximity of the city centre as well as the temples. I highly recommend this hotel.
Review 108:There is nothing to dislike about this hotel.
Review 109:We arrived by car to find a free onsite carpark, were upgraded to a room with a view of the temples and a spa bath, we ate dinner on a terrace looking over the valley, the temples and the sea, and they served prosecco with a very substantial breakfast including bacon and eggs. All of this was provide with a smile. Superb.
Review 110:lack of pool
Review 111:restaurant excellent food and service with a fantastic view overlooking the temple valley Easy to locate and good parking facilities and very nice receptionists
Review 112:Nothing.
Review 113:Location's great. Nice garden. Very good breakfast. Dining at the patio is an excellent choice because food is very good and waiters and maitre are very proffesional. We enjoyed are staying very much.
Review 114:The room air conditioning was inadequate. Even when set on high the room was overly warm at all hours of the day and night.
Review 115:The hotel is conveniently located near the archaeological park. Public rooms were much more attractively furnished than the bedrooms which were small and simple. Patio dining with a view of the sea and the doric temple was wonderful. Excellent food and extremely professional staff and service.
Review 116:The fact that we had to leave so soon and with beautiful gardens, pavilions and Sicilian summer heat, I could not find a swimming pool ? I hope it is planned for the "next" stage as they have room for one. We would certainly have used it and ordered more drinks.
Review 117:The room was a good size but the best was out the window with the sight of the Val di Templi stretched out in front of us and the sea behind it. The hotel is spacious with lovely gardens and common areas and a short walk to the famous Temples. At sunset they are magnificent.
Review 118:Nothing at all
Review 119:The location was super with spectacular views of the Temples. It was easy to find just follow the road to the Temples and it will be on your right hand side, We had a lovely room which overlooked the Temples. The hotel itself is exactly as you see it on Bookings.com. The gardens are must to be seen as is the restaurant where we had the most beautiful meal. The staff were helpful. There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this hotel. Only think that would have made our trip even better was if the hotel had a pool as the heat was exhausting!!!!!
Review 120:Wifi was not reachable from all area.
Review 121:really good breakfast, friendly staff, good sized rooms (although old decor). Very close to the Valley of Temples in Agrigento.
Review 122:Airconditioning was not working in our room. If you are booking check first to see if ac is working properly
Review 123:Beautiful hotel, great views and very pleasant surroundings.
Review 124:We arrived 30 mins before check in time and unable to go to the room.
Review 125:Very professional and charming staff, good food well presented. A very ‘corporate’ style of hotel.
Review 126:Superb location within walking distance of the temples. Beautiful terrace and garden overlooking the valley. Very good value.
Review 127:Spiral staircase to reach our room
Review 128:Our large terrace had stunning views
Review 129:Nil
Review 130:The friendly staff and the beautiful garden
Review 131:We had a problem with our reservation. The management took care of no with no extra charge. Thanks, Stefania!
