Reviews for Hotel Edda Egilsstadir
Review 1:I noticed a couple bottles left in the shower from a previous guest which made me wonder if the shower or bathroom were adequately cleaned.
Review 2:Front desk was friendly and there were gluten free options for those with Celiac. Beds were comfortable. Perfect for a one night stay during a road trip around the country.
Review 3:The usual lack of coffee & tea making facilities in the room. I know this is usual for Iceland but come on, a kettle in the room is normal everywhere else in Europe and it's not hard or expensive to provide.
Review 4:The restaurant was superb - true gourmet food and truly unexpected in a chain hotel. And the showers! A true Dettifoss of hot water, most welcome after 2 solid days on the road!
Review 5:They should say when you're checking in that breakfast is 12 euros per person. The curtains didn't block much light, which is why we slept very bad. In summer in Iceland, a dark room is really required.
Review 6:Loved the traditional breakfast in the morning. The room was an awkward setup with a spiral staircase leading up to the third bed, but some might think this is really cool. When we first got there we couldn't figure out whether this place used to be a hospital or a school (turns out it's a school in the winter). Next time I would choose a place with a little more charm.
Review 7:The website showed a picture of a pool but there wasn't one on site. The rooms are incredibly basic and there is no WiFi.
Review 8:The location was good to break up the journey. Ok for one, over night stop.
Review 9:Bed clothes, looking very old. Wi-fi just on the lobby. Basic breakfast.
Review 10:Very basic, but clean and enough confort for a good night sleep while you're travelling.
Review 11:I could have had a better mattress!
Review 12:Really nice and decent hotel. Location is nice and we got a nice sunset view from our room. Staff was very friendly and kind.
Review 13:The room was small and the shower was tiny. Felt like a dorm room.
Review 14:The staff was friendly and the room had everything we needed for our short stay.
Review 15:Price too high and breakfast not included
Review 16:The place very good
Review 17:Great location. Very comfortable for over-night stay. Was just passing through.
Review 18:Terrible breakfast and poor sound proof
Review 19:Small bathroom .
Review 20:Nice view. Good breakfast ... Make your own waffles .helpfull staff
Review 21:dinner overpriced and not very good
Review 22:clean nice staff nice location close to swimming pool breakfast good
Review 23:poor wifi (only available at the restaurant floor in the corridor and still slow connection); cheap quality of beds and bathroom and facilities. This place is actually used by students on low season and it's clearily visible on the type of low budget furniture.
Review 24:kindess of staff: they agreed to add free breakfast after we complained about the high price of the hotel vs poor comfort (especially compared to other accomodations we've been to along our Icelendic holiday).
Review 25:Not much attention to detail. Lightbulbs burnt out etc. Seems to cater to the tour bus crowd. Town offered little to do in the evening. Expensive comported to other places we stayed
Review 26:There is no free Wi-Fi in the hotel, only very expensive Wi-Fi in the lobby. Breakfast is very expensive too (it doesn't include hot dishes).
Review 27:Very friendly and assistant lady at the reception.
Review 28:The Hotel Edda has a very good restaurant with lovely views. The room was basic, but very comfortable. We took advantage of its location across from the town's swimming pool to go swimming.
Review 29:parking too far from entrance to haul luggage; elevator didn't work; WiFi in lobby only a big negative and in my opinion would preclude me from choosing again
Review 30:room was nice, view was beautiful
Review 31:The desk staff was very nice. Called to check to see if they puffins had arrived, so we would not have to waste a drive up the peninsula.
Review 32:next to airport, clean, cheap (for Iceland), across from city's pool
Review 33:Extremely high price compared to hotel facilities. Lack of ambience, a pure functional hotel Food is average
Review 34:Cleanliness, simpliness.
Review 35:The breakfast buffet was not free to guests.
Review 36:The restaurant was excellent.
Review 37:Good location. Excellent service. Rooms basic but clean and comfortable
