Reviews for Treacys West County Conference and Leisure Centre

Review 1:we were cold in bed eventhought the radiator was on. you need a heavier blanket/duvet. Drunken wefdding party shouting and singing in corridor up to 3am. They restarted it again at 6am and had a v loud sing song at 6.30 am banging doors and roaring

Review 2:we arrived in mid afternoon to be greeted by Crionna with a welcoming smile. Later that evening l had a fall on the road leading to the event we had travelled to for the night. Unfortunately l didn't attend and returned to the hotel. The following morning still in agony my wife and others from our party asked if the hotel had any walking aids and to our surprise they found a crutch and walking stick which had been left behind by previous guests. These helped me get to the dining room for breakfast which was well above average and the staff there were very helpful and charming. Wondering how l would manage the bus and train to Dublin Crionna said l could take the walking aids with me and l was most grateful. I would like to thank all the staff including the housekeeper on the 2nd floor for all their help and generosity. Would we return most certainly.

Review 3:We didnt like that we had booked a room for us and two children age 11 and 9 one of the beds was a camp bed and not very comfortable and very small. the hotel was very clean but shabby and in need of updating

Review 4:Food was lovely and staff were lovely too

Review 5:Wasn't happy with the food ordered in bar.was also put on the 3Rd floor at end of corridor so the walk was way to far as we had a buggy

Review 6:The rooms were great. Bunk beds for kids is a great idea

Review 7:Are car was hit in the car park and we ask staff to look at the camera's to obtain more information- still waiting to hear back.

Review 8:Staff very friendly and inviting. Morning staff for breakfast - in the restaurant was very nice and welcoming. Pool area was great.

Review 9:Thought it was fairly busy for that time of the year which shows it's a popular hotel. And then to be at the Clare hurlers fund raiser, that just made the stay more worth while...

Review 10:No tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom. We had a ground floor bedroom which was adapted for disabled access, which in itself was not a problem until using the shower - there was no warning that the water could escape from the shower area in to the bathroom & under the door to the bedroom (albeit a tiled area).

Review 11:The staff were all very friendly & welcoming; one in particular went above & beyond duty, the Indian gentleman in the Skillet Pot restaurant ensured we could order even from the bar menu as the bar was too busy for our comfort.

Review 12:hitting was a bit noisy in the room

Review 13:kindness of the staff, quality of food, great location, quiet room, superb facilities and great leisure centre! the joy to have sauna, steam room and swimming pool right next to your room....

Review 14:I didnt like that because i booked on bookings.com that i was charged 16 euro more than i should have had to pay if i booked the hotel direct

Review 15:The staff were excellent, food was good no complaints about the hotel at all

Review 16:No water in rooms for most of Sunday. Unable to flush the toilets or have a showe. leak in the corridor by the lift wet floor and musky damp.smell

Review 17:Staff very friendly

Review 18:There was no water in the morning so we couldn't have a shower. Only when we mentioned it at checkout the next morning was it explained to us that a pipe broke throughout the night. It was extremely inconvenient as we had a meeting to attend.

Review 19:Basic room but it was warm and clean, good selection of channels on tv.

Review 20:Only bad thing about our trip to tracys west county hotel in Ennis was the weather and that can't be helped for this time of the year . and we just made the best of it. Nothing bad to say about the hotel or its staff .

Review 21:Very comforting .and very friendly and helpful staff . Great breakfast really enjoyed it . And a lovely restaurant and a great menu food was cooked exactly as we ordered it . And also great value for money. . And I'm heading to Tracys hotel in Waterford this weekend for a lady's weekend away .

Review 22:The girl n reception sunday at 3 o clock was lovely n very helpful.the room was lovely 108 very cosy.lovely dinner of turkey n ham n t bar.bar staff at the dance very nice .we will def be back

Review 23:I asked for a jug of water in the bar to bring to my room because i am a diabetic but i wasn;t allowed to bring it up.

Review 24:loved the swimming pool and the chowder on the bar menu.

Review 25:On last night of stay a lot of noise in adjoining room I had to ring reception at 3:30am. Carpets are grubby in bedroom and stairway s and timber works scratched.

Review 26:Food was quite good. Friendly staff.

Review 27:After midnight the front entrance of the hotel was locked. There was a door bell to ring to alert the Night Porter but the bell either did not work, or if it did work it failed to get attention of the Night Porter. There was a telephone number (written next to the door bell) to phone if ringing the doorbell did not alert the attention of the Night Porter. As an overseas visitor this involved me in making an international call on my mobile phone, at (no doubt) a large, unexpected and unnecessary expense.

Review 28:This was a clean and functional place to stay with friendly, polite and helpful hotel staff.

Review 29:I was quite disappointed to see some of the staff been treated very badly. In the breakfast room on sat 24th Oct I witnessed the older gentleman (assume the manager) been extremely rude to a member of the staff and very openly in-front of customers, be little this member of staff and embarrassed them. Extremely unprofessional

Review 30:The staff were brilliant, in the reception, breakfast area, evening restaurant were all so friendly and welcoming.

Review 31:reception was modern looking but rooms, corridors very worn. Rooms looked old and havent had a paint jobs for a long time. Quite old fashioned. Huge hotel so room was miles away from main area. Lift was broken I was on 3rd floor. Bar was big, very busy though with locals watching football. Bar food (goats cheese panini thing) so full of goats cheese I couldnt eat it all.

Review 32:location was good. lady at reception was lovley

Review 33:I think the corridors and the rooms need a little bit of tlc. The breakfast was not very nice. I just did not like the way it was presented and it did not taste good either.

Review 34:I liked the location and the bar food was really good. The entertainment on Saturday night was excellent.

Review 35:There manager told me there policy is to not serve people from the Irish Travelling community which in England is illegal but I'm not sure it is back there but none the less very disappointing to hear and she didn't seem to think it was such a big deal. When I informed her that it was discriminating she just shrugged her shoulders.

Review 36:Location

Review 37:Carpets old and worn in rooms and corridors. Hotel undergoing revamp, and there's a lot of work to be done, as much of the general appearance of the building, both inside and outside, is from the sixties or seventies (not sure which!).

Review 38:Friendliness of staff, comfort and value for money.

Review 39:If I had one dislike it would have to be the breakfast,it wasn't very tasty & there wasn't a lot of selection

Review 40:Staff are lovely especially at reception

Review 41:Bedroom had stained ceiling and pubic hair in the bath tub, gangs of people blocking the entrance to reception smoking, soup we had for lunch was stone cold and breakfast buffer very poor choice and rashers and pudding both burnt to a crisp

Review 42:Leisure centre was lovely, pool nice and big and jacuzzi sauna and steam room were a bonus

Review 43:Everything about our stay at Treacy's West County was perfect. The family room was very comfortable, and our children were delighted with the bunk beds. What an exciting surprise for them. You would have thought it was Christmas morning by their reactions! Also, the breakfast was delicious, and the swimming pool was beyond compare. Truly a fabulous weekend away for us all, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Review 44:Breakfast was a little limited in variety. Not really having a continental style breakfast on offer and the fruit selection wasn't great.

Review 45:Hotel location is excellent, very accessible from motorway and to Ennis town centre. The hotel staff were fantastic, especially the reception staff. The hotel has a great atmosphere in the bar/lounge. We travelled with children between the ages of 6-11 and the hotel were very child friendly. Attending a Feis that was held in the hotel, the hotel got very busy but the staff were fantastic and everything ran very smoothly on check in/out, accommodating us with late check out, which we really appreciated. In the competition hall itself, they set up a tea/coffee station and then ran a hot food counter, which meant people didn't have to the leave the competition hall to get food. I would absolutely stay in the hotel again, it would be my first choice when I am travelling to Ennis again.

Review 46:There was no spa so we had to go elsewhere. Breakfast was alright but would expect more

Review 47:The staff were lovely! Really enjoyed the gym and swimming facilities

Review 48:Delay in checking in, the guy kept apologising. The reception desk is so out dated, artificial flowers disgusting. The bedroom was shabby with The throw on bed having stains. Plaster loose at window area. I wouldn't go back there.

Review 49:The food in the bar was good

Review 50:kettle not working in room. beds not very comfy. fire alarm going off early morning no apparent fire but no explanations either

Review 51:it was fine for the few hours we were there.

Review 52:The restaurant service was appalling, there were 3 waiters at 1 table and I was ignored and the cutlery was dirty. There was a lot of noise in the corridors As a 'conference centre' I wasn't expecting so many families The gym and pool area was too busy to use.

Review 53:Very little

Review 54:No complaints :-)

Review 55:Staff very friendly and helpful. Food very good quality and reasonably price. Kids had a great stay, i would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends

Review 56:The bed sheet was stained ( disgusting ). We did not notice this until we were leaving! We got no change of towels and the second we had to call housekeeping for bathroom tissue. We plan to stay near Shannon Airport on the 15th. Sept. before we return to New York on the 16th. but no way will stay at the West County Hotel!!! Thank you , Kieran and Margaret Burke

Review 57:Had to wait an hour for room to be ready.service in bar not great. Tables not clean at breakfast Water in shower barely lukewarm first night.

Review 58:Pool. Atmosphere in bar. Entertainment

Review 59:Beds uncomfortable. Paid extra for the pool, but it closes to kids at 7p, so no "evenings in the pool". Much of the facility is run down and the staff feign a smile but offer no help with anything.

Review 60:One of the few places in that part of Ireland with a pool

Review 61:breakfast badly organized, ran out of cups, teepots, orange juice, breakfast room awful, no natural light, hot food presented poorly. nobody on top of things

Review 62:Bed room good size, reception staff good

Review 63:Location wise it wasn't too bad with easy access on and off the M18, but it was over a mile to Ennis town centre and this was a major disappointment as it meant hiring taxis or driving in and finding somewhere safe to park. This proved frustrating without a satnav or a knowledgable lay out of the town itself, and Ennis is big, bigger than I expected. No major complaints, leaning more to trivial than anything else, which is high recommendtion for staying atTreacys West County Conference and Lesiure Centre.

Review 64:The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was beyond compare. For me this is what elevated Treacys.above the rest. Price wise it was excellent value for money. Evening meals in Boru's Bar were standard fare with live music for entertinment, which was nice, but it was the Breakfast Menu that truly shone. Excellent. Set me up for the entire days sight seeing. Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty Castle, ferry to the Aran Islands, Father Ted's House no more than forty minutes drive away. .

Review 65:Room was in need of refurbishment. Bedside lamps were filthy and loose wires on telephone . Also the window and the ease with which my toddler could climb up to it . Not very family friendly! Also the pool could do with a total makeover. The handrails leading down into the pool were loose. The changing facilities were just diabolical!!! Not clean at all. Walls were filthy and almost every locker was broken.

Review 66:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception area was nice and relaxing to sit in. Food was good in the bar.

Review 67:The hotel itself is a bit dated. The room was adequate, but as a family room it was a tight squeeze. Breakfast food was not very good. Found some dirty cutlery in the trays.

Review 68:The staff were very good. Food service in the bar was excellent.

Review 69:Breakfast was a big let down, went down at 9.50am to be told there was no table available, very crowded and hot, airless room, needs updating and air conditioning badly, tables not set, no tablecloths etc. cutlery was dirty, we struggled to find clean spoons, plates etc., standard of hot food quite poor, scrambled eggs were inedible in my opinion, rashers over cooked. Breakfast is served until 10.30am, which is brilliant, but in a hotel everything should be of good standard right up to end of service. Breakfast room resembled a canteen rather than a hotel.

Review 70:Hotel nice and clean overall, staff at reception very friendly, room clean although fairly well worn and outdated in lots of ways, needs updating, bar had nice atmosphere. Breakfast room was stuffy and very overcrowded, not a good experience. In my opinion, tables should all be set ready for paying customers, perhaps residents should be served separate to customers walking in off street to alleviate the crowding. Surely a section of the main restaurant could be set ready for each resident that has paid for breakfast as in other hotels.

Review 71:Remote control on TV didn't work , difficult to find reception no in compendium . Basin tap in bathroom missing nut . The full breakfast was terrible , the food was steamed . Lucky my partner didn't order it !! The fish and chips in the bar were the worst I've had .

Review 72:The bed was comfortable , nice large room . Wifi was good.

Review 73:Room was of very poor quality, needed updating as it was shabby and not very clean, walls very poorly insulated as we could hear everything in the corridor all night and early morning, staff also very slow at check in and couldn't find our booking reservation

Review 74:Breakfast was difficult. It was very crowded with long lines and mediocre food. Likewise, the pub area was not comfortable for our kind of travel because of the large number of children present.

Review 75:The room was superb and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. My husband felt the same.

Review 76:Had a wonderful stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful and professional. Brian Boru bar has excellent food and entertainment at night. Bar has a pool table good for older teenagers. Leisure facilities very good. It has a pool steam room sauna and jacuzzi. Great location 20 min walk into Ennis town centre. Would definitely stay again.

Review 77:The hotel does not have a baby pool. The main toilets in the bar were not dusty and not very clean.

Review 78:The kids play area near the bar area was very suitable for young children. The staff were helpful and dealt with any query we had willingly

Review 79:lovely pool and thermal suite. Not too busy even though high season as the younger kids were mainly in camp. Good base for Ennis and main roads to tourist attractions in Clare

Review 80:only thing was long que breakfast lack of staff when it is busy / bar food same each night wouldve loved change

Review 81:thouroughly enjoyed the stay and staff were very pleasant all the time

Review 82:Bath towels the size of facecloths. Breakfast not well organised, e.g. we weren't told there was porridge at the hot food counter, they ran out of brown bread etc.

Review 83:Friendly staff, good buzz about the hotel, lots of people who stayed there regularly.

Review 84:small room, noisy with loads of kids and mature families around, breakfast was just not satisfying, generally overpriced

Review 85:Close to the city, ok spa facilities

Review 86:Being harassed to pay before I had even eaten!!

Review 87:As I didn't pay with credit card, I was harrassed constantly to pay or to sign for meals. We went there for a relaxing break, but it was anything but. I will be making a complaint to the manager.

Review 88:Definitely not as nice as pictures portray. Just a mediocre hotel. Very crowded and loud in the hallways. Hallways could use an update. Rooms were okay. Requested a double room and room with 3 single beds. Got two family rooms with double bed and bunk beds. Not ideal for family with 3 adult children. Staff couldn't make correction. Breakfast was a buffet, which was just okay. Nothing great. Would not stay here again or recommend.

Review 89:Breakfast was chaos. Ran out of food, glasses and cups both mornings we were there.

Review 90:Very friendly staff. Hotel seems to be getting a bit of decoration done which is good to see as Some parts of hotel are very dated.

Review 91:It states the location is a 10 minute walk into town but is more like a 20-25 minute so a little misleading as this was the reason I booked. The lift was out of order when we arrived and had to use the stairs, the stairwell smelled of damp

Review 92:Good value for money for a family of 4. Breakfast is good but as it's a buffet a little chaotic and they kept running out of food

Review 93:We travelled with a number of one family and had 5 rooms and some very young kids we stayed there for 2 nights for a family wedding in Ennis have to say our stay was fantastic the staff are so friendly and welcoming and even tho we had a few mishaps with kids running around staff were so understanding food was fab comfort of rooms was brill and great space in the family rooms and we were all put on one floor and rooms beside each other a very enjoyable experience thank you x

Review 94:Only a tiny thing but we had numerous problems with the door key. Irritating but not an issue

Review 95:Staff were extremely helpful & friendly, room was small but pool & facilities were great

Review 96:although it states free to use swimming pool etc, when we went down (without money) we was told we had to buy a swim hat to be able to go in, which we couldn't so not able to use the so called free facilities.

Review 97:evening entertainment, location, food.

Review 98:Room was a little small and could use a makeover. Needed a clock.

Review 99:Loved the live entertainment at night and beautiful pool area. Staff was very friendly, and great breakfast!

Review 100:The broken tile in the bathroom the mildew on the windows and the ceilings in the bathroom. I found one of the male staff of the kids club quiet rude to me and to the kids. The rest of the staff were very pleasant to deal with.

Review 101:The room was lovely the kids were mad about the bunk beds. The food was fab.

Review 102:Breakfast on the last morning was disappointing, there were no eggs, bacon, beans or tomatoes left when we went down at 9.55 . Had quite a wait til eggs and bacon arrived, then orange juice and bread ran out.

Review 103:Staff were pleasant and pool was good.

Review 104:the service when ordering food very poor, the room we were in had no bedside lamp on one side and the other one was broken .

Review 105:the food was really nice, the location good, facilities very good, entertainment excellent

Review 106:I thought the rooms were a little small and needs upgrading but it's a 3 star and I did enjoy my trip.

Review 107:I enjoyed the friendly staff which were very helpful at all times.

Review 108:We were given a room that smelled moldy and the shower showed black mold. This was in the older section. Requested another room that was an improvement but the shower still needed work.

Review 109:Town centre is 20 minute walk not 10 minutes as advertised. Holds conferences which impede normal guests' movement/enjoyment.

Review 110:Quiet room. Modern functional hotel.

Review 111:The location was great for exploring the west country. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast! Loved the live music at the pub every night, and nice pool/workout facilities. Rooms were a little small and could use some refurbishing.

Review 112:Booked through Booking .com was given a price for stay. Hotel charged £8 more and said it was due to currency fluctuation however if this was the case we should have paid less!

Review 113:Everything

Review 114:The changing rooms could have been cleaner lot of damp on one wall , I requested a cot and never got it also the bedroom door didn't lock from inside woke up to my two year old in the hall

Review 115:The bunk bed went down a treat with the kids as did the swimming pool which had a nice seperate kids area and reception and pool staff were so helpful with one member of pool staff helping my toddler settle in to pool by giving her toys

Review 116:Room very long walk from lift and walkway very badly lit up where work was been done badly signed to also no trays available for breakfast

Review 117:Busy but quite

Review 118:Pretty terrible hotel. Room was full of workmen when I checked in, changing the radiator. The room smelt of grease and construction works for the weekend.

Review 119:The price

Review 120:from the time we arrived to the time we left, every member of staff we encountered were polite and mannerly, the food in both the bar and restaurant was of a very high standard, the rooms are comfortable, would have no hesitation in staying here again

Review 121:Nothing--this place is great!

Review 122:The hotel is beautiful, the food is great, the amenities are great, but best of all is the customer service. The staff is really exceptional.

Review 123:Construction noise at 8am continuing through the day. French tourists up at 7am making noise entering each others room talking loudly with no refard for other guests.

Review 124:I did not enjoy going down to the reception for my door card to be recoded every time we went out. really dusty carpets, changed rooms three times because of road noise and noisy squeaky bed. we were woken up at 3.00 with girls having a party in the room.

Review 125:the short walk to Ennis, 10 minutes. absolutely nothing else. Very accommodates, they allowed us early check in.

Review 126:All of the above. I wont be staying here again

Review 127:Toilet was unclean!. All the milk was sour in small cartons. Room very small. Noise from wedding party until 3am and then woke up at 8am by cleaners having conversation outside my room. Elderly man in the door for breakfast Was a very unpleasant and rude. Asked him how much breakfast and he snapped "10" and then snatched the 10 from my hand without a ease or thank you in the conversation. So basically a rude ignorant man. Rest of the the staff were fine and bar food was nice but would not recommend to others.

Review 128:The room needs some repair. The taps need maintenance. Our room #307 looks out directly on a large dirty (water) tank and there is rubble and building debris around it. Since the tank cannot be hidden, I suggest that the lower section of the windo be frosted to hide the view.

Review 129:The staff, the dinner

Review 130:The hotel is dingy with brown threadbare carpets. All of the beds in the room were past their sell by date and some of the covers were dirty. The kettle was filthy and we had to jiggle the wire to make it work. Shower rail was rusty. Breakfast fruit was tinned apart from the apples and no yoghurt, no water in the gym apart from bottles to buy, no filtered water fountain and sauna not very warm. Way better and cleaner hotels available for €99

Review 131:The swimming pool and the bar was ok

Review 132:Nothing

Review 133:Liked the hotel, it was in a quiet area. Staff very helpful. Clean and bright hotel, liked the coffee shop for throughout the day refreshments.

Review 134:There was no Hand Soap and no Shower Gel!!! I had breakfast at 9 and it could have been a bit hotter.

Review 135:Helpful and friendly staff. I was moved to another room as the one allocated to me didn't have a bath. Hotel in good location and not too far from shopping centre.
