Reviews for Lansdowne Arms Hotel

Review 1:We felt welcome, very friendly. Room and en suite were comfortable. Bar food and service were excellent. Room rate was attractive and included full breakfast.

Review 2:Room was compact

Review 3:friendly staff, great breakfast and lots of areas to just sit and chat with friends. Room was warm and good selection of tv stations. great location in centre of town

Review 4:Needs an update 110 euro for one night at the beginning of October was very expensive for the outdated room in bad need of renovation

Review 5:Central location nice bar

Review 6:none reported

Review 7:Easy to locate, walking into town, close to places we wanted to explore. Great to have local music and dance right at our hotel. Friendly and welcoming.

Review 8:Kind competent staff, who facilitated us in procuring a taxi and a quiet room on the busiest day in the year in Kenmare! 10 out of 10 Excellent breakfast, nicely served.

Review 9:Rooms need to be modernised!

Review 10:Breakfast was good! However would have been nice if staff wore uniforms so could tell who was working! They were helpful and friendly tho!

Review 11:Very convenient for bus out of town. Close to shops and restaurants. Opened breakfast earlier for us because of bus schedule Staff very helpful..

Review 12:Initially we were placed in a relatively pokey room with twin beds but were moved to a room with a king sized bed that was much better

Review 13:The breakfast room, service and meal was lovely

Review 14:I usually like old buildings that are hotels, but here the room was dingy and the bed was very hard. Worst part was the wifi. For some reason it only worked in the lobby even though we were promised wifi in the room. When we asked, the front desk said that sometimes Americans have problems connecting from the room and told us to keep trying. My husband finally connected after 3 hours of waiting but it never connected on my iPhone or iPad. Really disappointing. Also, we chose Kenamre as an alternative to Killarney. While we avoided the crowds, the town is not nearly as nice as Killarney. I don't think we will come to Kenmare again and if we do, we won't stay here.

Review 15:Location within Kenmare was okay, but Kenmare its self wasn't too great.

Review 16:The cooked breakfast was very good but perhaps a little more variety would have been good. Also, the restaurant/bar closed early for food (around 9pm).

Review 17:The location is excellent at the end of the main street in Kenmare. The main reception rooms were beautifully decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the bedroom facilities were good. Cooked breakfast was very good.

Review 18:One should be aware there is no elevator in case that is a concern. Tub can be dangerous getting in and out as sides are very high.

Review 19:Friendly, helpful staff. Big, comfortable room. Wonderful breakfast service.

Review 20:The bathroom was tiny, possibly the smallest ive ever come across. No bath just a shower.

Review 21:Very welcoming and helpful staff. The hotel is very central, cosy and warm.

Review 22:My friend and I (both 65 years young) have a little trouble maneuveringthe various sets of stairs with our luggage (no lift) - so be sure toask for some nice young person (or a strong older person) to help withyour bags.

Review 23:Can walk everywhere in town. Lots of relaxed shopping, but best of all, there are several delightful pubs sprinkled around town, offering goodfood and drink and often lovely Irish music. Paddy Quill's Pub inthis hotel is always particularly fun as well and is a local favorite. The staff is fantastic and I've seen the same faces there forseveral years now. Especially lovely breakfasts - very classy andfriendly. It's fun to strike up conversations with people sitting atthe table next to you. Real Irish hospitality!

Review 24:Very poor quality breakfast juice.....not drinkable. Try Lidl. No valance on base of bed. Poor quality shampoo/shower gel

Review 25:Location. Full Irish breakfast. Car parking. Public areas fresh and clean. Staff helpful.

Review 26:Booked a double room and had two beds pushed together and you could feel the two beds together in the middle. Arrived at desk to check in rang bells that at desk and notice a sign to side of desk informing to go to bar for a member of staff.

Review 27:The portion of meal ordered was nice and extremely pleasant but staff went to quick to assist us

Review 28:1.Early morning noise at back in car park 2.Some discomfort with bedding - sheets/pillows or something like an under-sheet causing sweating?

Review 29:Great location Nice food Helpful staff

Review 30:I found the staff to be outstanding ,so accommodating, lady in bar who served our lunch was so helpful ,giving directions and just being pleasant. Beautiful town only compliant I didn't have long enough to enjoy it. Receptionist even did check in for our flight to Dublin. Keep up the good work We only had bar food so I can't comment on dinner but lunch was fine and good value for money and breakfast was very good. If I was back near Kenmare I would definitely stay there.

Review 31:WiFi is not available in the bedrooms. Take some extra tea & coffee as there is only one sachet per day.

Review 32:On site parking and traditional Irish welcome and hospitality. breakfast choice and quality is excellent.

Review 33:The facility to make a cup of tea/coffee in our room would have been welcome.

Review 34:The hotel was in a very central location for touring the surrounding area and although located on the main street there was no problem with excessive noise. staff were friendly and attentive and the breafast was excellent.

Review 35:We had a lovely time at the Lansdowne Arms Hotel. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. We spent a wonderful evening being entertained by an Irish music group with two girls who danced for us - one of the things I wanted to experience on our trip to Ireland so we were very pleased - an excellent stay.

Review 36:I found the front desk lady Breda very friendly and could not be more helpfull. Found Mary in the the breakfast room so nice and took good care of my wife and I. Can't forget the porter I think his name is John, he was very friendly and he gave me a complementary cut of tea when I came back from my early walk. My wife and I was very impressed We will be back.
