Reviews for Hotel Del Viale

Review 1:Staff almost don't speak english.

Review 2:Hotel Del Viale has really central location on a main street, very close to the railway station. Room was nice with tv, ac, good wi-fi and comfortable beds. Breakfast is plentiful.

Review 3:Could not have found without their signs, even with GPS. Noisy at night due to bar noise below. Breakfast ok.

Review 4:Good value for the price. Room was small, but clean. Property is well located and within walking distance to two top rated restaurants

Review 5:Wi-fi sometimes didn't worked. Small breakfast without vegetables at all. It's too loud outside.

Review 6:Friendly staff. Hotel is in the city center. Easy to find it for the first time.

Review 7:Nice-sized room, comfortable for two. Best wifi we had in all of Sicily. Staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was a nice assortment, a little of everything with good coffee.

Review 8:No hotel parking place, mould on the bathroom ceiling, the view from the window, low wifi.

Review 9:Earlier check-in, comfortable bed, nice price for city centre, breakfast buffet.

Review 10:The room was clean and nice. Everything was working and the staff was helpful and nice. It has quite good location, not noisy, but in the same time close to center. If I would be at Agrigento I would stay there again.

Review 11:- bathrooms must be renovated (no enough room in shower area) - pillows too hard (however, it's everywhere in Sicily, very strange)

Review 12:- a very central location - parking infront of the hotel - strong and fast wifi signal

Review 13:Breakfast was very very poor!!!!!! Rotten fruit and hardly any, you had to ask for everything, stale cereal, no tea bags or milk ready for you. More staff needed to help out in the morning with breakfast. Bathroom needs maintenance and updating! Broken toilet seat and uncomfortable shower. Wifi didn't work properly in the bedroom.

Review 14:Nice big room, helpful receptionist, great location in the centre.

Review 15:The bar next door to the hotel stayed noisy until 2 am. And like almostevery hotel I stayed at in Italy, the room WiFi was abysmal; in and outliterally every 2-3 minutes.

Review 16:Hotel is recently renovated. Nothing fancy, but clean good-sized rooms.Staff was very friendly and nice. Good choices at breakfast

Review 17:Easy to find when instructions were sent to us beforehand. Location good short walking distance from centre. Were lucky to have parking in front of hotel

Review 18:First room had such a bad odor that we needed to change rooms. Second room had such a noisy rattling air conditioner that it made sleeping difficult. Bathroom fan died while we were there. Breakfast was minimal.

Review 19:Fairly close to buses to archeological sites

Review 20:small rooms, not very clean, situated on a back street which is situated in a close vicinity of a noisy bar. Hard to get a good night sleep. Also the air conditioning installation is old and smelly

Review 21:good wifi, walking distance from the center

Review 22:air con didn't work which made for a hot night

Review 23:great location for wandering to the old town and easy to find free parking nearby. clean and comfortable

Review 24:If I will go there again, I would prefer San Leone coast town. Hotel rooms are two flats under a apartments that have 12 flats. Therefore I am affraid of landslide or earthquake that come suddenly.

Review 25:Location is nearby train station, famous and most greenfull street which has beautiful landscape and view of temples.

Review 26:When you see the photos you expect a new-nice hotel well located, but at the end it is an old hotel, half redecorated with some ugly furniture mixed with old tiles, 15 min away of the centre. No views (nor good neither bad) cause the hotel is located in a grey, small street.

Review 27:Nothing

Review 28:There wasn't a great variety for breakfast. But the service was very good.

Review 29:Staff were very helpful and very nice. Room was lovely and cleaned every day. It's very close to the centre of town (a 7 min stroll). Very quiet area, making it perfect at night time.

Review 30:Poor heating, noise from nightclub. Basic room, no window.

Review 31:Location for town and historical sites

Review 32:Friendly staff, clean room and facilities.

Review 33:The room has mold. View through a window in an adjacent building wall. The room required repair

Review 34:Very good breakfest. Very nice and attentive personal

Review 35:There is a pub below and beside that has people yelling and carrying on until after 3AM. No sleep.

Review 36:Cleanliness and staff

Review 37:None

Review 38:in the middle of the city, and close to the temples (10min drive)

Review 39:Got a room in a first floor - in the morning noise from street and breakfast room woke us up.

Review 40:Dormitory like facility

Review 41:Very helpful and hospitable management

Review 42:The staff is really helpful and friendly. The room is agreeable.

Review 43:Hotel in the city centre, willing staff.

Review 44:L hotel

Review 45:La gelateria vicina

Review 46:We stayed there Friday and Sat night, very noisy due to nightclub on the street below hotel

Review 47:Staff helpful

Review 48:very close to the city center, but still car could be parked, calm street receptionist gave a free bottle of red wine as welconme drink

Review 49:Old decorations, close to parking, near attractions, nice staff but not always on duty, simple breakfast

Review 50:The confort of the room in general. No space in front of the hotel to unload the luggage.

Review 51:Spacious triple room, friendly stuff, excellent breakfast, clean bathroom. One of my best experiences.

Review 52:Shower (size).

Review 53:Price, location & staff.

Review 54:location, breakfast, kind staff...

Review 55:none

Review 56:most delightful host, the best breakfast with fresh baking, great terrace to unwind on and to enjoy the views, rooms are beautifully furnished.

Review 57:The breakfast and the poor natural light

Review 58:The staff and location

Review 59:Too noisy in the morning

Review 60:Good location, service and friendliness of staff. Value for money

Review 61:We enjoyed staying at this hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 62:The bathroom was really obsolate

Review 63:Parking is a bi tricky with big car as small streets around hotel

Review 64:Good location Close to everything in town Close to a boulevard

Review 65:This 2-storey hotel is located in an alley behind a street behind a main road with a 6 or 7 floor building in front of it. The single use double room was poky, dirty, the curtains were falling off the window, and there was a funny smell in it. This room was practically over a pub/club which closed in the early hours, so the member of our group in this room got no sleep at all. Sound-proofing is non-existent - we could hear everything going on in the rooms around us, and the party-goers in the street outside seemed to be in our rooms. To add insult to injury someone decided to have motorbike drag races in the alley at all hours of the morning. We had booked 2 nights but left after the first. I do not consider this to be a three-star hotel and will neither recommend it nor will consider staying here again.

Review 66:The double/twin room was clean and tidy, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast though basic was good and plentiful.

Review 67:More choice for breakfast. No view - very close to building across the way.

Review 68:The staff were very pleasant and very helpful. The hotel is very near the railway station and easy to find. There are bars, cafes and restaurants very near by and the main shopping and town centre is just a short walk away. Breakfast was basic. The room was very comfortable, pleasant and clean, but had no view or balcony, however this did not bother us. We left out bags there after we checked out and the staff were very accommodating. We sat and used the internet in the lobby while waiting for a train and we felt very comfortable. Would have no difficulty in recommending this hotel, very good value and very comfortable for the price.

Review 69:Don't even think of sleeping on a Friday or Saturday night causethere's a bar next door (Excalibur) with loud music and constantrawdy people screeming outside till 5 am. Walls are card board thinenabling you to hear everything. Impossible to find through gps. Stuffin the room got stolen. Accomodation has seen better days.

Review 70:Good matras, decent breakfast, free appetizer on Friday.

Review 71:The hotel is next to a bar or some partying establishment and people were outside drinking and making noise until well after 3:00 a.m. This was on a Thursday in December, I can't imagine what it's like on the weekend or in summer. I'm a late-night person and am usually not bothered by this sort of thing, but as the night went on, the crowd got worse and worse (probably more drunk) and were loudly singing pop songs by the end of the night. It was really obnoxious. As I tried to get a little extra sleep the next morning, the maid barged into my room at 9:00 a.m.. She left quickly but then made a bunch of noise in the hallway so I never went back to sleep. In the end, I managed about five hours of sleep at this hotel. Upon checkout, the clerk told me he couldn't take a credit card because the machine wasn't working. I was driving out of town that morning and not prepared to spend my cash but he gave me no choice. I found this particularly irritating because I offered to pay the night before, but the night clerk didn't want to be bothered or something and kept telling me "morning". It's possible the credit card machine was working at night or I could have at least went to get more cash in the evening. I don't recommend this hotel nor would I consider staying here again.

Review 72:The room was fine. A bit institutional but everything worked fine, the hot water, the wifi, etc. The location is a very short walk from the central part of town and has more than adequate parking - for very small cars, though - I had a SMART and parked directly across from the front door of the hotel, but it was a squeeze even for the SMART to get into the lane.

Review 73:Shower cubicle was TINY!

Review 74:Bed comfortable. We had 2 communicating rooms which was good as one shower did not work well, but the other did. Good breakfast.

Review 75:Bathroom should be cleaner. There is a pub just on first floor next door. Very loudly in the night.

Review 76:Helpful staff. Hotel suprised me with gorps in the middle of the day! :) We had to leave hotel very early before breakfast is served, stuff served breakfast specially for us.

Review 77:old school hotel but i better suggest to stay there not in historical center which is quite doggy. i do not recommend this city at all- there is nothing to see and do, just 2 temples.

Review 78:location and staff was good, easy to reach historical center temples and train station. And one of the best restaurants was near the hotel on a big street-great food and service

Review 79:The photo's dont really match reality. We found the rooms to be run down. The shower was very small.

Review 80:The location of the hotel is pretty much in the city center. The staff is helpful, but only speaks Italian.

Review 81:The hotel is very near a train and bus stations. A way to the railway station is good. Very good position for visiting the archaeological park. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was goog. Nice place.

Review 82:The rooms are old and uncomfortable. The lighting is very bad. Very thin walls ( we could hear our neighbor as if they were in our room!). They advertise wifi but it doesn't Work.

Review 83:Difficult parking.

Review 84:Very friendly staff. Clean rooms. Very comfortable--air conditioned with extra room. Very good breakfast although no restaurant. Very good price. Left us champagne for celebration and fruit tray at no extra cost.

Review 85:Receptionists must learn english! At least main phrases! They did notspeak at all in English! Room smell by cigaretes.

Review 86:Hotel is located in small, calm street! Near the hotel are nicerestaurants. Good wifi.

Review 87:there was a partition for the bath tub which was distroyed and dirty with realy bad view!

Review 88:The lady reception was so kind to us and helped us a lot to find a guy to take us to scala dei turchi on sunday. there was a bowl of fruits for free in the refrigrator and the breakfast was good.

Review 89:Close to city centre an train station. Lots of nice restaurants in the area. Good place for children as playground close by Good breakfast, standard European fare

Review 90:Rather clinical atmosphere, no decoration in halls or rooms – perhaps temporary, due to recent renovation? A noisy bar was just under our windows, so we could not keep them open during the night.

Review 91:Ideally situated quite near the old town, and the en suite room (converted from two small rooms) meant plenty of space.

Review 92:There was quite a lot of noise from the nearby apartments. The bathroomwas overheated.

Review 93:The hotel was very conveniently located and the staff were most helpfulin giving us local information. The room was clean and spacious.

Review 94:No view as behind other buildings - not very important for us.

Review 95:Easy to find and convenient location. Very helpful staff - a familybusiness. Central to the town of Agrigento and easy to each the culturalsites. Comfort cleanliness etc.all fine. Parking looked as if it mightbe difficult but was fine.

Review 96:You write that there is no parking. It is not true. We parked our car infront of the hotel. The lady from the reception came to the street andhelped and advised us to get the best place where to park the car. Shewas very friendly all the time, did not speak English, but we got alongwith my poor French. The room was quiet and clean, modern. We wereoffered as a gift a bottle of red or white wine; the wine was good! There is a good restaurant just 2 minutes from the hotel, where we gotan excellent dinner. A nice stay!

Review 97:We had some trouble communicating with the staff, who spoke no Englishat all. The one person who knows just a little bit comes to work onSunday nights at 10 pm, and since we arrived on Sunday morning, we hadto wait until ten to re-visit the questions which the day lady didn'tunderstand. The person who came on duty at 10 and I typed back and forthto each other via a translator website, which turned out to be fun.

Review 98:We loved the location. In Agrigento the hotel is located on an alleyjust behind the main drag which runs along the sea. We felt perfectlysafe the whole time we were there. We walked at night. We found theaccommodations, although not very fancy, to be neat and clean and thelight breakfast sufficient. The staff is very down to earth andfriendly. When we showed concern about how to get to the bus stationwith all our stuff, someone on the staff plopped us in his own car anddrove us over. Oh... If you can manage to visit Agrigento during thefirst week of July, as we did, you will witness the annual festival inhonor of their patron saint, with parade, float, street vendors, and ahuge fireworks display.

Review 99:No great character or charm, but good value for a short stopover

Review 100:No surprises, no nasty shocks. Everything worked, everything was clean. Hotel was very quiet

Review 101:The hotel was in a perfect location if you want to be central and closeto the old town. I had a car, so was able to drive to the Valley of theTemples (there was parking on the street in front of the hotel at nocost). The hotel is behind a little park with a playground -- which Iread from another traveler review and found this very helpful. This is a good budget hotel that served my purpose of a one-night stay to see the Temples. It was clean and the staff was helpful (I don't speak Italian, but with little effort was still easily able to communicate with the lady at the front desk). She was very sweet and helpful.

Review 102:Had hoped for more restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel.

Review 103:Iimmediate responce and solution by older lady on the reception to some issues we encountered with the room.

Review 104:Bed is very hard . It woke me up multiple times.

Review 105:Spacious rms. We had 2 bathrms and sitting rm along with our bedroom. Acworks well. Internet ok, just slow. Breakfast typical. Looks renovated. No hair dryer in rm but available at desk. Need car to see temples, butwalk to city center.

Review 106:My bed was terrible. It was like sleeping on an uneven sponge. I have a relatively bad back ,that needs a sturdy bed. So I was really really hurting in the next morning.

Review 107:Breakfast was surprisingly good.

Review 108:The price is very reasonable and the wine ( included in the room) isfine. Location good , quiet, clean.....friendly service.... Breakfast isgood and the Cafe is fantastic. I'll stay in Hotel Del Viale agin when Ivisvit Agrigento......

Review 109:The advertising on Booking.com for this hotel is misrepresented. Thehotel is located in a lane-way off a backstreet. We were supposed toget a room with a courtyard view but all we got was a graffiticovered dirty lane way, no bottle of wine as stated and no carpet onthe floor as booked. Some of the photos advertising the hotel areactually of a restaurant some streets away, including the receptioncounter. The shower is tiny, the door only 250mm wide and ran out ofhot water half way through the second shower. The receptionistcouldn't or wouldn't speak in English. This is not normally a problemfor us but it stopped any complaints from us. Despite booking twonights we left after one night.

Review 110:nothing really

Review 111:Quiet and room had basic cooking facilities for tea making and storing drinks. The lady who greeted us was very helpful.

Review 112:poor toilets paying problem

Review 113:friendly staff

Review 114:Everything is perfect.

Review 115:Very nice breakfast and great location for walking to restaurants and bus to get to the Valley of Temples.

Review 116:Noisy at nights.

Review 117:Is situated in the city centre. Everything is near. The breakfast is excellent. We can cook also for our little kid.

Review 118:Parking but this is always difficult in Sicily

Review 119:Air conditioning and family twin room

Review 120:As is so often the case in Europe, the bathrooms and s howlers are too small.

Review 121:Friendly staff, very good breakfast, great location.

Review 122:Very good location

Review 123:They had a good will to help but they don't know English.
