Reviews for Hotel Dei Pini

Review 1:We had a room with garden view-it was a little bit dark. The bathroom was old with very small, low shower. I had to watch out for the head by going under the shower!!! We had room on the first floor not far from reception desk and the bar, it was noisy till mindnight!!! I could hear everything from the next room and I heard every word said by passing through a person at my door.

Review 2:Great view, garden, beach and surrondings

Review 3:hotel could do with some updating, for example shower very poor and also some staff not the most helpful

Review 4:good location, nice beach very quiet, great food

Review 5:The service is shocking, incompetent staff. The food is also far from 4*, don't waste your time / money there. No way of ironing anything yourself (as we were there for a wedding with 60 other guests, this was very inconvenient).

Review 6:The location with a private beach

Review 7:Noisy, thin walls through which you can hear everything (doors slaming, people walking and talking on corridors, babies crying). We had to pay 4 eur for the beach towels. They wanted to charge us for a drink from the minibar that we did not take, hotel staff is really rude, especially considering the price tag of this place! Overall, the area of Alghero (Bombardia beach included) is dirty, crowded, far from being "exotic", very poor quality for what you pay. I would strongly recommend Costa Smeralda for similar price!

Review 8:Nice private beach with clear blue water, rooms look good and clean

Review 9:* no bellboy/doorman to helps your luggages.you have to find your room yourself. * only for local cuisine with undelicious taste. * poor housekeeping services/lack of cleaning * disrespectful F&B captain. * if there is wedding ceromony at restaurant you should be unrated guest (possible to eat wedding diner's residuals) * not enough transportation from alghero last bus 19:30 from city centre.

Review 10:beach & sea

Review 11:Standard room is bad, we had to pay extra for superior which is much better and has sea view and nice terrace. Location is good but only if you have a car.

Review 12:Beautiful beach and nice hotel. Breakfast was ok but everyday same. Nature around hotel is beatuful.

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:Lovely private beach, free sunbeds, excellent reception staff, happy hour cocktails, tennis, large stylish pool, free parking, room card charging system for drinks, etc.

Review 15:Food at the beach restaurant is really not good (with friendly service though). If they happen to have a wedding or similar event then forget about anything properly served to guests. The rooms are rather small and could really use some update in furniture and bed linen and pillows. The air conditioning system is ridiculous (can only be turned on or off from the reception!) the floors were not clean and so everything was full of sand.... Water from the shower leaked everywhere (and it happened on other rooms too), no hair dryer available, and finally the breakers kept acting on at all hours which blocked access to the room. Internet wifi was quite unstable. If you need something from the hotel shop which is really small you better be lucky as it only opens from 9 to 12.... The pool has a strange and extremely limited hour schedule. And.... Beach towels needed to be paid 4 euros each time you changed them for fresh ones!!!!! If you don't have a car the hotel is rather far from the main road. Not sure how public transportation worked from there (we did have a rental car fortunately). If you are planning to visit around and enjoy any of the many fantastic beaches and attractions that the island offers there are other alternatives much more comfortable and with better services for this price. Sardegna is such a beautiful place it really deserves a better hotel experience.

Review 16:The hotel has a very nice beach and location close to Alghero which is worth visiting. That is about it.

Review 17:The Brakfast is very boring. Everyday: egg, bacon, one meat, one cheese, joghurt.....BORING!!!!

Review 18:Great private beach, friendly stuff and very cleaning! EXELLENT!

Review 19:Room a bit small, bathrooms fixtures cheap and shoddy. Breakfast missed the mark with a poor selection and unattractive choices. Hotel restaurant food tasty but overpriced with only 4 choices on lunch menu and 4 choices on each course for dinner.

Review 20:Attended a wedding in this hotel and found the food served at the wedding was outstanding.

Review 21:315 USD + Local Tax per night is very high price for such a small B&B rear side room. Unfortunately, upon arrival on May 22, the girl at the front desk was very rude and impolite. It was the wicked, reception I ever had in an hotel. There was not a bell boy, so we had to handle our suitcases alone. The key in the door did not work properly and gave us very hard time entering the room. Also the ceiling main lamp did not work properly. The room was so small, that when one was sitting on the desk, he blocked completely the passageway. On the desk there was no easy access electricity plug available for electronic accessories and the Internet did not worked well.

Review 22:Bed clothes a bit light, prefer duvets. Breakfast coffee not great

Review 23:The view, the beach, the turquoise see, the proximity to all the above. Staff were fantastic. Food excellent, very fresh fish, shellfish, pasta.

Review 24:There was nothing about this hotel that we didn't like. We are already thinking about our next visit

Review 25:The view from our room was incredible! It was very clean and spacious. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the food served at the resteraunt was delicious and there was a great range of different things to try.

Review 26:Variety of dinner options

Review 27:All of these were definite positives! Upgrade upon arrival to sea view room! Wonderfully helpful staff! Private Beach! Location! Breakfast! Bar selection!

Review 28:We didn't quite get the system with the dinners at the hotel: wanted to eat there just once, and were told that we should have booked the table in advance, and that the kitchen was closed (while other people continued to order). They still fixed a light salad for us though. The wifi doesn't work at the beach.

Review 29:A very nice hotel outside of the city, so you will enjoy silence, private beach and nature around. Alghero is accessible by bus or bike (although the bike path is not running everywhere, and there are no lights on the last 5km to the hotel in the night). Very good breakfasts and massage!

Review 30:There aren't many nearby restaurants so definitely need to hire a car. Or there are a couple of good ones in Fertilia. The shuttle/bus service is very infrequent (every few hours!). Hotel Dei Pini isn't exactly a 4* hotel, more like a 3*. The private beach is lovely, but it gets a bit crowded with people walking over from the public beach and sitting/swimming in the private area. The guys selling stuff walking along the beach are rather annoying too (every few minutes asking us if we wanted to buy something). Hotel breakfast was disappointing and could be much better - too many sweets and cakes, not much savoury stuff, which was very limited.

Review 31:Excellent location if you want to be right next to the sea as soon as you wake up. Very helpful staff who were great at sorting out everything from double beds, booking restaurants, hiring car, recommending places to go - they made our stay much better! Beautiful private beach. The rooms are average but spacious and clean. Free sunbeds and sun loungers on the beach in a reserved spot each day (no need to put towel down to reserve your space!). It only takes an hour to drive to La Pelosa beach which is excellent, and 20 minutes to nearby Grotto di Nettuno. Didn't eat dinner at hotel, but lunch by the beach is very good, nice selection of pasta, fish, salad or paninis.

Review 32:The matre at dinner was only interested in my signature for food & wine banging everything on the table. He was rude, arrogant and didn't make me feel welcome or the other guests. Not suitable for dealing with the public. No porter to show me to room had to find my own way round.

Review 33:Loved the welcome when I arrived from ( lady with long blonde hair). Food excellent, beach very organised and beach boys very helpful.

Review 34:The hotel was nice, clean, beautiful grounds, great food. The bed was not great but ok. The staff was so helpful with every request we made - everything done with a big smile!

Review 35:- You can't pay more than 1000 Euros CASH for the room (italian law forbids it), so don't forget to bring your credit/debit card with you :) - The half board option included in your room price DOES NOT include the drinks (you'll have to pay for these at the end of your stay) - tricky and noisy air conditioner - the seaview rooms are quite noisy, especially during the summer/weddings season - the emergency cord placed inside the shower cabin

Review 36:- Location on the beach - Spacious room - 'Alghero beach bus' to connect with the other beaches/cities - 10 mins drive to the airport - Very good food and drinks - Sun beds and umbrella free of charge by the pool and on the beach (towels to rent - 4 euros per STAY/person) - Free safe key - Sky tv channels in the room

Review 37:Rather expensive in high season. Long trousers for men for dinner seems unnecessarily strict on a beach hotel. Lack of moscito net/windows, they do come in at night.

Review 38:Dei Pini has the most perfect location on a beautiful beach with very fine sand. You have your own ombrella and sunbed during your stay. Quiet, no traffic, but local bus to Alghero and its nice old town only 100m from the gate. Good food in the restaurant as well as the beach bar, best melon&Parma ham ever! Comfortable beds and nice, big terrace with fantastic ocean view. Beautiful surroundings with Capo Caccia etc. Perfect service from the staff.

Review 39:Small rooms

Review 40:Staff excellent

Review 41:Bad impression when arriving late. Old style looking and furniture

Review 42:The beach proximity

Review 43:The shuttle bus to Alghero that rarely was on time.

Review 44:The staff. Especially Vittorio and the way hé made coffee.

Review 45:Quality and price of food if not on half Board.

Review 46:Fantastic view from sea facing room.

Review 47:Nothing negative.

Review 48:Excellently efficient and friendly staff. Breakfast very fresh and varied.

Review 49:pricey. Not too quiet in the morning with staff cleaning. All the furniture scraping and cupboard banging, at 8am.

Review 50:bed, staff, views, comfort.

Review 51:Nothing.

Review 52:The beach was just perfect, very nice pool too. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely come back again.

Review 53:mosquitos

Review 54:Room shower basin quite small

Review 55:The staff, location and services offered

Review 56:Food in the restaurant doesn't match with the value of monday

Review 57:Beach is really nice, location is really Good .very close to city center

Review 58:gym very poor return buses none from 8-12 m

Review 59:friendly good lunch options had own reserver sunbed

Review 60:It was a little bit isolated. We bought one lunch in the hotel which wethought was seafood risotto but it was full of prawn heads, shells, legsand cost 11 euro which we thought was expensive for what it was. Thebathroom needs updating. Some drinks were expensive - orange juice 3euros!! And it was only carton juice and half the glass was ice.

Review 61:Easy access to the beach. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. The seaview was lovely. The foyer was very light and airy.

Review 62:No Wi-fi in main restaurant, lunch was expensive and it wasn't amazing.

Review 63:Very nice beach with free beds and umbrella, good breakfast, a wide range of water sports with good prices, comfortable rooms.

Review 64:Many additional fees involved (beach towels, tennis, airport shuttle). Getting to Alghero is expensive by taxi and difficult by bus.

Review 65:Beautiful spot on the beach. Friendly staff, good food, great pool.

Review 66:The rooms are old, worn and bare. While all of the female staff that Iencountered were excellent, one man who worked behind the desk duringthe day was not professional and spoke to me in a manner I have neverexperienced in any other hotel. The gym equipment was broken and nobodyseemed interested when I reported it. There certainly was not even anapology for the facility not being operational, though the presence ofthe gym was one reason I booked it.

Review 67:It was a great location, really beautiful. A sea-view bedroom is a mustas the beach is beautiful and totally makes up for the lack of wow-factor in the bedroom. The majority of the staff were extremely nice andprofessional. Also, the breakfast was fantastic. Such a range of options and I wanted to eat it all though I couldn't manage it :) Lunch and dinner were nice but nothing amazing. We wandered down the beach one night and had a cheap but tasty dinner at one of the beach bars. The swimming pool area is a lovely place to relax too. In summary, this hotel excels in outside space and breakfast.

Review 68:the hotel is a bit old-fashioned but it is not impacting your stay

Review 69:Nice beach, good food, you can enjoy drinks in the town nearby or on the terrace of hotel's restaurant.

Review 70:Not quite worth the tarrifs, felt more like a 3* than what it is.

Review 71:Nice outdoor facilities, well kept beach which felt quite private. Nice breakfast selection

Review 72:Everything is setup to extract money from you. For example you even have to pay to rent beach towels. Also the hotel is bit far from the city centre (~10km)

Review 73:I liked the nice beach, the pine forest surrounding the hotel.

Review 74:Typical hotel for massive vacation, you can see it mainly in breakfast. Almost unfurnished common areas. Check-out 10:30, if later 50% of day fee penalty.

Review 75:The beach, free umbrella and chairs. Wifi works well.

Review 76:The hotel's reception and the bars ( inside and outside ) need serious reconstruction, I guess...the building is too old and has very simple, unattractive and miserable interior. Though the rooms are fine...

Review 77:The nature around was just unbelievable. The hotel stands actually on the beach, so you don't need a lot of time to get from one point to another. The water and the beach were just brilliant. The water was a little bit cold during my stay ( August 11-19 ), but extra clean. The cuisine was really nice as well ( I had half board ). Suppers were really plenty and of high quality. For those who will come there without a car, I would suggest to take HB system, because you won’t be able to find a nice restaurant around (to have a supper )and if you pay for supper each evening it will be expensive a bit.

Review 78:Dinners not up to standard of everything else.

Review 79:Friendly staff. Position of hotel. cleanliness of hotel.Variety of guests, Beautiful sea. Great breakfasts.

Review 80:We enjoyed the bar environment more than the restaurant, as it was more relaxed.

Review 81:Our stay at Hotel Dei Pini was amazing! The staff were friendly and we felt comfortable to do anything we wanted to do. The cocktails were great and we didn't feel we needed to leave the hotel at all. Everything was at our doorstep, including a variety of watersports. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was great and a free upgrade to the seaview room made it that extra special. The best view ever! We spent most of our time between the beach and pool. Can't wait to come again!

Review 82:It is expensive consodering that the rooms are not new and have a 70's feeling.

Review 83:Location right AT the beach, with its own prívate beach. 10 min by car of the city center of Alghero. Located in a nice área surrounded by nature.

Review 84:The only thongs that let me down was the choice of food available. Therestaurant provided an adequate breakfast but lunch and dinner were setmenu'S. That was for our liking bit that's not to say that wouldbe the same for others. But no negatives to be honest.

Review 85:Firstly, the hotel staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Thelocation was outside the main town but was located on an amazing beach. The beach is the main highlight and is truly breathtaking. The swimmingpool overlooks the beach and bay and is again brilliant. Our room had abeach view with a balcony and was again breathtaking. There was ashuttle bus which took you to the main town 4 times a day for a cost of€5 for day's use.

Review 86:The food in the hotel restaurant was expensive, and did not meet the same level of excellence as the rest of the hotel.

Review 87:The view and surrounding area was beautiful.

Review 88:The ambiance is that of a four star Youth hostel and not a four star hotel. Terribly outdated and cheap decor. Matrasses on the beds are too hard.

Review 89:Very friendly personnel, position right on the beach is great.

Review 90:Reaching the city of Alghero required a cab ride which was 40 euroround trip.

Review 91:Staff was very friendly. Beach is supposed to be the best in Alghero.Courtesy room allowed us to check out, enjoy the beach for a few morehours, and then clean up before our flight. Breakfast was good andhad some low fat, low sugar options. When you take a cab to/fromthe airport, make sure they use a meter. On the way to the hotel, itonly cost 18.70 euro, but on the way back, the taxi tried to chargeus 30 euro.

Review 92:The building is a dated 70s style construction. Rooms are small and noisy. This hotel certainly does not deserve four stars, it is more like a one star hotel realistically. It is very overpriced for what it is.

Review 93:Location was excellent.

Review 94:Dinner was a bit over-priced, but going into the city to eat is a reallynice way of experiencing the island anyways. The hotel bar was only openuntil 11pm, and we are a young couple, so we liked to stay in the cityfor dinner and drinks. The hotel bus will bring you back so it allevened itself out.

Review 95:The second we booked the hotel we were contacted by friendly staffconfirming our trip. They organized a taxi for us and when we got therethey upgraded our hotel room to a superior with sea view and terrace forno specified reason! We were so happy. The room was immaculately cleanand the terrace was a perfect place to watch the sun rise. The hotel'sbeach is absolutely breathtaking and the best beach hands-down on thatside of the island. There was a hotel bus that took you to the city for5Euro a day which was very convenient and clean as well. The city ofAlghero is beautiful and the Neptune's Grotto is a must-see. We stayedfor four nights and loved every minute of it. Great staff, great foodand incredible beach...we will be visiting again!

Review 96:Very expensive hotel that needs renovation, particularly the bathrooms. They have the smallest shower I've ever seen. Good isolation in the rooms from the outside noises but not for the inside ones (many, because is a family hotel, full of children, waking up early in the mornings). Airco with only on/off positions. The umbrellas and beds at the beach for use only of the clients are allocated according to your room. That means, very expensive room, front row at the shore of the beach, cheaper room, second or third line, depends. You can not change them. You have them for all your stay.

Review 97:The private beach, with clear clean waters. Nice pool.

Review 98:- extremely friendly and helpful staff - wonderful location - clean beach and crystal clear ocean - nice fitness program - ideal for family with small children, the water is shallow - you need a rental car if you want to see the surroundings - you might want to have dinner in the city of Alghero - the standard rooms are not oversized - not for business: fast internet not available

Review 99:Very poor dining choice in the main restaurant. Quite expensive for quality of dining. Entertainment very poor. Not enough information of where to go, what to do etc.

Review 100:Very clean. Lovey pool and lovely private beach.

Review 101:Restaurant. Very poor menu, absolutely nothing to feed a child, theywrite about children menu, which is available, but all the doors areclosed. It's just a fake. Waiters are unfriendly and stupid, even don'twelcome you when you come into the restaurant, all the time mix dishes.Such a canteen is not a decent thing for 4* hotel and Sardinia ingeneral. Wi-Fi is almost not working, huge problems to connect and evento check e-mail.

Review 102:The hotel has a good location, nature around it, beach.

Review 103:Too organised on beach, beds and umbrellas booked by the week

Review 104:Hotel a bit overpriced, drinks and meals expensive. Location right onbeach good but beach packed in with umbrellas and sunbeds which made itseem very regimented. Alghero town excellent much better thananticipated.

Review 105:A very poor quality of breakfast and dinner. It's not worth the price we paid.

Review 106:The location was just perfect: no other hotels around, 20 m to the sea, a private beach.

Review 107:The beach there is amazing!!!

Review 108:Restaurant poor, ambience lacking.

Review 109:Views spectacular, idyllic setting.

Review 110:poor breakfeat

Review 111:good location personal

Review 112:Poor bad, mediocrate food, lots of babies and children crying and running around. Must have a rental car to get around.

Review 113:Nice beach.

Review 114:Very well situated at a magnificent beach. Beautiful landscape. Confortable rooms. Family friendly.

Review 115:dining experience

Review 116:location pool and beach room views

Review 117:Amazing view, great and friendly staff. Great experience.

Review 118:Flies and airplanes

Review 119:food, location, staff

Review 120:The shower was really small!!

Review 121:Location very good for touring and variety

Review 122:People are so friendly and the location is nice, price relation is correct

Review 123:The locs

Review 124:All was good

Review 125:Close to the beach , very friendly staff, good food , clean rooms great views.

Review 126:Crowded beach, being charged for towels, small and noisy rooms, poor breakfast. Not a good value gor money.

Review 127:Very service minded and nice staff!

Review 128:Staff were lovely and terrace out the front of our room was fantastic.
