Reviews for Ardilaun Guesthouse

Review 1:The only problem i had was that the Internet-Connection kept cutting in out which was a bit annoying as I needed to get some work done.

Review 2:Lovely Guesthouse by the River. The room was very comfortable and Breakfast delicious.

Review 3:Ann & PJ operate an excellent establishment in Ennis. Had lovely conversation with Ann. They made you feel like you were a friend not just a guest at B&B. The property is very conveniently located to restaurants. You couldn't ask for cleaner or more comfortable rooms. With the 24hour a day key entry from the outdoors it makes you feel very safe. Nice variety for a hot breakfast every morning. This guesthouse is in a great location for a quiet stay but easy access to Ennis. Beautiful area!

Review 4:There was a noise at night (sounded like a boiler) but it eventually stopped so everything was fine. The town is 10 min away by car but parking is no problem there!!

Review 5:Very calm and cosy, nice views to the river, very roomy bedroom, nice breakfast, free parking... Very happy with this accommodation

Review 6:Shower was a bit iffy, on the first day the shower actually stopped flowing completely. We talk the owners and they turned on the auxiliary water tank. After that the shower was fine.

Review 7:Very friendly

Review 8:Decor needs a bit of a refresh, especially the bathroom round the basin and in the shower. Water went off completely mid-shower one day.

Review 9:Nice sized room, kept spotlessly clean Lovely proprietors and staff; so helpful and pleasant. Excellent breakfast

Review 10:The rooms are tired and require a major overhaul. A person needs to be a primate to reach the toilet paper - the toilet roll-holder is positioned on the opposite wall for some strange reason.

Review 11:The view of the stream and the deck

Review 12:Spacious rooms, very helpful staff, great location, very neat and clean. A great laundry nearby - dropped washing off in morning, picked up in evening - only 9 euro.

Review 13:- Perfect location, just minutes off the main roads while driving around Ireland; - Beautiful terrace on the river bank :) - Filling full Irish breakfast;

Review 14:The property has obviously purpose built and rooms are spacious, ensuites nicely fitted if snug, and all that is needed for a comfortable stay is there. Also available are a lounge, gym and spa which I did not use on my visit.

Review 15:The guesthouse was easy to find. Very close to Ennis. It was easy to get a taxi out to the Guesthouse late at night.A spotlessly clean guesthouse & the breakfast was lovely the next morning.

Review 16:The bathrooms were filthy - dust bunnies, mold, and urine smells. The vents didn't draw out any moisture which would contribute to the mold. It was also further from the town which meant no drinking at a pub for the driver.

Review 17:The beds were comfortable with a variety of pillows to accommodate those who like thicker or thinner pillows.

Review 18:the outside of the guesthouse looks modern but inside a bit old fashioned.A bit of a guarded welcome and the room was not ready despite us being quite late booking in

Review 19:good breakfast

Review 20:Had to drive into Killarney as a long walk.

Review 21:Owner and breakfast server were friendly, accommodating and interested in ensuring everything was perfect for us.

Review 22:The bedspreads are a bit tired looking and could be replaced but beds are comfortable. Showers are small but water pressure is excellent.

Review 23:I liked the view from my room. The staff was very helpful and friendly to us. The location is a bit out of town but there is nothing in Ennis to require one to stay in town. Very quiet at night.

Review 24:There were no electrical outlets next to the bed. The shower stall was small.

Review 25:Excellent parking Staff was extremely helpful - gave my husband 2 extension cords for his CPap machine. Breakfast was good.

Review 26:we picked 'quiet room' option but were given the first room beside the reception, with a very noisy shower next door. when asked about possibility of staying in rooms with door to the garden, we were told that 'those were available to book for guests who stayed with us before' (no such option given on booking.com). big stain on bedspread and frayed towels, mould in bathroom.

Review 27:the location was handy for our trip, but could have picked a better place to stay

Review 28:The peace & quiet of the location. We had a lovely view of the river from our room. We were well rested for our onward journey. We had dinner in The Old Ground Hotel it was excellent.

Review 29:The rooms were a bit cold but we figured it was due to a cold snap and we are kind of spoiled.

Review 30:The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is cooked to order and is very yummy.

Review 31:The location was perfect for our activity. It was very close to a dance we were attending. Breakfast good and the morning staff was friendly. Room clean and comfortable. The owner was accommodating in our request for a very early check-in.

Review 32:It is quit and peaceful place, just 5 minutes driving away from city centre. The room we stayed has a beautiful panoramic view, it was clean, spacious, comfortable and the wifi worked well and fast. We didn't order breakfast and also didn't need staff assistance, so I cannot rate them.

Review 33:I can't think of anything!! But like I said - don't just stay ONE night - stay more and travel around. Especially if it's warm!

Review 34:We would stay here a long time if we did it again. It is VERY clean, breakfast and the rooms were lovely. The hostess is so kind and loves to make you feel welcome. She enjoys talking to you. She leaves little crackers or cookies with the tea and coffee services in your room. It is near other places and not out in the open like the picture shows which we were glad. The back yard is LOVELY with a deck out by the river and chairs to sit and enjoy.

Review 35:The place looked like it opened a week ago. Surprised to find out it was more than ten years old. Beautiful grounds. Riverside deck. Nice breakfast.

Review 36:There really wasn't anything I didn't like about this guest house

Review 37:The location, just outside Ennis , in a quiet and peaceful spot was excellent. The staff/owners were friendly and couldn't be more helpful. To be able to step from my room, across the grass and sit by the river..,divine! There is a spacious gym.. and.... there is plenty of parking....loved it!!

Review 38:After trying to locate this B & B with poor directions, exhausted. The proprietor was very warm and welcoming. We went to the car to unload our things an encounter with the proprietress put us on the defensive concerning cash up front when we asked if we could decide on breakfast or not in the morning. He had said it was okay to pay in the am prior to this discussion. She had a very distrusting attitude.

Review 39:The view out of the back window was beautiful as well as the grounds.

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:PJ & Anne are sure to make your stay a memorable one. Super friendly hosts that provide a high quality B&B experience. Very clean rooms and a wonderful breakfast. Make this place your home for a few nights to explore Ennis that is just a few minutes away, travel the area's countryside, and even visit the Cliff's of Mohrer that are less than an hour away.

Review 42:Nothing.

Review 43:Everything, location is ideal for exploring the Clare, very quiet, very clean and staff were very friendly and accommodating, definitely will be going back again :)

Review 44:Bed somewhat uncomfortable. Rooms could be updated.

Review 52:The location is lovely, with views of the river. The room was large and comfortable, and we found it nice and quiet despit being quite full. There was plenty of parking space and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast choices. Would definately stay there again.

Review 53:high charge for use of sauna

Review 55:In the outskirts of Ennis - easy to find - great traditional breakfast - clean and well furnished rooms - nice exercise room - friendly and courteous staff - felt right at home - would love to stay there again

Review 56:The 'meet and greet' was not of the standard we'd come to expect as we'd travelled through Ireland - a tad on the brusque. It would have been good to have been given the password to access the wi-fi and to have had more than 2 tea bags in the room.

Review 57:Easy parking Pleasant enough venue

Review 58:In an ideal world it'd be nice to have more than just eggs or beans for a vegetarian breakfast, but that's nit picking. Walls were a bit thin when there were noisy guests arriving/leaving late.

Review 59:comfortable beds, spotless bathroom/room, nice selection of fruit/cereal at breakfast on the buffet.

Review 60:Good breakfasts and friendly hosts. We made use of the gym room during our stay - nice view out to the river. I would recommend Ardilaun as a good base for exploring County Clare.

Review 62:The guesthouse was very comfortable and the staff's attention was excellent, especially to my wife who is a coeliac and therefore needs a gluten and wheat free menu.

Review 63:That we couldn't stay longer.

Review 64:I recently spent 5 nights at Ardilaun Guesthouse with my parents and my daughter. We had a super time and cannot thank Anne+PJ enough for their hospitality. The rooms were perfectly adequate and the beds were really comfy. The sheets were the softest I have ever experienced!!! The rooms were at the back of the house with a lovely view of the garden and decked area at the river side. It was really quiet at night. Elaine, who served us enormous breakfasts was lovely, extremely pleasant and very helpful. Everyone was very receptive to my Mum's particular Gluten/wheat free dietary requirements. My daughter, a Wicklow native, wore her Clare jersey with pride!!!!!!!! We would all highly recommend Ardilaun as a real home from home.

Review 65:Without a car, it's way too far from the town, about a 10 Euro cab ride.
